This episode has Yi Fei looking out for his gf soon ex. He makes sure she has funds to get a place if things don’t work out in Milan. Qian Fei is learning that front desk work will take more time to get worked up. She can take a huge pay cut or sign waivers that she will not get married or have children for five years. 😝🙄😬Yi Fei is seeing her struggle and offers a different route for cash. He will pay for cleaning services. He made her realize that just getting a job to pay the bills was not in her best interest career wise. 😂🤣 The reaction from his friend having all his legendary gear given away. If that doesn’t encourage him to find his own place nothing will. 😂🤣He gets very drunk and finds himself tossed to the ground by his favorite bartender. Yi Fei and colleague are trying to find out why the company is making so little progress and doing data checks twice as often by having joint sponsorshi. He is wanting to know how the competition works first so he has be deep diving into their data processing and working from home til he figures out why the numbers are the way they are. Qian Fei worries about him being depressed after breakup and his responses or lack thereof are quite funny. We are shown the ex bf at his new job with his new gf amd I can only say….who cares?😝🙄 Yi Fei is trying to prove to his dad that he can thrive on his own without ‘daddy’s’ money. He is actually quite good at what he does but Qian Fei has no clue who he really is in the corporate world and values Ms Fang a lot more. He is not happy with this comparison because he finds her lacking for reasons he has not divulged yet. Since YiFei can help her fill in money gaps by maintenance on her home she is realizing she wants to go back and try to get the team job she was offered. Her old boss was not enthused with the photo so what was once a sure bet is only a 50/50 shot now. These two look after each other while simultaneously wanting to be as far from the other as possible. 😂🤣 She cooks very well and Yi Fei shamelessly begs for food and coffee pleading ignorance at providing the labor for himself. 😝🤣He has paid for the floor damage his gf caused and has stepped in to get her venue date transferred so she can get her deposit back. She still has over 25k debt on her card and this she finds more depressing than losing her bf and job. She has been so meticulous with her finances and her wannabe mother in law has caused her serious financial hurt. That is compounded by her dad using his life’s savings to get her the apartment she wanted. She still has not fessed up to her parents yet. Wait til Yi Fei’s friend finds out his bartender crush likes the same game and has some of his legendary gear. Next episode should tell us if Qian Fei has any luck getting the job with her workplace idol, Ms Famg.

After everything Ye Li has endured, this episode finally gave us a deeper look into the scars she still carries. Watching her confront the pain of her past while trying to remain composed was heartbreaking. Bai Lu portrayed every emotion beautifully — the sadness, the loneliness, and the strength that keeps Ye Li moving forward despite everything she has lost. One of the most touching parts of the episode was seeing how Mo Xiuyao stayed by Ye Li’s side. He may not always express his feelings with words, but his concern and quiet support spoke volumes. Their relationship continues to develop through trust and understanding rather than dramatic declarations, which makes every interaction feel meaningful. The atmosphere throughout the episode was both tender and painful. The memories, the emotional conversations, and the lingering sense of loss made several scenes incredibly moving. At the same time, the episode strengthened the bond between the leads and showed how much they have come to rely on each other.

Episode 3 continued the improvements I started seeing in Episode 2 and I’m officially becoming invested in this drama.Poor Qian Fei cannot catch a break. She’s already dealing with the fallout from her breakup and now finds herself losing her job because of workplace jealousy. Watching everything pile up on her made me root for her even more. One thing I really enjoyed this episode was learning more about the male lead. We discover that he actually comes from money but wants to make something of himself rather than relying on family wealth. Unfortunately, his girlfriend doesn’t share the same values and ends up leaving him after learning he’s sold his house and car.The more the story develops, the more obvious it becomes that both leads have been hurt by people who value money over character.Qian Fei was easily my favourite character this episode. She keeps getting knocked down but refuses to completely give up, which makes her incredibly easy to root for.My favourite moment was seeing the male lead take care of Qian Fei when she was unwell. It was a simple scene, but it highlighted exactly why he’s becoming such a likeable character. Every episode he seems to add another green flag to the collection.Overall, this was another solid episode. The workplace drama added tension, the character development was strong, and the growing connection between the leads continues to feel natural.Current Verdict: Officially invested. Qian Fei deserves better, the male lead is rapidly becoming one of my favourite characters, and I’m waiting for karma to catch up with both exes.

I had a couple of nit-picks here and there along the way, but overall this was a fantastic series and this was a very satisfying wrap up. The only negatives are that both Zhou Yin and Duke Xue got off with quick deaths. They both deserved much worse endings. I'm still upset about Fang Yin. Poor Lyu Xian! I'm glad that Xue Shu resisted taking her poison. The Eunuch's face as he poured poison down her throat? That was my face.

