My way of watching dramas is to look for dramas and films in which a particular actor has starred...
...so here I am watching a second drama starring actor Liu Yu Ning. The first drama I saw with him was "The Prisoner of Beauty", a very beautiful story. I wrote about it as well. How I came to that drama, however, was by chance and I chose the series not for the show, but for the high rating on the MDL.I wouldn't say that this series is the type of drama I like to watch, but the characters, their personalities, the unity and strength that this unity gives, really captivated me.
Visually, everything is superlative, as we are used to from Chinese productions. The action...a little too much for me, but within these events, love, trust, and attachment between the two main characters also blossomed. Yes, the love story alone has kept me watching this series so far, and I will definitely watch it to the end.
What started as "advice" from a respected person ended up awakening more "engines" than if it were a simple attraction between the female and male characters. This fact in itself was very attractive to watch, how an absurd request from the female character shaped a deep love and appreciation in the male character's heart, in which he not only agreed to fulfill the request (he was hard to convince, but the thought haunted him from the beginning), but also gave value and importance to her future. (I don't recommend trying this in real life 😏)
I'm about halfway through the drama now, so I'm very curious to see what awaits me in the second half.
Edit: I finished the series and here is my conclusion: they could have stopped the story earlier and not had the ending that it did. Honestly, I didn't really like the direction they took the movie in the last 10 or so episodes. It's like they killed all the beautiful stories and focused on wars.
I think the high rating is due to the first half of the series. My rating for this series is closer to reality.😅

Another tortuous drama to FL
I watched this when i was on Huang Yunyun marathon drama last year and i don't recommend this despite FL and Child actor great acting in here. Jin Jiayu acts naturally as scumbag. This plot is generic is about FL who wants save the seriously injured ML, was forced to leave and raise their child alone. Seven years later, their child has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. FL seeks out ML, wanting to have a second child to save the child, but the ML harbors resentment because he mistakenly believes FL abandoned him seven years ago.
There is not good thing and character development on ML and the plot hole he supposed to be disabled but somehow he can walk freely and suddenly he is on his wheelchair again. FL was too weak and she falls into damsel in distress again.
Avoid this.

Senza infamia e senza gloria.
Was this review helpful to you?
I personally enjoyed it.
What a wonderful journey this drama was. I will definitely rewatch it. I fell in love with the character played by Liu Yu Ning in this drama. He delivered an exceptional performance, which is why I will continue to watch other dramas with him. This drama brought me a dose of enthusiasm for Chinese dramas. Until now I was a big fan of K-dramas, but after watching some very successful Chinese dramas recently, I've switched to C-dramas (somewhat forced by circumstances, but I don't regret it).
I will not express my opinion on the drama itself, because the love story between the two main characters, their characters and personalities, captivated me until the very end.
The main female character with her personality mixed between sanguine and melancholic is a solid force that cannot be easily overcome. Her gentleness, determination, capability but also beauty are the characteristics that make the main male character not remain indifferent.
Yes, her beauty impressed him from the first moment, but all the "components" of her personality made him see more than he wanted to see, forgive more than he could ever have imagined forgiving, and last but not least, to love someone he never thought he would love so deeply.
Her goal was very clear from the beginning, but not for the viewer. The beginning was fabulous. I didn't even realize what the female character's purpose was in taking everything from her cousin, including the man she was supposed to marry.
I believe that this kind of romance, which takes place between the two main characters and is characterized by tension, skepticism and denial, simply cannot fail.
When they realized that they both shared a common goal, namely the people and their protection, trust between them began to be built stone by stone.
Wei Shao is a tough, brave, and loyal man with a heart for people, but certainly not the gentle, sensitive type who reads between the lines. It's quite amusing to see him appear shy or misinterpret his wife's signals. Liu Yu Ning's imposing stature also contributes to Wei Shao's formidable presence - a brave general leading his troop of soldiers.
All in all, it caught my attention, and Liu Yu Ning has brought to life a very interesting character that I personally liked very much.
I also liked some of the supporting characters, but surprisingly, I really liked Xuan Lu's portrayal of the character Su E Huang / Lady Yu Lou.
It's not a perfect drama, but it's a drama you will inevitably fall in love with. It makes your heart skip a beat, puts a smile on your face, and makes you want to watch the next episode.

Was this review helpful to you?
Was this review helpful to you?

Hey, I was entertained
DisclaimerWhat I am writing here are my views and thoughts about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a higher or lower score and why it is better/worse than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly respect that.
So, I decided to give this series a watch to be used in the MDL Watch Challenge. But I must admit it- I was entertained. I do not like series that have a lot of episodes. I mean, the furthest for me is like 12 or 14. After that, I just push through them (unless they are good) to just complete them. But this one- woowee- hooked, line and sinker from the get go.
Yes, I was a bit dissappointed with part of the ending (but I saw reason for that in the comments section- it was due to one of the ML's), but the other part I was glad because they got thier just desserts. This series was entertaining while it did have a few flaws. So, i am glad that i gave it a chance as these actors did something that I never knew was possible- they kept my attention for the enitre 52 episodes.

Get a grip Khun Thee!
Fatemi spiegare, è Not Me? Was this review helpful to you?

Too much cut on this drama.
I remember i watched this drama around two years ago and for the best adaptation goes to Bai Yan and Liu Qing one. This version has some cuts. Many supporting characters are missing. There's no faked death; FL just went abroad for two years for medical treatment. FL sends the ML to prison and gives birth to their child alone. Six years later, FL working hard to save her child, meets the successful ML again, beginning a cycle of revenge, atonement, turmoil, and compensation.
The couple shows bittersweet feeling that missed on Bai Yan and Liu Qing version and Ma Qianhuan acting in this drama is kinda forced somehow but Huang Yunyun styling and acting was still good.
Still decent watch but if you hate violence into FL you better skip this.

