A step-down from the first but still good!

A step-down from the first despite all the elements that made the first one great still being present. Just hugely less interesting in general. Still good however.
_________________________________________

Stunts - 75/100

Narrative - 63/100 | I said the first one had no real narrative but this one goes one step further. The girls are mainly just talking and arguing, because this time they're forbidden from killing. So not much happens. So it ends up just being boring because we know they can't kill, which is what gave the first movie a delightfully unpredictable inclination. The duo of guys are also the worst assassins I've ever seen. At least a dozen times they had the perfect opportunity to kill and yet… didn't. They were mildly funny though.

Fight Choreography - 87/100 | There are longer fights, which is what I wished for after watching the first, but while they're still great, they're not quite as great.

Enjoyment - 66/100 | Gotta love the mascot fight and a couple visual gags, this is when this movie reminds us of why we're watching it. But the first one had a lot more of those moments.

I will watch the third installment when it comes out but will be readjusting my expectations. In any case it's gonna be worth it for the action alone. Like this one!

Main Fighters: Saori Izawa, Joey Iwanaga

The movie poster looks promising, especially since the stars of the film are well-known actors, but when I watch the movie, the story is terrible. I've seen a lot of adventure films, and this one is just attempting to be one. I find the plot to be dragging and monotonous or slow pace. From the title, The Adventure, but with less adventure in it (not adventure and action pack). I just keep watching till I finish it even if I find it boring, slow, and irritating attempt at humor. On a positive note, this film had promise if the storyline wasn't so terrible. Give this movie a try and let me know your thoughts!

A true to life action movie

In this film, there are only a handful of actors who manage to bring their characters to life authentically, and among them is Park So Dam. The storyline itself is quite engaging, and I find myself appreciating the small details that unfold throughout the movie. Park So Dam's portrayal adds a layer of depth to the narrative, making it a compelling and enjoyable watch.

One aspect that truly sets this movie apart is the realism injected into the fight scenes. Unlike many other action films that tend to rely on over the top, exaggerated sequences, this movie takes a refreshingly grounded approach. The fighting choreography feels authentic, bringing a sense of believability to the physical confrontations. This departure from the norm in action cinema is a commendable choice, offering audiences a more relatable and immersive viewing experience.

The protagonist's portrayal is another notable highlight. I appreciate the genuine nature of her character and how she navigates the challenges presented in the story. What stands out is her fighting style, which resonates with authenticity. It reflects how any other girl might approach similar situations if placed in the same circumstances. This relatability adds a unique layer to the character, making her journey more emotionally resonant for the audience.

The plot itself is well crafted, offering a balance of action. The story unfolds in a way that keeps the audience invested. The pacing is effective, allowing for moments of tension to build naturally and providing ample time for character development.

Additionally, the cinematography deserves praise for capturing the essence of the story visually. The use of lighting, camera angles, and visual composition enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the film. These elements contribute to the creation of a cinematic atmosphere that complements the narrative, immersing the audience in the world of the movie.

In conclusion, this film manages to stand out in the realm of action movies due to its commendable performances, realistic fight scenes, and a well crafted plot. Park So Dam's standout acting, coupled with the authentic portrayal of the protagonist, adds a layer of depth that elevates the overall viewing experience. As the story unfolds, the audience is taken on a journey filled with suspense, emotion, and genuine moments, making it a memorable cinematic endeavor. With a refreshing take on action cinema, this movie succeeds in delivering entertainment that goes beyond the typical genre conventions.

You should watch it but watch out for some things...

So. I would recommend you to watch it and I would give it between 8/9 out of 10. Let me explain what I liked and what I did not.

Before we start, shout out to Yong-jun's mom and Jun woo. These two are litteraly the best characters so far imo. Wished they had more implication in the film, especially Jun woo ! He had a very good chemistry and a genuine friendship with Yong-Jun.(Btw Gi-woong's dad was so cute and their story moved me tho we didn't get to know all of it and his reasons...)

