Really cute and fluffy

This is a great BL about two high schoolers that become friends and fall in love, in a less toxic version of Boys Over Flowers. It might sound simple as a premise, but this Japanese BL conveys those emotions of first love and yearning through Kiyoi and Watarai very well. The supporting group of friends are good ans characters and a plus for this series. The only drawback for me is that the plot can be quite simplistic and not new compared to what’s already out there, so it kinda feels dated, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Overall, this is an easy watch when you’re in the mood for something fluffy with a touch of first-love nostalgia.

Weird premise and pretty cringy.

Where do I start….Okay I’m all for a good childhood sweetheart trope but these two literally grew up together. He took care of her as a baby (probably even changed a few diapers) so it’s pretty weird to me. It would’ve been better if the writers made it into a slow burn romance with him realizing later on that he loves her romantically. But noooo, this guy was yearning for her all these years (he even carries a keychain around stating that he’s yearning for her). It just doesn’t make sense.

Acting wise I think the ML is giving his all. He’s got the smolder down and it’s electrifying but Esther Yu - WHYYY. I know a lot of people think her baby voice and childlike expressions are cute but to me, it seems like she’s trying too hard to keep up with this facade. I think someone like Sun Zhenni or Lu Yu Xiao who are naturally cute would’ve been a better choice to cast.

I am on episode 16 and trying to hold on because of the ML and Mike Angelo (he’s fun to watch).

Also, why is the ML always so sweaty while everyone looks cool as a cucumber??

THE MORE CHAOTIC THINGS OR CHOICES ARE THE MORE IT IS PURSUED

Quick review ! For such a long time that I have not watched a BL and started with this, It was a blast already ! It was really good ! I Like it how dark it was , I like it how chaotic it was and sexy may I emphasize this ! Really really sexy and I like it how Jeong Hwan acted, he was really good in acting and the Jeong In . Great great acting ! About Il Jo, I don't know if it was just me but there are times that his acting specially during the time when Jeong Hwan was trying to take him back like, Jeong Hwan was already all for it his emotions and the way he delivered his lines he was already all on that scene but in some ways I was not that convinced with how Il Jo reacted , but don't mind that they are all great its not even a big deal because I just felt everything, every single emotions
The Story and bruhh ! The plot twist ?! How are you still alive with this ? I Have already accepted that their romance was a cousin romance until Jeong Hwan found out that he is not even related to Il Jo ! So yeah did not saw that coming.
And their last minute romance it was all really really good, just enough and just right at the timing of the story.
Oh another, Just a bit annoyed to Il Jo when he was pushing Jeong Hwan back like common bruhh you wished for this right ? But yeah since I was this affected , that means it was really a good one. I want to also commend the character of Su hyo , the Cafe Manager , I mean like maybe I should just take him for myself since he was not the chosen one here, he was such a green flag ! I am hoping to see more of his work as a lead
All the characters did great ! I liked everyone I just like them all. The last part was a bit rushed but it was really a great ending. What I realized in this drama was why is it that the more chaotic things or choices are , the more we want to pursue them ? Right ?
Yeah so much for it, If you have not watched this, you should not miss this one highly recommended !

A rollercoaster of emotions

This is by far, my favoutite bl series of all time.
To My Shore is a series that really stuck with me like no other bl series ever did. Not because it made me feel good by watching it, but because it showed me something you don’t see very often. I saw two people who are so different, yet somehow share so much. And their common ground isn’t pretty, it’s pain, scars, and the walls they’ve built to survive.
What hit me the most is that both of them carry really heavy pasts. Each in their own way, but both have learned to live with their pain. One tries to control things so he won’t lose, the other endures so he won’t fall apart. And somewhere in the middle, they meet.
The love in this series isn’t healthy, and it doesn’t pretend to be. It’s twisted, suffocating, full of dependence and fear. It’s a romance nothing like I’ve seen before, it’s not safe, not balanced. But it’s intense and real. And that’s what makes it so powerful.
I never felt like the series was telling me “this is right.” Instead, it showed me what happens when two wounded people try to love each other without having healed themselves first. Sometimes I felt uncomfortable, sometimes angry, sometimes just sad to the bone. But I couldn’t stop watching.
To My Shore isn’t for everyone. It’s for those who can handle seeing love without filters, without sugarcoating. For those who understand that love isn’t always salvation, sometimes it’s a mirror. And this mirror, in this series, shows things that stick with you long after it’s over.

Superb Drama, so glad there are more episodes.

