Title Light on Me
Someone pointed out that Shinwoo might have liked Taekyung since a year ago(1 grade ago) when they were in the…
I suspected this but MAN THIS IS ADORABLE! I want to see this hopefully this upcoming Thursday or next week! This is catnip and WE NEED THIS SWEET SUGAR in our lives. Shinwoo is a wonderful character and I want to see some episodes from his perspective.

Title Light on Me
Shinwoo reminds me so much of Junghwan from Reply 1988 that its crazy. Both amazing characters.
Honestly I have some serious hope that Shintae is endgame. It'd seem so weird NOT to make them endgame and Shinwoo as a character seems to be more strong, both emotionally and mentally, than Da On. I'm not bashing on Da On since I found him cute at the beginning but someone like Tae Kyung would get SERIOUSLY hurt being with DO since DO is so insecure, cares about images, is not honest and has a lot of issues to work out with personally. I'm just hoping for Shinwoo at this point since he's so sweet and honestly deserves someone like TK.

Title Light on Me Spoiler
MAD respect for Shinwoo this week. I at first thought he was immature and that his character wasn't well thought out but MAN WAS I WRONG. I swear this guy is a PERFECT match for Tae Kyung since he's just as open about his feelings as Tae Kyung is since he literally had to warn Da On and encourage him to realize his (Da On's) own feelings for Tae Kyung. Shinwoo seriously has a fantastic character and not only that but he told Soo Hee off and didn't take her deal even though you could see the desperation in his face. Shinwoo has to be endgame for me since Da On in the next preview seems to be still walking around eggshells and hiding his feelings testing the waters rather than being open with Tae Kyung which isn't great or mature to do. Shinwoo willing to put his feelings aside, be the bigger man, suffer and see his friends happy by setting aside his own love was so mature and wonderful to see. I SERIOUSLY will be so heartbroken if Shintae isn't end game

Plus Shinwoo hinting that he was already in love with Tae Kyung was both expected and not that big a surprise for me considering how hostile he was to Tae Kyung from the get go. His reasons for "hating" TK just seemed non-existent and confusing and rather than hate, I feel he felt threatened by TK just like DO said in this week's ep. SW was already outed in his previous school and hurt for being himself and being gay so having the person he likes being so blunt and open was a shock to him and a threat so I understand the hostility better now. I JUST WANT TO SEE HOW he fell in love since that is pure catnip for me! I WANT SHINWOO TO BE HAPPY! Fingers crossed for Shintae to be endgame :(

okay so they changed the song in episode 8 during the bar scene when Ga On is crying? Like why? It was "Between the bars" by Eillott Smith and it matched better before but now it's a Korean song? Can someone tell me if I'm imagining things or if there was an issue with copyright with the song?

I still wonder what Yo Han meant when he said he didn't want Ga On to be behind him? The wording they chose throws…
yeah I found that wording seriously off. I don't know if it was the translations of if Ga On has a bigger purpose in Yo Han's plans but it seems that Ga On has more worth for Yo Ha that the others either because he looks like his brother too much and needs to use that to his advantage or he can't stand having him for an enemy. Either way he needs him plus the con-artist escaping is sus so who knows WHY Yo Han really needs Ga On for.

Can I just say that music in shows REALLY makes a difference if the songs and music picked have a deeper meaning rather than just being there for ambiance? The song "Between the bars" in episode 8 totally fits Ga On as a character completely and I don't know if it was intentional or not from the director and script writer, but man, music lately in Korean dramas have been getting much more detail in terms of lyrics and how it fits the scenes/characters.

Please take a listen to the song and pull the lyrics up and you'll see what I mean. At first I thought it was JUST the situation Ga On was facing; his anger and frustration over the con-artist and crying while being drunk. BUT I WAS TOTALLY sleeping on the lyrics. PLEASE bare with me on dissecting the lyrics since I feel like people are bashing Ga On as a character without really understanding him and simply labelling him as naive , which he might have started out but he's way more in-depth than we might think:

"Drink up baby, stay up all night
With the things you could do
You won't but you might
The potential you'll be that you'll never see.."

This section represents the new changes that Ga On has now experienced with finding out about the con-artist and how he's willing to change sides. "The things you could do.." meaning what he's NOW capable of with Yo Han. "You won't but you might" meaning how dangerous Ga On could be and MIGHT do something he'll regret as can be seen in the preview for next week with him burning and choking what seems to be the con-artist and his home. "The protentional you'll be that you'll never see" could be that he let go of his strong belief in justice and the GOOD things he COULD have done as a just lawyer but won't do anymore now that he lost faith.

