Well my opinion will be totally different - but nothing new cause I like more dramas coming this year which I have watched. First thing which in my opinion is important to point out is that this one was overhyped. People hyped it so much before the release - even before trailer - simply because of "expensive" cast (yeah I hate that, just say good or popular actors, expensive really annoyes me). Because of that hype people were dissapointer, they expected something what never was even promised. In my opinion - as someone who had a lot of going on, watched it without any expectation (but yeah I watched because of Seo In Guk, Park Hyung Sik and Ma Dong Seok) and needed something to relax - I simply enjoyed it.
Also important to point out is that it had a little different filming style? It was totally as playing a game, this is how fighting scenes lookes and how story moved - and that can also be a reason why some people did not like it. Personally I love it. CGI was not as bad as people say, outfits were good (pretty realistic), plot some people will like some not, you just need to check for yourself - but if you expect dissapointment then there is no way to avoid it. The only thing which I can agree which would work probably better for general public was to make it a movie (although personally I prefer series). It can work well with second season but open ending/cliffhanger is also good.
I have nothing bad to say about acting - it was good, in the end we had really good cast. To not spoil anything I will talk about my favourite actors/characters:
1. SIG - I did not expected his character to be ...hmm guffy? but still really liked him here
2. PHS - well he never was a villain, he lost his way but still did nothing really bad (one more thing which people found dissapointed only because they expected some crazy bad guy - reminder that you also did not really like his villain arc in Burried Hearts....)
3. MDS - he is so cute eventhough that he played a tougth guy
4. Lee Joo Bin - this girls is literally killing this year!! (first Lee Dong Wook as love interest, now PHS. Also SIG as a friend) She's getting all the hot gyus, go girl!!! but I have to admit that I expected a little more action for her character, a little more badass
5. Kang Mi Na - she played perfectly a "dog" angel, she was totally giving a puppy and loving vibe, love her reunion with SIG (but same company and were giving sibling vibe - so I think we can see it a lot)
6. Sung Yoo Bin - and the one I did not know but caught my attention, I just like white haired characters (what can I do), he also gave a little of Suga vibe (so again, my bias, what can I do).
To sum up - do not only read reviews or tiktok opinions, always check for yourself and go with clear mind, to judge it without any prejudgments.

A drama that challenges your morals
This drama has destroyed me! There are so many dark themes that will leave you devastated. This drama is a story about the love-hate relationship between two best friends who practically grew up together. It’s also about being human, making mistakes, forgiving, and the importance of self-love or self-hatred.
What really impressed me about this drama was how we as an audience felt the exact same things as one of the main leads Ryu Eun-jung. We see the story of the two girls becoming friends and growing up together in 4 parts of the drama:
1. Their childhood in elementary / junior high school. She loves her friend Cheon Sang-yeon first, then at school she wants to hurt her, then they become friends, E.J. also loves S.Y.’s family members (mom and brother). S.Y. becomes like a second family to her. S.Y. however develops jealousy and hatred towards E.J. during these years because she gets all the attention from her family members that she rarely gets but craves. They fight over sth again but rekindle when S.Y. runs away from home and hides in E.J.’s house. She starts feeling warm motherly love from E.J.’s mom. The scene in which she eats her noodles and cries into her bowl broke my heart. These childhood scenes were so important to further try to understand S.Y.’s behaviour.
Then, her brother dies and the only person who is really there for her is E.J. The latter starts feeling pity for S.Y. which adds to their already complicated relationship of seeing each other as rivals (in E.J. eyes S.Y. has everything she wants aka money, wealth and a big house, and in S.Y.’s eyes E.J. has everything she wants aka a loving mother amd people in general loving her).
2. part is a fast forward to uni life, E.J. is at uni, happily studying and dating a guy with the same name as her first love aka S.Y.’s brother who died. Soon S.Y. also joins the uni, as we later find out not because of E.J. but because of her secret crush on E.J.’s boyfriend that she has had for many years when they met in a chatroom. Seeing how again E.J. has the person that S.Y. is so desperately craving for, leads to her eventually trying to manipulate Kim Sanghak (the boyfriend) into helping her while keeping it secret from E.J. As viewers, we see whats happening and although we feel sad and pity for S.Y. because she does want to find out about her brother by using S.H. we also do notice that she is using her brother as an excuse to get closer to S.H. and create a drift between E.J. and S.H. sth that a best friend should not be doing.
