I really loved this episode. With all the coming episodes, the plot thickens. I love it. The cinematography is amazing. The introductions to the details given through animations are amazing. I'm in awe of this drama. And Sky Wongravee's chanting is too realistic that I got chills. Nani Hirunkit nails actions scenes flawlessly.

_stars This was another enjoyable episode. I loved the Boys over Flowers reference and also the games reminded me of the Starship game caterers. I had a good laugh. Ye-jin's smile is so pretty. And I loved the way Mechoori was jealous of Eric. The leads have good chemistry, making this interesting. I love the other couples too. However, I felt bad for Eric hen he was alone on those swings.

Overall quality of this episode climbed back up a little from the schlock that the past few have been, but the show is still relying heavily on really cliche drama plot gimmicks. Sadly this includes killing off one of the few truly decent characters in this drama just to serve as a 'life lesson' to all the other characters. I'm sure some viewers will be upset by this episode.

KJ2025 Now we know why the third author was invited by Zhao. Lin even gave her a future favor to be sure he was taken care of. Lin has made a huge jump as a boss after the failure with GuYan. She accepts Zhao for what she is and while disliking it doesn’t hold a grudge. I respect her for choosing not to burn bridges. It is wise and requires much strength. Mei’s parents….there are no words in how to define them and they make things as difficult as possible dealing with them. She finally figured out how to shut up her mother and override her suicide blackmail. She jumped first. I wonder if she saw the safety barrier first or just said to hell with them and jumped to be rid of them. I was frustrated with her for not kicking her mom out over the dress. I thought it was a cop out to delay things. But that hospital scene where she told them their daughter was dead and she had nothing more to say to them ever….that was well done tho extreme.👏🏻Lin is the only grownup yelling at all of them. The mother then thinks she has the upper hand with the wayward husband. He at least spoke truthfully and then smiled at her foolishness and walked away. While she choked on her bile in the hallway, I think it finally settled in that she was the broken old one with no one to care for her. Lin deserves a medal for getting through this day. After the emotional drain of Mei and her parents, she comes home to miss delulu that wants to write books to be equal in status to HeHan. She even admits her love for him. Lin would never be jealous of her for obvious reasons but to deal with her so calmly when she has her mother and Mei pressing her mind… speaks volumes for her character as a person and how naive and self deluded Cai is. She is so smart and still refuses to read the room and grow up. I was just starting to have hope for her and she falls off the cliff of delulu and wants an audience to support her efforts.😝 Lin is moving out and taking Mei with her. She reminds Cai that Mei would envy her having a good father. The stupid smile on Cai’s face. She truly has no clue and it’s by choice. Her two roommates offered friendship and she chose the fantasy. When things are restructured, I really hope Cai isn’t part of things. I want to be done with her. Mei is finishing things off with Bei. About damn time. She looks like a shell but she has a seed of true independence inside of her. I am curious to see what she does with it. Zhao has done it. She’s pregnant. She wasted no time in letting Ling know he will be the father of twins. He refuses to have them aborted but lets Zhao know he hates her. I hope Hellfire and Brimstone 2.0 make her morning sick every day of her pregnancy. Mimi is taking HeHan through a tour of his classroom where 12 have been selected. There is miss delulu and HeHan has no clue. He congratulates her for making his class and assures her it is because she is talented. She is all cheesy smiles and I just wanna smack the sh.t out of her for being so foolish. In spite of herself I still hope HeHan gives her a soft landing. I feel charitable because he created her delusion and fed it well til he glimpsed the consequences. He is still unaware she has not deserted her desire for him. Glasses guy was the culprit and smart Lin figured it out with the insurance lady. She does keep a closer eye on things than I gave her credit for. He at least slightly redeemed himself not trashing the launching of the third book and she gave him grace and didn’t cause him further grief than cutting ties. She has to take some responsibility when they saw HeHan as the core of the company rather than her. That is the mistake they all had even up to Fan. This was her poor boss skills overriding her master editing skills in the public eye. She does have to own that …and she does…with eyes to the future now. Dai has come on the scene and she looks like the pissed auntie getting ready to deliver an earful….HeHan can’t wait.😂🤣one episode a day is depressing…the cast and crew are delivering complex characters and scenes. Now the looooong wait til tomorrow.

nero truong who would expect the drama i embarked on the wildest goose+chase for be the one to blow me away when i finally start it without reading a single word in the description of the synopsis ？OBSESSED . . . I’m actually obsessed . . . i enjoy this a lot. i can’t ev en really pin+poiny why. i enkjoy yuikma’s character. i find it reeally easy to emerse myself in her story. i enjoy this troupe. i also think thje nature of their characters & the genuine★ness of the writing make every casting feel the right fit. we have a strong cas t of colourful characters which i find to be very important to sell this show & I’m just really pleased with all I’m watching. i am invested in so many different parts ofthis show. i don’gt think it’s revolutionary bvut it feels right. it feels very caring & human.

