Not just a pretty face

Loved the dynamics of this episode. When on the receiving side of the ‘apology’ check, Chairman Kang had better perspective of Hwang’s view. Watching his children dole out compensation in same manner made him see how patronizing and insulting it really is for recipient. The daughter was a surprise. Living away from the family was the best thing for her. She is her father’s daughter and tough as nails. She appears a people pleaser to gather intel because she wants the Kangs to pay for demoralizing her mother. Ironically, of the three children, she is the one that truly gives a damn about her father in spite of his ways. She is his mini me as their interactions are volatile and eye opening. It makes them continually re evaluate their bias to figure each other out. When he challenged her about liking his pretty face 😂🤣 I think viewers worried about romance can see this is father scrutinizing daughter. He doesn’t believe her capable and she thinks he is a compensation freeloader, but their skills complement nicely. He still has all the secrets of the chairman and she is learning from the underlings how things flow through the company. It was an emotional upheaval for him watching his own children try to kill him. He is right that is something he should not have known. But, now that he does, he is getting them back with no bloodline guarantee for the top chair and has hit the son’s slush fund companies. He needs to visit the gma for Hwang because they were so close. I was glad he took the time to see Hwang’s accomplishments and recognize that he needed to properly compensate him for the harm his family caused. I hope this is top medical care for his gma which is the only reason Hwang cared so much about soccer. It is her truest and now only memory of him. The story has a good pace and is interesting watching the family vs company dynamics. It will be fun watching him work with his daughter, tho for now she wants the company to fail too. I don’t know who the person is behind her, but I think the chairman knows him, and it seems there is a long standing grudge between them. Finding this very interesting and nice continuation of introducing characters and story.

Five Stars

only ep 1 but i already really love gemini acting. he improved so much. i dont even see “gemini” in barth, he fully becomes the character. i just want to hug barth, he so pitiful 😭 some ppl say he red flag but i dont see it that way, i think he just a kid who is disappointed in life after hoping and believing so much. “my God is not as good as your God.” that line hits hard. cant wait for barthtanrak’s development in ep 2

The Diner Scene

My goodness. The performances by both Chen Hao Lan (Shen Mingying) and Li Jun Xian (Liu Mao) in the diner scene were phenomenal. That whole scene was so emotional and riveting. Just that scene alone made this whole episode amazing.

The eyes are everything!

I love how the look in their eyes changes from scene to scene. You don't see Gemini and Fourth anymore—you see Barth and Tanrak. They've completely immersed themselves in these characters, and it's incredible to watch.

Five Stars

What impressed me the most was how much could be conveyed without dialogue. Some of the most memorable scenes relied entirely on expressions, body language, and atmosphere. Gemini and Fourth have both grown undeniably actors, and Episode 1 showcases that beautifully.Visually, the episode is stunning. Every frame seems carefully crafted, adding another layer to the story being told.I can't wait to see where this story takes us next.

good ep, some dislikes tho

i know they were trying to be funny with klao grabbing Si's boobs when wasted but if just came off icky esp after sshe told her to stop so many times.i appereciate tho the scene of them together cuz they were being so gentle with eachother and making sure the pther is okay with it all so that was nice.some of the comedy comes off in poor taste but the scenes compensated it. Good ep.

Underwhelming, bordering on uninteresting

Let's start with pacing of this episode and the show itself - judging by what happened so far. Main characters were introduced and met in-show, had some initial interactions as well and we got the smallest possible glimpse into their background - so most setup elements for a show seem to be there. That's what one could expect from episode 1 of a 12 or 10 episode long show, a "slow burn" type of show. However, this show is supposed to have only 6 episodes, so it should have hit the ground running - establishing characters and launching the main plot. Sadly it didn't. More than that: ep. 1 dragged so much, that I paused it twice to do other stuff. I got bored with a Gemini and Fourth show - and I feel bad because of that.As for the vibe, I knew this won't be another colorful, funny show like MSP - but it's not another "Moonlight Chicken" either. It seems gritty (as it should be), but also somehow empty, almost fake, like there's something missing,Also, I disliked the ending, as it made no sense to me. Imagine you were forced to spend the night under the same conditions as Tan and Barth and woke up in the morning surrounded by other people. You had to wait for a rescue and you got rescued - wouldn't you jump out of that empty pool and say something like "you took your bloody time, we were waiting for someone to show up since last evening"? I would. But not our main characters, who seem to be ashamed, confused and surprised by being rescued - not to mention that the show already implied that everyone else thinks Tan and Barth did something wrong. How? By getting locked up on an abandoned pool? Why would anyone think so?This show starts worse that "My Love Mix-Up!", not to mention MSP and "Moonlight Chicken". It better improves a lot in ep. 2.

Devastating episode

This episode was devastating. Xiao Duo returned to the capital just to have his heart broken and thrown away like trash. Yinlou acted the part of the cold, ambitious, and heartless manipulator perfectly, pretending she used Xiao Duo just for her own benefit… but we all know the truth. She did it to protect him, to chase him away from the palace, and away from all the danger lurking from the Emperor’s side. But did it help? We’ll see. The last scene proved that even while heartbroken, Xiao Duo is still watching her… I hope that’s because he didn’t fully believe her and wants to understand what’s really happening. I actually hope Princess Hede or Tongyun will tell him something, because they know exactly what has happened there.Meanwhile, the Emperor is searching for the cousin. It is only a matter of time until he finds him, and he will probably learn who Yinlou’s real lover is… or at least confirm that the cousin isn’t the one.I really don’t like Yinlou’s father, who uses her only for his own greed and advancement. Intolerable! However, I am actually rather grateful that he blabbed about the Emperor's plans to weaken Xiao Duo's power. This way, Yinlou might just be able to devise a plan of her own!
