atp i am pretty sure they're gonna kill off Hai Xia (I need to stop loving characters who're doomed by the narrative it hurts everytime). The Bailejing arc is kinda boring to me, but I am loving them in the ethnic wear(also ZHX in that suit??? he looks extra pretty after turning evil). I like that we're seeing more of Hai Qi too (she's so funny i need more of her with that chief girl) !!

I'd say 11/10, esp in the first half. there's a ton of angst tho

I feel like calling ZW “a selfish fl” is such a mischaraterization. She just prioritises her grandma - the only family she basically has rn over LXX, but even then, she did a lot for him. Her ways of caring for LXX isn't as over-the-top as his. She supports him, defends him, and encourages him to do the thing he truly loves. She isn't very expressive, but she shows that she cares. I feel like today's ep really shows the contrast between him and her - he wants her to tell everything about herself, and to rely on him, while she doesn't bother to ask questions, and that is her way of being considerate. I really love their dynamic! They are both miserable, and abandoned by their parents, and are grieving one of their parent. They don't have a parental figure to rely on, and it shows in their actions. Also, I love artistic main characters in love, and when their muse is their lover :3

people do that sometimes when writing a review for an ongoing drama... its usually to support their favs or hate on something for no reason

ZW is LXX's soon-to-be stepsibling, while LXX is JY's half-brother. their love triangle is such a mess lmao. His mom beefing with a 18 year old and slutshaming ZW is so insane to me(i lowkey feel like JY is gonna turn evil. not a big fan of evil smls, but ig its better than being annoying for no reason) Also I am glad ML found out about everything, but I don't understand how the big misunderstanding between them is gonna happen anymore?

the plot seems quite ridiculous (like wdym ML has “mastered medical knowledge across all departments”?) but Jin Ki Joo and Kim Sung Cheol are both my favs😭

lol real he feels like an actual teen here which i love. i read a bit of the novel cause i was so eager to know what's gonna happen in the show, and he's a playboy there, which i am not a fan of , and tbh it kinda felt like a wattpad story (no hate to wattpad, but it gave off wattpad mafia story vibes), so i am glad they made so many changes😭

she didn't want her mom to further doubt her relationship with LXX, and it'd be super sus if her mom got to know LXX drew something for her (i think?)

i am not really a big fan of this kinda trope but i am enjoying it so far. i like that the ml isn't a complete asshole and he actually communicates with the fl???( i wish fl learnt some of it from him cause i feel like he'd be a lot more understanding if he knew her situation) I really like Zhou Wan tho(i don't even think her actions are unjustified lol). But when I look at everything from ML's perspective, ZW basically hid that she's his to-be-step-sibling while he's flirting with her left and right(this kinda stuff would give me trauma for 3 generations)😭😭

Cause she didn't want her mom to know that LXX drew it for her (her mom was already suspecting their relationship), but GY still understood this, so she tore it apart, and said that their deal is over now. Also her mom knows that LXX is preparing his portfolio, and she didn't want her to know that she's helping him with his artwork. (i over-explained lol)

tbh i don't see either Hai Yan or Hai Qi killing Hai Xia(I do think Hai Xia would try to sacrifice himself or commit suicide tho) ? Zhang Qishan even said that the best way to cure someone from turning evil is to act oblivious to their evilness, and I think thats just what Hai Yan is gonna do(i also feel like him turning completely evil could be a red herring or something but maybe thats just me being biased)😭

i didn't really see it like that until the recent eps, and i really agree with what you said. she couldn't even get to be sad about the news of her illness, like they say the people who're the strongest often are also the weakestT-T

Also love how Hai Qi is just aura-farming while the MLs are crying, throwing up, and going through a mental breakdown every ep. I wish they made her character a bit more fleshed out tho cause i don't really feel her bond with the MLs as much? She's a really strong character, but I feel like they made her being strong everything.

Also can we talk about Hai Yan and Hai Xia's bond? You don't even see this kind of codependency in romance genre. I love their platonic mutual obsession. Their relationship has so much depth, and I don't think anything can explain their dynamic atp? They're eachother's everything - family, friend, soulmate. Hai Xia followed Hai Yan to his doom, and Hai Lan would actually follow him to death. They're so beautiful together, and I am actually going crazy over their bond.

I always have a love-hate relationship with characters like Hai Xia. He is so self-sacrificing, always ready to harm himself for the people around him, but he never thought about how him getting harmed would affect Hai Yan(in the recent ep, that go game really revealed why. he doesn't feel like Hai Yan “believes” in him). To him, being disabled is more scarier cause he's scared of being a burden, of relying on people, (even tho he constantly keeps proving that his brain works faster than enemies' weapons lol). He even had to imagine his pain from Hai Lou suffering it to be able to empathise with himself (I thought that scene would be a character development moment for him to accept his disability, but it just turned him even more suicidalT-T). He is actively planning his suicide atp, and it genuinely hurts me thinking that he has to suffer like this cause of other people's mistakes (not blaming the Hai Lan and Hai Qi, but Hai Lou made the mistake of revealing his identity, and Hai Qi couldn't bear Hai Lan also dying, so she told him about the “medicine”. Meanwhile, Hai Xia has done nothing wrong, and he has to get belittled, go mad, and eventually, die). It feels like the writers only wrote his character to suffer endlessly, and give Hai Yan character development (but then again, I don't think Hai Yan would be able to live without Hai Xia like this guy legit walked around with his “corpse”, made two caskets, and went to commit suicide. So either they both die together, or they live together, idk anymore this show is driving me crazy)

this gave me hope that he might be able to live since he almost died like twice and the show writers keep scaring me with his suicidal tendencies 😭
