I’m only at ep10 but I so badly want Gun (Kay’s character) to end up with Mind instead of Natee. Gun helped her a lot, and the person Natee feel for was Meen and whatever he sees of Mind rn is just a shadow of her. ik i’m gonna be disappointed later on but I still wanna put some hope she’ll end up with Gun. 😭
I watch pretty much all Nanon’s series even before Bad Buddy, but this really takes the longest to finish bc of how painfully terrible it is. They had a great cast ensemble consisting of almost the whole GMMTV’s maknae line, and waste it on this terrible most random plot, cringey dialogues and anti-climatic revelation scenes. lbr no one is watching it for the story. The only thing that kept me going the first few episodes were HighlightOrange bc they were kinda cute, the chemistry is there! Drake and First had far more interesting storylines and stole the show imo, compared to Nanon who’s supposedly the main lead. Nanon is a good actor (i’m sorry the director and script did you dirty), and Prim was decent for a rookie but as TrafficMelon they don’t have the chemistry i’m sorryyy. And lastly, this series got too much of the ‘almost get caught, hide behind cabinet, the bad guy about to check, suddenly there’s a phone call/noise and the bad guy just decide to leave it, crisis averted’ moments literally EVERY OTHER EPISODE.

I agree her costumes fit her background. I didn’t mean elegant (sorry English isn’t my first language) as in to dress rich-ly with expensive fabrics or embroideries like Leng Yue or Princess Xiping. It’s more of the colour clashing choices of her outfits, and the cardigan which is just a personal dislike of mine (makes her looks shorter than she already is esp when she stands next to ML). I in fact love the outfit on the poster which is more muted colours. But if the super bright colourful outfit is to symbolise her child-like innocence then ig they’ve reached their goal. Again, this doesn’t affect the her acting or quality of the drama which I think is superb!
The overall quality of this drama might be 8/10 but… - Chemistry between ML & FL: 10/10 - ML & FL level of likeability: 10/10 - The amount of joy and serotonin boost i got from watching this drama: 1000/10!! and as far as i’m concerned that’s all that matters <33
It really bothers me how FL’s costumes and wigs are really ugly throughout the drama. Like ik they’re not that low on the costume budget since Leng Yue and other female characters have pretty clothes and wigs. I was hoping the FL dresses better or more elegantly as the story goes on but ehhh :/ ik the clothes don’t dictate her character but idk it just really bothers me.
Fell in love with his acting in Once We Get Married so now i’m watching The Imperial Coroner. And since he’s gonna be The Longest Promise now I’ve more reason to look fwd to it on top of Xiao Zhan.
ik yang zi’s fandom try to boycott this drama bc it was forced on her or something but i can’t help it i really wanna watch it after seeing the trailer, it looks so promising and interesting and her character seems more likeable than in AOL 😭
Ahh really? Just to be sure Ep34 is when FL discovered Qiu Yanzhi is her sister not Qiu Yanzhi discovered FL is her sister, righr? (i’m guessing Qiu Yanzhi would’ve found out sooner than FL herself).
Love his contemporary drama but I really reeeally wish he’ll take up more wuxia / xianxia roles like in Handsome Siblings bc he looks really great in costume!
ik he said filming a period drama was a bit stressful, but honestly he did great in The Wolf! I hope he’ll do more 40+ episodes wuxia drama in the future, idk if it’s what he likes bc his filmography has mostly been in modern setting, but it’s such a waste if he passes on more period drama bc it suits him so well!
