Well produced film, but the story is too corny for me to handle. I could not connect with the characters, especially the main character, because we were not even given ample time to get to know them before we could even sympathize with them . Sigh.
Oh my, I'm on my second Han Hyo Joo fix in my life. I was first enamored by her when I saw W Two Worlds. And now I finished Happiness and enjoyed watching it weekly, I still can't seem to get enough of her. >_<
Siiigh. I love her so much. She deserves all the good things! <3
Quite possibly the most original premise out of all the series/films out there, with also a bit of a unique touch to it. The first few episodes felt like such a drag, but I'm glad I held on to it. And the acting of the cast did not disappoint!
It is also because of the time I spent with the characters they brought to life every week, that I got so emotionally invested in the story (albeit having guessed who the culprit was pretty early on), that the last minutes of the ending surprisingly made me teary-eyed.
I guess I can say I love this series despite the nay-sayers (good thing I didn't dwell too much on the criticisms). Certainly, I have underestimated writer-nim's prowess. I should not have. This just added more credibility to her portfolio.
I'm so gonna miss this. Weekends will never be the same. :((
Anyways, I agree that the last episode was a bit underwhelming, and there's a lot left for the audience to just figure out ourselves and never really explained. I would've appreciated an extra 30 minute epilogue just to give a glimpse of how every character was doing post-pandemic.
Buuut, it was overall a highly engaging series! Kept me annoyed (because of the selfishness of the other residence), puzzled, amazed, and almost every emotion I felt in this series.
Finally got to watch this!! This was a nice show that's light to watch, gives you tons of laughter, and also does not forget to show the realistic side of the transition from youth to adulthood. I love the ensemble so much. :)
Got a lil bit lost in the middlw because a lot of things were going on at the same time and at a fast pace, but when all of them made sense in the end, I felt relieved. And sad. That ending was heavy but heartfelt. Got a good cry out of it. Definitely a good family movie.
This is definitely a makjang, and personally, makjangs are make or break. From the get-go, the characters (especially the male lead and the stepmpm) are annoying, and situations are already ridiculously over-the-top. So I just switched my lenses and started watching it as a comedy show, and it somehow works for me. Can't help but cheer for Hyojoo's character. :))
Just finished my first proper rewatch (watched it first as it aired). And it only made stronger the fact that this is indeed my life drama and I'll never run out of love for it, the story, the characters, the actors, the music, everything. Goblin is about celebrating life itself, and I couldn't be more thankful for everyone that made this drama.
I don't think the romance is developed at all at this point and we aren't not supposed to really get into it...…
Lol agree. We can't help but really notice the product placements because they include close-up shots of the products first, then later zoom out to show the actors. So we are already "conditioned" to look at the product by the time they show the actors talking and whatnot. I'm really not a fan of these blatant product placements because they just keep distracting the viewers, and disrupting the pace, if there's too much (which is sadly the case in the drama). :(
Hoping they'd slow down on these product placements from now on.
I keep reading alot of people condemning kim go eun for her acting and her looks (which is horrible) I honestly…
Same here! I recently began stanning Go Eun just last month and I watched her films and dramas. All her characters are different from each other--from the way they talk, the mannerisms, the poise. Every little bit of detail that she adds to her characters is just perfect. *chef's kiss*
Can't help but admire her deeply. Truly one of Korea's finest actors.
I also highly recommend The Rebel (2017). It wonderfully showcases her true acting range. It won't disappoint!

Kudos to the entire production team!
