i actually prefer the drama’s ending over the novel’s ending mentioned on the discussion board.
what they did was unlawful, but their conscience stopped there — and i feel the same way. they acted to reclaim their freedom, not out of a desire for blood, so i can’t bring myself to blame them.
in the later episodes, they were anxious because they knew they were legally in the wrong. serving prison time eased that burden. i believe they don’t regret what happened, and that’s what allows them to genuinely enjoy the life they have afterward.
yeah the theories are most likely right. her mother was on the death door, doyoung suddenly died, doha pretended to be doyoung to not burden her more than she already was. she hated him for lying, and also because she couldn’t grieve for doyoung’s death properly. that’s why she’s still a mess right now. she is yet to emotionally process this.
Why do I believe that Lee Kyung will try to stay close to Eunsoo somehow in the end? His family betrayed him badly, yet he still wants to live. So I guess having the FL — the one who comforted him the most — in his life, even if not romantically, will help him move on and walk toward a better life.
i’m on ep5. it’s fast paced, fun and entertaining. i don’t think they should have named him iblis. i heard that it represents the big devil in muslim. it appears to me that the ML is not a big devil. he’s just a very anti-human spirit and he probably lost his original lover in exchange of saving the humanity.
i have read that in the chinese movie, to break the curse, she needs to return the feelings verbally, like saying i love you back.
if the drama is also going this way, they are doing a great job with the detailed analysis of each aspect of the curse. because, at some point, they will tackle the 'antidote'.
it’s interesting that the writer hasn’t released her next work until now. seems like she’s very invested with eaw universe. so even though we won’t get s2, she might do a spin off or another connected story.
this is actually the most entertaining (along with study group) on my plate right now. the stories regarding intimacy are treated with such care, which kdramas seldom do. because they often junp over it in modern dramas and paint it as scandalous in saeguks.
i also like the power dynamics of a princess and a rich merchant. she’s driven, and in a higher position than him. while he’s a manly man with sparkling eyes, who’s obviously willing to be under her command, yet still be a man with conviction. i have a feeling that he will be the princess’ guide as she explores love and intimacy in this ancient times.
it creates the right tension of the push and pull while they are dancing between purity and sexy.

i don’t love how they introduced this arc but we’ll see.
