The people Ye Li tends to talk about as if they were still alive are actually the dead ones. You will notice in the way she talks in a peculiar manner and the background music. As of who had exactly killed them, there is more than one villain it seems. In my opinion, Ye Li does know they are gone, it's just she is masking her trauma, pain, and fears by pretending they were still alive. I don't see her as someone mentally ill but rather she resorts to coping mechanisms to keep herself steady and going for them.

I haven't watched the latest episode yet because this episode seems so stressful and my current fave ship Jiseung and Siwon seems to be drifting apart.

It simply could be that they aren't used to this type of historical dramas or more of personal preferences. Not everyone will find a drama enjoyable but that doesn't make the drama any less enjoyable.

The semi-dark side of catching up is coming up with countless theories, dissecting every detail from previous episodes, and slowly losing our minds over the countdown timer because it's somehow moving both too slowly and too fast at the same time. It actually sounds like a fun way to survive the waiting game, but we'll see if I can resist the urge to hit "Next Episode" before I officially become part of it 🤭

I’ve been feeling really indecisive lately. I only have four episodes left before i’m officially caught up and forced into the dreaded waiting game. Part of me wants to slow down so I can keep binge-watching a little longer, but at the same time, The First Jasmine is so addictive that I just want to keep going all the way through.

I see, so this means I don't really need to read the novel anymore if the drama has already diverged this much. I originally thought novel readers would have an advantage when it came to predicting certain scenes and plot developments, but from what you're saying, we're all basically back at square one now. At this point, everyone can only come up with theories based on what's actually being shown in the drama rather than using the novel as a roadmap.

And yes, that would make for a really interesting twist. I'm especially excited to see how Ye Li's relationships with the three male leads develop from here and the type of dynamic she will have with each of them.

I didn't read the novel, so Han Mingxi and Ye Li had already met? I just saw a post about a scene in episode 2 when Ye Li rode the cart on her way back to the capital, there was apparently a man lying behind the cart that others pointed out to be Han Mingxi. I went to rewatch it again because I miss out on that detail the first time, and there really was a man with his face covered.
