Skip the movie but watch Noble Aspirations (drama) instead

Completed - 1/8/2022

I watched "Noble Aspirations" 1 & 2 about four months ago, so I still remember the drama well enough. I noticed a movie adaptation and was interested in it. Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, it's really difficult to pack all that happened in the novel and the dramas into a short movie. If you haven't read the book or watch the dramas, you might be confused. The scene changes often from one plot to another. There is just not enough time to develop the characters and their relationships in this drama. Because it's so short, if feel like everything is done half-haphazardly.

The saving grace might be Xiao Zhan's acting. He did well portraying an innocent boy to a vengeful villain. The other actors did fine as well. I am a fan of Li Qin and I like her portrayal of Lu Xue Qi here, and more so than Yang Zi's drama version.

This is Jade Dynasty 1, does it mean there's a Jade Dynasty 2? But since it's been a few years and we haven't seen one yet, it's very likely a new movie will not happen.

I would only recommend you watch this if you are a fan of Xiao Zhan, and you have nothing else to watch. I actually quite enjoy Noble Aspirations and would recommend you watch the drama instead. Here's my review: https://kisskh.at/profile/voicelesslove/review/171507

Such an intriguing story

This was really an amazing movie. It was off to what felt like a disheveled start and there was maybe too much narration by the son in the beginning, but the story really starts coming together beautifully. The acting was magnificent and how they conveyed the depth of every character was really intriguing. You go into it with so many presumptions about the different characters, as they all seem like awful people, but when as the story unravels, I began to gain so much sympathy for them. There was a particular scene with the mother speaking to the therapist that was so well delivered and from that point on I felt as though I was living in through the whole situation with them. My heart clenched up and a lump developed in my throat.

Admittedly, I was a bit put off by the idea of the story. A family is ruined by a queer relationship. Its a touchy subject and one that if done wrong can come off crude and homophobic, but the writer did an excellent job finding humanity in each and every character. It was strange at times and other times I just couldn’t figure out why someone would behave in such a way — but at no point did I think it didn’t feel real. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for an ostensibly comedic but realistically tragic and ultimately heartwarming film.

How ‘ Ring’ Inspired A Phenomenon…

Gore Verbinski’s American remake ‘The Ring’ (2002) has arguably left a lasting impression on those who have initially seen the Hollywood movie of iconic ghosts with long hair crawling out of TVs and creating a moderately-successful horror movie with a quick formula. However the original 1998 Japanese version of the movie, Hideo Nakata’s ‘ Ring’ arguably outshines its American successor by remaining a flawed yet hidden classic that truly kicked off the wave of J-Horror onscreen.

The film focuses upon Reiko (Nanako Matsushima); a workaholic TV reporter and single mother to son Asakawa Yoichi ( Rikiya Otaka). Reiko comes across a a disturbing urban legend story about a VHS tape that has creepy occult images and puts a death-curse on the viewer. After it is finished, the viewer will receive a phone call, and within a week, will die. When Reiko watches it for herself and alongside leading man Takayama Ryuuji ( Sanada Hiroyuki) is determined to get to the bottom of the ominous tape.

Interestingly the origins of ‘ Ring’ were certainly different form expectations. Hideo Nakata and screenwriter Takahashi Hiroshi sourced the material from Koji Suzuki’s novel ‘ Ring’; a storyline that downplayed the supernatural for pseudo-science fictions and metaphors. However instead of taking Suzuki’s concept word for word, Nakata notably placed the storyline in the tradition of Japanese Yōkai and Yūrei stories with evident inspirations taken from horror classics such ‘ Poltergeist’ and ‘ Videodrome’ interweaving their way into the movie.

The executed storyline of ‘ Ring’ admittedly had its highs and lows. Indeed the movie is disturbing and well-composed cinematic shocks truly delve into the horrifying vision of Nakata’s ghost story. However with confusing narrative coils as the storyline progresses, it could sometimes make plot-progression tedious.

None so could this be so apparent with main female lead Reiko; an intriguing character, who as the main protagonist, had so much potential to be well-explored and learn to mature from her experiences. Instead Nakata could sometimes create an agonising experience of Reiko constantly flittering mood without rhyme or reason before suddenly taking the back bench for most of the events of the movie in order to make way for the unlikely swashbuckling hero of the hour Takayama.