In the end, it comes to a huge showdown of E.J. breaking up with S.H. because of S.Y. and a huge fight between the girls when S.Y. refuses to accept the apartment money from E.J. because of her pride. A pride that eventually might be the reason for her loneliness and for pushing people away. In that scene I felt really mad at S.Y. because her mother was dying too and she could have used the help from E.J. since she was also like someone from the family. But probably S.Y. did it on purpose because she really did NOT want E.J. to be part of her family under any means. She didn’t even tell E.J. that her mom was gonna die which made me even madder.
Then the 3rd part of the show is them as adults, now working in the film industry. The scenes here really made me the angriest about S.Y. She has become totally spiteful and emotionless after her mother’s death. She shows up at E.J.’s office as a co-producer and we also see Kim Sanghak joining. He still has feelings for E.J. and S.Y. still has feelings for S.H. or she is more like obsessed with him in an unhealthy way. We see her confessing her love to him but he of course denies her. She breaks down and ends up getting drunk at some point, when she pleads E.J. to not date S.H. because she loves him but can’t have him so she doesn’t want her to have him either. That scene just blew my mind!!!! And E.J. did tell him that she can’t date him again, just for S.Y. because I do feel that she was actually thinking about rekindling that love. But her pity for S.Y. was so inherently deep, a feeling she had to live with all her life since her childhood. But then, what does S.Y. do??? She steals E.J.’s project and her director and founds her own company because she wants to see E.J. destroyed just like she is 🤯🤯🤯 She can’t live with the fact that she is fine… I was so shocked and hated her as much as E.J. did.
The last part of the show is the current situation of S.Y. coming back into E.J.’s life. She has terminal cancer and wants to end her own life in switzerland and asks E.J. to help her and accompany her to the facility in Switzerland.
This last part of the drama was the hardest to watch. Again, as viewers we do feel pity for S.Y. but we also remember what she did to E.J. so we can understand why she acts so dismissive towards her. This drama challenged my way of thinking in many ways: Is pity enough to love someone? No, it isn’t. The love between the two girls goes deeper than pity. It’s them seeing themselves reflected in each other. It is also envy, and striving to love oneself that they see in each other.
Can you really love someone again and again despite them hurting you? Yes, you can. Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting. It means remembering especially well what they did to you and why they did it. Especially childhood friends have a huge significance on us, almost as if they are our family. They shape us in our formative years so loving them is almost unconditional.
The way that E.J. forgave S.Y. is almost like empathizing with a villain who had a very tough life and is now trying to become a better human being, but eventually will have to die. So this is your last chance to say goodbye.
Now for the other characters, apart from Eun-Jung, Sangyeon and Sanghak, E.J.’s mother was one of the most important characters. She was the epitome of unconditional love. She saw right into S.Y.’s heart and how much she was in pain and how much she strived for love and affection. She didn’t see SY for her actions but for her pain and struggles. EJ later says “My mom thinks that not everything bad is all bad.” I think this quote says it all.
And then ofc we have SY’s mother and her importance in EJ’s life and how she showed EJ what she herself couldn’t see in her: That she is talented as well. She also helped her replace her pain over her deceased father br creating something beautiful. It seemed that SY’s mother was showing more affection to EJ than to her own daughter which added to the viewers feeling sadness and pity for SY (because EJ’s mother treated SY nicely but she also treats her daughter well). I think the relationship between SY and her mother was one of the most complicated ones. It made me really sad: How she didnt show to her daughter at first, and then how SY pushed her suffering mother away after her brother’s death and even blamed her mother for his death, how then her mother got sick and also died and SY felt regret over wasting her time with her mother on blame, pain and resentment… Her mother has always loved SY but she just wanted her to become a kind human and that’s why she was so strict with her as a child.
One of the messages of this drama might be: We are not perfect, we are human. Humans have faults and humans make mistakes even if they’re aware of those mistakes, even if they keep doing the same mistakes again and again without any effort of improving, even if they hurt others with it; we are all just humans who will have to live through a cycle of suffering endlessly…
I am sure I could write more about this drama and its characters as it was so challenging to read all the emotional struggles they were all going through. Definitely worth a watch but I could never rewatch this!

