Boring and not interesting
The story is very boring. I watched it till the end with both displeasure and not happy feeling.I'm just waiting and watching it till the end of story bcz i just want to know how this story will end.
The ending is predictable. The character and female roles are very flat. There is no interesting storyline of this film.
Oh Soo's character is described as very emotional but his acting doesn't show anything like that.
The female police officer is very boring. characteristics of the police that are very absent in today's environment.
And other supporting characters are not well described. Looks like just a passing cameo.
There is no focus storyline and focus role for each character.

Shocking plot twist in the house yeah..
It was all great as they depicts a realistic problem of LDR couples. As an audience who doesn't like typical plot this was remarkable. I think no one could have ever guess the plot twist.Acting wise there was nothing to say. They did well, it was all natural. Besides, the shots were typically good for me.
The characters were portrayed agreeably that I personally hate a particular character. I saw and barely understand everyone's point of view.
As for the music there was nothing that get stuck on my mind. They did not prioritize the background music that much I believe.
All in all, it's great and fine, it just all went wrong in the coda. In which, they could have explain more rigorously.

Super underrated masterpiece!!| Maybe I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed this..
***
This movie has always been in my list since it got into Netflix. I'm a huge fan of one shot sci fi & action movies that used perfect CGI effects like Yin Yang Master : Dream of Eternity so when I saw the trailer I was thrilled and the movie really exceeded my expectation. It's a shame I just discovered it on 2021. But, I never regret every second I watched this MASTERPIECE! Yep, I said that. I don't know why it got very low ratings despite all the allegories, symbols, theories & lessons to be learned.
Well, here's a cup of my thoughts about this movie :
❤Story : 8,5/10. I rated this high, bcs how impressed I was with the idea, creativity & rich literacy that the writer aka Mr.Chong used in this movie (Feud's theory of Id, Ego & Super Ego, Carl Jung's & theory of hirearchy of dreams). The pacing is quite good for a one shot movie, it also blends well with how diverse the genres they included. One thing for sure, you'll be surprised with multiple plot twists that will literally blow & twist your mind. A great movie will leave its viewers with theories, debates & reasonable questions that depends on how we interpreted it. This movie is literally the epitome of that.
Basically it will tell you a story about self discovery of a young genious, idealist soon to be writer-Sang Yu- that had severe insomnia for months. He fell into deep despair & depression, he failed being a survivor in the society bcs of his own insecurities & fear to take an action towards his dreams. The only thing that kept him sane was the love of his life-Hua'er. But the reality hit him hard when he couldn't differentiate the reality & imagination/delusion. He then unfortunately traded his life to satisfy his desire. Things get messy & adventurous when Sang Yu discovered that he could bring back something valuable in the dream world in exchange for money, wealth & what he thought was 'love'. But for everything has its price, he soon discovered that anything in this world is not free and easy to take.
At first, I felt kinda confused with how the world in this movie is working, but slowly I understand between each of parallel universes (the dream & reality/life & death/the past & future). It actually has the same vibe as "Inception" & I love it!! The way the story line tells a man who gets wealth in a short time is actually cliche & you can actually predict multiple usual endings of it, but I'm satisfied with the way they brought the movie overall.
❤Actings : 10/10. Props to the legendary Darren Wang for once again carried the whole movie on his shoulders. I'm pretty sure if it's another actor, I may not rate this movie this high. Darren Wang always amazed me with his skills, damn he always took me into his roller coaster of emotions. Another shout out to the rest of the casts, they did amazing too!
❤Cinematography : 10/10. Almost perfect shoots, angles, cuts/transitions & most importantly I love the CGI works!
❤Music : 7,5/10. Nothing worth to remember but the sound effects are placed perfectly. It complemented the action sequences.
Things I'd like to criticize :
(-)Once again, I really wanted the production team to extend this premise & story line into a big series. 20 episodes maybe? Just like "Monster Hunt", we didn't get the chance to delve into the world of "Super Me" that well. The production team fortunately made a justice to the story line for a one shot movie, but to make this into a much better project, it'd be better to explain & add the background stories of each of the characters (like how the kind vendor went through the same way as Sang Yu did, or how San literally had the loyalty towards Sang Yu in wealth & poor, the indepth explanation of the dream world, new characters, etc) into a series.
(-)How difficult it was for the viewers to interpret the ENDING! I had multiple theories & I sorted them into two main possibilities (SPOILER ALERT!! : a.)Either Sang Yu had already died bcs he was killed by the mafia/trapped in the 'in between dream & reality' world so the happy ending actually his dream all along, or b.) Sang Yu did survive and the ending showed that the demon (his super ego) has incorporated with his actual life and will always be there to remind Sang Yu to not go back to the way he was ) It's up to you guys how you wanted to interpret it.
(-) SPOILER ALERT!! One plot hole I seem to notice : When Sang Yu trapped in the 'in between dream & reality' world, he envisioned his past and one of the highlights was how he died/actually jumped from the building. So was that true? He actually died and all along it was his dream/his spirit trying to get the things that he couldn't get in the real life?
Other than that, I loooveee this movie! Yes it will make your head go crazy or even feeling slight depressed for thinking the suitable interpretation of the ending, but trust me, it's worth your time. One clear message that I get while I watched this movie : DON'T BE AFRAID TO TAKE LONG-LONG BABY STEPS TOWARDS YOUR DREAMS, FOR A SUDDEN ACHIEVEMENT THAT YOU GOT FROM CHEATING WILL ONLY COSTS YOU MORE.
So, what are you waiting for? Watch this masterpiece & tell me your theories!
(P.S. For one of the explanations/ theories for the ending : https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cinemablend.com/news/2567591/super-me-ending-explained-was-it-all-just-a-dream )
Overall, I'll score this movie 8,5/10 ❤