"The promises you'll only make
Drink up with me now
And forget all about the pressure of days
Do what I say and I'll make you okay
And drive them away
The images stuck in your head"

"The promises you'll make only make.." meaning the promise he made to BE JUST and not be a law breaking lawyer that he JUST BROKE in episode 8. "And forget all about the pressure of days and do what I say" is a reference for sure for Soo Hyun constantly comforting him which is obvious and how she's trying to make him move on from his parents death from the pressure and sadness he faces every day. "The images stuck in your head" meaning his guilt and constant suffering over his parents death having nightmares every night.

"People you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
That push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still"

This section is VERY interesting and open to interpretation but to me "People you've been before that you don't want around anymore" to me is a reference to who Ga On was as a person when he was going to KILL the con-artist after he got off the bus with his knife when he was younger. How he was willing to be a killer to get revenge and how he's constantly fighting his anger and other self to get revenge that NOW has been let loose thanks to Yo Han. We can see that Soo Hyun was trying to keep him sane as she tried to stop him from killing anyone but she can only do so much now that he's willing to go over the edge as can be seen in the preview for next week. Plus Ga On even said that he couldn't allow himself to be a law breaking person a few episodes ago since he was trying to hold onto the last thread of belief he had in the justice system so hopefully he'll keep fighting or struggling with himself.

"Drink up baby, look at the stars
I'll kiss you again, between the bars
Where I'm seeing you there with your hands in the air
Waiting to finally be caught
Drink up one more time, and I'll make you mine
Keep you apart, deep in my heart
Separate from the rest, where I like you the best
And keep the things you forgot"

Finally the last section "I'll kiss you again, between the bars, where I'm seeing you there with your hands in the air, waiting to finally be caught" COULD be foreshadowing how Soo hyun MIGHT end up having to end up arresting Ga On and Yo Han or at the very least trying to stop him from going too far and doing something horrible. In my opinion I think Soo Yun was really holding him together and I felt that he called her in Episode 8 as a last change to have her change his mind when he was crying in the bar with her. He always cried and was comforted by her making him stop the things he wanted to do in revenge so I'm thinking that it was the last thread that snapped. This line could also be a reference to all the people siding with Yo Han who KNOW will be caught and punished eventually for what they're doing but are willing to get caught for revenge just like the lawyer said in the aquarium.

Personally this is all open to interpretation and sorry for the long rant considering this is just a post about the song, but I seriously think that Ga On isn't such a pathetic character that we might have the impression of and hopefully we'll see that now that he switched sides. I just honestly feel the appreciation for this show should be more and protentional this show has is wonderful.

Thanks if any of you have read this far! See you guys next week <3

Worth watching? I love Jisung but seeing comments of it being mot worth it.I don't care for ratings if bad or…
In my personal opinion it totally is. The enjoyable dark and twisted scenarios and mystery is interesting and won't bore you at all. Ji Sung carries this show in my opinion and he's a total anti-hero so you never know if he's truly evil or good. Give this a watch for some good old fashioned villains, intense mystery, suspense and slight murder mystery. Plus Min Jung is a total evil seductress so have fun!

I loved episode 8. I gave my thoughts really down below the comments section but if anyone knows the song that's playing in episode 8 when Ga On and Soo Hyun are in the bar drinking and he cries and it starts playing "drink up with me.." I would appreciate to know the song title and who the artist! I'm dying to see how far over the edge Ga On will go next week :D

I don't understand the hate Ga On is getting as a character. He is the moral compass of the show. If the writers…
I couldn't agree with you more! I personally love BOTH Yo Han and Ga On since they're both needed to show the flaws in each other and the judicial system which I appreciate a lot. it makes the drama more intense and worth while, not to mention to see character developments in both ML. We see Yo Han start to doubt and question and even at times tweak the things he does for example; eating together with his niece, trying to talk with her, regretting some of the things he says. On the other side we see the same thing with Ga On; he questions the things he says, how his believe in the system is crumbling and now, in the recent episode, his change from upholding the law to breaking it. I LOVE character developments like this when so called "good characters" that stand up for justice turn all anti-hero like Ga On and Yo Han. I'm just DYING to see how far Ga On will go now his buttons have been pushed and he has "power" on his side now that he's with Yo Han.

That scene BROKE me. It was the highlight for me to Ga On as a character and I loved the acting in that scene. It was just so raw and I have to admit that JinYoung is getting better at acting.

THIS!! I'm loving how he was pursuing 'pure' justice so that he himself wouldn't go insane and he was there as a catalyst to Yo Han like a coin; GO could be the "good side" of the coin while YH is the "bad side". You need one to show the other so GO switching sides is a huge development for his character to show how much a person can take plus I feel like he'll stop by himself when he's so close to the edge of madness knowing his character. I feel like in Ga On's there just to show the innocent side of things and to serve as a catalyst for YH seeing as how he's a anti-hero using the system to his advantage. I just think the reason Ga On is following Yo Han because he doesn't know what to believe in anymore and he wants some form of justice and in his desperation he clung to Yo Han and I think Yo Han knows this. It's still a bit sus though about the prison scene between Yo Han and the guard and the inmate in episode 8 when they were giving each other looks and I think Ga On knows that he's being a bit manipulated by Yo Han but doesn't care at this point. I'm just SUPER excited to see what Ga On does in the next episode since it seems like he wants revenge based on the preview.

hahahahaha you and me both sister :P
it just seemed so cruel to make poor Ga On suffer through it and use him but at the same time I think it was for his own good to realize how corrupt the judicial system is. I feel so torn!