It isn’t necessarily out of the question for the movie to highlight Reiko’s quest for help and clarity during her search for answers. However considering the relevance of Reiko as a main and quintessential character throughout the events of the series it seemed odd we rarely had opportunities to see Reiko become a more well-defined character as well as importantly, delve deeper into her initially estranged to “ loving” relationship with her son, Yoichi.

Nevertheless it is intriguing to note that whilst the plot did have many loose ends which were never truly clarified during the events of the movie, Nakata had a surprisingly artistic eye to small details throughout scenes. Lacking obtrusive shots created an immersive experience with viewers ( despite the low-budget) and helped to present focus upon evident metaphors throughout the film. Most strikingly this appeared in later events through a captivating shot on static of the well; a metaphor for the parallel isolation and alienation of its main female lead. Dark lighting or vertical structures further emphasised the kind of estrangement. Reiko and her son’s living quarters are filled with a shadow of melancholia; isolated from one another in a microcosm world devoid of warmth.

Even the soundtrack composed by Kawai Kenji captivated the ambience of the movie; sparse and rarely used until acting as a warning bell towards the few spooky atmospheric cues at tense moments thrown into the mix.

‘ The Ring’ is not a perfect film with a lot of bamboozlement and division towards the final cut. Nevertheless whilst it has arguably remained dated on its presented roles of characters and technology, there’s something ineffably timeless about the ideology of fear and suspense transcending generations in ‘ Ring’ with masterful execution by Hideo Nakata presenting one of the well-deserved classic primogenitures to the J-Horror movement.

Had its good moments

I did enjoy watching this so don't let the average review fool you — my only gripe with it is that it just kind of focused on the wrong thing.

I could have done without a lot of the North Korean military commander scenes, and I wanted to see more of the different characters interacting with each other in domestic settings. I loved the ML's scenes with the different people in the community but never got that with the other MLs, who felt very randomly inserted into the community with nobody asking any questions.

Essentially, I feel like overall this movie could have been better served going the Miracle in Cell No. 7 route and being more subtle and heart-warming with the comedy than also trying to be an action flick, even though KSH is absolutely amazing at those.

Father-daughter relationship

So the father-daughter relationship in this movie was undoubtedly the best part of it, and I really wish we had seen more of the before-after scenes with them. These scenes were so touching that scenes with the mom honestly paled in comparison and I just didn't love her as a character at all; her subplot felt very extra and I was also just not very interested in her conversations or reactions.

What I was interested in was the reaction of the children; I was honestly expecting this movie to be a lot more depressing, with instances of the community reacting with disgust or blaming the parents, or with other students being nosy/gossipy and there being bullying. But this wasn't the case at all and the movie delivered exactly what the title promised: Hope.

That's not to say that it was all positive, as of course there was the commentary on the legal system. It was interesting but they didn't go much into it and I kind of have mixed feelings on that.

Overall, this was a pretty touching movie and I did feel emotions — but it wasn't consistent.

even jing boran couldn't completely pull us through this train wreck

I went into this with pretty low expectations (although I was a bit excited for the star studded cast: Jing Boran, Angelababy, Janice Wu, Seven Tan, Li Xian, and Li Qin all in one movie :0). Having watched the drama, I know how this story is: the plot offers nothing to interest viewers, the characters and relationships are horribly shallow, and the only thing going for it is its mindless, feel-good quality.

I'll try to stay as objective as possible in terms of reviewing this movie having watched the drama and compare the drama and movie at the end of this review. That being said, it's very very clear this movie tried to fit too much into it's 1 h 42 min time frame. Whereas the drama had more time to flesh things out (whether they effectively fleshed them out is a different question), the movie lacked in plot, character, and relationship development. For instance, the Meng Yiran mean-girl-trope could've been completely sliced out of the plot. She literally showed up twice and added absolutely nothing to the story. Especially for those who haven't watched the drama, the movie offers a cramped, rushed, and incomplete interpretation of the story that jumps all over the place. As a result, that feel-good atmosphere you expect from a college romance is never created.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by Angelababy's Bei Weiwei. Her acting is definitely forced and very unnatural at times, and I would by no means call her a good actress, but she gave Bei Weiwei a bit of nerdy charm that I rather liked. Shockingly enough, her beauty was only mentioned once, and it was easy to think of her as a normal, passionately dorky college kid. As for Jing Boran as Xiao Nai, I can only say that Xiao Nai is fundamentally a terribly written character, a completely perfect, one-dimensional character with zero personality. Still, I appreciated the emotions Jing Boran managed to siphon out of Xiao Nai's lifeless character. Have you seen Jing Boran act like he's in love? Literal hearts coming out of this man's face.

