Title The First Frost Spoiler
Q'ns:They were in relationship in their teenage days? She broke up with him?
I didn't read the novel but from what I have understood having watched all released episodes, they were never in a relationship. They did like each other but it ended there with none of them being able to convey how they truly felt for one another. Well, Sang Yan did express a bit. There was no break up involve but more of separation, leaving each other's life.

πŸ’― agreed. Sharing some thoughts. Like the symbolic meaning of the title. In my interpretation, this title means…
I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this way. Your interpretation about the title speaks exactly the same thoughts I had in mind. It is indeed a beautiful process which is why this drama speaks on a much more deeper level for me and I am already loving every bit of it.

What I have loved about this drama other than the obvious great chemistry and acting performance between the leads is the rich storyline it has. It managed to evoke a lot of emotions in me with just a few episodes, I felt the depth and type of love they were trying to convey. It's a mature and complex type of love where it speaks that giving your heart to someone isn't the only thing that you need when it comes to love, it tackles a lot more about one's self journey through the complexities of life, it is where it is not a matter of being puzzle pieces that fits together perfectly but it's about learning how to be a complete version of oneself until the right one for you comes a long and both the complete version of yourselves comes together to form a greater whole. By complete, I mean learning to accept every part of your self and life, the good and the bad. The First Frost captures the rawness of love and how these love intertwines with the realities of life. It's not solely rainbows and sunshines, but the darkness and cold.

Title The First Frost Spoiler
I really feel for Wen Yi Fan, she has gone through a lot ever since she lost her father. Everything in her world crumbled down even her dreams. Her own biological mother and blood-related relatives did her so wrong and neglected her. So, I understand if she grows completely cold towards them. They no longer deserve to be part of her life. Such terrible mother and relatives.

She has suffered a lot and it must have been so tough to push through having such kind of life experiences, which is why I admire her resilience in picking herself up and braving through the storms of life, no matter what it throws her way. She is a strong person, this is how I see her as she is definitely not weak minded, however, strong people get tired and crumble too.

Having watched all of the released episodes what struck me the most was the conversation with her in Xiang Lang's car. When he questioned why she seems so closed off and distant. This question might not be a big deal for others but it is a big deal for those in this position. Once you go through this life struggles you can never go back to the 'old you'. You can only choose to face reality with a mask on your face. Wen Yi Fan has been like this, she has constantly worn a mask on her face everyday hiding her scars and pain away.

Some might say that she could have gotten all through it if she just opened herself up to her friends or even Sang Yan at this point in her life, but that is not entirely true and 'opening up' showing your scars is the most difficult thing to do for people like Wen Yi Fan who grew up into an adult that learned the hard way that there is no one reliable in this world she could rest her tired heart on. Thus, I understand as well why she decided to push Sang Yan away from her life and think that he deserves better than her.

They say that dreams are the windows to a person's subconscious mind, the scene when Wen Yi Fan was sleep walking and dreamt of the sun painted what she truly crave for. A warm, safe and reliable place where she could rest her tired heart and heal her scars - and it just so happens that she ended up hugging Sang Yan. I find this scene to be very significant as it wasn't just simply about them having a sweet moment but it was rather symbolic of their fated connection.

The rating and episode ratings are ridiculously low, I haven't been bored a minute in this show and the leads…
There's been some downvoting that happened lately, some users had already started rating the unreleased episodes with 1.0 rating. It's best to rate the individual released episodes to increase the ratings.

To any one who can understand mandarin, when he said that he owes her 20 is he implying it as 20 = ai ni, since…
520 is chinese internet slang of wo ai ni it is homophonous to it so they consider it as another way of saying 'I love you', 20 can also considered as ai ni

ikr I am camping here, constantly checking the timer lol
I wish TFF was like that too but the downside is we will only have 12 or 16 episodes which will make it end sooner 😭 I guess we can't really have the best of both worlds πŸ’”...thanks hehe I like to make lengthy comments on dramas that makes me feel so much and this drama is one of them ✨

Guys is it worth the ratings? Just asking, although cant really see him as sang yan from hidden love. I have a…
MDL ratings had always been subjective so it is best not to trust what the rating in this site shows you especially if the drama is still currently airing. There are several factors that makes MDL rating not that trustworthy which you have to take into consideration, but the biggest factor of them all is that there are troll accounts that like to downrate a drama and there are also accounts that like to rate a drama a perfect score even when a drama has not finished airing yet.

So I suggest for you to watch the first few episodes instead of trusting the ratings or merely relying on others opinions as at the end of the day we all have different perspectives and preferences ; you might miss out on a good drama just because you didn't give it a chance.

This drama is different from Hidden Love, you can already consider it as another drama. Sang Yan from Hidden Love is just a character who is made to be Sang Zhi's elder brother and Duan Jia Xu's friend, he was only constricted into such writing so we only got to see his playful sides, however, The First Frost focuses more about who the actual Sang Yan truly is, so it is no wonder he is far different from the Sang Yan in Hidden Love because there is now more depth to him and this revolves around his life story.