Then before we dive into my thoughts on the film, let me tell you : the cast and the ost were just ON POINT. Period.

I did liked the film for its very nice pacing and how truthfull it depicted bullying, and also homophobia. It was really represented very well. For the outcome of the movie, I'm confused since it was an open one yes, but too much for me. You know when you get that feeling of something unfinished ? That's what I had. We don't even know if the feelings were requited though I feel yes.

What I disliked would be the VERY borderline relationship of the two ML. I felt like it was very toxic and unsane. They had that questionnable passive-aggressive relationship. One would hit the other and then they would share a very intense eye-contact. Another time one would kiss the other and the latter would response by beating him up or litteraly spitting on his face. So I didn't got the thing when they moved from that to a sort of implied situationship especially if you have in mind Yong-jun s€xually assaulted his crush (maybe more... I didn't really understand what was going on on that scene.)

On the other side, they stayed considerate to each other. It was actually nice and very thoughtful of Gi woong to do what he could to get back the chip on which was that video the bullies took of Yong-jun as they were assaulting him.

I made a shout out to my fav characters so I'mma do the same for those I hated.
This fake a** Gitaek first. Why betray the person who in addition of being your only friend (apparently), was also the one always helping you out to the point he gets also beaten ??? This was very low. Plus Gi taek never apologized for that...

Then second one would be Class President. Oh gosh- He is exhaustivingly fake and I feel like he has some sort of inferiority complex. But boy, having a rich and powerful mother doesn't allow you to bully and even assault s€xually people with your 'friends' !Tbh, I've always felt like he wasn't straight at all (eventho he was acting all homophobic). Especially when he was talking to Yong-jun in the washrooms at the beggining.

Wished there was a second volume of the film to have my unanswered questions solved...

Unrealistic scenes to what could've been a great serial killer movie!

The story actually had potential but the acting and directing of this movie fell short. The female cop, Deputy Wu, as well as the guy helping the illegals, Yu-Sheng, were both impulsive in character and their acting. Would this actually happen in real life? It made the story unbelievable.

It had a nice twist as to who the murderer ended up being at the end, but the movie overall was just okay by then. Props to the young girl cop on her role. As for the main actress, who's suffering from PTSD, because her husband committed suicide, would not be working in the real world, as a police officer in active duty IN the field, no less. Ugh...so much hope only to be disappointed at the outcome.

its a realistic love story ,tragic and educational but realistical

before I review on the couple let me just say Sang bum being scared to express his feelings shows how generally the cruelty teenagers face when being open about them self and Min ha shows the backlash we do when we gain the courage . he is bullied, and how the adults paid no attention says a lot I mean , bullying is usually the victims fault you will hear phrases such as "you should have told us , you shouldn't have provoked them , maybe if you talked more , or they just playing." which affects how the victim sees themselves and how their made to feel like their being dramatic. Sang bum who also hints that he also transferred because of the same situation that shows how bullying can affect you at a later stage and generally this show shows how bullying can really affect people

the relationship —now the fact that sang bum is afraid to receive backlash affects Min ha cause the person he developed courage to be public about his relationship makes him feel like a Problem which bring internalized homophobia and affects Min ha's personality. Now sang bum fear affects him because as much as he is afraid and doesn't want issues he is also wants to defend Min ha ( scene where Min ha got beat up and he didn't do anything) and Min ha realising that this relationship is affecting both of them decides to leave it and unfortunately the ending is left for speculation . which makes me feel like Min ha committed suicide as he didn't come to school and no one heard from him which would make sense since the the self harm and bullying but it's overall a beautiful movie and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

Beautifully Executed Story

Typical questio. if thus is a Boylove movie is best answered by looking up the meaning of boylove. This is a true story adapted to films telling the story of a contented gay man. No hard dramas about being gay, just the natural everyday life and then meeting a person who will be then so important to him that he did everything he thought he could to help.