As for Angelababy and Jing Boran together... it's safe to say they have very little chemistry. Part of it is definitely due to the time limit of the movie and the choice to show little of the development of their relationship. Perhaps if the running time were a little longer, they could've been a generic, mediocre cdramaland couple, but their chemistry is nowhere near strong enough to make it in a movie as short as this one. Bei Weiwei and Xiao Nai's relationship also made zero sense to me. By the end, I was still wondering what they like about each other, how they fell in love with each other, and why they were even together.

My biggest complaint has to be the editing. It was almost as if someone filmed a bunch of scenes and put them together using imovie or something. The transitions are a horrible fade out, and most of the time the scenes don't even connect in a way that makes sense. The movie jumps from scene to scene and expects the viewer to keep up, and most of the scenes are left hanging and unfinished. Definitely does not seem like a professional movie. The music as well was unnecessarily loud and drowned out the lines sometimes.

MOVIE VS DRAMA
Of course it's impossible not to compare the movie to the drama and vice versa. The first thing I noticed is that this movie fails to achieve the show Love O2O's laidback atmosphere, mostly because they tried to cram so much in such a little time frame. We also miss the only thing I really liked about the show: the relationship between Xiao Nai and his three hilarious friends. The side characters understandably have less screen time in the movie than in the drama, which put more pressure on the leads to carry the movie.

However, I will say I prefer Jing Boran's Xiao Nai over Yang Yang's Xiao Nai. In my opinion, Jing Boran displayed a wider range of expressions, emotions, and subtleties in acting. I also felt that movie Xiao Nai was more down-to-earth than drama Xiao Nai despite his "perfect" concept. The same actually goes for Angelababy as Bei Weiwei; I thought the movie's portrayal of the characters, although still shallow, was more relatable and more fun than the drama's. The biggest difference between movie Bei Weiwei and drama Bei Weiwei is that drama Bei Weiwei is built up to be a perfect girl: smart, beautiful, soft-spoken and gentle, while movie Bei Weiwei is more rough around the edges, a bit more loud and crazy. I also liked how the movie places Bei Weiwei at an equal level to Xiao Nai by having her a play a large role in the game development team, while in the drama, she is more of an intern in Xiao Nai's company.

Overall, I understand why the drama was better received than the movie, and would probably recommend watching the drama first. However, as far as characterization goes, I would say the movie did a better job than the show.

…an engaging personal drama that quietly opens a relevant dialogue with its audience

It’s safe to say that the equality movement has been a little slow on the uptake in certain Asian cultures. But that’s not to say that the status quo isn’t beginning to be nudged, with films such as I Don’t Fire Myself finding purchase in mainstream media.

Written and directed by Tae-gyeom LEE, the film follows the struggles of Jung-Eun (Da-in YOO from 2019’s The Snob), an employee of an electric provider, who is relegated to a small coastal subcontractor outside the city after her abusive male colleagues attempt to oust her from head office.

Once she arrives at the new outpost, where she finds herself to be the only female employee, Jung-eun faces a new wave of misogynistic and sexist challenges before one of her co-workers, Choong-ski (Jung-se OH of It’s Okay To Not Be Okay fame), who happens to be raising three daughters on his own while working numerous jobs, reluctantly takes her under his wing.

As a workplace drama, I Don’t Fire Myself is an effective insight into the abusive culture seen in Korea’s corporate world, but where the film really shines, is in its ability to showcase the psychological damage such a culture inflicts on its victims.

Making his directorial debut, Tae-gyeom shows remarkable sensitivity with his characters, instilling his protagonist with a fragile strength and insight that never indulges problematic narratives or victimhood. Da-in YOO’s portrayal of Jung-eun is beautifully realised, with the actor deftly embodying a vulnerability and desperate determination that adds a heartbreaking realism to her fleeting moments of self-loathing, alcohol abuse and her eventual lashing out at those manipulating her career path.