another multiverse Mulan bites the dust
this is an action adventure film adaptation of a female heroine from ancient traditional folklore. this film re-imagines the character, re-imagines her ordeals, and re-imagines the universe/arc she lives in (like amultiverse of sort). this film is suitable from teenagers segment and above. it has decent quality filmatography, lighting effects, and film quality shooting techniques accompanied with generally enjoyable background sound/music arrangements and selections.there is nothing fresh/original and outstanding about the storyline and the plot. this film offers a generous employment of natural environment, but there are a few goofs (for example, the same scene from 2 different angles show the moon differently, one with a full moon while another with 3/4 of a moon). some of the actors' performances are decent, but not enough to make them endearing. martial arts choreographies are accompanied with string-fu and they are arguably enjoyable. the casting, actors, and performances are decent, but nothing outstanding. there are minor inconsistencies with the dubbing (voice over) but overall it's passable.
from the ending, it looks like the producer and/or the director planned for a sequel.
the film starts to go downhill fast for me starting from the battle scene midway through the film. the chronological order of the decelerating enjoyment goes like this = observable issues with the battle scene -> dancing-singing Mulan -> drunken Mulan revealing she is a woman -> the shaman/witch segment -> etc.
//turnoffs//
- translation is mediocre. for example, come on, (Thai) baht? we are talking about Northern Wei dynasty in the 4th century AD here.
- the realism aspect of the fighting scenes can at times be lacking and inconsistent. it's the same issue with the battle scenes, the design/setup and choreography are nice, but the realism aspect is inhibited. i am not fully certain if this is entirely the director's fault, the editing's fault, or both. a few examples, i) the killing of captured prisoners segment. there is no way anybody will get hurt by the way the sword is moved to cut the throats; ii) the battle scene midway through the film. there is a segment of 2 soldiers thrusting their spears towards an enemy. thing is, the enemy vomits out blood when the tips of the spears barely touched the surface of his armor; iii) at the battle scene midway through the film, when the two opposing armies rushed towards each other, you can actually observe a few of the extras halting and waiting (for something). it's battle, doing that will get you hacked and killed instantly; iv) the actor playing Mulan fumbles with the sword grip; iv) sometimes the actor playing Mulan's sword swing looks low-energy and slow, and there are a few instances that the way she holds the sword could easily injure her wrist; etc.
- sometimes there are editing effects that can get distracting and annoying, like the flashes of light, blurring effect, etc.

A realistic look into the human heart
This movie sort of reminded me of an old fairytale/fable, with a godfather, moral of the story etc. Romance comes second to what is ultimately a slice of life movie.I feel like the biggest reason it is getting such negative critique is because the whole concept of cheating doesn't align with peoples' moral compasses and then everything else they watch is automatically seen with a more judging eye.
To be honest, I felt that the movie did a great job aligning to everyones' moral compass.
It showed that a lot of factors can come into the swaying of the human heart (the desire to take care of someone, location and just being present, workplace commitment, timing conflicts etc).
It showed that we can often be blind, irrational, and take for granted what has already been obtained.
It showed that there are many reasons one enters into a relationship. It showed that love... can be fleeting.
However, it also provided a glimpse of hope that there may be some good people, who can love someone irrationally, who can show good gestures from the heart, and that those who perservere in this way will, quote on quote, "get the girl".
But ultimately, this was a movie that really captured the weakest parts of the human heart, made vulnerable for the world to see.
It wasn't an extravagant and mind blowing movie, but it accomplished what it had set out to do. A light-hearted movie with some thought provoking moments that I would recommend to anyone that just wants a nice and relaxing watch.

