Cute And Mostly Realistic.
29min and enjoyable. Believable attraction and love, lots of cuteness, and an amazingly realistic heavy make-out scene. Also realistic hyper-awareness of interactions and pda around others.FYI there is a tiny scene after the credits.
General Spoilers below.
There was one spot where the cinematography was very memorable; the mom and the boys along the fence after she finds out about their true relationship. Very striking and emotional.
What didn't work for me:
-The disturbly weird thing the mom says about her chest and her son. Just, why??? What parent would say that?
-What was the point of the guy sleeping outside his boyfriend's home if he wasn't going to stick around to talk to the mom?
-Seok Yi didn't cry at all believably in the scene with the girl drinking. But it's a very short moment.
-Cuts between scenes were always abrupt.
-The song montage at the end. Apart from the fact that the version I found didn't have subtitles for the song, it was still weird; it felt like a completely different film all of a sudden. It went from a realistic slice-of-life feel to a surreal symbolic feel.

Not good not bad
A nice movie to watch when you want to watch something simple.Pros: the actors are really good in their performances and he is very nice to look at even if he seems a bit psychotic.
I really liked the fight scenes, very real and interesting to see.
even the bullying scenes were very realistic and well done
Cons: The plot was a bit strange as far as I'm concerned with an absurd school environment and without the slightest control from the teachers.
and also it has nothing to do with the film but I got bored of always seeing films/TV series about bullying, change the plot, invent something new

Worth seeing once ??♀️
This movie wasn't bad, but had it been 2 hours instead of 1, it could've been great.Mermaid's Jade has good bones and good acting, but the short time slot leaves things not fully fleshed out. So, at what point does Yuanshan fall for Xia? There's no issues with his wife, no falling out. By all accounts, he seems to love her. Now don't get me wrong, I knew this was a BL, so I wasn't rooting for her anyway (she's gorgeous and a saint, so I didn't hate her either). Like I see the tension building and them making eyes at each other, etc. But that transition really needed more time to make sense. Also those two men had no guilt. 😂
Now the elephant in the room. Those wigs. You can't convince me they didn't bulk order those off Amazon. And the glue along everyone's hairline? 💀 The actor who played Xia clearly had issues with his since they did away with the top half and left some clip ins that were not even remotely close to the same color as his hair lmao. I did like the special effects and all Xia's mermaid powers. The supernatural elements were pretty cool in this story. However, the tears to pearls did not execute well on screen for me. It just looked so silly. 😭😂
I actually loved the ending. The ending was sweet and beautiful. I think this movie mostly fell victim to the shortness because I truthfully could've overlooked the silly things had they given me the long version instead of going "sooo long story short" because the love between Xia and Yuanshan could've been pretty epic!

Just for the contrast, take any Hollywood action blockbuster movie, it has a lot of revenge plot as a driving force. It is always some retired awesome dude that everyone feared, but now he's out of the picture, but one day something happens and this something wakes them up from their dormant state. Just an example, even the recent 'The Killer' has an attacked girfriend. Or we all know how John Wick starts.
'The Man from Nowhere' also has an awesome retired nobody, but to make him move you had to take the girl. And saving this girl becomes the greatest motivation, despite the obstacles, despite the consequences.
Story. You don't need to invent anything profound. Sometimes a good story is a simple story and I consider the story of this movie quite simple. It has a simple chain of actions and consequences, which slowly leads us to the final goal. But it still doesn't lack in emotions it evokes in you. It doesn't show much drama, there's no hysteria and no shouting and pointing to look at some horrid things, but your heart is still filled with anger, sadness and helplessness knowing that somewhere, something similar might have happened to other children.
Acting. We omit the part where it is obviously impossible for a kid to act without flaws, but the overall cast did a great job. And you know they did, because otherwise you wouldn't be so impressed. I remember watching it for the first time and later seeing some press releases and Won Bin really was the man of that time. Him and Kim Sae Ron appearing, I still remember how she wore those cute dresses. But despite the glamoure Won Bin chose quite low-key path and also started a family and I honestly wish him all the best.
OST. I want to be dramatic for a second and say - I'll slap anyone who dares to say anything about the OST. Haha kidding, but the soundtrack is great, let's agree to it and also I really fell in love with the finale theme when I first heard it, it was so unique.
At that time there was definitely a considerable amount of hype around this movie, but I find that it was deserved. Although I re-watched it only a number of times, but in my list that's an achievement. You can still watch it and it's still a great movie, it aged well.