I Don’t Fire Myself isn’t exactly the perfect metaphor for the social issue it tackles, but it does effectively use its narrative to deliver an engaging personal drama that quietly opens a relevant dialogue with its audience.

In my personal opinion, the plot and setting of this film is too slow and monotonous. For the first hour even I felt sleepy while watching it. Apart from that, the plot is also a bit confusing at the start (or am I the slow one? LOL). If I don't force it (because of Oh Jung-se for sure), maybe I'll choose to drop off. However, in the second half of the hour, I started to feel the tension, the film also started to show its direction, although it wasn't extremely exciting either.

Pen as Weapon, A Classic Filipino Film Worth Everything

Jose Rizal is a movie reflecting the real events that happened in the life of Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. Released on the year of 1998, it is considered as a classic artwork bearing positive impacts and sense of enlightenment to every viewer especially the Filipino citizens. It is a movie mainly focused on freedom and revolution as its theme. Thus, Jose Rizal as the central character of the story is the narrator and the one who elicits the movement of the plot which is concentrated on the discrimination and pure abuse of the Spanish colonizers.

This movie is crowded by experienced and veteran artists of the industry. Ceasar Mantano who played Rizal is accurately engrossed on his role who is Rizal himself leaving every spectator no chance to separate his portrayal towards the factual Jose Rizal in person of his time. Pen Medina as Paciano Mercado, Jaime Fabregas as Luis Taviel de Andrade, Chin Chin Gutierez as Josephine Bracken, Ima Adlawan as Lucia Rizal, Gloria Diaz as Teodora Alonso and Gardo Versoza as Andres Bonifacio to name a few were part of the huge role list of the film. To use Spanish language as part of the script of this project is certainly demanding therefore hats off to every actor who is involved for the requirement. Although technology is unlikely modern to this era compared to the advance tools and methods of today, still the production team made a version that can fulfill anyone’s expectation.

Meanwhile, the very essence of the film revolves around on the truths during the colonial period of the Spaniards to the Philippines. Hence, the story reveals topics and issues that are complex and sensitive if to discuss back in the actual era of the Spaniards. The movie makes a great nostalgic feeling to its viewers. The culture, beliefs, and values diligently followed by everyone back then were seldom obeyed or forgotten by the current young generation. A sentimental person like me would truly be enticed by the naked splendor of this film that describes the former way of life of the people.

Needless to say, above all, one objective of the movie targets to the element that reserve for the awareness of the future youth. How Jose Rizal did started all his hopes for the reform of the government policies. How his simple idea of writing to the people has elevated the courage of the native Filipinos. Why did he yearn for equality and freedom from oppression the most? All of these ambitions were formed for the desire of identity, that Filipinos are never inferior to every mestizo and mestiza.

With regards to the whole conceptualization of the film, it was arranged in a wise scheme. Visualizing all the specifics of the life of Rizal would indeed create a lengthy outcome. However, on this work, all details in Rizal’s life were put into a flashback which is an excellent technique to tell a story. Even the scenes on his novels were inserted and connected to every phase of the movies to show connection on how his life and the characters of his narratives were similar. From his experiences when he was young until he went to Ateneo and Sto. Thomas to his expedition to Europe then the time when he finally published his books and how these records received different kinds of feedbacks were all detailed in the movie. This can’t be felt in a premise of two hours and thirty minutes since the film contains every possible means to make the audiences thoroughly engage.

Subsequently, Jose Rizal the movie serves not only entertainment but also educational functions. Deeper on this movie’s foundation is the verity that Rizal has sacrificed his one and only self for many number of Filipinos on that era who desire for liberty. This is to remind how precious our current sovereignty because of him and the other heroes who bled for independence and identity of their fellows. Hence, as what he has emphasized and has argued, education is the key for improvement and now that it is free it should be cultured by all.

Rizal also highlighted that freedom cannot just only be obtained through forceful and bloody actions. Peace can also be achieved by nonviolent measures. As a proof for that, Rizal used his own talents in words and language to describe and depict the hidden injustices of the colonizers in every details of his story, articles and propaganda. This silent method of regaining the freedom for every Filipinos have led to revolution all over the country, has involved many individuals but also resulted to victory.

