This sweet interrogation is adorable, Xiaojue's smiling while interrogating He Yan about the Defense Map while She's lying to him😂. He finally agreed to let her join the Nine Banner Battalion. Interrogation of Lei Hou, He said he was ordered by Hu Yuanzhong, but it's obvious such plan couldn't have been orchestrated by him, He Yan mentioned that there must be someone with grand ambitions behind pulling the strings. Setting Lei Hou free was the right thing, a victim of war. Xiaojue indeed no other way, so he had to release the reservoir, which flooded the city, the only thing he could do cause he had 3000 soldiers while the Wutuo were 30,000, he did provide aid, the plan was to eliminate the Wutuos during the rain (light rain), but what they got was a torrential downpour which led to so many deaths, the villages were destroyed, many people were swept away, the decision was tough for him. More like Sword dance, expressing his emotions. Ahhhhhh! She's comforting him, she covered his back with the cloak and even patted his head 🤭. He was like "I'm better so stop hugging me please" 😂, but she fainted instead (ofcourse she was injured). He Yan really gotta hide things from Xiaojue, he really be giving her a side eye whenever she's lying about how she knew about this or that thing which ordinary people don't know about. The Ginger soup decoding was something that XJ's father found and used it, so how did He Yan learnt about it. But she can't just say on his face that "YOUR FATHER PERSONALLY TAUGHT ME THAT". They came to a conclusion that it's Chai Anxi, his father's Long serving General who is involved in the defeat at the Battle of Mingshui. The task at hand now is to track down Chai Anxi. Chu Zhao met Chai Anxi in the city that was destroyed by the flood, he was acting suspiciously and CZ noticed it.

Retribution and mercy

Lei Hou is not what I expected. He wanted justice for his village and his family, so when the opportunity presented itself to get revenge on the one responsible for this destruction, he grabbed tight with both hands. I am hard pressed to find fault with him on this. He thought Xiao Jue had no honor. And when the longevity locket was presented he felt justified. When he gets to leave with his brother, he gives them his ‘love poem’ and considers them even, with Xiao Jue having many more to go. Lei Hou is on the path to healing, but it will be a much longer journey for Xiao Jue. It is a sweet opening scene with Xiao Jue hovering over He Yan. She is mending and Mr Shen comes in bowing apologies. They lost several in the battle and he felt guilty that he did not do his job well. He presented the defense plan He Yan had drawn up for him. Xiao Jue looked it over and gave it to He Yan wanting an explanation. He told Shen to leave and has a chat with He Yan who is all about her photographic memory. He knows she is lying but chooses to let it go for now. He also tells her she can join the elite guard where she immediately assumes she will be the one in charge. Cheng is so funny as he tells her straight up ‘do you think I am that stupid’ as she spins her tale. He just goes with I will believe whatever you say and then mumbles uncle is gonna fall so hard.😂 She takes her meds and he leaves her the candy she gave him. She is both annoyed and pleased. I like her light reading, ‘The Art of War’😂 Xiao Jue talks about what happened at Que. They were outnumbered 30k to 3k with one possible option to survive. To empty the reservoir and drown the troops. If the rain lessened, the village would be spared, but it turned into a torrent instead. He made all the plans to get them out, but the weather worked against him. Most of the village got swept away. He stays up all night doing sword drills and reflecting on all those souls lost. He Yan guards over him through the night and then hugs him after assuring him as a general he had no other option and he had done the best he could. There are times when the extent of a soldier’s grief is truly only understood by another soldier. She understood his grief as a fellow commander and this was a healing and sorrow sharing hug. Her being a girl was a fringe benefit, but it was shared grief of being responsible for mass casualties. This is the toughest cross for a soldier to bear when civilians are included in the death toll. She ends her hug by collapsing and both of them being chastised by Dr Cheng.😂 They cannot decipher the encrypted message until she notes the sulfur smell and they both yell ginseng soup. They eyeball each other because this technique was exclusive to his father’s training. She is rolling her eyes in her mind because she can’t just say your dad personally taught me this technique. She gives books credit and he lets it go. There is a date and meeting set up. They do not know if real or fake intel but the technique itself revealed that one of their own wrote the message. One officer they thought dead is the best possible option of who, because there was a very limited number of people that knew how. It ends with a flashback of Chu finding a man collapsed on the street. They take him in to get him help and find out he is from the Xiao army. He is tailing them closely but not including himself with them. The deputy general Chai Anxi.

I can't, These episodes are on another level of laughter 😂😂😂😂

- Suo Wei and Chi Ching's father's relationship is laugh-out-loud funny. From the beginning of the episode, I was laughing so hard.- I can't forget that scene when Jiang pushed Chi Ching away and went to Suo Wei to check on him, and that he told him that he was the one who cracked the code 🤣🤣🤣- Suo Wei and Chi Ching are perfect for each other, they are also alike, and they both interrupt GuoJiang's sweet moments. I'm crying. When will we be able to get another kiss for this cpl before the series ends??? I'm crying.- I can't forget the way GCY said to JXSH "Think of it as a gift for the dog" that Ching yu 🤣🤣🤣- Xiao Shuai's looks when Wei Wei told him he was going home.. 🥹 He really cares about him and don't want him to be alone or being annoyed 🥹✨ I really like him.- I want to play with auntie 🤣🤣🤣I really liked the ep and enjoyed it. And I'm so sad that the series will end in two days 😭😭😭

