Also, maybe an unpopular opinion but I don't think Shinwoo will be a rebound because he's always been there. He's…
same! It's highly unlikely that we'll get a season 2, especially with Korean Bl series but I think people are worrying over nothing. I never thought of Shinwoo as being a "rebound" at all. He was there for and with TK from the beginning and especially the last 2 episodes he's been nothing but supportive and respectful as a friend should be. He's been there through it all and IF TK WAS in a relationship then broke up, yeah he'd be rebound. Shinwoo to me is anything BUT rebound.
now that kdramas are coming into the bl scene, the character and story-building is really stepping up. Of course…
I'm Honestly hoping that this BL will pave the way for more 20-30 minute BL since this was is fantastic with all the room now for character and story development with the extra screen time.
PROPS TO NAM GOONG! He's literally the ONLY ONE defending his friends and helping Shinwoo along the way (by giving SW TK's home address). Literally Nam goong is the HIGHLIGHT of a fantastic character. The teachers, except Mr. Seo, are literally push overs for letting DO's dad scare them into not helping and acting at all. The teachers are horrible and shouldn't be allowed to teach by making it seem like DO was wrong and that being gay is horrible. Nam Goong totally knew that So Hee was the one spreading the photos as he called her out and tried to let her instigate the conversation. He's such a mature person for trying to hint at her that she should stop when he said "whoever spread the rumours will regret it." NAM GOONG IS A SWEETIE.
DO totally disappointed me and made me slightly angry with him in this episode. Look I get it, you have social pressure from school, parents that are hounding you and have social status, you don't know if you're really gay or not and you're facing horrible rumours, I get it, but MAN COME ON. The least you could have done was defend TK and say "look it's not true but don't you think you're taking things a little far?" to those guys who were betting and other people that came up to him? Sure even if he wanted to stop the rumours and wasn't sure of his feelings he should have at least talked with TK. Like doesn't he deserve SOME explanation? Christ in a bucket man, he was avoiding both the rumours and TK, and again he needed someone to tell him to address the issue to act before acting (going onto the group chat and denying everything). At this point I feel like DO isn't an autonomous person, he's not even his own person to make his own decisions. I'm not hating on him, just wondering why his character is so weak? He just really needs to grow before anything can happen.
SHINWOO MY POOR BABY! OMG THE CRYING SCENE WAS JUST CHEFS KISS! The acting was great and Shinwoo my man finally gets some action. He's being proactive, comforting and when he said, "come to my house" I was like YEESSSSSSS. He's such a supportive sweetie and I can't wait to see him help TK and comfort him. I just hope their relationship progresses to love in 5 episodes that we have left. I'm super worried since they're still friends at this point and Shinwoo is trying to go after TK based on the preview so OMG HE WANTS TK NOW! He knows what he wants and is going for it! What a great guy for waiting until TK and DO figure things out before acting on his feelings. He waited, tested the waters, was willing to give up, but now he's JUST CONCERNED ABOUT TK. In the whole episode he never ONCE was thinking about himself; he was worried about the rumours, worried and trying to find TK and comforted him when he cried. WHAT A MAN! SHINWOO PLEASE GET SOME LOVE! WE NEED IT ENDGAME GUYS!
I'm pretty hopeful they will execute it well - so far, the writing hasn't let me down. Also, we do still have…
I have no idea how they're gonna do it but I feel this slow burn is finally picking up and I don't think they'll rush it but I'm still a bit worried since this series from the start has been a slow one so I have my fingers crossed!
I think he did/ does have something for Taekyung but due to being judged he backs out. That comment about only…
I'm super excited and nervous for tomorrow so we'll see! Fingers crossed that it's gonna have some sweet moments between Shinwoo and Tae Kyung since TK is gonna be heart broken! :(
I just want to point out one scene because I haven’t read any comments on it. In Ep 11, at vending machine,…
Oh I completely agree. Majority of people knew or had an inkling that DO has feelings for TK and it's pretty obvious he was getting ready to confess and wanted to act on his feelings for TK at his own pace, but his friends totally ruined it and the social pressure he's experiencing really packed a punch on his decision to confess making him back out. I never really had an issues with DO as a character, just that he's not making the right choices and the way he handled TK's confession which didn't hold any responsibility or accountability. He didn't show enough respect for TK but overall I still like his as a character.
the behind the scenes are soooo cute! Shinwoo's actor Kang yoo is such a shy cutie! He's not completely different from his character Shinwoo but much more shy and cute ahahaa. Take a look at your leisure of these 2 bts vids while we wait for tomorrow! English subbed is available if you turn on cc.
people say the story is boring or lacking and the choice of some actors were wrong. I guess it depends on, to…
I totally agree. I think this drama is wonderful and the acting is fantastic. I think what it boils down to if this type of drama is for everyone and people just may not like the over dramatized, dystopian thing. It wasn't my thing either to begin with, but I overlooked the over evil villains and at time goofy characters cliches for the wonderful acting and dark themes.
