12? Doesnt even deserve a 5. One of the worst of the year

Sad and crappy doesnt even sum up how i feel about this drama. ANd they have the gulls to tease us of a second season?

Putting Ma Dong Seok Park Hyung Sik and Seo in Guk in one drama got me so excited although right at the beginning i had reservations why Seo in Guk wasnt used enough in the trailers to sell the drama. Netizens say give the series a chance, and why not? The show promises an epic battle between angels and demons - and who isnt intrigued to see Park Hyung Sik in a differnet role. Sadly the show didnt deliver at all and was such a disappointment and my fears were realized as SIG is actually just a second fiddle and PHS wasnt actually the villain.

I dont even know how much the actors got paid for them to accept working in this trash. Didnt they (or dont they pay people to) read the script before signing up? They should be firing their agents and managers.

BAD WIGS. BAD COSTUMES. BAD MAKEUP. BAD ACTING. BAD PRODUCTION DESIGN. BAD SPECIAL EFFECTS. BAD SCRIPT. BAD STORYTELLING. BAD FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY. if someone confesses that this show is made entirely by bad AI, i would totally believe it.

There was literally NO ONE among the characters to love and get attached to.

And to the cinematographers and editors and special effects people out there please take note that this kind of weird ugly colorgrading and filters and smoke cloudy effects are not fooling anyone and its not hiding how poor the visual effects are. they just make it worse.

Is there anything good? Nothing.

This is the lowest grade Ive ever given a Korean drama. It is that bad. Stay away like your life depends on it.

Striking Cinematography, Perfect Leads, and Powerful OST

Sometimes I just want an story with an elegant vampire, don't you? Even better if it was set in the Republican Era—dramas I've just recently discovered. I love so much the look of them: the clothes, hair, cities, interiors, and cars (oh, those cars!). Such style and class.

I can't say enough good things about the FL. She was charming, sweet, brave, and such a nice change from the silly, ineffectual girls that are often portrayed in Chinese dramas. The actress did an amazing job depicting an abused girl slowly being transformed by love. The ML was mesmerizing as he transformed from cold and aloof to cautiously looking forward to a future filled with happiness.

There were some cheesy moments and exasperation that some people refused to die and stay dead, but I overlooked all that because the main leads were so charismatic, the visuals were stunning, and the music was fitting. It's worth watching just for those alone.

The drama was hampered by censorship. The word "vampire" was never uttered, no fangs were shown, and no direct feeding was depicted. The romance was greatly hampered. I realize there was a theoretical age gap of 82 years between the two leads, which could be problematic for some. It didn't bother me and I was rooting for them (they both deserved love and happiness in their lives and were optimally suited to one another due to their damaged psyches), but the censors downplayed the romance due to the age difference. Even so, the chemistry was deep and strong. I'm left to wonder how amazing this drama could have been without censorship.

The last episode was rushed and unsatisfying. I wasn't happy with the ending, but it made sense, and I've made peace with it. I wasn't the only one displeased: after the drama ended, there was so much vitriol directed at the production team that the director had to disable his Weibo, and the screenwriter posted a happy ending epilogue on hers to placate the viewers.

An extra half star was awarded for beautiful images and lovely music.

Wholesome Fluff with Heartfelt Depth

This drama really surprised me in the best way. From the very first episode, I was hooked by the raw emotions—the lead’s struggle with confessing his feelings and coming to terms with being gay was so powerful and relatable. When his love was reciprocated, it truly felt like the “miracle” the story describes.

The show deals with identity, insecurity, and family issues, but it does so in a light and heartwarming way. I like how we can see the main characters grow and resolve their issues maturely. The side characters are also kind and uplifting. Instead of heavy drama, the overall tone stays fluffy, cute, and healing.

The acting was solid, especially in the emotional scenes, and the main couple had adorable chemistry. Even though the kisses weren’t very passionate, they fit the tone of the story—I found myself grinning at their sweet moments. As someone raised conservatively, the way their intimacy was handled felt wholesome, almost like first-timers learning how to ride a bike—innocent yet deeply meaningful. And while I also enjoy steamier kiss/sex scenes in other BLs, this gentler approach felt refreshing and relatable in its own way. The music and cinematography complemented this softness beautifully, adding to the gentle atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a BL that’s wholesome, light, and full of warmth, this is definitely worth watching. It’s the kind of drama that makes you feel comforted and hopeful. It's the kind of romance I would like to have in real life.

