Another story with potential turned into a circus complete with clowns

It looks like the consensus is obvious that the series started out solid and fell into foolishness. This is just one more example of what could have been a winning adaption of a good story dumbed down based on what producers think viewers want. Going from depth to lack of depth within less than 15 episodes was like night and day . For me personally, the most annoying aspect had to be the unconvincing villains who seemed like they somehow came from a low budget television program created for 12 year old kids. The first third of this series was above average but sadly became completely cringe. I've dropped more series this year than I've completed for the same reason, they're awful, sadly this was no exception. These business models are failing the true audience of the genre.

Amazing chemistry!

I loved this, I really did. However, I have found the misunderstandings/miscommunication trope is not my favorite. This whole drama is based on that so if that is not your thing then don't watch.

Also, I lost count of which villain and storyline we were on.

But the CHEMISTRY. OMG I lived for the romance here. This cdrama has the most kissing/passion/steamy romance scenes I've seen in one yet.

Plus both of the leads are gorgeous to look at as well as the side people.

LASTLY, some of the xianxia dramas I can't get past when the people and swords start flying and it just looks cheesy and hilarious. This, however, was done right. Perfect costumes, perfect music, perfect fantasy elements that look super cool and not cheesy at all.

Although not perfect this one is DEFINITELY worth watching.

The chemistry is the best part of the whole show

I have a lot of things to say to this drama. Firstly, their chemistry is on fire 🔥 The way they look at eachother, their subtle gazes, the kiss 💋 anddd jaewon is soo cute.
The GOOD side characters I liked. Aeri, Joon pyo, surfing club president etc. I just feel like during some scenes Aeri and Joon Pyo kinda icked me out a bit? Like when mocking the drag person after the presentation. And when Joon Pyo kinda knows no boundaries during the start. But it's realistic, it just didn't really resonate with me. Surfing club president is sooo sweet. She does her best to liften the mood and all. I was also really impressed with the boss of Jihyun. She gave really good advice and was supportive overall.

Now for the flaws. What in the monstrosity is that pacing? Like lots of things just happened without any context. And alot of things weren't properly addressed or resolved. The colouring weirded me out for a bit during the middle, but after reading the comments it made sense and had depth. The bad characters are so one dimensional. Had a bad arc and disappointing consequences. I feel like the mental health issues of jaewon's are addressed just okay? Idk what to say since I never experienced depression before. Overall good chemistry, bad pacing

A Wicked Mess... Respectfully!

I know this one might be a little controversial because we’re talking about Daou and Offroad, but this series just wasn’t a favorite for me. I don’t know if I went in with really high expectations, if the show was overly hyped, or if I just expected more because the main leads are such a power couple. But overall, the story felt boring at times — it kept repeating the same beats: the brothers’ power struggle, the father who doesn’t care, and the same emotional cycles over and over. I honestly feel the script could’ve been much stronger.

The actors, as always, did a great job portraying their characters, even though some of them lacked real growth or development. And shoutout to Tongtong, I really liked his character. At some point, I was more invested in Jet and Park’s relationship. Their chemistry was so palpable through the screen. I wish the show had given us their backstory: Where does Park’s devotion toward Jet come from? Does he love him like a brother, a lover, a friend? No doubt he cherished him deeply.

Another thing that bothered me was the so-called “father.” He is literally the root of why the siblings hate or resent one another. And I say “resent” because there were moments where it felt like the rivalry between the brothers was actually jealousy planted by Jet’s mother and reinforced by a father who refused to be a real dad to Pheem.

And then there’s Risa… girl, what is your actual problem? You clearly have the brains to manage a company. If your dad doesn’t see it, prove him wrong and go start your own business. But okay, I get it — it’s all for the plot.

I will say, for me, Pheem was mean all the way until the end. He put Than through so much, despite constantly saying he was done hurting him. Right now, in the Thai BL world, he holds the spot for the most toxic main character. Again, the actors did a good job, but something in the story just lacked overall.

For me, Daou and Offroad’s chemistry definitely carried the show.

Ending was stupid.

