Heartwarming family story

I really enjoy watching "Cheer Up, Mr. Lee", there are some scenes that are so heartbreaking, audience need a handkerchief to wipe teary eyes. The young actress, Uhm Chae Young that portrays Saet Byul performs so well as a cancer patient and steals our hearts. The veteran actor, Mr. Cha Seung Won, is really good in his act as a disabled Chul Soo. He performs it so well; it must not be an easy act to do. All actors/actresses really interpret their characters well and deliver a heartwarming story. The interaction between two brothers, Chul Soo and Young Soo reminds us of how brothers are; it is funny to watch but it must be painful to live with a disabled brother, obviously, a strong brotherly bond that keeps them together in thick and thin. The family interactions between Young Soo and his wife, Eun Hee, and his daughter, Min Jun, look so real that it could happen in any family situations. Their love as a family is palpable. I really recommend this heartwarming film

Very serious moviewhich pokes around animal rights, corporate world and genetic mutation

I have been delaying to watch this movie for years. I actually thought that it is a light-hearted movie but I was wrong. This movie questions serious problems such as animal cruelty for the sake of business profits and genetic mutations. Unfortunately, these kind of movies are not really my cup of tea.

I'm kind of curious if there's a sequel because I felt like I needed to know more details to fully enjoy the movie.Another thing is that I was hoping for a happy ending however it didn't end as I expected. Casts were able to portray their roles reasonably and the graphics are amazingly outstanding. It makes up at least half of the movie itself.

All in all, this was a pretty decent film if you have free time. If there will be a sequel, I'll be watching it for sure to know further about Mirando's company and AFL.

A different kind of disaster movie

What I really liked about this movie is that compared to most it's relatively low stakes. It's not humanity vs the end of the world, it's about saving one town. It was nice to see that the only 'villain' of the story is nature. There's no evil capitalist putting money ahead of people's lives. Instead everyone comes together to do what they can to help regardless of the financial impact. It's refreshing to see when the news seems to be full of people being selfish at the moment.

The acting was fantastic, especially Zhu Yilong, Huang Zhizhong and Chen Shu.

This movie isn't going to be a life-altering experience but for the genre I found it very enjoyable.

Beautiful Cinematography, Confusing Plot If You Have Not Seen The Series

Positive: Yang Yang and Liu Yifei made a beautiful couple. Who wouldn't want a handsome god like Yang Yang and an immortal fairy like Liu Yifei. Perfect casting! The cinematography was breathtaking, the sceneries and colors were beautiful. Love the sets, the graphics and visuals.

Negative: The ending was confusing, and there are choppy scenes. If you watched this movie first, like I did, before watching the drama, you would be confused. I was very confused.

OST: Beautiful! Love it more than the series! Heart-breaking songs.

After watching the drama, I actually have a higher appreciation of the movie, as I understood the storyline. Now I was able to focus on Yang Yang's and Liu Yifei's characters, and see the passion in their interaction and the emotions in their tragedies. I feel the director did a good job showcasing the mood, hate and love of the characters.

I actually like watching this movie more than the series. LOL. Somehow I have a deeper connection with the movie than the series. Perhaps because the movie focused on the story and passions of Yehua and Bai Qian, while the series had many characters and wasteful scenes that I would rather skip. Plus I am not a fan of Yang Mi, but love Liu Yifei. I like both Mark Zhao and Yang Yang.

My only complaint for this movie is the ending could have been done better. Overall, I have rewatched it many times compared to the series and still feel the emotions and tearful from their love story. Wish the ending was more satisfactory.

I'm not sure what i expected from this movie and i suppose it really doesn't matter because no matter what i expected, it would have been blown away. Lol

Awakened Demon is definitely on my top 10 of 2021. There was nothing i disliked about.... okay, maybe one thing. That it ended. I wish I could see this in show form now. Anything to keep it going a little while longer. Lol

I loved all of the characters... except the douchebags. -_-
Is it me, or is it always the people in "heaven" clans that are ALWAYS the bad guys? They claim to be better, know better, do better.... but even now they call Red Boy a demon and I'm like why?
Because he fights? Everyone (especially males) fight! Lol what the hell. I don't get it. He's never given a reason why they call him that. Just because "he is a demon". Yeah no, that won't cut it for me. Lol and his parents? Okay? He's still his own person and has never given you a reason.
That did bug me a lot but I'm glad it worked out in the end.

Watched it for the ridiculously handsome male lead

I don't understand why this film is receiving mixed reviews. I was wholly absorbed from start to finish and would recommend it to anyone who can stomach excessive violence, lol.

I find that the main complaint of the movie is the pacing, and I guess that just comes down to preference. Both of our leads find themselves living on borrowed time, and so I very much appreciated the downtime because it felt like we could spend a little time with the characters before things would turn into inevitable, bloody chaos.