Therefore, Jose Rizal movie is truly a worthwhile production. To every late Filipino generation, this is a significant representation of time that has been lost long ago. Jose Rizal as a national figure is known by many for his famous name yet most youth of now are even unaware of the depth of his purpose. Jose Rizal’s wisdom varies and will be always a source of strength in periods of ups and downs. He left a great legacy which is freedom and identity, as a Filipino, we are forever indebted to him and to many other heroes of the motherland.

Fluff, fluffier, fluffiest...

This movie is really touching and sweet showing a palette of fluffy pets and the stories attached to them and their owners. Truly exploring the meaning of ownership mixing humour, cuteness, suspense, love as well as the very painful loss... And in a way how we all are connected in one way or another.

The different relationships shown are very touching and feel real (except foe one with a ghost). I decided to watch this with my 9 year old as the first asian movie I watch with her and she was truly touched by it. Loving the fluff and brought to tears more than once when reminded of our own story of loss of our pet a few years back.

I personally loved the fluff, the people, the animals and how simple this movie is... it does not dig to deep and truly does show how pets affect humans lives. Also this did not help with my long time dream of owning a pig...

All in all definitely a movie I recommend, just do not forget the tissues.

Based on the manga Gunjou - Must read to understand

This is based on a manga called Gunjou and I believe all of these reviews don't realize it is from a manga. I completely understand the confusion and lack of interesting plot to these viewers but I for one is glad that this was made. It is definitely missing a lot of critical information such as the relationship between Rei and her ex gf Ichiko, Nanae's extremely abusive father, and the manga's ending. In addition to missing out on many scenes on their toxic relationship developing into something more mutual and their struggles of trying to understand each other better. Their love for each other is toxic yet loyal only for each other.

The manga definitely holds a special place in my heart, however, I have two issues with the movie. One was their sex scene, it seemed really messy and gave off male gaze of their understanding of lesbian sex scenes, it was uncomfortable to watch. My second issue was the ending because it is completely different from the manga. but other wise, it is a really good live action movie of a manga, which we rarely get.

I highly recommend those that have watched or will watch Ride or Die to read the manga because it will hold onto your heart and leave you breathless.

Wholesome and subtle

From the cover and the blurb of this movie, I really thought it would be one of those really dark and quiet movies where it was just one tragedy after another and no one ever communicating with each other. But this wasn't the case at all.

This movie was surprisingly wholesome and realistic. None of the conflicts felt out-of-the-blue, dramatic, or blown out of proportion, and the characters also reacted in the same way. They felt like real people and the relationship between the sisters was undoubtedly the best part of the movie.

My only gripe with this might be the ML. While I do love a beta male lead and he had some good moments, some of the things he did and said were just really cringy and he was persistent to the point of annoyance sometimes; he had good conversations with his parents but other than that it was almost as if he didn't have his own personality or life outside of the female lead. I almost would have preferred it too if the FL's character development of living her own life wasn't shown only through whether or not she let herself date this guy.

Other than that, this was actually pretty light-hearted and I loved how it depicted the hearing impaired community. This movie is representation done right.

Meandering and Pointless

This is a very strange movie. While there is a ghost, he doesn't do anything ghosty at all, to the point that there's no real reason to have had him be one. When it's revealed, there's not even a fun reaction, like the other guy running screaming into the night. He just acts bratty and petulant.

This brings up another problem with the story. The non-ghost character is so unappealing that it's just impossible that two almost supernaturally attractive people would be that into him. He's nondescript and has a horrible personality, and nothing really to recommend him. The ghost is so hot that my heart rate was dangerously elevated all the way through the film, but he also has an unappealing personality that I can forgive for the tight black t-shirt he wears all the way through the film.

It feels like the author just inserted herself into the story as the uke and had hot men falling all over him for no apparent reason and no real plot in mind, so she shrugged and made the seme dead just to be sort of different. The secondary couple are angels of death that have 30 seconds of screen time and no real context for their relationship, other than adhering to the theme of showing love solely through bullying and being psychotically controlling.

Worst of all, it's just boring. There is really not point to watching this, other than the ghost's muscled body, handsome face and oozing sex appeal. But you could just go to the actor's IG instead.

Well, that happened.

I saw the uncut version on GagaOOLala.