IMO the best kdrama of 2025
I knew about this kdrama since Park Sunghoon's controversy and the addition of Lee Chaemin as the ML. I didn't know Lee Chaemin before BAYM, so I didn't know what to expect about his performance... And wow, what a performance, he really deserves an award!!! Not only him, but also the FL. I read Yoona learnt how to cook all the dishes for the kdrama for 3 months, she really worked hard. Their chemistry is insane, since the 1st episode I couldn't stop laughing with their interactions. For me, one of the best couples ever.I also want to mention Mokju and Jesan. I really hate them both as characters, but the actors ate with their acting too, really well portrayed villains.
The secondary characters😭 what can I say about them apart from: I LOVE THEM. Each one has an special moment in the drama, and they're all so funny and memorable!!!
Even the romance wasn't the main focus (it was the cooking, which I really loved) the ship was delivering, really they deserve couple of the year award. They're chaotic, funny and so protective of each other, so cute romance😭
I feel that in most time-travel dramas, the mc's profession looses importance when the plot develops, but here no, the FL being a chef was importante since the beginning to the end, and I really love that. In every scene where Yoona cooks or they show the dishes, I felt hungry, fr what an amazing food aesthetic they made!!
For me, it was the kdrama of the year, it gave me everything I love: good chemistry and romance, funny scenes and memorable characters. It was horrible for me to wait EACH WEEK for new episodes, my whole week since the release of the kdrama was just me watching edits on tiktok cause I was so excited.
The only thing I need now is a modern rom-com starring Yoona and Chaemin!!!

Deliciously Dangerous
This drama was so much better than I had imagined!!!!I had only ever seen Yoon A in King the Land which was a very cringey show for me and I didn’t enjoy watching it at all, so before starting this drama I was doubting Yoon A’s performance but she was amazing! Hilarious in funny scenes and cute in some as well. Lee Chae Min was a new actor for me but I think his acting was phenomenal. My highlight in terms of acting was Kang Han Na as Mokju!!! Her acting was top-notch!!!
So far for the plot, I liked it. The end felt a bit rushed. Although I did enjoy the cooking battle, they could have shortened the scenes there a bit and added one more episode in the end, when the main leads meet again in the modern times.
I had the same questions as everyone else for the end about how he managed to get to modern times (I assume it was the one page that fell on him), and did he have money? (Maybe he sold his sword 😂). I would have loved to see his journey. I am sure it would have been very entertaining to watch 😂😂😂
I guess my theories for the end came true! I rather thought they would go back together instead of seperately and then meeting by surprise. But eventually he came as himself and not as a descendant like all the other characters 😍☺️☺️
Now I want a season 2 showing their lifes in modern day Seoul

Too Short - resolution weak
spoilers included: Are from previous seasons and first couple minutes of this first episode this season. The headline to this review really has more to do with this season feeling forced. Due to the fact that there was weak character development, some of the deaths you are supposed to care about seemed very anti climactic. Ending easter eggs were great, but would have loved the MC somehow showig homage to his best friends. seriously.... they made the ultimate sacrifice, that he can't remember, but they were obviously "ended" by the meteorite. He should have at least visited a memorial "picture/name" wall, looked at a pic of the 3 of them on his phone, or even a pic on his desk....something?

This is a Sure Classic and will be Remembered as one of All-Time Favorites
This drama is repeatedly appearing as no. 1 in Korea and in Netflix so I was attracted to watch. I was not disappointed at all. The drama is not that long but it is so beautiful. Funny, Romantic, full of political tensions and historical drama but also full of love and tenderness all mixed into one with unity and harmony. The FL being a famous actress is expected to do well and she delivered as expected. She is beautiful and loving and captivating all throughout.
The ML is a revelation. I've read that he was a last minute replacement to the original actor and only got one month of preparation but he delivered an excellent acting as if a seasoned actor of highest caliber. My friend told me that there might be riots in Korea if he will not get the Best Actor award for this role. O gosh, the ML made me cry, laugh and felt in loved with him in short period of time. He showed gentleness and strength, love and anger through his eyes and body actions. He is a gem newly discovered. I wish to see more of him.