Raw reality of being a human... a drama that understands adulthood
A heartfelt experience that stays with you long after it ends.A slow and emotional drama that feels very real and deeply human. It is not an easy watch but it is an honest one. The story focuses on loneliness grief and the quiet weight of adult life. The characters feel like real people who are tired confused and trying their best to survive while still caring for others. The drama uses silence expressions and small moments to show emotions instead of big dramatic scenes. Many parts stay with you long after the episode ends. There is pain but also warmth hope and gentle humor that feels natural. Watching this felt like a reset after many light and fluffy shows I had watched in recent time. It reminds you that life is unfair at times but people still find ways to move forward together. This drama will speak more to those who have experienced loss responsibility or emotional exhaustion. It is beautifully acted thoughtfully written and emotionally rich.

Was this review helpful to you?
Absolutely amazing
This was an absolutely incredible series, everything about it was just beautiful! Definitely worth the watch. The finale episode was so sad but still really well done and felt like everything was wrapped up nicely. Both Billy and Babe's acting was next level, the traditional aspects felt really well done and respectful, beautifully shot camera work and a sweet little epiloge at the end a very nice touch. I cant stop think abiut this series

Quite underwhelmed Han Yutong drama.
I watched this last year and it was Han Yutong longest drama i try to digest since there is no chemistry between her and Zhao Guanyu. The script isn't particularly innovative. FL saves her income to support her boyfriend's PhD studies, and he promises to marry her after graduation. When he graduates and their child is older, FL plans to register the child's birth, only to discover he has a pregnant girlfriend and overhears a conversation between him and his future mother-in-law. It turns out that years ago, her boyfriend got her drunk and sold her to someone else for money, but she accidentally went to the wrong room and had sex with a stranger.
She meets the child's biological father—the male lead—at the Civil Affairs Bureau and they are getting flash marriage .
ML is stubborn and narcissistic, but reliable in crucial moments, fiercely protecting FL. After getting to know the FL's daughter, he's also very good to the child. His only moment of lapse in judgment is when a female supporting character impersonates him. In the end, the ML discovers that his "white moonlight" is the FL, and the family of three has a happy ending.
Still decent to watch but the pace was really slow.

One of the best forensics kdrama
More like this, please. Waiting for season 3. Very thrillig cases was solved in this season, too. Despite the accent on prosecutors corruption, the medical subjects was very interesting. Noh Min Woo în double personality role (Dr. K/ Dr. Jang ) was the most outstanding character of the second season. I hope that the new law firm founded by the ex - prosecutor Do together with Dr. K/ Dr. Jang will start season 3 with more interesting cases , helped by Genius Dr. Baek and prosecutor Eun will ne able to prove the corruption of her higher-ups.Was this review helpful to you?
My Page in the 90s – A Delightful, Retro Rom-Com Escape
My Page in the 90s is one of those C-dramas that sneaks up on you and suddenly becomes your comfort watch.
The story follows a modern-day live streamer who gets transported into the world of a novel she constantly criticized. But this isn’t just a random isekai situation she’s trapped in a game-like system where she’s given quests, earns rewards, and is told her ultimate mission: win over the male lead if she wants to leave. It sounds chaotic… and it is in the best way possible.
What truly makes this drama shine is its comedy. I haven’t laughed this much at a C-drama in a long time. Every character has impeccable comic timing, and the humor actually landsinstead of feeling forced or cringe. It’s witty, self-aware, and genuinely fun.
Then there’s the 90s setting, which I absolutely adore. The pagers. The landline phones. The maps instead of GPS. Dating rumors in magazines. Vintage CEO suits and ties. Bold polka dots and loud colors. The hairstyles. The entire aesthetic is nostalgic, cozy, and ridiculously charming. I’m completely absorbed in this world.
Lin huan er, the female lead, is a standout. She’s smart, witty, chaotic, and genuinely funny but not a pushover. I love how she uses her modern-day mindset to navigate this old-school world. What really impressed me is how her approach to “winning over the male lead” evolves: she goes from impulsive and reckless to strategic and thoughtful. That growth makes her feel mature and layered rather than exhausting or one-note.
Gao Haiming, the male lead, is everything I didn’t know I needed from a CEO character. Yes, he’s dashing. Yes, the vintage suits, ties, and hairstyles are doing things for me. But more importantly, he’s calculating, intelligent, driven, and emotionally guarded with actual depth and baggage. And for once… he really *works*. Like, he actually goes to his office and does his job. Chen Xingxu is genuinely bringing back the charm of CEO leads.
And their chemistry? Perfect.
They have this “you use me, I use you, and we both know it” dynamic that’s so refreshing. There’s mutual awareness, tension, and unspoken rules. They don’t cross emotional lines too early, and that slow, strategic dance between them is exactly my kind of romance...their interactions made me giddy and thats how I know iam sold on chemistry...loved every minute of these two.
My Page in the 90s has been a delightful watch simple to follow, genuinely funny, retro, cute, and full of charm. It doesn’t try too hard to be deep or dramatic, and that’s exactly why it works. It knows what it is and fully commits to being an entertaining, feel-good rom-com with a clever twist.
If you’re looking for something light, nostalgic, and ridiculously fun with great chemistry and lovable leads… this one is 100% worth your time.
Conclusively;
"Sometimes, a drama doesn't need to be grand; it just needs to be simple yet entertaining, and this show is proof of that. My rewatch value for this is incredibly high, and I know I'll definitely watch it again. The chemistry between the leads was a major highlight, making me giddy throughout. And the comic timing of the various characters? Chef's kiss! The 90s setting added a wonderful layer of nostalgia. Give this show a chance; it will sneak up on you when you least expect it.
