Maybe you shouldn't comment on things you know nothing about then? This is very clear case of hit and run.
Yea but is the author here using it in a legal sense? No. And if we are talking about legality, she wasn't prosecuted legally was she? I know Jin Chen only by her name and face, I don't know anything about her beyond that but I know she's not someone with a cult following either

Hit and run at least in English language means you hit someone and runs without dealing with the consequences. In this case, Xu was left to deal with the consequences for her and there was no one injured. As long as the house wall and whatever public thing she hit she paid for it eventually, who cares if she went to the hospital to get her face fixed.

I mean he had no other place to go tho, and I'm not exactly should whether lawyers can be friends with their clients or not. I know judges are strictly prohibited, but I also read somewhere that lawyers can even defend their own family members. Regardless she seemed competent at her job and focused on defending her client vs. fangirling over her every moment. I feel like for most shows you can't really take it as something that happens in real life, there's always loopholes in the logic somewhere lol.

To me, a show that had no obvious shortcomings and was great to watch deserves an 8. A 8.5 would be that with a great message or very good romance/chemistry or very interesting plot. I personally don't see any of these qualities in this show, although I'm sure it could be argued otherwise. I think most people felt the same way as me? where it was a good show but not extraordinary, but I'm sure there are also people who loved it a lot.

Yea that's how I rationalized ML's immature behavior to myself too, but honestly if it wasn't that the other band member falsified confessed he could have been put into jail.

Chemistry is subjective I agree, and I would not say there was 0 romance at all. It's just not enough for me personally to ignore all of the other shortcomings of the show.

Still was a decent show for me! There wasn't anything wrong with it by all means.

I think the lawyer FL was really professional in the series though. Despite whatever delusional thoughts she had as a fan, she didn't really bring it into her dealing with the case.

I agree this show is probably better binge-watched. The show focused way to much on the murder at the beginning for it to gives an underwhelming murder reveal, I was very invested in the murder plot that I assumed it would be something very elaborate. Except it was literally just the ex going crazy at that moment.
The romance wasn't really built well also, and I didn't feel a lot of chemistry between the FL and ML. ML's character was also quite immature and annoying, especially in episode 7 when he kept refusing a lawyer despite firing the FL.
Regardless it's a fine show that I would probably have thought better of if I waited until everything came out and binge watched at once.

Can someone tell me what is the endearing name they have for Se Na the lawyer? I heard how they say it throughout…
It sounded a lot like 冷面 (cold noodles) in Chinese so I found it quite cute as well. I don't know what the actual word is but I'm curious too. Someone please tag me with the answer to this!

Okay, I have a big question. Was this drama supposed to have more than 12 episodes? The last 3 episodes felt rushed,…
I watched 2 ep per week and it felt extremely dragged in the middle. Episode 7? I think was literally the ML having a tantrum and acting like he was 12 years old, thank god that only lasted an episode but it was one episode too much. 12 episodes was more than enough if they actually utilized it well, I think it was just bad writing near the end.

I think what the intent here is that the police were incompetent and/or they were told to wrap it up very quickly…
It's fine if there were hints it was a bad investigation for X, Y, and Z reasons because bad investigations happen in real life quite often. But this wasn't really communicated throughout the 12 episodes... (or maybe I fast forwarded too much at the end and missed it)

I agree it's a great show compared to the really awful and boring k-dramas and c-dramas we've been seeing lately, but 8.5 is quite high for this.

If you compare it with some of the masterpieces rated 9, it's like not even comparable. For reference, flower of evil, reply 1988, crash landing on you are all rated 9.

I liked Idol I and I still think it's dragged out in the middle. There's definitely K-dramas that work well with 16 episodes when there's actually a very complicated story.

This one feels like even 10 episodes is more than enough to finish the story and wrap it up well w/ character development because there just wasn't that much actual content if you think about it. If this was a Detective Conan episode, we'd be done in 30 minutes.

You put what I thought in words exactly! I was quite surprised to find out that the ML was a legit actor and FL was an idol from SNSD, because I assumed it would be the opposite. The ML seemed to struggle with portraying complex emotions, and it didn't help that the writers made him slightly self-centered and annoying at the beginning which didn't help the audience connect with him.

Exactly! The ending just proved how dragged out the case was, it's such an easy "mystery" to solve if the police actually did their job.
