This series delivered exactly what the trailers promised — a visually stunning BL with strong performances and overflowing chemistry.

First finally got to play a negative role, and he absolutely ate that character. The sharp expressions, the controlled darkness, the subtle emotional cracks — he proved once again why he’s one of GMMTV’s most versatile actors. I’ve been waiting so long to see him in a villain arc, and he didn’t disappoint for even a second. Jimmy, on the other hand, made me so proud. His improvement from his early projects is honestly incredible. You can see the growth in his confidence, delivery, and emotional depth. And when you put Jimmy and Sea together? The chemistry was overflowing — soft, intense, magnetic. They carried the romantic tension effortlessly. The only thing I wished for was a more shocking mystery. Most of us predicted pretty early that First’s character was the villain, so the big reveal didn’t hit as hard as it could have. If the plot twist had been a bit more layered or unpredictable, this could’ve easily been a 10/10. But still, as a magical BL with excellent acting and gorgeous production, My Magic Prophecy delivered beautifully.

Fun but not in the way I expected

While I am no expert, I am a pretty big consumer of danmei novels. When these books are turned into dramas, my fancy is tickled. While I never read the source novel for ABO Desire, in a moment of boredom, I turned the drama on.
Less than 24 hours later, I completed this…..not masterpiece, not shlock, not….well, let me explain.

ABO Desire is a LGBTQ+ story set in the omegaverse. If you are not familiar with that type of genre, please google it. Just know ABO stories are typically the most toxic excuses for fiction out there.

Yes, I watched anyway.

Yes, it did have ABO toxic elements.

So why did I complete it in a day?

It may have something to do with having the time off of work to binge. Perhaps it was the long cold almost-winter’s night. This story had me laughing at all the wrong parts and hating every single character that graced the screen.

If a show can make me hate everyone on the screen while finding the characters sympathetic, it is worth watching at least once.

Characters:
Truth be told, if I say too much about the characters, it will be a spoiler. Just know that Hua Yong is probably one of the topmost memorable characters I have ever watched on the screen. Played beautifully by Huang Xing, Hua Yong sucks me in from the first moment I see him and I…..just……can’t……look…..away.

Watch this show just to see all the very interesting things Hua Yong manifests in all sixteen episodes.

Please know that if you are a human with a moral compass, all four leads will make you uncomfortable with their less than righteous choices…….very uncomfortable.

The main couple’s story was the most interesting where the second couple was borderline silly.

That said, if you’re looking for romantic chemistry, I did not find it anywhere in ABO Desire. If you desire (pun intended) stomach-fluttering-passion, watch Revenged Love not this show.

The one character that I will give detail on is Shen Wen Lang played by Jiang Heng. This was basically Jiang Cheng (notice the name is almost the same) from The Untamed. The actor looks like Wang Zho Cheng, he sounds like Wang Zho Cheng and he plays Shen Wen Lang if it were Jiang Cheng. The very essence of this character is Jiang Cheng played by Wang Zhuo Cheng, but not. It is UNCANNY!

I noticed other viewers commented the same thing.

Story:
I won’t go deep into the story because I’ll be honest, if I get too deep, it will spoil it. Just know it is about corporate China with an ABO story line that contains EVERY ABO and cold-CEO cliché known to Chinese dramas……yet, turned on it’s head.
And I laughed.

I laughed so hard at all the dramatic moments, I really do hope the screen writer meant for everything to come off as satire, otherwise, this is some really bad writing. I am grateful for the humor. It made this ABO mess just shine as something a little bit different or outside of the norm.

MUSIC:
The music was more than forgettable. This series is very low budget. Most of the money was spent on the clothes and cars. Everything else was passable.

OVERALL:
If you are looking for ABO on the screen, here’s your chance. If you long for clichés galore, turn it on. If you need a good laugh, I recommend binging the night away. Truly, Hua Yong’s character is the only one where I think the acting was spectacular, unless you consider the Jiang Cheng-impersonator.

Classic story, top notch writing…….not so much, but it sure was entertaining.

frustrating games...

This was a bland boring drama where there is minimal character development and plot progression. The characters are unidimensional who swing between screaming, scheming and betraying. Also dont start with me about the father charcter, winner of the worst father of the year award.
If anyone is planning to watch this drama because of their love for the lead pair, just keep it in check as this drama can test your patience. this drama is a step down for the lead pair who was fantastic in Century of Love, the story runs in circles like a headless chicken and the audience is made to run along it.
Its a shame that both the leads brought their A game for such a poorly written and sloppily produced drama. One can categorise it under a lakorn but it fails to measure up to that.
Hoping DaouOffroad lands better projects in future... certainly not another hot mess like this.