Overall I think this movie is absolutely worth the watch. I sometimes find myself coming back to watch certain scenes, and the emotions still hit hard!

suspenseful until the end

●This movie was a pretty dark and intense movie. It addresses issues of bullying, suicide, depression, S.Korean filmmakers are masters in creating such dark movies. But don’t take it in another manner, it is not talking about anti-bullying or suicide prevention, it goes ahead with the kid's trauma or more say psychological behavior where they lack care and think of suicide. it was more like aftereffects of an accident that pushed a girl to think of proving her innocence by taking her own life.

●I was surprised to see that it won so many awards because I felt there were some plot holes and loose ends. I really didn’t get why were these bits there.
1. A random student saying she wanted Kyung Min to die.
2. Come back the message in sign language, when it was decrypted it didn’t give any significance, it was just there intensifying the scene because no one understood except the audience.
3. The school girl implicating homeroom teacher.
4. Mother sits in the investigation process and also in statement recording of the witness. That really incorrect.
5. The homeroom teacher's behavior was very bad, he lacked compassion and there is no way to treat students with beatings.

●The movie had an open ending and it depends on the viewer's speculation. I felt like Kyung Min, lacked parental care and might have depression. Or her mother might have done something to her which lead her to take such a step. Or she might have been bullied in school.
●Young Hee's preferences might be one reason she had death thought because we know that society is unacceptable to new things.
●The acting was intense by the lead and being 28-year-old Jeon Yeo been as Young-hee just nailed it. she played well with her expressions without the dialogues. there are many dark dialogues she spoke which kind of gives a heavy blow in the heart.
Seo Young Hwa as Kyoung min's mom seemed like an adult bully who lost her child. and desperately wants her kid to be remembered. she performed finely showing the emotions of the mother.

Nice movie infairness

Umm speaking of chinese period movies, I rarely find nice ones so I can say this movie is top notch. Not toof fast and too slow. Not the usual legend of white snake story . In this case, its the guy who is the snake 🐍. I don't really understand 100% what was going on because You Tube has no English sub but I am somewhat confident that I know what's happening. I don't understand why did the guy fall for her. Anyways i dont care because the guy is so sweet and protective. The female lead is annoying at first. Childish and weak but there is development I think? But still weak. Ugh. 😣
Anyways I thought it was nice bec of the male lead. Not bad trying since you only need more than an hour .

A great story about choosing your own way and doing what you love.

Be forewarned, because this is my first time writing a review. So it may not be great. But I just watched this movie which is about trying out new things. So I figured, why not?
I wanted to watch this movie at first when I saw there were so many familiar actors in this movie. I put it off for later, and now I've finally watched it. And it's great!!!
Story:
The story is about these two childhood friends who are now in university. They did judo their whole lives, but then Bandou Haruki gets injured and takes a break from judo. Even after Bandou recovers from his injury, he hesitates to go back to judo, since he feels he doesn't have talent in this field. Then Kazuma thinks about starting a male cheer team along with Bandou and the story continues from there. The characters try out this new thing that they thought were only for women and eventually start liking it. The characters initially have a selfish motive to do it but they understand the beauty of cheerleading. They grow with their team, learn to trust each other, and become the cheer team "Breakers".
The story is probably(I'm not sure, this is one of the only time I watched something sports-themed)a bit common, like other sports themed movies about coming of age. But I think that they executed it pretty well. I loved the character development of each character and how they overcame their mental struggles and traumas. The sibling relationship didn't get much focus, but that didn't take anything away from this movie.
And whether you're familiar with cheerleading or not, this movie gives a pretty good understanding of how awesome cheerleading is.

Acting/Cast:
This has a great ensemble cast so, I don't have much to say except that the acting was great. I want to say that Masaki Nakao's acting was more impactful to me than Ryusei Yokohama. Because Kazuma's character had more emotional moments than Bandou's. So I liked Masaki's acting slightly better. And everyone more or less portrayed the characters pretty well. Plus, I have to give a shout-out to the practice and training the actors had to do for this movie. All of this physical work was definitely not easy.

Music:
I didn't notice the music in this movie too much. But whatever background music I heard was mostly well-suited to the scene. And the ending song was awesome!!! So music is 8/10.

Rewatch Value:
I probably won't rewatch this movie anytime soon, but it's definitely worth rewatching someday. There were plenty of emotional moments in this movie, which I would like to revisit someday.

Overall:
Great movie, great cast, great music and great characters! There wasn't one moment where I didn't like something in particular, or had a flaw to pick. This movie tells the story of a team learning new things, learning to stand up for themselves, choosing what they think is best for them, growing together and getting to know each other better. Definitely a recommended movie.

Strange kind relationship

This does have a sci-fi feel to it. As unrealistic as it is that an phone app can summon a hologram (or a virtual person anyway). It also is part psychological thriller. I really liked that it showed a long-term relationship of two guys, even though it is going through tough times.

ACTING/CAST: Absolutely superb. I was amazed at how well these actors conveyed the emotions of their characters. They weren't bashful during the "making out" scenes either. The actor playing Lin has some very pretty eyes.

