This drama was initially meant to have 58-60ish episodes but had to be cut down to 40 due to new regulations in China, so perhaps they’ve decided to sacrifice those scenes to make room for the later parts of the story.

Thought Tian Huan was gonna die a quick death, I’m glad Sang Jiu gets to dip that bitch in the spring water she deserves that and more.

I’m truly enjoying and invested in this dream arc but I also want it to end fast because I can’t handle the pain and the angst it’s too much, especially knowing that no matter how much I root for Sang Jiu and Ming Ye it’s gonna end tragically.

I hope Tian Huan doesn’t die too easily in Ep17. I don’t wanna see Sang Jiu make the kill swift I need to see that bitch tortured and afraid before she dies.

i was initially uninterested in the dream arc, but ep 14, 15, 16 seriously got me hooked and INVESTEDDDDD.

and can someone spoil me. obviously Ming Ye and Sang Jiu’s love story is gonna end in tragedy, but before she dies will she at least find out Ming Ye did love her or will she die not knowing at all?

With that said though I do find the misunderstanding / miscommunication / love triangle plot in EP13 a bit stupid and have been done a thousand times. Does the immortal realm not have a single maid who likes to spy/snitch and accidentally tell Ming Ye what happened. And Ming Ye if you miss your wife just go find her it can’t really be that hard???

I really need to gush about EP14! I’ve seen my fair share of xianxia/wuxia c-drama, and honestly the CGI + costume + studio setting of EP14 ALONE could’ve rivalled most big budget action/fantasy movies! Never thought Youku was this rich they really be putting all of their money into this drama. And it was really very very well done! (I can’t comment on the fight choreography since I’m not well-versed enough to judge that, but the CGI and everything else is really ABOVE anything you’d expect for a drama level). Feels like the only way to do EP14 justice is to watch it on a cinema-sized screen.

i’m a WeTV and iqiyi long time VIP subscriber but never found it worth subscribing to Youku before (most of the time i’ll just wait till their drama is available all episodes) but this drama finally made me cave!

where did i even mention the fake abs i literally only said ‘side bangs’ and ‘hairstyle’

watching this drama for Bai JingTing but end up rekindling my love for Xu Weizhou. i would like to thank whoever decided to put these 2 together.

it’s been a while since i watch a series WHILE it airs and i dived right in because it’s bai jingting and now i kinda regret it because i don’t have enough patience to wait for the next episodessss pls iqiyi !!

I’m so confused why i like this drama. Like.. there’s nothing particularly special about it, it’s just a “husband-and-wife who’s not in love yet but do treat each other nicely” slice of life which centers around food with the prince brothers’ harem in the bground and yet i cannot stop watching.

I really wish we can see him in a period ancient drama again. Honestly in Handsome Siblings the script itself really didn’t give Hua Wuque much to do other than standing and looking pretty. Given a good script (probably a a story that’s more on court politics rather than wuxia) i think he can nail the role.

I’ve been loving his dramas in the past 2 years but this year nothing really hits me.