When nuclear testing causes disturbances across the area, including the underwater world of Seatopia, their leader, Emperor Antonio, clad in a white toga with go-go boots and wearing a tiara with what looks like a replica of Megalon's head, calls for the giant cockroach to appear and retaliate against the humans. Megalon heads to Tokyo and starts tearing things up in town.
Meanwhile back at a Japanese lab a couple of humans and a kid are admiring the new robot they've created, Jet Jaguar, which was likely brought in to make the movie even more kid friendly. It reminded me of a creepy clown Ultraman. A couple of Seatopians show up and the kidnappings begin because they want the robot technology.
Ultimately, Jet Jaguar and Godzilla team up against Megalon and Gigan. It takes until two thirds of the movie to get the monster action going but when they do the fun begins. There are monster high fives and handshakes, dispelling any notion that these are giants guided by instinct.
When Godzilla shows up, the music doesn't announce a scary monster, it sounds more like someone's drunk Uncle Tony is stumbling onto the scene. The music was not very inspiring in this movie.
A giant cockroach seems apropos as a mortal enemy, they were here long before humans and will likely be here long after humans. I've always thought they'll be the ones to take over once we're gone in the hopefully very distant future. Thankfully, this time a giant irradiated lizard was able to keep cockroach world domination at bay.

So confused......
Honestly I really wanted to enjoy this movie but I felt like the story was really disjointed. If it had not been for the synopsis I would never have understood that he had travelled back in time. I definitely could see where scenes had been cut, I would have much rather had it as a seamless move rather then cut up into only 11 minute episodes. I spent much of the movie scratching my head wondering what was going on . Is their an uncut version? I felt like the shortness of the episodes meant that I just couldn’t get involved with the. Characters. Was this review helpful to you?

in contrast to the boppy james bond type of music bg, the movie presents the hurdles and struggles of the ones who are having it rough. this actually highlights poverty, corruption and also the horrible crimes that are very much relevant till this day. where it fell short for me was the transition from the present and then quickly switches to the origin of the gun. when it did switch back to the present, it didn't make much sense of why the main lead is heading to her rapist instead of her roommate's boyfriend as it was hinted she was heading to his house. the consistency was lacking.
overall, this movie promotes awareness of unjust malpractices and victims of violence resorting to violence because of how inflated their hardships are.

An amazing but simple movie that now lives in my head rent-free
This movie's summary sounded really bare but the trailer looked good and it was offered at a film festival so I decided to check it out. It was a damn good and I'm kind of obsessed with it right now! The story is about a high school student who witnesses a younger student being brutally bullied by her classmates and decides to step in, admittedly out of a hero complex. One of the most kindest MLs I've seen so far, he is so kind and sweet to her and they get closer... and then the story goes into some dark places but I won't spoil it, since it builds to a really romantic, heartwarming conclusion imo.The story wasn't groundbreaking or special, I'll be first to admit, all the weird little quirkiness aside, but it was still engaging and resonated with me. It was quite deep and heartfelt - it showed how even in the darkness of this world and human behaviour, there are still good people out here who commit to being someone's light. The acting was top-notch, especially on Ishii Anna's part. I didn't really notice the music that much but it wasn't bad.
Overall, an enjoyable movie, perhaps even one of my favourite out of all the Japanese movies I seen so far and I'll probably rewatch it in the future whenever it is available.