Basically this movie turned the idea of dating apps and took it one step further. What if there were virtual companions that were customized to your exact desires. The skin ship is out of this world, brilliantly shot. Lin was adorable when he came but as the story progressed you start wondering what's really going on. This movie talks about something extremely common in most relationships. You never know if you are truly in love or if you're confusing it with some other feeling. About the rut every relationship goes through and how people grapple with confused feelings of attachment and simultaneous resentment. Not too sad, but it is emotional.

Overall : A happy ending, but a rollcoster.

What a fun ride

Oh how great was that. I agree with the other reviewers who felt a series was definitely needed. The ending was crying out to be continued so fingers crossed that someone who makes these decisions realises what a fun movie this was. Actually I feel that they were just getting into their characters in the second half and that the possibilities would be endless for a cast who clearly understood the importance of timing so well. Loved every bit of this and I was genuinely sorry when it ended. Please, please please give us more. It'd be well worth it.

A good watch

Story
Compared to the other versions, the plotline were pretty much the same. This version have a more sentimental feel to it. And even though i knew the ending, i still cried.

Acting/Cast
The acting was good. Casting wasn't really spot on like other versions, but still good.

Music
The music were nostalgic. My favorite was 很高兴认识你 by Twins

Overall
It's a touching story about the friendship of 7 different girls. If you like retro setting, i think you'll enjoy this.
Cinematography was really good and really pleasing to see. I really liked their outfits on the 90's setting.

Spooky!

A good way to pass the time if you're looking to watch something creepy. I watched this alone at night and I found it spooky with a good tense atmosphere! I honestly I kept looking around the edges of their cams for ghosts lol. The found-footage style suited this movie well, as it obviously made it seem more real. We got a good combo of go-pro, camcorder, and static cams, and even at times a drone. Ha Joon being in the tent directing and replaying footage/comparing shots for the viewers was great too because 1 looks real 2 let's me take another look. I'm one who tends to like terror over horror (atmosphere/fear over what you don't see vs scares thrust right in your face [although there were definitely some of those too in the 2nd half]) so this suited my tastes.

As for the acting, I thought it was top notch! You could totally believe these are just a bunch of young adults who are in it for the thrills and have no idea just how in over their heads they're going to be. They felt real. They also totally weren't taking it seriously at the start, so you might not be interested at that part, but I think it's necessary to build that atmosphere and establish the characters. Then once we're past that things slowly started taking a turn ahh.

I think the only thing I was a bit let down about was that there was no kind of lore drop. Probably a big ask since this is "live" and shit started getting real for them so it's not like they're going to have the time or presence of mind to investigate ~the truth~ behind it all, but I wanted to know more about why things were fucky! So don't expect some great investigative found-footage film, because they don't really get into that much they just make speculations based on the rumors around Gonjiam.

Anyways, moral of the story: don't play around with spirits for views!

The story itself seems like a good idea and had been done correctly could have been a creepy story. But ... this is probably one of the most stupid movies I have watched lately and honestly doesn't make any sense.

They threw in a lot of things that could have been cut to actually explain why and how all this happened in the first place. I felt absolutely zero connection to any characters. This movie is over a hour and I couldn't even start to tell you any character's name. The two best friends seem close, that's about all I can make sense of.

The "horror" part of the move is laughable. the "stabbing" sounds literally just sound like someone getting hit with a sack of quarters. There were no twists. No turns. No build up. What has this been doing for a hour? X_X I couldn't tell ya. Nothing makes sense.

I get it's supposed to be "urban legend" kinda thing, but even those have a story. Those have a REASON. Those come to you, show up, or you go to them because of some *set* reason (I mean, unless you're the slit mouth woman, then I can see how you just stumble upon her, but even then, there is a story/her story) so you see what I'm getting at, hopefully.

And y'all I'm sorry but the running.... the running had my cry laughing. It reminds me of vines I used to watch of people being dumb for fun. Lol I'm sorry. This just wasn't my thing. This wasn't horror to me.

I wish and I hope someone redoes this movie though because the story itself does have potential to be something if done right.

This movie kept me so stressed. Lol it was like a yo-yo: "does he know? He knows. Wait he doesn't know. He knows. How does he not know?" It was never ending. Lol

But on the real, this was such a cute and fluffy watch. I know it will probably weird a lot of people out but eh to each their own. Even if you removed the "step siblings" situation, it's still a cute fluffy show.

Gotta say though, this is the first time I've watched a movie like this so it was definitely unique.

I just hated how he treated his sister. Like i know he says he was angry but why take it out on her? I legit thought he hated her guts so it always broke my heart seeing how he would just turn sour in a instant from Mina to her. I guess i get it but i also don't? I'm glad they worked it all out and got that special supportive ending.

Wasn't a fan of the SML, I liked him up till he said it was "disgusting" and really hated him when he did what he did in the hotel. Okay, you were making a point and testing something..... but you didn't have to be rapey about it. That was so gross and made my skin crawl. The fact you even went through that even if it was a "test" shows how nuts you are, bro. No, just no.

I didn't expected to love this movie as much as I did. Lol I know I cracked a lot of "I'm stuck, step bro" jokes but I really did find this movie cute.