A Good Time, Just Not the Same Spark

Season 2 is not quite as strong as Season 1. The tone shifts noticeably from playful, silly fun to a more serious slice of life vibe. For the most part, the show succeeds in what it is trying to do, but the change can feel a bit jarring. This season also shifts the perspective from So-Hee to Ji-Yeon, which I actually liked because it gives the story a fresh emotional angle.

The first few episodes were a miss for me. With the girls living in the mountains, the show temporarily loses the unique charm that made Season 1 so lovable. Once they return to the city, that charm slowly but steadily comes back.
Character development is at the center of this season. If Season 1 celebrated the joy and warmth of female friendships, Season 2 explores the more complicated, bitter, and uncomfortable sides of those relationships. I am personally not a fan when friendship centered shows separate the main characters in the last episode for growth or to neatly conclude the story. It always feels like they are checking a box rather than serving the story.

The romance also falls a bit flat this time. Ahn So Hee and the PD have a dynamic that feels like a repetition of the same beats, and Ji Goo’s romance, which took an entire season to build, ends up feeling rushed.

Even with these issues, I still genuinely enjoyed Season 2. The chemistry between the girls remains fun and natural, and it is hard not to feel like you are part of their friend group. I especially appreciated their fallout because it feels honest and real. Friendships are not perfect, and the show is willing to acknowledge jealousy, anger, and unresolved feelings. What matters is that they choose to stay in each other’s lives anyway.

I also loved the yoga institute storyline. The unstable relationships, the conflicts, and the eventual resolution are handled with care and nuance. The episode focusing on the girls and their mothers is a standout. It is heartfelt, grounded, and painfully true. Even with all the tension, there is an imperfect but unshakeable love that binds them.

Overall, Season 2 is a great watch, just not as good as Season 1. It does not reach the same highs, but it still offers emotional depth, relatable moments, and the same lovable trio that made the show special.

Um… I liked the ending?

What I got from it is just because you’ve come across some really shitty people who don’t deserve your kindness, that doesn’t mean you should stop being kind. You’ll come across people who do deserve it.

The middle of the story is 7 layers of toxic, but you kinda have to watch it to appreciate the ending lol.

Namhom, this is a 4 eps series, so all we see is that chapter in her life from Fon’s POV. I think the girl is so damaged that unless she gets therapy, she’s gonna continue her self destructive ways. There are some people who have a lot going on that no matter how much love you throw at them, it’s not gonna help them unless they want to change themselves. And even for some people who do want to change, they can’t do it without professional help, guidance and social support. And while Namhom is the most toxic person in the story, she’s still a compelling character if you can see people on a greyscale instead of just black or white.

I’m going to assume that what Namhom said about her mom is true. So she’ll always be looking for the love that she didn’t get from her mom from people who resemble and treat her like… her mom. That’s why the ending hits the way it does.

That cycle breaks with her child who is able to embrace that love from Fon, the love Namhom can’t accept for herself.

As for Fon’s friend, Mint, I think Fon made the right decision. What Mint did is unforgivable as a friend imho. Although I thought to myself Namhom messes up how many times and sleeps with how many people? And yet Fon is always ready to forgive her and take her back. But Mint, who has always been by her side, makes one mistake, and it’s like immediate cut off. Like wh…????

Hopefully, Fon eventually meets the right person. She messed up with the previous person. Overcompensated with the next. After all that, I think she’s ready for the right person now. Don't you?

6.5-7/10

I liked but but the ending fell kinda flat

I thought the story was very unique but did not like how Kang Min Ju and Jeong Ja kinda just felt like the writer was in a rush to wrap up their storylines, and it felt like their characters kinda got a short ending without a real resolution. I would have liked to know what will happen to their characters. Overall though, the show was very cute!

Love this but it activates my historical drama ptsd

Recommend this. All actors are superb, even minor roles. I love how the ML is acted here, he felt alive (the actor won grand prize for his acting in this drama, I'm not surprised). There are no villains or heroes, just story of people trying to survive each on their own ways. Got me watched all 21 episodes without skipping in the middle. Every episode in Part 2 triggered my ptsd though (accumulated trauma from historical c-drama and k-drama), every time he reunites with FL, i felt like arrows are going to pierce him out of nowhere lol

I'm pleased to note...

