Finally finished watching. The guy who plays Ming Yi (Luo Zishang’s right hand man) is wayy too good looking to just be a small support role. I hope he’ll get bigger roles in the future!
i’m currently at Ep 15-16 and OMG this drama has been on my plan-to-watch list for so long (ever since it was announced) and idk what took me so long to finally watch it, but it’s an instant 9.9/10 for me!!
It gets better with every episode. Such a moving story, you feel like you grow up and mature together with the characters. And once in a while you take a peek into the child in you.
Tian Jia Rui is such a breakout star here, can’t believe it’s his debut role! Also this drama changed my perception of Yu Shuxin, i wish she’ll take on more ‘solemn’ roles like this she’s good at it.
Joy of Life S2 took over 4 years and managed to get most of their main casts back, would I be delusional if I’m hoping for the same with this one? 😭
Not a genre i’m interested in, but will definitely be checking it out for the sake of the casts alone (especially Tia nJia Rui!). Hopefully i’ll be hooked.
I feel like it’s been a while, why haven’t this show aired yet? last time when the coming soon trailer dropped on iqiyi it looks almost complete already. What happened??
This drama easily gone up to my #1 top drama in the idol period drama genre. Every second of it is so good, no fillers in the story every scene was purposeful either to build the characters or move the plot. THE FL & ML CHEMISTRY IS AMAZING, and the 2nd couple and supporting characters also have interesting individual stories of their own. Zhang Jingyi and Hu Yitian did great enough job as the leads, i don’t feel like they’re lacking in anyway.
Overall this is a very inspiring story of FEMALE PERSEVERANCE. More than enough brownie points for me to ignore the very minor flaws that it has (such as realisticially there’s no way the FL could’ve build her business empire to the extent that it was in like less than 8 months).
it’s a pity that hu yitian didn’t act more in period dramas. his modern dramas can really be a hit or a miss. hu yitian’s acting agent, pls get him more historical roles! 🤲🏼
omg the ending is so wtf, i couldn’t even have predicted that!
honestly in the first ep you’d see Papang’s character (Pu) sleeping with another person on the night of his wedding and you’d think ergh what a jerk, and by the end of the show you’d realise surprisingly he’s the MOST SAINT among them all (+Khun) and the only one deserving of the happy ending among the pool party attendees.
I watched AOL 3 years ago but dropped it at Ep24. Now due to having TTEOTM withdrawal, I’ve decided to give AOL a second chance.
At which episode does the FL finally stops being childish and becomes more mature/wise?
(she did become quite mature in the mortal arc episode that i stopped at, but would that continue or will she revert to her childish self once that mortal life is over?)
All this time I thought this drama is gonna be angsty (judging from sinopsis and the wrap up special video). But based on the new trailer that came out yesterday… is it more of a romcom? (with the more serious political parts brewing in the background kinda like New Life Begins)?
