I mean I was only listing the top-notch ones from Netflix only (just to say Netflix didn't do anything bad here), but I get your point.

I think it's the general trend of people with shorter attention spans because of COVID and kids addicted to TikTok growing up plus those who focus only on visuals. It just doesn't promote good script writing anymore. In fact, I think it ruined C-dramas in the same way where I pretty much stopped watching C-dramas after 2020.

I honestly don't think Netflix is at fault, a lot of the best k-dramas after 2020 were produced/invested by Netflix. We have: When Life Gives You Tangerines, The Glory, Squid Game, Move To Heaven, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, etc. People complain about the 12 episode standard Netflix set, but let's be real most of the series where people complain were so bad that 12 episodes were too much. WLGYT which came out in 2025 is an example of a drama where 16 episodes is needed and most episodes served a purpose, and Netflix gave it 16 eps. CTLBT is an example that it was already dragging on at ep 6 I don't think 16 eps would have helped with anything.

I initially gave it a 8.5 but after watching ML's other drama Hometown CCC, I knocked it down to 8. It finally reminded me what a romcom is suppose to be, cute, funny, and mostly filled with wholesome lessons. It reminded me of the days when I would binge watch romcoms and not force myself to finish it. And even if we don't view this as a romcom, it failed in conveying the main message about learning to communicate and everyone speaking their own language. I would say that 1 star absolutely has to go to Alberta, Canada and the beautiful scenery at the different locations and how the first few episodes were very good. Without those things, it's absolutely a 7 star drama.

something random but even tho i lived in Canada for quite awhile a long time ago, i was surprised with how beautifully they were able to film Canada. it made me appreciate Canada's scenery that I've never been able to before

ngl it wasn't healing, it was really frustrating with the typical misunderstanding trope, which i'm fine with if it's one episode but it was the majority of episodes in this drama. It started off really strong and crashed and burned really quickly. i can't complain about it being 12 eps, or else i'd be fast forwarding through more episodes than I already did. the first couple of episodes was so good tho, it was better than anything i've watched in awhile and then it crashed and burned after ep 5 or so.

Very comfortable watch for me, trauma at the end was more than I expected but handled well. I gave it a 9.5 but only subtracted 0.5 for the cliches especially meeting as a child and her calling the police for him.

Nah I won't complain about budget used well, everything was beautiful

He thought that she didn't like him and was playing with him. Especially later when since she would transform into Do la-mi and give him mixed signals.

I liked it, it did fall off a little for me at the end

It's cuz at least in Europe and U.S/Canada there's at least laws that protect employees to some extent. China, Korea, Japan has some laws, but it's not really enforced and people end up being overworked.

ngl i haven't watched all of the kdramas out there yet, but the level of script writing and directing for my mister and wlgyt are top 5% at least of all time. I don't think we'll get those scripts anytime soon (at least from what i've seen in 2025 and 2026) :C

I mean he is tall and handsome, so I do like seeing him on my screen lol. His acting is good enough to have chemistry with both FL in lovely runner and with IU in this, I think it's good enough for me. If the day comes where he takes a more serious drama and have the same acting, I think that's the day I won't like him

I think there was a lot of hate when ep1 came out especially on X. Probably because we have IU and Byeon Woo Seok and it was hyped too much, but in reality it's just a nice little romcom

cuz it's a romcom and most romcoms are mostly suppose to be cringe, it's not really a kdrama thing except that kdramas film a lot of romcoms

Perfect Crown based on the first episode I think I can describe it well using the most Chinese description. 下饭. It's a good drama to watch while eating XD. I think you can actually kind of see it as a Disney show, where the visual, cast, and cinematography is more of what drives the show, where the plot is just there with nothing special and nothing controversial. My best guess based on the first episode though, maybe it could surprise me somehow later on.

I didn't watch it for the actors either, I only knew IU's name at that point and seen her in another drama My Mister (another masterpiece btw), but I didn't have any particular feelings about her. I didn't know who Park Bo Gum was actually or any of the other casts at all (never seen them, never heard of them).

You haven't even watched one episode of WLGYT though?

WLGYT rating is not overrated at all, you'd know if you just watch the first episode. It's a very profound piece that is split into four chapters that is a metaphor for the four seasons of life, and it tells the story of three generations of people. The main selling point is the interactions and love between parents and their children, it's a very realistic drama.