I'm pleased to note that the drama is quite realistic in its portrayals of the young, ambitious CEO, professor, and assistant. They are highly educated and physically fit, with a desire to explore and implement new technologies, even relying on intuition. Given the country's successful economic development, it's likely this generation of leaders is working in big business. The drama depicts a company engaged in investment, the nuances of the work, the risks, and the betrayal of specialists who leave the company during difficult times. CEO Shi Yan created this company after leaving the family business and is forced to report to the elders and assume responsibility. I understood the business world because of my work, but if someone unfamiliar with it is not, I'm afraid the drama will seem boring. The journalists' work, however, was interesting; there was much new learning, but there was also some envy and backstabbing. The supporting couples are each engaging in their own way and have their place in the drama, but the actors failed to outshine the lead couple.  The drama's theme of friendship between the male leads is vibrant, as are the conversations they have at meetings, their support for each other, and the jokes themselves. The lead actors are a whole other story. Dylan is perfect as the CEO. He's slender, handsome, and not overly strong, but those kinds of actors often don't look convincing in such roles. Dylan, however, is amazing. He doesn't just read the script, he thinks and translates those thoughts onto the screen. His facial expressions help add emotion to the character. Dylan has the artistry and can surface, sometimes hidden behind sarcasm and sharp remarks in his verbal exchanges with Bai Lu's character. The actress is incredibly beautiful and delivers a unique performance, creating a harmonious couple in love. Anyone who enters this world of elegant everyday life and unique charm will be left with a lasting, pleasant aftertaste and a desire to watch again and again.

I do not like trashy soap opera style BLs....

This series has the same problem as "Love in the Moonlight", with the exception that it was not painful to watch, just cringe. The overdramatized bad guys/gals and the excessive pathos was still the same. And what also obvious, they can't do action right. While it looks nicely coreographed especially in the beginning, you see that the punches do not connect in the slightest. I won't write about the shooting scenes which were just embarrassing.

The only positive I have to say is that DaouOffroad are very good when they act alone or in a serious setting, their chemistry just works. Also the other actors were not bad, but I don't like the overacting and over-dramatization. They could have done this in a serious more thriller-like setting and then the story would have had much more impact, But no, they went the thai way which in this case is bad way.

Spoiler:
The finale was also bad: Pheen has a plan and of course he does not tell his husband. We all know, he can't die, because a BL has to have a happy end (very few exeptions), so he left for a long time, hurting Than again (and again). The reason: Because he needed to change his name, so he can disappear. WTF? Is that, because he don't want to face the consequences of his actions? And he was already married, so he could have taken the name of his husband. And of course everyone dies, so there are no real consquences, no court session to exploit all the bad things the characters did. It's a lazy and cheap way of story-telling.
Edit: Of course the whole inheritance arc did not make any sense, because: if Pheem was decleared dead Than would have inherited the whole company with all the hospitals. Because he was the last legal heir before any uncles and cousins. So Pheem changing his name would not let him get away from his family background because his man would own EVERYTHING. And would be richer than he alone was. And because Than would then be famous Pheem could not be with him. So the writers had no clue what they wrote about and this makes no sense whatsoever.
End of Spoiler

So considering everything, this is not even a medicore show and I know many will hate me because I think so. But that's what I felt when I watched this and sadly this is also one of the shows I will never watch again, because it's a waste of my time.

God it’s irreparably flawed, but I loved it.

I struggle so deeply with giving The Wicked Game this rating, as this was a drama I was truly enthralled with. Pheem’s characterization was incredibly strong and well-rounded, Offroad had a hell of a job with this character and he did fantastic with it.

Now, here’s where the issue lies. That ending. It was almost the same as Laws of Attraction. Also killing off everybody in that show except for Than and Pheem? So Risa was never actually brought to justice? It made everything we had been building to feel in vain, which is not a good feeling as a watcher. Just lazy writing that I’m quite disappointed with.

I really believe they should have made more episodes, because that final episode felt as though they were just trying to cram everything together in a horribly messy little bow.

Now, all that said. What a ride. I truly loved this show. Though I was disappointed with how it ended, I was locked in every episode that came out. It was edge of your seat drama and it was incredibly entertaining to watch the power plays that happened each week between the siblings. I wish Chet and Risa would have lived to the end to see what would happen to them. But at the same time, with the constant violence in that family, perhaps they were bound to wind up like this.

Oh, The Wicked Game, how I hate you and I love you. Oddly fitting given the dynamic between Than and Pheem. I look forward to the next one.

There is something about how this drama was put together that hooked me from the very beginning. So much that I could overlook things that usually bother me like people talking to versions of themselves or poop jokes. Partly because they were done decently, partly because they actually forwarded the plot and partly because the characters where just so very lovable.