Not Good Enough
Japanese Drama '' Honey Lemon Soda '' is a school romantic comedy with a basic plot. The beginning of the drama, if I have to be honest, was enjoyable enough, typical shoujo manga adaption, but entertaining nevertheless. The characters seemed interesting and their chemistry was spot on.
However, the story started getting boring and frustrating. Especially the leading lady's character was too hopeless and the drama that appeared here and there to spice up the story was eye rolling. But, I appreciated that they had them as a couple halfway through the movie and not just at the end.
The performances, finally, were all good by every actor and actress of the cast.
So, overall, three out of ten.

Not Good Enough
Japanese Drama '' Mune ga Narunoha Kimi no Sei '' is a school romantic comedy with a more or less basic story. The movie has a smooth pace and it has its moments, but, the overall result isn't something memorable. In fact, it took some time a few days after watching it, to remember what this movie was about. That is mainly because of the story which is a typical shoujo manga adaption style movie with few surprises when it comes to the plot. The atmosphere was youthful and light though.
The performances, moreover, were between decent to bad, but the actors and actresses of the cast are still young and probably need more experience. Plus, the genre of the story makes any mistake passable.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Not Good Enough
Japanese Movie '' The Door Into Summer '' is the adaption of the novel by the same title. The story is a sci fi drama about time traveling and family. And even though the story is interesting, the length of the drama didn't allow it to fully develop. Thus, it felt like watching a sequence of events that followed one another like a highlight read rather than a smooth progress. Also, some themes weren't handled nicely enough.
The cat, on the other hand, was cute. And the performances by every actor and actress of the cast was enjoyable.
So, overall, four out of ten.

Secret Friendship
Excellent diplomatic (historical!) action triller drama, with a touch of comedy - a standard Korean recipe of mixed genres put together to provide a complete experience. In the execution, the movie is both very realistic and surreal with many well thought details that add to the quality of production and to the message. Look for example where they put "Welcome to Mogadishu" sign in the movie about escape from the city. There is only one moment in the movie (where one person tries to raise a white flag) that i found stupid, but i understand how it was needed to add some extra intensity and peril for our main protagonists. The director does a great job never letting the movie to become boring but always adding new elements of suspense. The title of the movie reveals what the movie is about - an escape from a city/country caught in civil war, but the real drama starts when you have both South and North Korean Diplomats having to work together. This on its own made the movie worth it.
--
I just watched this movie for a second time as the opening movie of a Korean Movie Week here in Croatia and i was surprised how i enjoyed the movie now even more then when i saw it for the first time. Seeing it sitting near Korean ambassador in our Country and with a fully packed theatre of audience that laughed and gasped and cheered was an adrenaline rush, and also to me personally i managed to find many new details that i didn't see during my first watch. At this time when we have more conflicts in the world, the message of this movie is even more important.

A must see. A gem & they should all be very proud
A must watch. It's slow. It's quiet. It is superbly acted. The locations and sets are full of emotional jarring sound ever so quietly. What a gem. I cried out loud. There are multiple POV's/versions of one man's moment in time. It is great story telling. It shows you how you never really know the whole story no matter how much you think you know the person.
This is about survival by more than one person. About how one person makes a difference. Both good and bad. How one decision changes your course.
Most of all,
My wish is one world where we can be at peace, happy and proud to love and be loved as our hearts and minds see fit.
Thank you to all those that made this film.
Please leave encouraging comments to the actors page. They read it!
Thank you.

The film is wonderful
Although I do not like horror movies, this movie was very wonderful, the events were unexpected, and the acting was very, very wonderful. With the same heroine, she played her role in a wonderful and very strong way. I loved the movie a lot, even though it was somewhat provocative, but it was wonderful and it teaches you something: not to trust a site that sells used items, not to trust anyone’s words, and not even to trust me, but what you have to trust is that this movie is wonderful. 😭😭😭.Was this review helpful to you?