The story is so beautiful. Imagine, using cooking as a setting for a great drama and instead of a famous hero like King Jumong they chose a historical tyrant King as protagonist ML. This is very revolutionary and something new but it went so well.
This drama is now listed as one of the best of the best and unforgettable among my list of most beloved drama ever. Im so glad to see the happy ending. Now Im dreaming to cook for my beloved king everyday.

underwhelming
i was originally really excited to watch this because of the numerous good reviews it has. i really love watching fantasy, but this is nah. esther yu... what to do i say. her acting is always fluctuating, sometimes good, and sometimes horrible, her voice is like a baby's, which i am not a fan of. and dylan wang. even though he has many fans, i really can see why. i feel like his acting here is so wooden, and he is always sucking his cheeks in to make his face seem skinnier? idk. i also dont get how they suddenly fell in love. like no way they would fall in love like this. if the ml is super old, super powerful guy, then why would he fall for a girl acting like a child ? his actions are so different from what he is supposed to be like. and why did they start kissing at some random ep when they dropped into the water to avoid being seen? i know this is fiction, but this is so absurd and wierd .Was this review helpful to you?
A daily that started as decent and then stagnated
Lucia, the FL, behaved in ways that led to death of her daughter, then she takes revenge against others, without any self reflection. Then she enjoys revenge and goes on a power trip and does many manipulative nasty things
but she is so dumb and so unfit for revenging that she keeps making serious mistakes, yet she always gets out unscratched by sheer luck
There is some good acting in here, some veterans like the CEO, some good villains like the Lawyer, some new actors coming up, like Mr Moon,
but overall, this is not the best drama out there but not the worst either - simply bc the script does not have the most tight and interesting story. If the script were more interesting, this crew would definitely make a better drama.
Character of Lucia is not quite .... intelligent, let us put it that way LOL which is ok. But the problem is that THERE IS NO CHARACTER GROWTH. THat is why I think this is a mediocre drama overall.
So perhaps this is my personal bias, perhaps someone dumb would enjoy watching Lucia and never be annoyed that she is the same person and as dumb in ep 82 as in ep 1.
The music at the start was terrible, so loud and hyperactive, but seems like around ep 70ish they changed the music to fit better with the scenes, which helped a lot
This drama is like a psychological thriller, the characters keeps scheming to outdo each other
To make the drama really interesting and quality, there has to be some inner struggle, character growth, change and improvement in people.
We never saw Lucia self reflect... We never saw Stella or anyone else self reflect.... Mr Moon did some but not enough..... Written later - Stella did self correct SOMEWHAT but we never saw her self reflect..
NOBODY HAS GROWN OR CHANGED FORWARD FROM EP 1 TO EP 82
FL WENT BACKWARDS
Lucia got a glo over and is a little more composed but she has not changed much, really. She is a little bit more confident.. but she has also become an evil person, lying and manipulating others under the pretense of "love." What she is doing to SeRi, pretending to love her while cursing her in the back. is pure evil. Lucia's inability to self reflect is a severe fault.
Later Lucia accepted Se Ri just bc she was a bio daughter LOL
Lucia is a mother for sure... but ... a really dumb one.
The whole drama was like a cartoon - the good guys kept winning by sheer luck, getting unscratched doing some reaaaaaly stupid stuff.

Had potential but failed
>>>>> Written after ep 68:Started as not a cheap makjang but a deep psychological drama, with some great acting. It did not improve...
FL is written badly, and the actress cannot act so it is best to sideline her.. Her lines and her acting are THE EXACT SAME from ep 1 to ep 68. Finaly in ep 68 her dumb entitled behavior has consequences and she ends up in a coma - where she should stay until the end, imo bc that actress cannot act.
Other characters also do not change. Everything is just about outsmarting and outdoing each other with clever schemes
Bc of no growth in characters, and the only good guy Ha Neul regressing to be a bad guy, I dropped this drama after about ep 52 and occasionally come to take a peek.
