All is Fair in Love & War

This episode was such a spectacular follow-up to episode 1. As someone who enjoys having a calm watch, or, at the very least, doesn't require a lot going on plot-wise if the characters are solid - THIS SHOW IS IT. Getting to see deeper into their couple dynamics was such a great highlight of this episode. Them consistently eating and having such a great time makes so much sense when you think about Yun Seo's childhood and the way she had to raise her younger brother by herself. Seo Ju Won is literally the love of my life - I absolutely love that he has the guts and the tenacity to chase after the woman he loves because she can't fight right now, but she loves him just as much like!!!! And the fact that there's kind of this "thread",,, I don't know how to describe it really. But the parallel between Seo Si Won and Yun Seo both trying to protect their younger sibling from harm (one domestic violence and the other emotional damage) but the richer (aka. the one that has more privilege really CAN'T help in the same way is very interesting). All in all, this episode was very fun and I'm literally enjoying the way all of this is going ESPECIALLY with a new character coming to the scene next week!

The highs are high, the lows are mediums

so lets get the elephant out of the room, the broken english. Look, as a non native korean speaker watching the bad english is really obvious but im willing to let it slide because i dont think its as obvious to a native korean audience (and thats who the show is targeting), but you have to wonder why, for such a small role, they’d cast someone whos meant to speak better english than korean when that actor speaks very broken english. This is litwrally my only negative point about the entire episode, and the reason I give it 5/5 stars is truly because I think this is excusable. Everything else is perfect, we finally understand more about how hostile the workplace felt to FL, how hard she tried, why she was at her breaking point. We are slowly learning so much about her and I really like her as a main character. And Oh my god!! finding out more about the ML’s feelings for her, that montage during the hug, i know people are mixed on a slowburn but I am so into this. Their relationship is progressing in such a natural and flowing way, Im already excited for the next episode. Its been really hard for me lately to find a kdrama that hasnt worn me out by the 3rd or 4th episode or that i feel excited to watch all the way through but this one I’m really excited for.Other thoughts:I’d bet my left arm that weird girl is the 2nd ML’s daughter, so thats gonna be a whole thing.FL’s mom was a much smaller role this ep, I wonder if the family drama is taking a backseat for the next little bit.2nd FL is such a likable character, has she known this entire time about the ML’s feelings? has she been trying to invite him to everything because she knows?I wonder if we’re gonna see more about the FL’s ex. is he gonna come to korea too or is he gonna be a fully offscreen character?I think she had a nervous breakdown 3 years ago, and that she hid it from everyone. I think that is one of her secrets.Tl;dr:Im so invested, this episode did a perfect job of making you wonder whats gonna happen next. I can ignore the bad english