Damn episode 7 was a roller coaster. I have to say that I felt so badly for Ga On in this episode. When he was breaking down in the prison, cried and screamed in anger and frustration, THAT was the peak of this episode for me. You can finally see him breaking down and realizing how naive he's been. Everything that he worked towards; the trust he put into the system to stay sane, to become a judge and keep going just crumbled. I'm not sure if Yo Han fabricated some of it considering how the inmate wasn't saying anything and how fishy it seemed, plus Yo Han has lied already many times to Ga On so I'm not sure if this is true, but you could see Ga On cracking in the seams. That horrible, laugh when he was crying in anger was the just CHEFS KISS. I wonder how the con artist got out and WHO got him out for what purpose? It just seems fishy to me since Yo Han or someone may be using it against Ga On for a reason. Plus how the hell would a small con-artist be able to slip out with just money? Sure he might have paid some people off but to be able to slip out while another person/inmate takes the fall for him and possibly changing his name to escape seems like an inside job. Any thoughts?

Also the bromance when GO and YH were working together was brilliant. I just hope GO keeps working with YH. But the look of betrayal that GO gave to YH hit me hard during the courtroom scene. I gotta admit that was low of YH to be poking at GO for his own gain and possibly to sway GO to his own graces. That was cruel but I think it would do some good for GO considering how naive he can be. I just hope that there's more going on than we think with the con arts and GO's parents death.

I'm not surprised that Sun Ah did that to the director since I knew something was fishy as all hell between them but man when you find out that she was abused and sexually assaulted by him it makes more sense. But I'd like to see HOW SA crawled up to power to control people and how she got into her position since it seems so far-fetched for her to have so much control over people behind the scenes so I hope we get more info about that.

Finally, I know this is a small detail, but did anyone else notice how in the next preview for tomorrow's episode that GO had his hair parted and slicked back to the side and not the middle anymore for more scenes? I'm sensing some change in him. Sure he does that to his hair during court but I think it's more so a personality change after what YH revealed about the con artist in today's episode and how MAYBE GO is starting to become more pessimistic and twisted just like YH towards the law. I know it's not a HUGE detail but think about it for a second; he seems more aggressive and way more dark in the preview and his hair is parted to the side, slicked back. Maybe I'm pulling this out of nowhere but it seems like his naivety just crumbled along with his innocence and trust in the law; therefore being shown in his appearance? Any thoughts?

Anyways, I can't wait for tomorrow <3

I couldn't agree with you more! Honestly So Hee forcing herself onto Da On made me so uncomfortable. I personally…
Knowing Da On he'll either gently push Tae Kyung off or refuse since he's that type of person. He wouldn't want to hurt Shinwoo or piss anyone off since he dislikes people being mad at him so he mostly likely would refuse since he wants to keep the peace and isn't ready yet. Plus I feel like with all that he does to hide his true self and protect his image, he wouldn't be brave enough. The thing with Shinwoo is that we can guess that both Da On and Nam goong know about his sexuality. At least we know that Nam goong knows after the fight in episode 3 since Tae Kyung asked about what happened to Shinwoo in middle school and Nam Goong pretended and goofed off that he didn't know. From that we know, but the thing with Shinwoo is he has feelings for Tae Kyung and he's going for it despite being burned once from he ex-classmates. Da On was doubting himself a lot after a few words from So Hee so Da On wouldn't be a good match for Tae Kyung AT THIS MOMENT due to who he is as a person.

I totally agree. Shinwoo must be whipped to be courageous enough to start flirting with Tae Kyung after all that he went through and being potentially outed. I guess that's why Tae Kyung is such a good match for Shinwoo because he gives Shinwoo courage to go after what he wants which is why I want Shinwoo and Tae Kyung to be end game. I feel like Da On isn't courageous enough yet to be in a relationship with Tae Kyung since he cares so much about his image. I feel like if Tae Kyung and Da On end up going out that in the end in would hurt Tae Kyung more due to how popular Da On is and how much Da On does to protect himself by being the "perfect" student/people pleaser.

Other than watching the relationships of the characters progress, I also enjoy how their characters are growing…
This is what I'm talking about when it comes to development! We need good character development like this is more BL but due to time constraints we never get this type of in depth character background or development. This type of writing for BL is what we need and I'm so glad that this Korean BL is the first one to take that needed step. I'm loving the development and I can't wait to see more characters bloom.
