Will Jung Sun Ah be the secret, or not so secret antagonist? Kang Yo Han & Kim Ga On vs Jung Sun Ah?
It was hinted at during the pre-reading and previews that she is possibly another antagonist and we've already seen her manipulating the so called president of the foundation Jeong Hak in episode 4 when she was slapping him in the face in private and he was addressing her as "madam". I think he's a stand in and SHE'S the president of the foundation. She might be acting like the secretary to manipulate people and work behind the scenes. And I possibly think it might be them vs. her. Maybe She'll try to get Yo Han on her side as we saw her trying to do during episode 3 during the dance party scene and she was trying to drive a wedge in between Ga On and Yo Han but making Ga On doubt Yo Han about the fire when she was talking to him after the party so I definitely think she's one of the main antagonists. Plus she was practically ready to kill and was smushing the president's face when she was "massaging" him with her foot. It seemed like she was gonna break his neck since she muttered "Are you happy?" under her breath so she's suspicious as all hell :D
I had the same thoughts too, I feel if we go through Yo Han story which is half truth, as we can see Isaac and…
Yeah the guy with the restaurant is weird as well. As to who paid him off I'm guessing maybe the foundation did since I don't think Yo Han would pay him off since that wouldn't make sense. UNLESS he paid him off to stop the investigation that HE COULD HIMSELF go after each member and Yo Han didn't want to alert the foundation members so he paid him off to make him shut up to go after them himself. There's just too many mysterious things which is why I'm so invested into this show. This is by far one of the most interesting dramas in while that just makes you guess and guess. It's one whole guessing game and I love how they do that to keep viewers watching.
When I first started watching this I was intrigued and totally sucked in. This drama just has a way of sucking you in and damn was it intense. I haven't watched a drama like this in a while and it's so nice to see Ji Sung and Jin Young after such a long time. I have to admit that Ji Sung is totally killing it and he's driving the series. I don't think it'd be that good without him. Jin young has also gotten better in his acting and I'm glad to see him in a mature role.
Putting aside the weird dystopian webtoon vibe, this series has the character development and motivation down to perfection for me. I can put aside the horribly unrealistic court scenes and impractical political sub plot since the acting and characters make up for it but flogging in the 21st century? Okay, besides violating the crap out of civil rights and breaching a butt load of laws, I love the series.
Episode 4 was a hell of a ride and I think that what Yo han said to the audience of "people love stories like this" has a way deeper meaning than we think. Do I think he's lying? Sure he is, but I think he was telling half the truth. We know that Yo Han is not above lying and manipulating, but him getting revenge, rising to power and manipulating the law to his will after what happened to his brother and niece makes sense. However some things still don't add up. I think when he said people love stories like this it was more like him convincing himself that people never change. Ga On called Yo Han a monster just like the rest of his childhood classmates and everyone he knew but I think he was hoping that Ga On would be different. It wasn't until he half lied about his story that Ga On apologized and saw him differently. I think sure You Han might have some sociopathic tendencies, but is he a psychopath, no I don't think so. First he showed some emotion when his secretary (the dude who we find out is the boy in the case that he was asking for that women to fess up lying about) then when he was a child, the girl he sat beside was possibly afraid of birds. He killed the bird to possibly get rid of it since the girl he sat next to was scared. I think his actions may seem monstrous but I don't think he's 100% evil. He's a product of a horrible, mistreated, psychological and physically abused home so he learned to take action first. When the kids were shooting the toy gun at him he didn't fight back physically but psychologically but in episode 1 we see him shooting a gun to stop the bus driver. I think he's just a really wounded person who took matters into his own hands since he had enough.
Another thing that's hella weird is what his niece said to Da On about how Yo Han got the house. If he was totally innocent and his brother really did die in church fire, why is his daughter so pissed off at Yo Han? He even said himself to his niece that she wanted to kill him after her legs get better, So what did he really do? Plus what the nanny said about Isaac being the true home owner is raising some red flags. Another person down below in the comments mentioned this but why go after the fireman who stole his brothers watch after 10 years!? Something is weird and his true motives are so concealed and I'm so confused at this point that we'll just have to keep guessing.