Anyone else both loving it and also intrigued by how Ga On comes and goes in the mansion or is it just me? I mean…
That scene was sweet! I stopped questioning it a while ago :P . I think the main reason Yo Han is letting Ga On practically stay there now is that he knows Elijah needs Ga On just as much as he himself needs Ga On. He craves some form of familiar love that was ripped away from him at such a young age and Ga On understands him the best. He said to his secretary a few episodes back that Ga On understands him to a deep level. I think he just needs some form of family and companionship love, not romantic of course, so Ga On really provides that. I think the scene that really hit for me, like "OH YEAH Yo Han wants his brother back", was when Ga On was playing with the cat with Elijah outside a few episodes back and Yo Han was watching them from the window and the scene when he was drinking with Ga On in this week's episode and he was crying/laughing in pain. I think he's just as starved for love as Elijah is and Ga On is too pure for him so it hurts him more.
I applaud Ji Sung for slamming it out of the park in this week's episode. The drunk scene, dinner scene and ending scene with the con-artist were by far the most well acted and just wowed me. The scene when Yo Han remembers his brother while drinking with Ga On was by far the most emotion packed, and his laugh? Totally screamed in pain as he was holding himself back while a single tear ran down his cheek. WONDERFUL performance by Ji Sung. This whole episode for me was just CHEF'S KISS.
Jin Young is finally getting in tune with his character. He really impressed me this week; the hatred, anger and pure bromance he has with Ji Sung is perfect. I'm finally seeing his acting potential coming out and I'm loving this series. His character as Ga On is finally shinning and the bromance is off the charts. I'm loving his little duo with Yo Han and they make a great team.
Yo Han restraining Ga On was an honest surprise for me since the preview last week seemed to be hinting that Yo Han was instigating Ga On's rage and actually probing him to act in revenge but Yo Han as a character impressed me. He restrained Ga On and it was a wonderful thing to see him help and guide Ga On rather than probe him to act in pure hatred. Noted that Yo Han was doing in partly for his own goal to use the con artist as a tool for bait in his plan, but he still stopped Ga On from doing something he'll regret. This "brother" relationship between them is so heart breaking to see since it's hurting Yo Han but at the same time he craves Ga On's attention just like Elijah. When Yo Han said " you don't want blood on your hands" it was honestly a huge relief to know that he still has genuine concern for Ga On and that deep down he's not JUST using him, but rather trying to wake him up to what the world is really like.
This was a fantastic episode. I'm looking forward to tomorrow <3
so i was watching the ep 8 again and they changed the music at the bar scene or am i tripping ?? im sure it was…
sad thing is I made a huge post about the original song "Between the bars" and how the lyrics fits everything and then they changed the damn song. I prefer the first song by Elliot Smith.
I think he did/ does have something for Taekyung but due to being judged he backs out. That comment about only…
THIS! This is what I mean! thank you for getting it! I'm straight myself but I'm ALL FOR the LGBTQ community and I had a few friends and acquaintances that are gay and I'm all for it! It just hurts me that Korea and china especially are still so homophobic. Even though Da On didn't know about Shinwoo's past, the very least he could have done was say something. I was expecting AT LEAST SOME form of refute from Da On but was sadly disappointed. It's one of the reasons why I think he, as a person, needs to grow and I'm not really hating him, but not really defending him either like you said. He doesn't need to parade around shouting protests but he should have at least, the bare minimum, defended Shinwoo for knowing him for longer and him being his 'friend'. It just seemed out of character?
they really said sike to your comment lmao i just posted here confused af bc i was watching the ep 8 again and…
I KNOW! I was super upset since they changed the song! If you watch is somewhere else like kdramahood or koreandrama . es you'll hear the older song they used but man I felt bitch slapped :P hahah
personally that would be great but my guess is and from what I've heard some interviews. IF by some miracle we get shown some deleted scenes or something that would be great since there were some plot holes!
I think he did/ does have something for Taekyung but due to being judged he backs out. That comment about only…
I couldn't have said it better! It was why I was so confused and somewhat angry with Da On. He clearly has intercepted before, when Shinwoo was going to leave the cafeteria in episode 3 and spilled food on him. So Da On is capable of doing something right and acting on something he might not agree with but when it came down it something that was affecting himself and his relationship, he was so hesitant. I was frustrated when he didn't he object or say ANYTHING to those 2 guys who were poking fun at him for the bracelet. I agree with you about his personal issues, but at the very least he could have protected even SHINWOO when they were talking smack about his past and how they were generalizing Shinwoo's experience with giving gifts to Da On. Honestly he knew Shinwoo for longer so it shocked me that he didn't even try to at the very least protect his friend. Like you said he took NO RESPONSIBILITY for either defending his friends, standing up for himself, or explaining himself to Tae Kyung. He needed some pushing from Shinwoo to even have a more honest talk with Tae Kyung so he's needs to get his stuff together before anything else.