It's interesting but gets a bit weird
So first of all. I wanna say that I'm stillnot the best at writing reviews. So im sorry in advance if it doesn't make sense...*Story*:
Ok so the basic plot starts off with a normal guy working for an advertisment company and he ends up meeting his old friend (mao) from junior high. They start to fall in love again and runaway together and get married. So up until now everything is still normal. But than the Fantasy in this movie starts....
So it turns out that mao was actually the cat that scrathed him on his hand. (You'll see if you watch it). And she wanted to become human, but in the end of the movie she dies I think and everyone forgets about her. But at the very end he meets her again in a park.
So if you like romance with a bit of a weird twist than you'll enjoy it.
*Cast*
One of the reasons I watched this movies is because of Jun Matsumoto. I love his role in Hana Yori Dango and really wanted to see him in other movies too. So his acting was great. As for the Mao actress. I think this is the first movie I've seen with her, but her acting was good too.
*Music*
The english song they played was good. I think the other music is nice too.
*Rewatch Value*
So even though the story was a bit weird. I definitely don't regret watching this and If I ever am bored or something I might Watch again. But I think once was enough. So give it a watch.
*Where you can find it*
So I thought I should add this in, because a lot of people probably wonder where to watch. So if you don't know. You can download or watch on Kissasian or on dramacool too.
See you <3

A fun, introspective watch.
Sweet and Sour is a movie about a young couple who face stress in their relationship due to the long distance romance they have to keep up with. It deals with infidelity led along the lines of emotional level as well as physical (to an extent.)The plot isn’t exceptional, but the way it has been filmed and depicted does show an original twist. The FL is a character who needs to connect on an emotional level to feel the romance and the male lead masks the distance between them as reason why he drifts out of the relationship. Both of them represent such different kind of circumstances and reactions despite being in the same relationship.
The movie has its cute moments, some wtf moments, moments that make you introspect on the flawed nature of both the characters.

I like the math part here ahhahaha
Sorry im honestly biased with this review because I like Math and was really very amaze how the probability of rock paper scissors was explained here. Like, wow!! It is rare to find drama that incorporate such script. It open my mind that rock paper scissors can be played that way (Ehhe thanks to rewind feauture of netflix. I wont understand this whole thing when watched continously). ( I suck in probability so I hope I had even 10% or 20% of Kai Si`s intelligence. That will help me a lot I swear)Ahha sorry I dont care about the other flaws of this movie except for the the part wherein the clown is killing aliens like huh?? It look gross and it is frustrating. I understand it symbolize the stress the main character is going through but it actually made the movie worse.

MAJOR SPOILERS The queer coding is next level, I loved it.
Absolutely on point acting and next level psychological thriller like Forgotten.
Basically, you think you know what it's about, but you DON'T.
And God is it a tearjerker! I'm a mess rn!
From the moment he was trying to hurt and maim himself and said please come back, ffs it was obvious how desperate he was. And you can disagree with me but they were in a weird threesome with Mai, I mean "for the experiment " was basically code for 'I have feelings for you but I don't know how to deal with it ' since they were both pretty much using the 'ghost lab' as a way to cope with everything and to have a reason to be close to each other.
Just look at the minimal screen time the gf has, she's basically just conflict for their love.
Even that cutesy ass scene where Paris 'jokes' with Tor and basically gazes in his eyes whn theyre at the vending machine alone at night, and says something like Its The Power of Love P MO omfg so much content like this.
But that ending ah. Pure perfection.
I watched it from when Tor falls to the ground and ends up in the morgue and Paris comes alive in his dead body, it should have been gross, but it wasn't. I watched it five times already ㅠㅠ
It was just the most beautiful, poetic scene I've seen, kinda like that Untamed scene where Xue Yang does with Xiao Xinchens dead body, and it's not gross it's just really really sad.
Also, I might have finally lost it BUT WHY WAS GHOST PARIS SO DAMN SEXYYYY

A movie that doesn't take any chances.
Set in 1910 during the industrialization in Japan, this movie depicts the conflict between a mining company and a farming village in Ibaraki Prefecture. Based on true events, the movie deals with environmental issues, capitalism and idealism. This felt like watching a documentary. The story overall was interesting, but the execution wasn't that good. It wasn't a bad movie, but it felt pretty generic and slow at times. I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't as long and if they had fleshed out the characters more.
Considering this was released in 2019 because of the music and the cinematography it felt like the movie was way older. I do think that it was fitting the story. We got some pretty landscape shots and I liked the setting. The two lead actors did a good job and I liked how the movie showed the struggles of both sides.
If interested in the topic it's good enough for a one time watch but nothing too memorable.

UNEXPECTED
i came into this thinking this might be the typical action packed tragedy movie but no i was wrong suspense wise this was just avg , plot was also avg but nearing the end things changed it went from somewhat action packed to full on sad, the last 15mins or so was a tearjerker. I usually never cry while watching movies but this one got me, things just felt so real and the patriotism these people had in them was just... wow .overall i def rec this movie it was a very educational movie that teaches us on how catastrophic these events can be and what is to be unveiled when governments don't take issues seriously