============================
>>>>>Overall impression Written after ep 52:
The story is a chess game of manipulations and lies between ppl who are acting on their greed and complacency. Supposedly good characters turn corrupt, there are all kinds of messes... and eventually it seems some bad characters turn complex and some even redeeming. Or not LOL
The main purpose of this drama is to make the audience question where the line is. Are you supposed to go on a rampage spree and destroy people so that you can "revenge" that you were poor and powerless, or is there a better way.
Our female lead started as poor and powerless and exploited, but then she turned in an evil character who made so many people suffer needlessly - and DID NOT ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING EXCEPT KILLING HER FATHER .... and dragging the only moral and sane person down to her level of low cheap TOXIC dirt.... ... so now in th second half of the drama, she is starting a little differently but still with the same basic TOXIC ideas... and it is not going to end well :)
The main plot here is based on a woman - FL - doing revenge against her mother and another woman (YC). The revenge is based on GREED and BITTERNESS and BLINDNESS. She went after YC for good and proven reasons, but in a way that is .. wow destructive to sooo many ppl, including killing her father and emotionally wrecking her husband, whom she used for the revenge... and the audience found that entertaining and justified... If anything, this drama exposes the nasty in ppl.. .
And the way FL went after her mother is super ... blind.
And the way she went after the money is ... exposing the most nasty possible in every human being.
FL is pretty bad at acting and that is a real problem of the drama... and MLs are not acting too convincingly so that dampens the drama - why are drama ppl using "young and supposedly hot and popular" actors regardless of their ability to bring their character to life .... ???
I referred to Ha Neul as the ML :) I was shocked to find that SH is supposed to be ML. SH is not much on the screen, and it is pretty much flat and very ... simple character... and quite boring character and acting. We do not know anything about him!!! he is more like a tool on the side rather than a participant in the actual plot
luckily there are other characters who do pull the drama - the main ones are Chairman and Nan Suk - and
after ep 50, side characters are brought up to save the show, and it helps a lot. Hopefully the script will bring them out too - we need to see who they are.
We still got only ONE glimpse of who FL's husband really is... YC is still pretty much one-sided stupid brat ....
FL's mom was made more interesting by showing her greedy nasty side :)
the henchmen are now "waking up" etc
_____ A LOT OF INSIGHT INTO THE DRAMA CAN BE FOUND IN COMMENTS BY OPPA_ BELOW. I WILL QUOTE SOME OF IMO THE KEY POINTS:
THIS IS OPPA_COMMENT THAT SUMMARIZES THE DRAMA:
=== begin comments by OPPA_:
"In this drama, the FL didn’t choose the right or difficult path — she chose the easy one. And that’s the core of my point. Her actions weren’t empowering or revolutionary; they were simply convenient. Success without dignity or honesty doesn’t feel like success to me, and it definitely doesn’t make the character admirable or justified."
"FL did succeed in deceiving people long enough to manipulate her way into marriage with a wealthy man who would’ve never even looked at her if he knew her real identity. That’s the kind of “success” built entirely on lies. "
"those fancy outfits and that money don’t come for free. They come with anxiety, constant fear, and the pressure of maintaining a lie that grows bigger every day. Once someone chooses that easy, unethical path, they keep going deeper because turning back means facing consequences they are terrified of. It becomes a point of no return — submit to the dark side or let the truth destroy everything. And most people who choose shortcuts never plan to deal with the fallout… until it’s too late."
"there was nothing noble or romantic about Ha Neul behavior. It didn’t feel like love; it felt like pure lust and infatuation. He wasn’t protecting truth or doing what's morally right — he was driven by desire, not principles. "
==== end of comments by OPPA_ =====
>>>>>Written after ep 7 by me LOL:
This drama is so well done. The complexity makes it interesting, and the fact that FL is not a clutz as typical. FL actress is doing a great job portraying the complexity, which is also rare.
I think the description of the drama has to be changed bc it does not really fit the vibe. This is not a cheap makjang but a very serious deep psychological drama (and social commentary).
The acting is great. There are a lot of characters and they are all... shady to some degree LOL the best one is the Ha Neul but even he is shady, hiding secrets and wrongdoings of FL...
I think HN story is TOXIC AND DESTRUCTIVE...
NL story is a very toxic plot and toxic relationship with FL... He started as someone with brains and intergity, and then dragged himself down into her mud bc he "loves" her.. Capul... he does not love her for real.. it is rather ... codependent relationship... ... it is a very toxic relationship and plot...