There is something about putting togeheter not just opposites but people from completely different places in life in a gruop based on mutual respect and an common interest. A group. that sees you and helps you grow all in a fun setting, adorable themes and even though some may seem slightly over the top they do not cross over to over the top pathetic annoying. Not even once. This is not an easy balance to maintain, especially in dramaland and with some of those acors. But somehow they managed to keep that balance. That alone made this worthy of en extra star. I love this club and would love to have one of those of my own even though I am not sure I would actually dare attend one.

The different ways to act as siblings in this is shown really well, and I must say fond siblings as well as biological siblings in this are some of dramalands best. The parents are some of dramalands worst (not something in the rain bad, but bad).

The romance in this is top, sweet, complicated, it has fun development and incorporates both playfulness, insecurity and shows different ways to find romance. But not only does it give me a romance addict the fix I need it also gives me different ways to love (outside of romance) as well as reasons to love even though it hurts.

Other things I love about this drama is the show of a bunch ways to feel insecure, fighting low self a steam, sthere is no quick fix and you can always relapse and self destruct. The show also manages how low self a steam is nurtured, what can make otherwise good girls lie, rebel and want to die.

So much good in this but not all, some parts are wrapped up to fast, specially the ending and family relations. Even though I said they managed to keep an okay balance I can not completely ignore the potentially annoying elements existence and some characters have moments of just a little bit to perfect.

Also I want a spin off with two of the best friends, preferably filmed a broad. ...

✨Rebirth, Blood Magic & Vampire Aesthetics: A Love Letter to Peak C-Drama Chaos✨

Ok homies, this little chaos goblin of a mini-drama rolled up to my screen wearing a cloak of nostalgia, vampire cosplay, and the emotional bandwidth of a caffeinated squirrel… and somehow? It worked. It’s strangely familiar yet weirdly original, like the writers rummaged through a bargain bin of fantasy tropes, found pseudo-vampires, flower magic, and one extremely burgundy-flagged ML (that is secretly a devoted puppy), then said, “Yeah. This is dinner.”

It starts off with your classic “I died, now watch me destroy everyone with a polite smile” rebirth setup, but shortly it mutates — like a butterfly dipped in glitter and trauma—into something that absolutely insists on being its own category.

The writing? Surprisingly competent.
The pacing? Shockingly coherent… until it isn’t.
The vibes? A fever dream but make it premium.

But let’s get to the heart of the chaos:
The romance is not fluffy. Not cozy. Not even borderline cute. This is two unhinged intellectual gremlins flirting through warfare. It’s “I hate you, but also if you died I would demolish the entire kingdom” energy.
He’s openly not nice.
She matches his freak without even blinking.
Their interactions feel like a speed chess match where both players are cheating. Absolutely enthralling. Buuuut, to be fair… for all the knives, chaos, and emotional warfare, they do grow into a surprisingly wholesome, strangely tender duo in the latter part. And the ML? That man has been secretly in love with her since before the plot even woke up. Dreamy, chaotic sigh.

The trio of main characters is deliciously messy. No cardboard NPCs here. The 2ML walked in giving me “vanilla villain starter pack,” but he unfolded nicely into a morally-seasoned, jaded mess. Growth!

Now, because the drama gods enjoy mischief:
The editing sometimes snaps like a glowstick at a rave. The FL oscillates between “I’m a brilliant mastermind” and “Oopsie I tripped over my last neuron.”
They also styled her like a youthful auntie, which made both MLs look like they were her mischievous nephews auditioning for mischief scholarships.
Second half? The plot said, “Let’s soap opera this b*tch,” and suddenly everyone’s IQ took a lunch break. The FL stabs the ML a millions times and he behaves like durability is a hobby. At this point he should genuinely be classified as artisanal Swiss cheese.
And LET’S TALK about that same cabin by the waterfall. I swear that place needs its own IMDb page. It’s in EVERY drama. That place is the Eiffel Tower of dramaland at this point.

But listen: despite it all—
this SLAPS.
They knew their lane and sped down it with rhinestoned sunglasses and no seatbelt.

This drama is an enthusiastic little creature—messy, dramatic, self-aware, and fully committed to its vibe. With limited budget but boundless confidence, it gives you revenge, magic, morally injured men, funky editing, unhinged chemistry, and enough entertainment to keep you glued to the screen, as well as a well wrapped up happy ending for the leads.
Very much worth checking out—just bring an open mind, flexible expectations, and a sense of humor.