Twisty Face Swap

For a miniseries, this is really one of the good ones with little plotholes and superb acting. It doesnt look cheap either. It’s the first series of Ryan Cheng that i saw he finally kept his shirt on, but so far, he hasnt managed to get away from the general role. Guess he just has the face and physique of a formidable man of the battlefield, though on this one, the setting is mainly in his mansion instead of the battlefield. There’s only 10% action, and the rest is drama. Okay by me even though im an action fan, because the storyline is interesting and solid.

Lost You Forever? Congrats, you really did!

This came highly recommended, with glowing reviews and sky-high ratings that practically dared me to dive in. The premise promised a rich blend of wuxia, reverse harem intrigue, and a gender-bending lead—what’s not to love? But five episodes in, I was already eyeing the exit. My thumb hovered over the “drop” button like it was a lifeline. I told myself to be patient, that maybe the magic would kick in soon. Instead, my fast-forward thumb got more of a workout than my attention span, and by the halfway mark, I finally threw in the towel.

To be fair, the production is gorgeous. The cinematography is lush, the costumes are exquisite, and the acting is solid across the board. Even Yang Zi—who’s never been my favorite—won me over with her performance as the male physician Xiao Liu. She brought charm and grit to the role, and for a moment, I thought maybe this drama would redeem itself. But charisma alone couldn’t justify wallowing through a plot that felt like it was wandering in circles. This story could’ve easily been told in half the runtime.

Then came the kicker: there’s a second season. Because apparently 39 episodes weren’t enough to wrap up this slow-motion saga. That revelation didn’t feel like a cliffhanger—it felt like a trap. My decision to quit felt less like giving up and more like reclaiming my time.

Watching this drama is like driving down an endless highway while Bob Ross narrates a painting tutorial. Undeniably pretty, but not exactly riveting. There’s potential in its tropes, but with pacing this glacial, I couldn’t bring myself to keep going. Beautiful, yes—but forever is a long time to be this bored.

OMA!!!They ruined my gems Park Hyung Sik & Seo In Guk.
Did they ever review the script?I don't think so!
Or maybe they sign this 15 years ago! Otherwise, i don't think anyother possibility.😂Why they ruined my mood.
Something happening, i really can't remember when i give 10 or 9 for KDramas.
Even toh they lost their power bt not their minds. Why didn’t they use it?and their money? What will they use it for?
In this drama only one person doing some job bt they killed him.Bcz he is human so he can't came back life!Nice logic.😂
They know why they living for, their purposes etc. They can't run away bcz of their duty. Then never prepare themself. They just living.
Mir should be more carefull.Bcz,she knew the future.Bt didn't tell anyone or encourage them to train more.
Also i didn't understand Ogwi character either.🤦‍♀️
When something happened that grandma, all run together there.😂bt when they knew that mir needed protection more.
And also leaving the hellmouth without any guard.
And that cliffhanger? Ohh!plz i don't want to watch this s### again.
And then visual, editing i can't talk that. 😪🤣

A Wholesome Satisfaction throughout 1 Hour

I know U guyss already know through the Synopsis that it'll be a School-Bullying Theme.Yes,There Are bullying. Everytime you watch them Your Blood will Boil to the Highest Peak. But Trust Me it was needed for the satisfaction you'll feel in the later Episode. If you can't feel the Pain of Victim or can't Hate the Villain enough the satisfaction will be dull for you.

Both The actors Did really well in their part.Shin hae sun is always my favourite actress, on the other hand Hating a handsome man like Lee Jun young is really hard. But they Both really nailed their character. Other side characters r good too.How i wish it would be a Drama rather than a Movie.why?? because i feel chemistry.. hihihi 🤩😍

Perfect Combination Of Short Tempered And Anger Issue

Ya’ll probably gonna hate me for this, but I’m short-tempered — and that’s exactly why I dropped this one. The acting was good, not gonna lie, but the character they gave the FL? Nah. By episode four I already hated the character (not the actor). That trope they used made me roll my eyes so hard my brain short-circuited.

I was literally yelling at the screen for the FL to kill the demon. She had so many chances and did nothing but talk. I get the hostage situation, but come on — when she finally gets the sword, I would’ve just slashed the head off. Maybe the demon has a tragic backstory or a power-control issue like ZY in Fangs of Fortune, and maybe it gets better mid-series… but I’m not sticking around to find out.

Short patience and anger issues: my sworn enemies. That’s all. No hate to the fans — just not my vibe.

More a very good teaser that a real story.

Eight episodes of each 10 minutes, so we get some real short series here. Sometimes I felt it was more long trailers of an actual series, like skipping so much content, which is "between the lines" of what we do not see. Or think of it is an 80 minutes long good music video.