Protecting the Garrison

The Stranger(Hu Yuanzhong) is obviously suspicious since he arrived right after Xiaojue left. He can fool TaoTao but not He Yan, he's from Liehe. It's hilarious that whenever He Yan is trying to test him STT thinks that He Yan is behaving this way because he's (she) jealous that STT is treating Hu Yuanzhong 😂. He Yan shot an arrow towards him, and he timely dodged it. Woooow! That particular scene AMAZING!! Night time, HY noticed a man with stealth outfit and chased him, their fighting scene was sooooo good! Her fighting with that bamboo pole and even took his weapon (scimitar) but a trap laid down especially for her, since after Xiaojue, He Yan is the strongest in the camp, so it was necessary to remove her from their path, luring here toward that tent, and framing her for the murder of Instructor Ma. She told Shen Han that the killer is Hu Yuanzhong (She did well, to make the enemy lower their guard), her reasons for stating his name was Logical but since Hu Yuanzhong was proven innocent, she was suspicious in their eyes, something had to be done Shen Han gave orders to imprison He Yan in the dungeon until the Commander arrives. He Yan realised that Yezhou Garrison has only recruits at this time who don't have any war experience, and as they framed He Yan leading to her being imprisoned they'll be able to execute their plan (Liehe/Wutuo), giving them the opportunity to act first. He Yan realised that if this was their plan all along, to send Xiao Jue away to Litai from Yezhou Garrison and attack the Garrison in his absence then it'll be Chaos. STT came to visit her in the dungeon and was all shy when He Yan asked for her belt 🤣. She ordered her and CL to stay close to Shen Han at all times so he can protect them. He Yan has atleast alerted Shen Han to be cautious. FINALLY! THE UTO ARC IS HERE! I was dying to see it! Just as her friends (fellow recruits) were going to plead mercy for HY, the enemy army arrived! Oh so this Curly Hair head is here at last, General Rida Muzi of the Liehe Tribe. The Utos and Liehe tribe colluded to bring down Xiaojue. Atleast Shen Han finally realised that He Yan didn't lie, she was telling the truth all along and got imprisoned for it. Lei Hou entered the dungeon taking advantage of the Chaos to kill HY, Ahhhhhhhhhhh! She used the belt so well! He Yan has been waiting for Lei Hou in the dungeon knowing his identity as spy. When He Yan was General Feihong, she once subdued the Liehe Army but now after years they've come again (to their grandpa for a beating), ah violence. He Yan's entry was so perfect! Throwing that Flag in the mid. She knows that it'll take some time for Xiao Jue to arrive, so she'll need to buy as much time as possible, riling him up for a duel, by mentioning his brother's name Rida Muji who was killed by herself. He took the bait. (They changed it? In novel there were three duels, but here she fought directly with Rida Muzi?). The fight was amazing, she used her whip, the footwork is really good here. He Yan left a scar on his face while he injured He Yan above the waist (deep wound), but she tied a strip of cloth tightly on her wound and continued fighting 🗡️. I can't believe that they cut the duel scenes just to save time, I know it was just to show her leveling up/showing her strength in novel, but still I was expecting that fight. He Yan was severely injured while trying to protect TaoTao, SHE WAS SO DAMN COOL! When She Shouted "ALL SOLDIERS, CAPTURE THOSE MEN". Her MAN is here finally, 👤WHY IS IT THAT EVERYTIME WE MEET YOU END UP IN SUCH A PITIFUL STATE? Applying medicine for her🤭. But still they ended this too quickly 😭.

General He Yan to the rescue

😂😂Ms Song chastising He Yan for jealousy.🤣😂 I enjoyed the arrow zipping past him tho. That was a man to general conversation.😁That was a slick set up to get He Yan tossed in the brig. She was right, there was an inside man. Lei Hou would have been a more obvious choice had I not thought he left with the Elite squad. I am glad she got the tools she needed from Ms Song to kick his ass but not kill him. Living evidence.😝 Here I just really wanted to smack Shen. He knew Xiao Jue always backed her up, and correctly so, but this foolish second won’t actively investigate other than more guard shifts and a cursory exploration of their ‘patient’. I absolutely loved He Yan’s chat with their general. She got to take out both brothers. They were fated. Shen knew that they would not survive and for all his military experience he was not inspiring. When she charged out on that flag post and challenged the general to his face I wanted to cheer. She was familiar with his footwork thanks to that 15 flag dual so better prepared than anyone there. He drew blood best but she drew blood first, second, and third time and made sure face wounds to goad him. Ms Song will definitely be in love after being rescued. 😂 She did at least get to finish off General and those men were ready to fight. And for the elite squad to arrive and Xiao Jue there to guard her….that was an excellent moment. I blasted her last episode for being too familiar. This episode, she was exactly what the garrison needed. Xiao Jue again did choose correctly leaving her there. Now I have no idea how Cheng deduced she was female via pulse. Do we have gender based wrist pulses that I am not aware of?😂The way he passed the dressing kit to Xiao Jue and told him to take care of it.😂That slight dab at her wound, I was thinking she would bleed out before he cleaned anything. 😝Her faith in him to get back in time for her.🥰 Cheng is off to make meds and I really wanna know what they are gonna do with Lei Hou. Excellent episode!