If this is the case then I'm hella excited. I love me some good grey, heroes that aren't evil or good. Personally I would love for Da On to either work with You Han or be the one to possibly stop him for making a huge mistake. Either way I'm dying for episode 5.
This show is honestly fantastic in the way it shows conflict, interpersonal relationships and self-esteem issues.…
HHAHAH Tae Kyung is totally a little wrecking ball whose breaking both their defenses but I think that's WHY Da On and Shinwoo might fall for him; for Da On, as you said, Tae Kyung sees through his bullcrap as was hinted at in episode 3 which Tae Kyung questions Da On during the date scene. Tae Kyung questions his behavior, challenges his defense and is different from the "norm" that Da On is used to so he might confuse his feelings as love. For Shinwoo I think that's why he already has a crush on Tae Kyung; he didn't judge him when he overheard him being gay and having the fight and he is blunt and upfront towards him so he's feeling totally conflicted. Now that we're talking I seriously thought that this show was your average slice of life but it's way more meaningful and deep with all this character analysis lol but I honestly think people are sleeping on Tae Kyung as a character calling him "bland", "emotionless" and bad at "acting with lack of facial expressions" but I think we're not getting the full picture yet. We already saw a bit more of his aggressive active side of his personality when he grabbed Shinwoo and I think that is perfect since Shinwoo is unintentionally bringing out more closed off emotions and character traits in Tae Kyung which makes him a possibly good partner/lover for him since he CHALLENGES Tae Kyung and in return so does Tae Kyung for Shinwoo. I'm honestly shocked since I didn't even think about all this until your comment. I love analyzing this since other viewers like you notice things I might not. I'm hopeful for more development in the next episode since the preview suggested some slight attraction/sexual tension between Shinwoo and Tae Kyung.

oh yeah for sure! The added episode air time definitely gives more room for the characters to breath and shine. Half of the time in most BL's the thing that's missing is mostly character background or development. I think this show is doing it right for once since, like you said, the characters in most KOREAN BL remain static since we don't get to see behind the scenes of what they're going through or went through in the past. This is definitely different since I think I'm so used to characters getting together so quickly in BL due to the short air time Korea usually makes their BL.
Both Da On and Shinwoo are difficult to really pinpoint; in a way I feel so bad for both since they're clearly suffering in different ways but it's hard to say who would be better for Tae Kyung. I'm just waiting for the moment when Da On breaks down and really shows us who he is a character rather than a people pleaser. I think that'll be the breaking point when his character really shines. Same with Shinwoo, if we see him break down in front of Tae Kyung and finally let loose all his frustration and anger as well as him expressing himself and being comfortable with his sexuality, this show could end up being a fantastic BL. I just hope they go the extra mile and feed their viewers with the good stuff (the meat of the show could really be delicious if we get that character backstory hahah). All in All I don't know who to root for but something about Shinwoo and Tae Kyung being together just gets me all gooey if Tae Kyung is the one to peel back the layers that Shinwoo has protecting himself and making him all soft haha.
First off...Nam Goong is my favorite, without a doubt.Second, I have a little theory about the romance here, just…
I totally feel you there and I think that's exactly what's already being set up as we can see in today's ep 5 with Shinwoo taking his jealousy out on Do On in the cafeteria by pushing him off. He really likes Tae Kyung and doesn't know if he should be following his feelings after being treated like crap at his old school for being gay and now he's met someone so blunt and forward with their feelings that he doesn't know what to do. Da On is definitely going to start being emotionally dependent towards Tae Kyung, he's already stated that he loves how blunt he is instead of the usual people he's used to dealing with; classmates and parents hiding their true intentions and people only using him because he's "nice" and here comes Tae Kyung not desiring anything from him which is something new for him. I definitely think he'll be a bit possessive since he found someone he actually wants perhaps. I can't wait to see what happens. I just hope that Shinwoo and Tae Kyung is end game.