The servant is brought in and Lian is pointed out for initiating gossip. While punishments get passed out gma thinks she will force a marriage with Wang to restore reputation. When JinZhao is about to be locked up for refusing, brother Yao shows up with betrothal gifts. Yao has grown up in the time they have been separated. He makes an impressive groom. This time when they met, there was not the bickering conversation. He is truly worried about her and does not want her reputation shattered. He also has the older brother look when she describes being in love so well. He is forced to admit his love is brotherly, but he is pondering who makes her flush and stay up at night. I am proud of him for making such an impressive marriage price for her and looking out for her amongst these wretched Gu’s. Waiting to see how this all plays out. In Daxin they have kept the chaff with the rice. For a short time this makes it more nutritious, but when storing, it will spoil quicker and hold more arsenic. This is a deliberate plot to harm the general populace. I misunderstood. The rice was swapped with bran for relief stores. This was not handled by the granary manager but by Fu’s henchman himself. He doesn’t even bother to hide it. They are brazenly setting up Chen to take the fall and guarding him so he can’t retaliate. He has called to meet with JinZhao and they know that the conspiracy is a political takedown aiming for Chen and daddy Gu to take the fall for it. A colleague has forged her dad’s seal without his knowledge. Wang Xuanfeng wants to take down Fan and Fu is more than ready to assist and since Chen is showing he’s his own man and not the expected sycophant —two birds with one stone. I can’t wait to see his plotting bring him down.😝😡🤬 Chen is asking JinZhao to delay things as long as possible while they hunt down the colleague. Dead or alive he will prove something fraudulent happened. JinZhao is buying up grain and getting soup kitchens and medicine stalls ready to keep the province from revolting. This will give everybody more time to catch the culprits and take care of the people. She wants to hit the ground running when the bran is discovered. Fan has showed up at Chen’s office and the fireworks begin. Chen takes the winds out of his sails by resigning and an order of impeachment for Fan citing 10 cases of nepotism to charge him with. Chen is very shrewd. He still looks to be Fu’s man while working on setting them both back. Ye Xian just got orders to bring every Gu male back to the garrison. The prior warden has a grudge and this worked out nicely. His fringe benefit was a satisfied grin making YeXian personally take charge of the order. Fortunately JinZhao was already prepared. The order should have been for the two political fools we already know about, but the sons were added because of the grudge. JinZhao gives her brother some money and instructions and Ye Xian said he had the prison side of it handled. I liked that JinZhao told him to be careful as well. The ladies of the Gu house are crashing fast and general JinZhao is taking charge. They are combing through every single document and gathering evidence. She knows she is integral to Chen’s defense. He is trusting her with his very self. ❤️ she is motivated to leave no stone unturned to take care of the men she cares about. It is just a shame it will also spare the two old reprobates that deserve punishment. 😝At the court Chen assumed the blame while glaring at the real culprit. Fu’s man thinks he forced Chen’s hand and Fu initially thought he could smooth things over with Chen. This changes when he hears of Gu’s daughter bringing a case to court. He is putting the pieces together quickly and now it’s a race between him and Chen to see if justice prevails. This was an interesting change of events and I liked that for once the Gu women have put their petty differences aside and are working together in defense of their house. I wish there was one more episode today to see what happens sooner. Excellent storytelling keeping the romance on slow sizzle and political conflicts at good pace. I also have to applaud that the women will be bailing the men out. This makes me smile. Usually I am annoyed that the Gu men are rescued by their ladies, but this time, it’s about real justice and not hiding some greedy stunt they pulled. A bit of time in jail will not be bad for the old ones at all, they have long had it coming. But for them to be indebted to JinZhao, including dear gma ….this is a good thing. They will hopefully mind their manners in future. As for Chen, I am hoping his lady will let him officially propose when this is settled.