The camera work is raw but appropriate in making an impact on the story being told. The artists were all excellent in conveying the role of their character. Even the supporting casts were so natural that it gave a fake sense that you are part of the scene filming their get together.
The sad ending is unavoidable since this is a true story. The writer of this film already passed away from Covid sadly.
this is a beautiful work that I highly recommend for all (whatever gender pref, religion, nationality) to watch.
Keep an open mind and watch and read captions carefully not to miss anything that is connected to the story and will help clarify things for you.

romCOMEDY

if this was a comedy movie without the rom, i will gladly accept it as a masterpiece because it was funny as helll. but thenn the plot was meh, there were no characters development whatsoever, and i still don't understand why in the world they fell in love again. what were the moments that outweighed the bad memories? like...they showed how they met and how they date. that's it? mere physical attractions and 'love at first sight' thing are not big enough for me to outweigh the fact that they were NOT COMPATIBLE at ALL as a married couple.

plus, the fl character was sooo not it. i was sooo annoyed at how crazy she was. like all the bad or gross things that the ml did was reasonable (except for the cheating part ofc) and it was nothing compared to what the fl did. her personality boils me. and the ml's mother was also annoying as helll.

but the good part is the acting were phenomenal. kang haneul, jung so min and everyone in it really outdid themselves. i just didn't like how the characters were written. i liked how cool were the fl's mother in this, and how loving she was towards her daughters. i could feel her unconditional love as a mother. i also liked the bromance between ml and his friends. i found it very cute and funny haha. liked the comedy, i laughed way too hard watching this. and the cinematography experience were satisfying too. i like how the comedic editing works, the transition and the comedic pans. chef's kiss, kudos to the director. i would say this film is a very well directed comedy piece.

last but not least, i think this movie will be better if they divorced at the end. comically.

Movie has Retro Vibe..

I love a movie that makes me sob uncontrollably. This movie wasn't just romantic, it was generous and the characters had so much compassion for each other. Woon Ho loved Bo-ra so much and he did so much for her. Whenever he moved to New Zealand, I thought we was going to come back for Bo-ra. But then there was such an unexpected plot twist. I didn't expect it but most people probably did. The story was both tragic and loving. The actors did a wonderful job portraying the characters emotions. I've watched this movie twice now and will most likely watch it even more in the future. 10/10 would recommend

Disappointing

Considering all the hype surrounding this film, I was expecting to find a top notch romantic comedy about a couple getting a second chance at love. Instead what I got was the most generic and predictable story that was at times funny but mostly plain boring. I had a really hard time connecting with the characters and, worse, understanding why they should get back together at all. Yes, relationships are difficult, love it's not enough, and those involved need to put the work but this was never properly developed through the excruciating two hours film.

The acting is okay, mostly coming from supporting characters because it can't be from the leads. I am baffled as people seems to think Jung So Min and Kang Ha Neul give great performances when I have seen them do 100 times better, in the same genre, than what they delivered in this film. Personally, I don't think they are the problem. The cast was perfectly selected for each role, I would argue this film suffers from its director or scriptwriter. Maybe both.

It makes me sad to say this but Love Reset was not worth it.

Less action than expected, more courtroom drama

The Great War of Archimedes is Takashi Yamazaki's second stab at similar themes he would later refine further in the glorious Godzilla Minus One, yet he handles said themes in a way more cynical approach than what we saw with the Big Lizard. With The Great War of Archimedes, Yamazaki explores all the political and personal ramifications of building what would become the Yamato would cause Japan, inevitable war. In a way, it feels extremely derivative of Yamazaki's earlier The Eternal Zero, acting as a self-aware commentary on Japan's militarism and contemporary national ethos. Much of the film is a courtroom drama, but Yamazaki does manage to sneak in a lot of fabulously executed action, he's one of the best Japanese filmmakers when it comes to utilising CGI to augment his set pieces. Combine this with some stirring performances from its cast and a gorgeous score by Naoki Satō leaves The Great War of Archimedes as another underseen gem in Yamazaki's extensive filmography.