Left me empty
I watched this movie a few years ago when I first got into cdramas and movies and trust when I say this I was emotionally INVESTED in this movie. In some of the parts I was so lost but igs the comments on the movie kinda explained everything like the death of her family member I was so confused when they showed the red cloth thingy on her arm luckily someone commented what the red cloth meant. As for the ending, it absolutely tore me like what??? Idk if I should add the deleted scene as a part of the movie or not. Like does she just assume he got the other girl pregnant and leaves or does he come and explain everything to her and they end up together. There basically two endings for whoever wanted to choose whichever ending they wanted but i feel like they should've made the ending clear so we know whether if they met in the end or not.
Its been years and I still feel empty everytime I think about this movie, my heart genuinely hurts for them considering I was so invested in them.

It was what it was…
The plot seemed cute and endearing. One of those typical sweet BLs. The acting is STIFF. It’s very apparent that they don’t have a lot of experience. It’s made even worse by what I can only assume is awkward directing and poor editing choices. A lot of drawn out silent “contemplative” scenes where they just focus on the actors staring into space. It gives me throwback 2016 BL vibes so in that regard it’s kind of nostalgic. Was it a waste of time… I wouldn’t say yes. Was it time well spent… eh it was what it was.Was this review helpful to you?

Who needs a Prince Charming when the dame in stunning dress comes riding a white horse in high heels
Well! Bella & Bright in Thai-Indian collab is something I didn’t know I needed. This is such a refreshing and fun watch. Was so thrilling watching the familiar Thai artists dancing to a Hindi number in Indian attires. This got beautiful cinematography and some exquisite scenes. Also this has many laugh-out-loud moments.
The story is much better than many of the mindless Indian movies. I know how it goes next since I grew up watching them but still few moments were surprising. But for the ones who never tasted the Indian stuff this might be super entertaining or weird. Anyway don’t expect a groundbreaking story since it’s a rom-com.
Bella! Bella! Bella! She’s extremely beautiful, talented and needless to say single-handedly carried the entire movie. Bright on the other hand is not so bright in few scenes. He does a decent job but he’s kinda lacking at times. Coming to the Indian couple I’m an avid Indian TV viewer but never heard of them. Anyway they were okayish. All the others did an okay job too.
I don’t understand the negative comments regarding the accents. Like the ones commented got the perfect accent or whatever. Perfection is scam. Anyway given this is a Thai movie and they are Thai artists imo they spoke EXTREMELY well. Anyway British colonized India for nearly 200 years and it’s not surprising if we talk to one another in English even at our homes. There’s no such thing as the usage of our pure mother tongues anymore. English just rolls in. So as an Indian it isn’t weird to see the Indian families in this speaking to each other in English.
Music is not good but not bad either. Liked the first rap(!) tho.
The wedding scene in this became my favorite after Crazy Rich Asians’s. So beautiful. Loved the fire juggling too.
Overall this is hella vibrant, entertaining with beautiful costumes and comedy.
Hope Bella & Bright will be paired again in a lakorn. Can’t get enough of them. :)

confusing short movie
Overall: I really wanted to like this movie but I did not like one of the lead characters and was confused by the timeline/plot. 35 minutes, aired on Wayufilm's YouTube channel. What I Liked
- production value
- the actors did a good job
- the ending scene was sweet
Room For Improvement
- the timeline was confusing, the friends met up and Motor had a scar, they went on a ride but then their clothes changed (I think this was a continuity error though), then Motor hung out with his girlfriend and the other guy got unreasonably angry, then there was a flashback to a year ago where the same girlfriend he was dating in the present cheated on him and Motor got into an accident, then in the present (a year later) Motor decided to break up with his girlfriend???
the above would have made sense if that was a different girlfriend but I re-watched and it definitely seems to be the same actress, why didn't Motor break up with her for a year after that incident? or was she not actually cheating and he was just sad that she cancelled plans but they kept dating? but his friend didn't know he was dating for a year???
- didn't like how Gentle got angry at Motor when he spent time with his girlfriend, then Gentle doing the silent treatment and basically threatening to end the friendship, it would have made more sense if we had seen a montage of Motor constantly cancelling plans with Gentle last minute
- some of the scenes dragged a bit and could have been cut for faster pacing
- they seemed to establish both of them as straight with the girlfriend stuff and then talking about never holding a guy's waist before, felt like a 'gay for you' trope