I was so annoyed how bad guy knows exactly where they are and somehow gets them.
The cop gets killed out of blue, they show him to us for few episodes and then dies off like that. The ending was stupid aswell, they literally killed all the kids off and then the swat came, what was the point?

A great conclusion to a great drama!

I was scared that the second half would be disappointing after the excellent first half. Fortunately that wasn't the case and the drama just got better with each episode.

Not to repeat my part 1 review but the cast is just perfect. Seoul was a good new character in the second half. I did like most characters more in this than the original but Professor was slightly better in the original, the acting was just something special. "Stockholm" :D was a character I liked more than I thought I would in this korean version. Her and Denver's character arcs and romance was super interesting and well written from start to finish.

I hoped for more action in my part 1 review and the drama delivered with a 6-episode run full of gunfights and extremely tense scenarios. I also hoped for more differences from the original and the drama delivered somewhat in that aspect too. I loved the unique twist in this with the partial Korea unification and its consequences. A huge difference is also the ending that was much better in this Korean version. A massive bonus is also that it ended where it should and had a satisfying conclusion (unlike the original that continued for multiple unnecessary seasons, ugh). The totally not Kherson, Ukraine ending scene was silly but that can be forgiven.

I'm glad I decided to watch this because it did justice to the spanish original, which in itself also has excellent writing and acting and made the korean adaptation possible. My only one small criticism (and personal issue with the drama) is:
The professor was not as great as in the original and I was slightly annoyed with the character at some points. Still liked the character and acting overall but not as much as the other characters (Berlin being my favorite in this AND the original).

--------------
A must-watch for all K-drama enjoyers! A perfect combination of action, thriller, and romance that keeps the great quality from the first second to the last. This is a great watch even having seen the original!

A Delightful If Belated Coming-Of-Age Romance/Comedy

I'm genuinely surprised by the number of negative reviews this has gotten so far. For me, it's easily in my top 10 list of BL's ever. To me it's a (somewhat belated, perhaps) coming-of-age comedy/romance that is like spun sugar--incredibly sweet, heartfelt, funny and touching. Yes, the production values are minimalist, but that works perfectly here, as there's no need for grand sets or big action scenes. All of the actors are superb, but Jung Su Bin easily steals the show with the most expressive (and hilarious) facial expressions I've seen in a long time. The few moments when is is experiencing consternation about something just make me burst out laughing, actually. So the basic story is that a very sweet and kind young man who's somehow never even had a date in his life suddenly finds himself the object of desire of three incredibly handsome, desirable men, all while he's going through the midst of a major life upheaval. And because he's so kind, he becomes afraid not just of getting hurt, but of hurting someone. The ending is nearly perfect, with a touch of bittersweet for the two who lose out to their love rival, but Yoo Do Ha finally grows up with his first kiss, boyfriend and romance. I really can't recommend this one highly enough for someone just looking for something light, sweet, romantic and very funny.

Good one

Starlit Bloom begins with a one-night stand between two people. The leads spend one night together as strangers, and their paths cross several times afterward. Eventually, the male lead discovers that the woman he has been searching for for a long time is none other than the same person with whom he spent that night. A small misunderstanding separates them, but the male lead’s true and unwavering love melts her heart, and they end up living happily ever after.

It is a lightweight drama with not many conspiracies, and it includes a few romantic scenes that may give you goosebumps.

Wicked Just for You — because someone had to suffer.

This drama was the narrative equivalent of rubbernecking a train wreck — grotesque, chaotic, and somehow impossible to look away from. I don’t know why I sat through this drama; it felt like forcing myself to chew through charred bread while my brain screamed “just stop,” but my eyeballs refused to comply.

The central relationship — a non-blood sibling bond — could have been compelling if framed with nuance. Instead, it’s a mess wrapped in a marketing lie. The so-called “progressive” sibling dynamic leans more into toxic gaslighting than the nurturing that I expected. I could have bought this Kool-Aid if the fiancé had been the actual abuser and the brother the protective buffer — but no, we get gaslighting packaged as growth and a female lead whose metaphorical blindness is so unearned you start wondering if the script misplaced her character arc.