I am not sure why this story with potential was so short and skipped so many possible moments. What was there is good, even thought the BL element was until the end more "in the imagination"; not in a bad way, but still kinda unmanifested. The highlight of the series was aptly to the theme and title the really beautiful music, which truly stood out.

Still, it was a good appetizer for a full show that this wasn't. But what it was were 80 good minutes to spend.

As such

SISTERHOOD, MYSTERY, AND FEMINISM SHINE IN LITTLE WOMEN

This drama reminded me a lot of the hollywood film movie Little Women, especially with its themes of feminism and how women try to stand and strong in a tough world. It has the same focus on sisterhood but told in a darker, more thriller-like way.

The three sisters are written with clear differences, and I found myself understanding each of their behaviors and choices. In Joo’s vulnerability and longing for a better life, In Kyung’s stubborn yet idealistic pursuit of justice, and In Hye’s quiet independence all felt distinct but interconnected. Their contrasting personalities and imperfections made the drama more complex, and realistic.

I also really liked the chemistry between In Joo and Do Il. Their connection was subtle but strong, and I appreciated that their relationship was left open ended, it gave a sense of possibility without forcing a conclusion.

The blue orchid subplot was another highlight for me. It added mystery and symbolism that blended well with the overall narrative, making the story more intriguing. On top of that, the cinematography was beautiful and the ost/score/soundtracks are so good that I immediately listened them all after watching.

The story can feel a little messy at times, with multiple twists that sometimes overlap more than they should. But even with that, it is still worth watching for its themes, performances, and artistic execution.

Overall, Little Women is not perfect, but it’s a captivating drama that reimagines sisterhood, ambition, and survival in a unique way.

Great Joseon-era drama filled with hot men

First of all, this was my first, full Joseon-era drama I have ever watched so I was really impressed with the production quality, costumes, and the beautiful sets that were chosen.
The storyline was so well-thought of, from beginning to end with so much drama and intrigue, as well as romance, comic relief and sadness!
The cast was star-studded and there were so many hot male characters I didn’t know where to look at! 😂😂😂

The characters/actors:
I love Park Eun-bin and she naturally did not disappoint in this role either. The way she played the King was remarkable! She proved once again that she can take any role. When I first saw the adult version of the King played by Eun-bin I was like “Oh wow she is sooo handsome!!” 🤯
As the character of the King, she initially displayed her cold, heartless side but slowly softened up throughout the drama. Sometimes it was so sad to watch her long for her femininity whenever they went to the market places 🥺

Then there was Ro Woon!!! I now understand the hype around him! This was my first drama of his I watched and omg I have definitely been missing out!!! He is so handsome like how!!???? as if an artist drew him! I am seriously obsessed with the way his face looks like 😍😍😍 also he looks a bit like Taehyung from BTS.
As for his character, Jung Ji-un he was such a cuutie!!!!! From his first appearance on he was interesting! His love for the king and his friendship with Jaeun and the other scribes and teachers was very funny to watch. I loved to see how he was behaving when he realized he had feelings for the king without knowing that he was a woman 😂 I just loved the fact that he was the male lead.

Next, Lord Jaeun aka Hyun was my favorite character of the series 😍 He was so kind and smart and respectful to everyone, quite literally my dream man. It was a bit strange tbh that he was in love with his cousin 😅 But he realized that his feelings were wrong and acted accordingly which was again very remarkable. Also, I did not expect him to become the next King at the end of the drama. Actually, I thought he was gonna die while protecting the King or sth but I am really happy that he survived ☺️ I just wish he had a girl fall in love with him because he is HELLA FINE!!!! 😍😍😍

And of course, two of the most important characters, Court Lady Kim and Eunuch Bok-Dong were the pillars of this drama and the female lead. They might seem like mascot characters at the beginning but they actually had very crucial roles. Court Lady Kim was like her mother she never really had and the Eunuch was a replacement of her dead twin brother 🥺 They both gave her the warmth and support of a family she never experienced since her own family was just cold and distant all the time.

I really grew to like Kim Ga-on as well. At the beginning he was very misleading and we all thought he was a bad guy. But I love how he turned out to be the most loyal and skilled warrior to the King. And his little love story with Ju-Un’s friend was soooo cuteeee omg!!!! 🥹🥹🥹

One of the villains with a redemption arc was Commander Jung aka Ji-Un’s ruthless father. He was the roundest character of this drama! His character development and decisions were very unexpected. He reminded me of Snape in a way. Up until the moment Commander Yoon died partly because of him he was this evil commander doing all the dirty work for Lord Sangheon. But after his old friend’s death he started to change. His last scene with Ji-Un were sooo heartbreaking, I cried so much 😭😭😭 I an glad he got a redemption arc because he was a very skilled warrior that benefited the King greatly in the end (although they lost the battle).

