Then I'm glad i didn't even know of this production beforehand and missed all that nastiness. Cos they are both lovely, individually and together. They play very well together off screen as well.
Love it! Especially the way they are dressed here. Really weird, the more i look at WL and ZLS in this drama, the more I feel like they are well matched together.
I think from recollection of having read somewhere on the chats, he uses her greed and dealings with her uncle…
Yes, he's had longer experience dealing with these kind of conspiracies and political intrigue and intricacies. He seems to give people enough rope to hang themselves, before he goes in to finish the task completely 😅

LBY's style of dealing with things seems to be to stalk, pounce like a cougar when the ripe opportunity presents itself and cut off the head of the snake completely. There is no comeback when he strikes. He bides his time, acting only once he has enough evidence and can do an all kill.
CSS's approach is more of immediate retaliation. Might be effective for the current situation but doesn't preclude longer term annoyance or trouble.
Did the hitting of niao niao by Princess no 3 happen in novel n how did lby do about it? Anyone want to give spoiler…
I think from recollection of having read somewhere on the chats, he uses her greed and dealings with her uncle to stitch her up. As to her punishment, i forgot exactly what it will be. Whether it's being stripped of wealth, titles etc and banished. Because what she's currently doing on the side will tarnish the royal family's image. And when it comes to light, the Emperor and Consort Yue won't go easy on her. She's been repeatedly warned. Even by her mother. He looks like he knows a fair bit of what she's doing already by keeping an eye on them, and had given her fair warning in Ep 28 to cease and desist.
But someone else here, who has read the novel, might have a more accurate answer on this.
Omg same, puts me right back in the feels. I know for spotify, they've one song... It's this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaOkOgudwNA&t=7sPretty…
YS's dig at CSS for giving herself in marriage in order to gain power was nasty. But CSS sharing her fears on the power imbalance in her marriage to LBY was a great turning point for them.
The very same power over her that CSS was dreading in her marriage with LBY (and a power she'd observed often abused by others and very much prevalent in the patriarchal society of that time), is now being wielded in a most effective way by LBY to provide her with a platform to speak her mind and be herself. A refreshing and welcome change within the social strictures of that time.
LBY can even override the Emperor (Ep 28) to give her that voice to speak 😅 And SS looking to him before speaking shows the growth that's happened in their relationship; one that isn't about submission to authority or power but a respect between equals of the same understanding. That she is confident in how he views her as an equal, and won't silence her but guide her as to when it's best to speak her mind.
Every episode is a gem. But can i just say that I'm very much looking forward to post Ep 33 where SS declares that she'll begin treating LBY "so well to the point that he'll be annoyed"? 🤩
Interesting detail from SS fleshbacks in the end of episode 27, where we can see she very worries about his injury…
That's why she's 'special' 😍 She is the only one who ever asks if it hurts. And her first concern when he turns up in Ep 28 .. an assessing look at his leg 😂
The attention to detail in direction is excellent. Just love how the camera angle captured SS's view at the start of Ep 27, from waking to courtyard. Including LBY's waist in that sequence is exactly how one's view might look from that angle.

Just my personal observation.
