Its a middle ground of myth and reality for me. As is the case with anything that enters the mainstream media, things start adapting to cater to the masses it is now also trying to please. In the case of Korean Dramas, as what happened to the K-pop industry, music becomes excessively Western pleasing since the West is suddenly VERY interested (not that it wasn't, it just didnt really invest) and includes aspects that you would not have normally seen in these dramas years ago. And the unfortunate consequence of things entering mainstream, is (displeasing) change.

That said, I think the shift to Western streaming platforms bringing these dramas to their watchers, gave certain writers to be bold and less censored in certain storylines that they wished to write and bring to life, and some actors embraced that opportunity. I believe that is how Squid Game managed to come to life? (correct me if I'm wrong)
However, at the same time, it resulted in losing that 'purity' or 'Korean culture' that you enjoyed in the newer dramas - if this was something you wished for.

I disagree with the saturation of tropes. Its a symptom of all genres, is time-period influenced and exists in any medium that has genres and country wide. Books are the same in this regard. The 2010s had their fair share of overused tropes, the 2015-2021 period has seen its fair share of those tropes including the chaebol ML and 'poor'/middle class FL (employee). You will see the same rehashed trope and plot-progression but different story and characters. But thats the universal understanding of romance genre tropes- its there, its relatively consistent and for those that eat it all up (like me) can keep getting more of it but different font whenever.

I'm pretty sure it starts where it ended in S1, so I'd say yes you have to 🤭
I definitely recommend the first season tho. its such great world-building

I hope it has romance this time. Hospital Playlist could've been a great drama if it had romance. Unfortunately,…
Idk where you're getting this from but both seasons of Hospital Playlist have romance in them??? Its just not your usual rom-com story that tends to be have its story progression centred on one specific couple. Rather it progresses differently with its time flow....

id double check you're talking about the right drama

Although I ate up Goblin's storyline..this seems to be rehashing the same and I'm seeing too many reused scenes so it feels repetitive oof. Am not in the mood for this kind of storyline again so its a drop for me :') -- the tags aren't helping either rip.

Title Not Others
I don't understand taking a dislike to well written realistic characters. Somehow it doesn't make sense to me.…
exactly!!! i'm pretty sure this show is not meant to follow the same plot progression and character storylines as usual cliché romcoms, hence why you don't get unnecessary focuses on just the romantic relationships. its okay to feel frustrated for the immaturity at times but its nice to see that the main lead mom isn't your usual perfect strong female lead but rather one that fits her character and has her ups and downs.

what would one expect of someone who lost out on the teenage experiences and tantrums due to being a teen mom? she would miss out on continuing to be the teenager she is for her child, and only later on in her life when she's comfortable and done her duty can she let go and be immature. i love that they give the mother that quirk, albeit at the cost of some frustrating encounters. but so be it!

Worth to watch for a romance?
the younger couple is slow developing so might need some waiting for the whole show to be done. if u don't mind the older couples developing should be oke

idk what the comments say I think the plot progression and focuses are great on the pairings! one is fast paced, another is a slow burn. hyped for the last 4 eps 🫢🫢

exactly!! her acting is great but I feel like they missed out on shelling out what she so greatly did. In episode…
she definitely gave a charm that's hard not to miss. I do think the og naksu actress gave a charm that I quite enjoyed too... but so much lost potential. oh welp ;-; I live for the jang uk & crown Prince moments, so they make 2nd season tolerable * chefs kiss *

i lit fully agree w this, pt 1 easily made aos one of my fav kdramas of all time, but szn 2 knocked it down for…
exactly!! her acting is great but I feel like they missed out on shelling out what she so greatly did. In episode 8, when she regained her memories and had that whole scene with the plaque and proving Jin Buyeon's powers, I was like "FINALLY HER PERSONALITY IS BACK" and then ;-;

I recommend if you enjoyed storyline and drama types like The Glory and are looking for something fresh. The pacing is decent, the plot is not bad. I personally find the acting a bit iffy with some characters but the whole insta realm just kept me going and I loved it.

the test showing preggo is def not mirae. its probs hae-yoon couple. they've mashed up scenes again for the sake of unnecessary anticipation as usual

I can tell even mirae doesn’t look pregnant in the scenes of preview , the pregnancy holding kit scene and showing…
Ye for sure haha. They love weaving stuff up to make u anticipate drama when 90% of the time its not as intense as the preview and partly true here and there.

For those who often get confused about previews at the end of episodes wherein some scenes don't show up, many…
The preview for episode 37 (which was shown in 36) ended up coming up in Episode 38 wherein Hyunjae was devastated after finding about Mirae. They were oblivious to it in ep 37 and i was so sure it was happening then.

The preview for Episode 39 (shown in Episode 38) had the dialogue along the lines of "you only care about jung eun right now" but it actually ends up coming up in Episode 40 instead.

It is likely that the ex's scene might be in the 41st episode instead of the one rn.
On It's Beautiful Now Aug 15, 2022
For those who often get confused about previews at the end of episodes wherein some scenes don't show up, many of them are often part of the episode after the next rather than the upcoming episode. I'll share an example for those who have seen Episode 37-38 and 39-40 below.

They tend to add in cuts of scenes that are in a much later episode for the sake of adding an edge for the next epi. so when u see previews take it with a grain of salt episode wise for dialogues, and just anticipate but be oke if some scenes don't show up. they're just probs in the next ep or sth

Episodes 33 and 34 really got me sobbing. Grandma passing away brought back my own memories as a grandchild realising their grandparent is gone and not sure how to comfort one's parent as they are just as sad if not more :(((