Kudos to Da On - that boy is a smooth talker. It would have been very easy to, I don't know, just GO AND CHECK…
This show is honestly fantastic in the way it shows conflict, interpersonal relationships and self-esteem issues. It's great at showing the difficulties of being young and how hard of an impact people's pasts can have towards their personalities and actions and the deeply rooted issues people can have. The one thing that's getting me a lot is Shinwoo and his behaviour. I understand that he went through some really hard stuff and that he doesn't trust people easily with him being treated horribly mistreated over being gay in the past, but his jealousy towards Do On and his crush on Tae Kyung should be cleared up since we'll be on episode 6 without any development between Shinwoo and Tae Kyung. His actions are coming off as hate rather than shyness and jealousy and it's making it hard for me to like him a lot as a character. I just hope that the exposition of what really happened to Shinwoo and Do On in the past (Do On's parents and Shinwoo being outed in his previous school) will be revealed to justify Shinwoo's strong hostility. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for character's being angry, hurt and misunderstood since it really adds the butter onto the hypothetical bread of the show, but we need some romantic development soon for me to be invested since I'm getting more slice of life and teen drama rather than BL from this show. Other than that, I'm loving the acting and hidden character angst and backstory <3
OMG I don't know if anyone noticed this, most probably, but Qiao Yan (Miles Wei) was TOTALLY watching his own drama "Perfect and Casual" while he was working out on the treadmill, time stamp 8:18 in episode 5 OMG THAT IS HILARIOUS and wildly cool! I love it when the script writers and director's add a tidbit or little treat for the fans :P
Don’t you hate it when you make a super awkward rule that everybody is breaking behind your back and you find…
this whole comment made me laugh :D It was just so true and funny. Honestly I'm just rolling with it since I wouldn't put up with such a rule if it was my company but still, besides the weird plot holes and weirdness I ADORE this how.
I would have a very different opinion of this series if they made it half of the episodes and 46 min long each.…
I personally think the main issue that almost everyone has is the run time and perhaps writing. The actors, characters and overall story isn't bad at all, I just think they needed to pace things better and if they had such a small run time, they should have prioritized what should be shown instead of focusing too much on the work aspect of their life and more so the development between the main leads instead of this back and forth thing. I personally love the show but the only thing I think they needed to fix was the run time. Giving more time and focusing more on the main leads development would make this at least an 8.2 or 8.3 for me. Overall I love the show.
Take for example WYEL (although it's Korean), they had 10 minute LESS than this show and got RIGHT to the main point and focused completely on the main couple's relationship right from the start. Honestly I just want them to actually establish their feelings mutually at this point since there's only 3 eps left :P
This show is frustrating the heck out of me. I eagerly await the next episode and the ML couple just keep falling…
The most FRUSTRATING thing about this week's ep was that Shi Lei was totally ready to confess and was held back... AGAIN! This week's episode was both adorable and frustrating! I just want the 1st couple to be together already! Luckily we'll be on ep 10 so the most we'll have to wait is till 11 till they get together but man I'm super glad their argument didn't last long. And Yu Zhen was absolutely adorable when he covered his own mistake by saying he wants to "order" what Shi Lei wants. He was totally gonna say I want YOU hahahah XD It was adorable with the way he was pointing at him. HOW MUCH MORE OBVIOUS CAN YOU BE MAN! They're smitten. And I find it hilarious that all the side characters ship them! Jesus they just need to get together already since the chemi is exploding between them :P
When was it when Shi Lei started to like Jin Yu Zhen?
He confirmed it with his mom in ep 8 but I personally think he was starting to fall in love with him after Yu Zhen took care of him after he was sick in EP 5. In EP 7 you can see Shi Lei starting to come to terms with his feelings and more so in ep 8 when they bump into each other in the kitchen.
