On Until We Meet Again Jul 26, 2022
I feel like this must've been quite a revolutionary Thai drama back when all the other BL protagonists were too busy trying to prove that they can love their male wifeys while still being straight. However it has unfortunately not transcended its time and if this came out now it'd probably be labelled as pretty underwhelming.

On the other hand though, it's making me feel quite hopeful for the future. If this was regarded as some of the best titles in 2019, seeing how much better the dramas in every following year were proves that the Thai BL industry is changing for the better very fast and we should keep seeing improvements in the future as well.

i just wanted to ask in what episode will be side couple story scenes, couse i'm in episode 7 and i'm feeling…
They literally get no relationship development before getting together and even after that they have very little scenes. If you're only watching this for the side couple, I recommend you to just fast forward each episode to the 5 minutes of screen time these two get.

Honestly, the things that have interested me about this the most so far are all the miniscule changes to the universe (love the erasure of homophobia and those can cups which can conveniently hide alcohol brands) and the distinct clothing style of the main characters lol.
Puen/Tun mostly wears neutral or faded colours (especially blue) with clean designs; jeans and simple t-shirts, sometimes with a jacket on top. Tess/Talay, on the other hand, prefers bright colours with symmetrical designs on his tops. What I find the most interesting about his clothing is that in each episode he has mostly worn the colour corresponding to the title of current or previous episode. So in ep 1 he always had a blue piece of clothing and in 2 it's been a mixture of green and blue (except for one fully white fit, a brown sweater and the school uniform). Going off that, my prediction for the next ep's name is "Salmon Pink" :)

I have no idea if this observation is relevant to the story, though I reckon some colour theory would be very fitting for this drama. It's just something I wanted to share mostly because it's one of the best character designs I've seen in a drama and I'd love to see more creativity like this in the future.

(Also in relation to my observation there's an Easter egg I'd noticed in last ep: during Talay's first meeting with the universe travellers circle Dol was the only person in the room who wasn't wearing a piece of blue clothing. So if that was a hint at a future plotline, it was quite a clever way to do it).

I've started paying extra attention to memorising their clothing and that has been working quite well for me so…
Yeah, I did have to manually remember all the changes in clothing, but I'd rather do that than be confused lol.
Also I'm glad this isn't a college setting and they aren't all wearing the exact same uniform because in that case I'd be absolutely lost in figuring out who's who

I'm so confused lol I wish they didn't keep showing different faces and different names, it's hard to keep track
I've started paying extra attention to memorising their clothing and that has been working quite well for me so far so maybe you could try that for the next episode :)

Are we absolutely sure that this has only 6 episodes? Because it really doesn't feel like the story can reach any conclusion by then at this pace.

I personally hadn't lowered my rating either, but I did see quite a lot of people saying they were disappointed with it which gave me the impression that some of them did lower their overall score by .5 or 1 star. I guess that group wasn't as big as a thought though, seems like most of us kept our higher ratings.

If you have an experience with actual criticism then I understand your approach even more. For us who have no idea about how to review dramas/films objectively it is difficult to figure out which factors to consider and how to disconnect personal feelings from our impression of the media. I personally indeed wouldn't lower the rating of my favourite drama lol.
But I think it's admirable you're still sticking to your principle of rating everything based on criticism instead of being like everyone else and adding in some personal opinions.

And thank you too for sharing your own perspective because it's nice to hear about other approaches and the thought process of someone who rates dramas differently compared to majority!

I'm quite surprised that Triage is now the top rated BL drama on this site because I was expecting the rating to slightly decrease after the finale.
Well, I'm curious if the position is going to last or whether the raised expectations of new viewers will lead them to go for lower scores.

In my case if I only have a 10 to the dramas which I thought had no flaws, nothing would ever get that rating from me lol. I tend to give extra stars to dramas which leave a deep impression on me, are able to make me sympathise with the characters and make me feel any kind of strong emotion while watching (and similarly deduct stars if the opposite happens). It's how I add the personal bias into my ratings since I think my own enjoyment should be a part of the evaluation, though I still do consider all the objective aspects as well.
But I completely respect your way of rating too. It also does make perfect sense to reserve the highest score for a very few selected dramas which can meet all your standards rather than being like me and giving out 10s to dramas of which issues I can clearly point out. It's understandable that we have different criteria and standards.

Also there are so many reasons why ratings will never be reliable which is why I always read top reviews instead.

I completely agree with you, when I started watching this after 9 episodes were released I got so into the story that I'd binge-watched it faster than any other drama before.
However, the last 3 episodes have just felt too unexciting. All the episodes seemed to have just gone by and the only shocking thing were the sudden unjustified changes in characters and relationships in the last loop which just made me feel like I'd missed a whole episode. The story was simply missing something that could create suspense and then deliver the final plotwist.

I did still give it 10 stars since it has reached the top of standard compared to other BLs, but it's a huge shame this is yet another drama which has fallen a victim to its lack of episodes and the amazing writing of the majority of the story fell apart at the very end.

Apparently its something in Thai culture, I once saw a video explaining all of it, it is not to be taken as heteronormative.…
I actually agree with the opinion in the video that even if it might be something real couples call each other, it shouldn't really be spread through the media.
Because especially in Thailand/Asia BLs seem to be mostly watched by young straight females who aren't really educated on how same-sex relationships work and this can give them the idea that everything revolves around the partners' sex positions combined with heteronormality. In my opinion companies producing BL dramas should hold a certain responsibility over how they're presenting the relationships and avoid spreading stereotypes as to make the viewers more understanding of and open towards real life same-sex couples. There doesn't need to be the extremely correct representation because that's usually what makes western "BLs" boring lol. But I think we can afford to avoid scenes which spread the harmful stereotypes at the cost of refraining from cultural correctness.

Thank you for sharing your opinion though! I may have a different one , but I totally understand where you're coming from.

This is very well said!
I completely agree. That previous loop when Tin got close to Tol served as a confirmation of his feelings so when he looped back and remembered Tol, Tin was determined to push for a romantic relationship instead of just friendship. Tin did not need to flirt with Tol to stop him from chasing after Mai at the party so it was something he wanted to do himself.

Not one of the bestIt's the best. No BL can ever
I'd say there are a few possible candidates depending on the criteria people choose their favourite drama by.
I can definitely see Triage being the best in multiple categories, but there are for sure people who prefer a bigger focus on relationships, more lighthearted stories, etc :)

Another incredible episode. You know the writing and direction are on point when you're holding your breath, waiting…
Also on the topic of tropes, I almost got scared at that moment when Tol started looking through Tin's notes and found the "make Tol my boyfriend" one. If this followed the clichés, Tol would've absolutely misunderstood and started thinking that Tin only showed romantic interest to get himself out of the loop. But thankfully we had none of that here and Tol did not just disregard all the sweet moments between them which showed how healthy their relationship already is and was much better than dragged-out drama 😊

When It finished I came over here to read people's comments to help me process what I just watched.