Is someone pretending to be Cousin? I very strongly suspect so. One moment he seems like his normal self, but the other moment—like a completely different person. His sharp sense of smell also feels faulty or way weaker. Hailou also suspects something is not right. But in that case—where's Cousin? Is he alright? And who's disguised as Cousin? 🤔😮At least thanks to the hints on the money left by Haixia, they were able to reach the Archives... only now the question is—why did the fake Cousin help Hailou get here, and what does he want from the Archives? 🤨

The banter between the two is cute. The way the mls are so direct and coy makes this very intriguing and enticing.

🚨 Episode 2 Spoilers 🚨Episode ThoughtsEpisode 2 was a definite step up from the premiere. The story felt more focused, and I enjoyed the balance between the workplace drama, heartbreak, and character development. We got to spend more time with the characters rather than rushing through plot points, which made it easier to connect with what everyone was going through.Character Notes❤️ Yao Jing JingMy MVP of the episode.Watching her march into the ex-boyfriend’s workplace and call him out for his behaviour was incredibly satisfying. Every drama heroine deserves a friend like her.👀 Male LeadHe’s slowly winning me over. The way he looked after the FL after finding her drunk showed a much softer and more considerate side to his character.Favourite Moment🔥 Yao Jing Jing publicly calling out the ex-boyfriend.It was the kind of best-friend energy we all love to see.Final ThoughtsThis episode gave us heartbreak, office politics, and a few hints of what the relationship between our leads might look like moving forward. The friendship dynamic is one of the strongest parts of the show right now, and the ML definitely gained some points with me this episode.Current VerdictEpisode 2 was better than Episode 1 in almost every way. Better pacing, stronger character moments, and enough emotional drama to keep me interested.

OMG Moment:The female lead catches her boyfriend with another woman, only for him to turn around and break up with her because she’s “too perfect.” The audacity of this man deserves an award. 😭Favourite Character:💚 Li Yi Fei – He keeps getting pulled into the female lead’s problems and can’t seem to stop himself from helping her, even when he pretends he wants nothing to do with the situation.Favourite Scene:The chance encounters, her constantly having near misses or bumping into him. She’s always bouncing forward. Then in work situation he bumps into her 🤭Trope:✨ Bickering HousematesRandom Fangirl Thoughts:I didn’t hate the episode because of the acting—the cast did a solid job. My biggest issue was the editing and pacing. The storytelling felt choppy, with scenes jumping around in a way that made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the drama. It also felt surprisingly slow, even for a slow-burn setup. That said, I already like the female lead. She’s clearly intelligent and capable, having successfully exposed corruption through her work. Unfortunately, she seems to have a major blind spot when it comes to her boyfriend. While she’s willing to work hard and earn her success, he’s the complete opposite—constantly looking for shortcuts and easier opportunities. His decision to leave her for a wealthy woman feels less like a sudden betrayal and more like an extension of his character. The first episode didn’t completely hook me, but the housemate setup, growing tension between the leads, and Li Yi Fei’s green-flag tendencies have convinced me to stick around for Episode 2.Episode Verdict:🤔 Not love at first watch, but enough potential to keep me watching. The editing needs work, but the characters and housemate dynamic could end up carrying this drama. 👀🔥

This drama is absolutely funny. I loved how he switches from young guy to serious old man mode. I’ve watched other dramas he’s been in but of course my opinion this by far is his best acting.

Why did the writer have to do this to poor, sweet Fang Yin???? There is no plot purpose to this other than to trigger us viewers emotionally to hate Duke Xue & his cronies even more. But do we really need more reasons? We already know he's willing to kill children - even his own family. I guess it's to also make us now hate Zhou Yin Zhi, but even that could have been accomplished without this! I'm so upset that the writers did this cheap emotional plot device. But I will commend the production of the scene. The camerawork. The rain. The blood. The music. All three actors were spot on - especially Bai Lu. Wow, the grief and despair on her face were so real.` Definitely one of the more heart-wrenching death scenes I've seen recently.

Love the story building. Love the side characters. Their house looks sooo cozy. Wang Chu Ran looks stunning (as always) in that hair colour. Tan Jian Ci is so funny and unserious lmao. They don't have feelings for each other yet, AND STILL I can feel the chemistry. And above all that, THEIR BICKERING AAAAHHH

There is hope! What a relief! 😮💨 I can't really think of anything else than getting my dear Haixia back into action. Oh, what a wonderful mind Haixia's is, to have thought of this plan... Is there anyone, really, who can match it? 🥹🤩✨Hailou will have this opportunity to right the wrongs of his past by gathering the three rare herbs, and for once be the one who saves Haixia! It is a very good redemption path for the mistake he made all those years ago. 🙏🥺And what a creep Lu Junxiang is... 😬 Whenever he hears Haiqi's name, he goes completely psycho. To calm himself or whatever, he needs some black pills like an addict... And did he really sniff her hairpin?! 🫣 I really hope Bai Yu turns on him when she learns that he was the one who killed her twin sister, not Haiqi. 🙏😩