IrenaK This episode already showed how just a few different choices can change relationships. For example, I’m really enjoying Ji-Won befriending Mrs. Yang and Hui-Yeon while distancing herself from Soo-Min and Min-Hwan even more. 🤗Mrs. Yang seems quite shy and lacks confidence, yet she’s very competent and hardworking. She comes across as quite mature, almost as if she has gone through some hardships or abuse herself. Hui-Yeon, however, is very spirited, energetic, cheerful, and optimistic. She has a very healthy attitude toward life, and I bet she could help Ji-Won and Mrs. Yang gain more confidence. She also seems like a very good judge of character—especially regarding Soo-Min! ☝️😏Soo-Min is such a sore loser. She cannot stand that Ji-Won is slipping from her manipulative fingers; however, I still wonder what she might do to harm or humiliate Ji-Won next. She seems even more terrible than I imagined! Now she is trying to play a game of "teaseful seduction" with Min-Hwan and Mr. Kim. I don't think that will end well, but she apparently needs someone to manipulate. If it’s not Ji-Won, she’s looking for a new target. 😒🙄Mr. Yoo's presence at every moment Ji-Won needs help is very convenient. Suspiciously convenient... He even knew how to track down someone who went to school with Ji-Won. Why? All of it makes me wonder if he knows way more than he's letting on. Also, he clearly recognized that money with the heart on it. Could he also know about future events, just like Ji-Won? 🤔

Wang had his Gma go to the Gu residence to force a proposal on JinZhao. Glad to know she keeps a dagger close just in case. After he had a dip in the pond, she made sure Chen noticed him. Chen invited himself over and then received a very tasty meal.😝😂 I am sure daddy Gu is wondering over his tastes since JinZhao knew it so well.😂🤣 He gets invited to stay the night and actually accepts. JinZhao is strolling by where he is staying believing he is in the guest room. She overhears her uncle and gma talking and now understands why her mom paid 20K taels of silver. It covered the uncle’s embezzlement of funds so her father couldn’t be implicated and lose his job. While they are plotting, her lantern gives her away and she’s almost caught by her uncle. Who she is caught by is Lord Chen. He is forward without being aggressive. Their first kiss is everything it should be. And for that to be her very first kiss….it is sigh worthy. 🫣🥰❤️ she is caught by her cousin leaving and the rumors fly. JinZhao has a very strong constitution because she still remains unconvinced Lord Chen is right for her and vice versa. She hears all the rumors Lian had her maid start except Wang Zan’s name was used instead of Lord Chen. The gma knows that their embezzlement secret is out and wants to keep everything quiet, but jealous granddaughter had other plans. When cornered in the fabric store, JinZhao accepts the challenge and is heading out to confront Wang with mean girls in tow. First his butler shows up to apologize and then a beat up Wang apologizes in person.😂🤣 when she looks up Ye Xian is smirking and looking pleased with himself. Chen handled it with the servant but in this moment, I’m wanting to hug Ye Xian for getting that lecherous creep beat up. This guy needed a lesson to discourage what he viewed as husbandly rights and duties. I love the friendship he and JinZhao have. JinZhao has heard of the drought conditions in Shanxi and the word gets to Chen. He has checked in on JinZhao to be sure she’s ok and let’s her know he will be away a few days. He asked about someone showing up to apologize for Wang and she finds out Chen had him for accepting a bribe. She didn’t comment that YeXian had him show up personally a little worse for the wear. 😝😂Lian comes in with a new hairpin all pleased with herself just in time for her gma to wallop her.😂🤣 That was as satisfying to watch as seeing Wang beat up. Chen has tried to dissuade his mother from believing or passing along gossip and I am really curious how her first meeting with JinZhao will go. Chen is full pressed pushing romance and can’t wait to see his next move to woo her.

Avi A perfect mix of funny, romantic and smart female leads with petty side characters giving the episode some spice. This was one of the best kiss scenes I have ever seen because it started so awkward and became so steamy.

cjspock The final episode is an emotional rollercoaster. All puzzle pieces have been put into place, and we see the complete, tragic end of Ran. Qiao Su Qing and Xu Meng do not escape punishment. Yuanlongli is demolished with applause. He Xiao He is awarded for solving the case and gets to work in the criminal division. There is an award for He Yuan Hang's contribution, but first, they have to find him. After watching the demolition, it is too much for him, and he goes to see Ran off at the train station once again. The police team shows up for his award, and they all get to say a tearful goodbye to Ran. All in all, a bittersweet ending to an engaging mystery.The cast was amazing in the penultimate chapter of this haunting story.

Qiao Su Qing reveals the true events and how she and Xu Meng enacted the nearly perfect crime. Things begin to fall into place as the story unfolds. All the seemingly random clues along the way are making sense. The police locate Xu Meng and take her into custody. Now it is her turn to reveal her side of the story. Before heading into the interrogation room to confront Xu Meng, He Xiao He was encouraged by Ran and her father (in spirit). While this is another episode filled with much exposition, it is interesting to see all the pieces fall into place. Seeing the three together (even in Xiao He's imagination) was bittersweet.