He dragged himself down into her mud... It is like falling in love with an addict and enabling them... HN enables wrongdoings of FL and it leads into tragic outcomes..... for so many ppl. HN betrayed his best friend, enabled killing of FL's father, etc etc etc
======
A typical kdrama FL is a clutz clueless loser who is taken advantage of in some way and/or lacks the skills to navigate life and is always on the bottom, taken advantage of. These losers are usually "good" characters, who are naive, insecure, etc and in fact acting as indirect villains i.e. enablers, because they allow the real villains to wreck chaos, unchecked :) So their path of redemption is to stop being enablers... and to still stay good LOL I think this plot was suitable for housewives in 1950s... or abused women...
In this drama, the FL is not an enabler :) She starts as a good but insecure naive character who is capable and keeps trying to win her life in proper ways - but there are objective obstacles to it and she lacks the luck and the know-how to move on forward - and then.... makes a bad decision out of greed and complacency, and then goes further down the easy glam shady path LOL
and then she has to return :) her redemption will be to make her designer dream come true and make money that way and leave the impersonation
I think this plot is applicable to many contemporary working woman today :)
======
WRITTEN AFTER EP 52:
FL actually turned to be a very small wounded child who did all this out of greed, and justified it with revenge against her bio mom, and then blindly like a raging bull, without any thought or reason, went in to INTENTIONALLY HARM people.... And caused death of her father... and emotional breaking of her (spoiled snowflake chaebol) husband...
It was pretty pathetic.... FL has so much to grow... and the actress is not good in acting...
The plot is a real chess game of ppl playing manipulation games with each other. HOPEFULLY it results in some character growth. So far... not really :)
The characters turned out interesting... bc ... Chairman actor is so good at his camouflaged serial killer role... so sweet and polite... and then horrifying.. He added an element of a horror movie... Truly!!!!!! Although I totally admire his acting, he is scary to watch. Like watching a hungry lion monster in your face, sniffing you quietly. He is suuuuper good at his role. It does not get so much screen time bc he is one sided psychocrazy serieal killer camouflaged as a sweet loving charming person, but he steals the show as he sets the tone. HE SETS THE BASE TONE AND THE BACKGROUND FOR THE WHOLE DRAMA.
And the main villain Nan Suk actress is so good at acting and so fun to watch and listen to. The script makes her say aloud what she is thinking, so we got to "know her" and she has masterfully brought that character to life The drama is alive bc of *her*. I love watching her. That actress is so masterful in acting. Also, she is pretty and acts a lot with her face and body language and voice, and has amazing flashy wardrobe and jewelry and makeup, so she is really really really fun to watch. She is a complex character.....
So I would say these two actors carry this drama.
They made their characters totally REAL and ALIVE.
FL's dad was such an unpleasant redneck, but it turned out he was the only relatively sane and moral character... He is gone now. And it is ok. He and the acting was not enlivening the drama...
But the rest of the characters are far from moral or sane... This drama is about so many ppl making severe mistakes out of greed and/or complacency....
Now the side characters are starting to get more time and it is getting more interesting.
The only other "good" character - well USED TO BE good - Ha Neul - and I call him ML bc he is the true love interest of FL - and the actor listed as ML is doing very little - well he is a very shady one too. Out of cowardice and complacency, he stood by FL as she was doing all kinds of crimes. So he started as a moral and upright person to end up at the pit of being a pathetic partner in crime... It is a very toxic relationship as he stands by FL as she does one stupid thing after another... So now we have TWO little wounded kids collaborating in revenge... I am not sure what will happen. but.. And this actor is young too and not quite capable of showing the complexity of this character. The script too has to help him.
The "official" ML has so little screen time and is shown as one dimensional flat moma boy snowflake, and the acting is really mediocre. But perhaps could be better, there was ONE scene where he did not have any veneers (the shower scene with YC trying to seduce him) and that is the only scene where he was uncensored himself and acted well.
The drama ppl try to help these young male actors by showing them in the shower, and that is a lot nicer self therapy than getting drunk and a lot more fun to watch LOL and leads to better plots... but I think the guys should ACT more and rely less on the shower. The shower scenes are not what we are here for. It's ok to have two so far but let us work on acting.