And last but not least, Seo-un and Ha-Gyeong were quite interesting too. I loved how Seo-Un realized that Ji-Un had feelings for anothet and just how she could not marry the King for these reasons, she understood exactly how Ji-Un must be feeling. It was still very sad to see her suffer and hurt at the end and she cane to become one of my favorite characters as well.
Ha-Gyeong was so cute when she first fell in love with the King not knowing that she just fell in love with a woman 😂She was a little bit naive and clumsy at times but I really loved her character. I kind a wish she had more screentime or actually I was hoping she would fall in love with Jaeun but that did not happen sadly.

These were my favorite characters. Of course Lord Sangheon and the rest of the royal family were important too but I didnt really care about them. Sangheon was just an evil, manipulative old man who should have died earlier! I wish Ga-on had assassinated him earlier!
And then the Late King aka the father of the female lead was a character I don’t have much to say about. Him and the Queen Dowager were quite insignificant for me tbh. And then the most annoying characters were Lord Changun aka the uncle and Lord Wonsan aka Jaeun’s evil brother. I HATED them!!! especially the uncle!!!! They were probably even worse than Lord Sangheon.

As you noticed the characters in this drama were amazing! No character was abundant or useless. Everyone had a purpose even the very small minor characters. Loved how they were utilized to strengthen and keep the storyline moving.

Some pros and cons:

Pros:
1. Characters
2. Storyline
3. Soundtrack
4. A lot of handsome men
5. Sword fight choreos were on point
6. The ending was beautiful

Cons:
1. The episodes with the Ming guy were a bit strange and I still don’t know how that fit into the general plot.
2. Some things were left uncleared in the end for example what happened to Lord Wonsan, or whether Jaeun found out that the King was the twin and how they ended up switching their lives.

Not that many cons at all and very small minor ones.

Definitely a 10/10 watch for me!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Girls, be ambitious!

The fact that this series is currently rated 5.2 with just one episode out is insane!! Ignore the rating, watch and form your own opinion.

For me this was an excellent first episode it introduced the cast brilliantly!! Kim Dami as Young rye is ridiculously adorable, Shin Yeeun as Seo Jong Hui is so admirable, the ultimate girl crush!! and although the casting Heo Nam Jun at 32 years old as a Highschooler is weird, I liked him very much.

The story seems to be leaning towards a love triangle which is not the best, I don't usually mind it much and I hope it doesn't become the centre of it all.

Coming back after watching the second episode I'm loving the series even more a d I'm so happy to see the rating rise a bit although it should be at least at an 8. I love how the friendship between the girls is developing and I hope that it doesn't get ruined by a stupid love triangle.

.

This series turned out to be such an interesting watch. The idea of invisible lines connecting people felt fresh and kept me curious about what was really happening. It mixed mystery with a touch of social commentary, and most of the episodes kept a nice tension without feeling heavy.

The ending was a bit strange, but it also made sense, those lines needed a creator, and of course that creator wasn’t going to be an ordinary human. It felt unexpected at first, but the more I thought about it, the more it fit the story.

Turning a masterpiece into mediocrity

Kaibutsu is guilty of the most egregious sin a remake could commit, it's bad but not bad enough for a hate watch. It's simply a mediocre crime drama, that uses dry storytelling to mask the way it relies on sensationalism. It's dime a dozen in the world of J-drama mysteries.

It's too sad to list all the wonderful qualities of the outstanding original K-drama Goemul/Beyond Evil that weren't utilised in Kaibutsu so let's just focus on the positives. Yasuda Ken creates instantly likeable male lead who is easy to root for; he isn't overacting at all, it's just that the male lead is one of the two characters allowed to emote in the drama (otherwise we might forget that we are watching a Gritty Crime TV™). The other emoting character (Tadokoro, not the second male lead) is charming as well. The OST is really well-made, and the production design is fun if your watched the original (J-dramas and K-dramas portray creepy basements very differently). It has to be said that Kaibutsu does realistic costuming much better, as in unkempt characters do have unwashed hair and ragged clothes unlike Beyond Evil where "unkempt-coding" is used instead.

Sometimes the story is so strong, it shines even through a bad retelling. That's why the episodes of Kaibutsu focused on the plot reveals still manage to be gripping and compelling. But the original is so much more than a who-dun-it with a couple of shocking twists, existence of Kaibutsu all but boggles the mind.