This was stunning. Fabulous story lines. Magnificent Male lead. I thought it was over at Episone 10 I an so happy there are more to go. Each Story had it's own charm. Great work from the scriptwriters. The episode of the doddgy car salesmen was my favourite. I laughed so much. The missing son one was sad and beautifully done. Loved the feeling of restoring justice and bringing down the crooks. This is my favourite Drama for a while. I noticed a lot of K and C Dramas Have been turning out some trash, so a good quality Drama is restorative. The acting was superb across the board. Enjoy.

Interesting but lacking big time

Sadly was highly disappointed at the lack of chemistry and bromance. The mystery part is great, but the lack of screen time with the two of them is horrible. So disappointed but then again not surprised since its bromance and not BL the way it should be like the book. I have two say I have seen better bromance, don't know how anyone gave this 10 stars its a lie. The storyline can be interesting at times, but it does drag on for to long, the banter is fun and the cast of actors look spot on, but the lack of true bromance chemistry is horrible. The down part is this is suppose to be a BL like the book did amazing, but to take of the BL was horrible. The bromance is even more bare with little chemistry with the actors time together. The cases are fun for each episode, the music is lovely, but as for holding a candle to the book its horrible. Its just another sherlock type of story nothing even much on bromance it was more like friends which is boring. Very disappointed.

No chemistry, unlikeable main characters & nonsensical romance

I watched this drama on iQIYI last night because I enjoyed Fan Chu Qi drama with Yang Yu Bin, in which she played a blind FL. I also liked Zhan Zhuo's visuals. However this drama did not meet my expectation.

What I liked:
1. Opening - Wow, that was spicy!
2. Visuals - Both Fan Chu Qi & Zhan Zhuo are gorgeous! Their outfits were beautiful too.
3. Supporting characters - I liked FL's bestie for being the only concerned for her wellbeing.

What I disliked:
1. Acting - There was no chemistry between FCQ & ZZ despite numerous kissing scenes. I also found ZZ's performance underwhelming in this drama. His ML supposed to be conflicted but ZZ's facial expressions remained one-note.
2. Romance - I also didn't buy the romance because of how it was written. A lot of assumptions from both sides.
3. Main characters - I didn't like both FL & ML. She forgave him easily after all that bet whilr ML was a scum for having personal collection of her racy photos.

Tão previsível que chega a ser chato.

Eu já não tinha grandes expectativas em relação a esse drama, a apresentação dele é bem feia, mas ainda assim ele conseguiu me frustrar.

Desde o primeiro episódio fica óbvio quem é o culpado e quem é inocente, o que destrói completamente o mistério. É tudo tão clichê que é impossível se enganar, e a tentativa do diretor de iludir o telespectador é tão batida e transparente que não dá nem para cair. Foram literalmente dez episódios só para revelar o que já estava escancarado desde o início.

A trama dos assassinatos é sem graça, não gera tensão nem curiosidade. Eu não fiquei minimamente empolgada porque nada acontece de forma envolvente. O romance dos protagonistas também não funcionou pra mim, não senti química nenhuma e a narrativa é repetitiva e cansativa. Todo episódio termina do mesmo jeito, com ele fazendo aquela reflexão sobre comi ele é culpado, o que fica exaustivo muito rápido.

O drama perde tempo demais com câmera lenta e narração em monólogo, recursos que além de repetitivos não são nem um pouco atraentes.

Faltou desenvolver melhor os personagens. O único que tentaram trabalhar, e ainda assim de forma superficial, foi o protagonista. Nem a protagonista teve um arco de desenvolvimento minimamente relevante. O casal secundário então nem se fala, parece que só jogaram ali para preencher espaço. Se tivessem explorado, por exemplo, o trauma da melhor amiga da protagonista, isso poderia ter dado alguma profundidade a ela, mas nem isso. No fim, os personagens secundários mais parecem figurantes de luxo.

E o episódio final que deveria ser o grande clímax com a descoberta (óbvia), foi um verdadeiro show de horrores, uma sucessão de cenas convenientes. Tudo acontece da forma mais forçada e conveniente possível.

Enfim, é um drama bem fraquinho. Só não dou a nota mínima porque o protagonista tem um certo carisma, o personagem tem alguns bons diálogos, e o Jun fez um bom trabalho na interpretação. A atriz da mocinha é mediana, mas me convenceu dentro do que o roteiro permitia. De resto, nada a destacar. A fotografia é ok, a trilha sonora teve mais erros do que acertos, no geral é isso, um drama fraco e esquecível.