Actually, the amazingly handsome dudes are the henchman. One is obviously some kind of heavy duty athlete and looks stunning in his business suit, and both are excellent actors as finaly they are being brought from the background and acting and more alive as as human beings. Ep 52 the heavy athletic one is shown eating and moving around .... in his business suit ... and yeah that dude has a body!!!! But what is more important, it is a body of a character that is shown ALIVE, SMART AND CARING, the ***acting*** makes it wow.
So it was fascinating to see how a totally dead character - a henchman killer just standing there stiffly with a poker face in every scene he was in - suddenly turned alive ... and now we see a PERSON! a person who physically looks amazing and has lots of feelings. That actor is amazing.
And then two shady henchman characters who helped in all kinds of murders etc turned out to be a little bit humane .... The other one is comical... but that one at least did not kill anyone that we know of so far,,,
Side note but imporatnt - this new fad of demanding that female actresses be SO THIN to the point of looking like a skeleton... One thing it does, it makes their bones be weak and their legs esp under the knee look like an O...
so putting a mini skirt on that looks hideous while walking, as the knees look so gnarly and the bones clunk around... boots make it even more visible...

Tears of Joy
Cast was superb. Especially the role of Little Big Brother. He made me cry whenever he cried. Among all characters I rooted for him the most and was crying tears of joy when he finally found his happiness. I didn’t enjoy the romance so much but the bromance was truly touching. So satisfied with the ending of the drama…..Was this review helpful to you?
I LOVE IT!!!
I loved this so much. I’m not normally a fan of historical drama, but this one might have changed that.Although lots of people didn’t, I loved the mix of comedy, romance and action. Even though I did get confused with the king and stuff, I understood it later on lol.
I was drawn in from the start, I didn’t find one bit boring and I loved most of the characters.
At first I didn’t like Dongju just because I didn’t like she deserved Nokdu, but she redeemed herself later in my opinion.
I tried to not share any spoilers and I hope you agree with me. :)

Similar to US tv show Jane the Virgin, FL was artificially inseminated
I was in the mood for Aorigele dramas so I decided to watch this drama. I had low expectation but wow I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this drama. What I liked:
1. FL characterisation - I loved her because there was character growth. At the start, she was mousy and insecure but she slowly learned to trust her judgements & convictions.
2. ML characterisation - He was so sweet. I liked that he was a nice boss and didn't easily cave into family pressure.
3. Romance - Very sweet. I loved it when ML directly told FL that he was pursuing her.
4. Styling - Wonderful pieces selected for FL as you can see outfits that match varying stages of transformation. ML's outfits were great too. Plain white t-shirt was the highlight for me.
What I disliked:
1. Antagonists - SFL was a delusional b!tch who think ML was her possession. There was also another entitled ass who was condescending towards FL. I was delighted when both were punished. I disliked FL's father who was money-hungry scumbag. He too got punished.
2. Nails - OMG, so many raptor nails in the drama: delusional b!tch, entitled b!tch and even a gynaecologist. Having long fingernails for work at hospital just did not make sense.
Favourite scene
When ML told FL that he's pursuing her

It's about the soft and fluffy love, not the life in danger
This is show is all about the feel-good soft mushy love between In and Thap, so have your expectations set from the start. The plotline might sound serious but it is quite simple and the show is not really plot-driven. In fact, the plotline exists only to drive forward the blossoming romance between the main characters. With that being said, the lead actors carry the whole show with their fantastic chemistry* and acting while the support actors do a good job of driving forward the story.Since this show is not plot-heavy but rather focuses on the relationship between the main characters, it could have been very easy to turn into a train wreck. Thankfully, each character has a purpose in the story and the writing is very clear that it wants to focus on romance instead of juggling between a suspense thriller and romantic comedy. The actors understood their characters and executed their roles flawlessly.
I rate it a 7.5 rating instead of 8 because judging from the trailer and the synopsis, I thought it would be a lot more deeper when it comes to the whole life-in-danger plotline. Even though I was a bit mislead by that, the show was still fun to watch. Short-and-sweet is the phrase for it, I suppose.
*Some of the romantic dialogues had me cringing so hard I have no idea how the actors managed to pull them off with a straight face.
