I understand your reaction as I am also someone who came into this drama without fully knowing what it would actually bring. The earlier episodes are indeed triggering as it portrayed reality but don't worry as it will eventually lighten up in future episodes, the fluff you are looking for will definitely be worth the wait. The romance between the leads are more of slowburn but this one will keep you up your toes because of how they portrayed "yearning" really well that the development between the leads relationship is very satisfying. I agree with you on this, Bai Jing Ting is definitely meant for this role because this version of Sang Yan has more layers in him compared to the Sang Yan in HL.

I honestly believe that no drama is ever perfect, there is no perfection in the world. Everything crafted by humans will eventually end up with some flaws because as beings we are flawed as well. This applies to drama rating, giving it a 10 doesn't necessarily mean that it is truly perfect, but the fact that people still rated it a 10 despite its flaws shows that this drama has manage to create an impact that its flaws is something that can be considered minor as at the end of the day it didn't totally ruin the overall impact of the drama. Anyway, just a thought but I agree with you at some point.

I share the same sentiments with you. I think it's just that TFF spoke to us on a deeper level which not many dramas can do. I never found this to be cringey or cliche. I usually feel that way when watching other dramas these days, but this one felt so different. I have been completely attatched to it. Even now, I still haven't been able to pick up the other dramas I had put on-hold before, I honestly feel like dropping them. I think it will be hard to move on after giving us that ended 🥺

The First Frost is a really rare drama. I am having a hardtime moving on too. I think that would be the case for me as well. It's a really rare drama that doesn't come by easily. I don't think any other dramas will come close to this. I plan on rewatching again so I hurried in writing my review🤭

I have finally completed writing a review for this drama. It took me 5 days because the ending just left me speechless. This is the longest time it had ever taken me to write a review for a drama. TFF really made a huge impact in me, this drama rekindled my love for modern romance c-dramas, at the same time it broke me to pieces too because there would be no drama like this again. I had enjoyed coming into this comment section and engaging with everyone these past days, thank you for this experience and it was nice to gain new friends here in this site. I'm still not over TFF.

I loved Victor Ma's portrayal of Sang Yan in Hidden Love as well, he was truly an iconic character there. However, as much as I have loved his portrayal of Sang Yan there, I understood that the Sang Yan that we know of in Hidden Love is just the Sang Yan that Sang Zhi knows of and not who the real Sang Yan is. Hidden Love only gave us a glimpse of how he is as an older brother to his sister while The First Frost takes us to see how he is, who he truly is coming from the eyes of his lover Wen Yi Fan. It might be hard at first but I hope you give this drama a chance and open mind because honestly, after completing this drama I could never bring myself to picture Sang Yan as the Hidden Love Sang Yan anymore, after knowing the real him in this drama, I could only see him as Sang Yan of The First Frost and Bai Jing Ting did a splendid job in giving life to this character, he is still the same Sang Yan but there is just so much depth to him now. He is more than just a brother. To add, both these dramas are told from the female leads point of view.
