This is just my opinion with regards to episode 14. For Seunghyo, his proposal is the 'right time', given they have long known each other, like they literally grew up together and spent so much time together. I know that 'friendship' and 'relationship' are two different things, but given their history together, for him it is already enough as they will eventually end up in marriage anyway. Also, Seunghyo had long been in love with Seokryu. He had suppressed his feelings throughout all the years, only to find out that she is the only woman whom he truly loves. He had basically loved Seokryu for a long time now. Not to forget how he had the '7 minutes' of his life flashback at him with his recent incident. So yeah, he doesn't want to waste time. He has done enough of it with his countless multiple failed attempts of confession to her back then.
As for Seokryu. I completely understand where she is coming from as someone who had a family member suffer from such illness and the relapse itself. Again, cancer is not just merely an illness that damages one's physical health, it damages the mental well-being of a person too. It is like a ticking time bomb. You are left to be engulfed in continuous fear of it reoccurring suddenly. That constant thought is something that those who had experience it had to go through for most of their lives. Her rejection towards Seunghyo, speaks how much she loves him. She would rather hurt him by rejecting his proposal which would be 'less damage', than let him suffer the possibility of her cancer reoccurring. The writer leans once more to the realistic side.
I am a firm believer that 'love' has no definite expression. Which is why love languages exist. Every single person receives love and gives love differently. Both Seokryu and Seunghyo's love language are completely polar opposites. Seunghyo is an expressive lover, while Seokryu leans more to the silent lover type. Definitely Seokryu loves Seunghyo just as much as he loves her.
I don't know why some people still can't see Seokryu's love for Seunghyo. She had also clearly declared her love for him in previous episode. Which I think people might be forgetting. There are many scenes that points out how much she loves him, from the time they were still friends up to their dating era. It is just that her way of expressing her love is more into actions than words. Also, she expressed it herself how she wanted to accept his proposal but her worries and fears caught her up in the moment and Seunghyo's words helped relieved that part. I wasn't that completely disappointed with the proposal rejection scene because eventually at the end it was resolved well. Another scene for me to love is that ending scene. As much as I love their lovey-dovey moments, their emotional scenes always get the best of me.
There is notable scene that made me tear up a bit. The scene where Seokryu read the first comment she got from her food vlog. It was short but as someone who related, it sure dug deep. So, I love how the food vlog that Seokryu ended up doing is something that is 'healthy' and made to be able to cater those who have and had cancer. I love the writer for this.
Overall, there were some flaws in this episode but I enjoyed it as usual. Seunghyo is so baby-coded. He is so hilarious. The signs from god were so epic. I am loving their dad's combo. Plus, the dumb & dumber Seunghyo + Danho combination. I definitely laughed a lot. Yay! finally they got caught but not in spicy scene ahaha then Proposal next week!!
2. None
3. Not really. Exes of both main characters come into the picture solely for the purpose of 'closure'. Must say a neatly done closing of chapter by the writer.
4. There are some. Expect some angst especially in earlier episodes. However, I assure you it is satisfying because they don't drag issues for long and resolve it within the same episode or asap next ep.
5. Episode 11
6. I must say if you bear the whole 10 episodes, the following episodes onwards will be a complete party. It was all worth the roller coaster ride because the writer's rewards was worth the wait.
7. Slow burn romance but once it is earned you'll end up getting satisfaction and feel deeply how worthy all it was.
p.s I saw your pfp is hong haein....I love QOT too! If you were able to watch that then I am sure you will survive and might love this too like I did.