I really wanted to like this - and at first I did. The selfie scene at the beginning is profoundly funny, and the OTT campy action early on is really entertaining. But then it just bogged down and became dull. For some reason, Asian BLs can't help themselves - they all have to revolve around women, in this case a pair of vampire hunters who serve as mannequin villains, who take up way too much screen time. They could have been completely eliminated from the story and the struggle centered on rival vampire clans. I presume there was a producer somewhere who read the script and said "too gay. Put in hot chicks" as if crowds of straight men are going to watch this.

It is definitely BL, and it's not read-between-the-lines-of-bromance - it's explicitly BL. But it's not prominent. If you're planning to watch it for that, I would pass.

This was disappointing. Maybe it's worth watching the first 20 minutes or so for the campy fun, but after that there's not a lot of reward for your time. It needed to cut loose and go seriously OTT. It feels a little like that was the plan, and for some reason th brakes were hit. It's too bad this wasn't Japanese.

Watch and enjoy

, or its Korean title, , is a crime film revolving around voice phishing scams, and I’m not sure as to why they decided to have a different English title from the Korean, as the Korean title is also in English… Nevertheless, both fit the movie and its narrative well, but I’ll refer to the film as , as that’s the official English title.

》The Good《

Right off the bat, Kim Mu Yeol was absolutely incredible. He fit his role so well, and made it really believable that he was a con artist. I can’t say that all roles were good fits, or that all actors gave their best performances, but I can for sure say that Kim Mu Yeol was extraordinary. He’s an astounding actor and his performance in this was the best I’ve seen of his in recent years.

Stepping back a little and looking at the film on a more macro sense, is about an ex-cop taking revenge. Does that sound familiar? , , and all have a similar overall theme. Of course, there are numerous differences and identifying details that make each movie what it is, but they all fall under the umbrella of ex-authority going after evil and getting revenge.

And zooming in on a micro sense, this is a small detail but the opening title sequence left a noteworthy impression on me. It was like an American crime drama series opening, with its text, music, and transitions. Moreover, there were a few chuckle-worthy points in the film, but overall the movie didn’t have much humor.

And most importantly, does an incredible job showcasing in a very realistic way how voice phishing scams take advantage of vulnerable people during unstable states. It’s extremely cruel. There’s a quote in the film that goes something like “Let’s show them a taste of hell,” and this is quite literally the case, as the scammers display a short glimpse of happiness and joy to the victims, but it’s actually cold-blooded evil in disguise. Extremely cruel and gruesome, and makes you wonder how a human being can do such wicked acts to another human. The scary thing is, this is all true and happening in real life. There are victims every day of these scams every day.

》The Bad《

With about 30 minutes left, the movie kind of goes south all of a sudden. It felt like they rushed to conclude, which is quite unfortunate because I feel like what they were able to accomplish prior was quite good. Nevertheless, I will also say that the overall progression was on the faster side. A sequence, after a sequence, after a sequence, without much deeper engagement. So I guess that’s why it felt like the movie rushed to finish even more, since the overall momentum of the film was on the quicker side.

Furthermore, it’s sad to say, but the ending was pretty unlikely, or very unlikely. However, with a movie like this, a hopeful ending and conclusion is almost kind of necessary. It’s just that it’s probably really unlikely in real life that victims will get their money back in whole.

There were also other parts that didn’t make sense. Minus small details, there were also parts that had me questioning some parts, like how Korean cops are taking the lead, especially when entering the call center building, when they’re in China. Shouldn’t the Chinese authorities be in charge?

And lastly, I said Kim Mu Yeol was incredible, but I can’t say that all casting were good. Most notably, Park Myung Hoon. Park Myung Hoon had his breakout performance in , who played the man that lived in the basement of the Park family’s home. He has a freaky look in his eyes, which shined in , and he had it partially in this as well, but it wasn’t half as notable. Personally, I think it was a missed casting call with him, as we weren’t able to see him at his full potential. He didn’t leave a big impression in this, and was like a comedic/parody character from .

》Verdict《

Good action, thrill, an intriguing storyline, and suspenseful moments were all found in . Movies like these are needed to raise awareness. The more aware people are, the less victims there will be falling for voice phishing scams. If the movie helped prevent even one more person from falling victim to these scams, one less victim, then I say job well done. If you are a fan of crime actions, or the main leads Byun Yo Han and especially Kim Mu Yeol, I recommend giving this a go. (○_<)