Why doesn’t Seo Jin marry her endlessly forgiving fiancé? Why is she so predictably, stupidly not choosing Min Woo? And speaking of Min Woo, he’s the only likeable human in this circus. By episode thirty, I’m shipping Seojin and Min Woo just to preserve my sanity. Did I not already say Min Woo’s the best??

And to top it off, the production isn’t any better. Technical execution only compounds the mess. Continuity errors abound — glasses on and off in the same scene, “rich” characters recycling the same outfits for days, exaggerated acting that borders on parody. Even the blood that came out of noses started effervescing. Likewise, some sequences border on the absurd -- a guy dragged to jail tied with rope, and another poor dude sent to the hospital twice in a row like he’s on a loyalty punch card.

Except for Min Woo, every character feels like a caricature rendered in a crayon. In the end, this drama isn’t the worst rendition of its trope, but it’s certainly borderline. I endured it, but only as one endures a spectacle of failure — not for resonance, not for legacy, but because sometimes you can’t look away from a dumpster fire.

A coming of age story done right.

Highschool themed dramas are a rare watch for me these days. So i was pleasantly surprised that a teen led kdrama which is also a webtoon adaptation managed to amaze me this much!!

This show's greatest strength is definitely the cast as well as the characters. Not one boring or dull character to watch. Of course not every single one had a complete arc in this show but that may be due to the fact that this is a webtoon adaptation and could possibly have more seasons *wink wink* anyhow the cast for spirit fingers club/group really did well portraying their individual characters well. I rarely find myself wishing for something fictional to be real and in this instance, the spirit fingers club is one of them. It feels so heartwarming to see this found family type of setting that really helped nurture the growth of the FL so much!

I def think the romance in this is so darn cute i couldn't help but squeal !! I love the dynamic between the two leads and their awkward and angsty tension with romance. I have been CONVINCED to read the webtoon asap so i get to see their romantic development for a while as i'm a slow reader and it would be fun to witness their romantic development.

If i have to convince anyone to watch this drama, i'd just say that it's probably one of the best dramas i've seen this year and probably the only school drama i've enjoyed thoroughly in a long time.

I like the chemistry between the leads

Kissing the Ring Finger” is a light-hearted drama that goes smoothly up to the first eight episodes. Only the last two episodes are a little emotional because of the male lead’s mother’s conspiracy, but even that is resolved beautifully.
It’s nice that the entry of two new people in their lives does not create much ruckus. Their true love for each other gives them the strength to confront his mother, and the drama ends happily.

What do you call a romantic makjang comedy?

🔔 I have edited the progressive review into this final version. Enjoy!

I was genuinely excited about this show. Its premise sounds delicious. It is a little bit naughty. That's the special sauce of a good rom-com, right? ;)

In the end, I'm conflicted. There are more lows than highs. I'm sorry that this review will be a bit ranting. I really wanted to like this drama, yet I walked away disappointed.

Like many k-dramas, it starts well. The attraction between our leads is strong. They are motoring along as you do in holiday romances. So far, so swoon-y.

The FL had to lie to get her first decent job. It wasn't a simple white lie either. Heck no! She went from a bachelorette to a married woman with a young son. Snap!

It was audacious, but she is desperate. She needed the money to help her mum so I'll give her a hall pass. It is not the lie that is the core issue here. It is the fallout and the characters interplay that are much more problematic.

The FL is portrayed as a loser from the start. I have no problem cheering on an underdog. Unfortunately, while her work life is forging ahead, her private life is tanking. She is weak and did nothing when she knew her deeds are harming others. A simple mea culpa would have turned the tide and she'll win the handsome guy.

To be fair, this is not helped by the ML falling deeply in love. He is obsessed. He is torn between doing the right thing and going postal. His pain is palatable. It is basically schadenfreude, forget rom-com.

It is a witches brew of cliché subplots by mid show. It is draggy and full of relationship red flags. It doesn't beat around the bush, it is a whole garden maze.

Speaking of red flags, I can't ignore the behaviour of the SML. He is the FL's bestie for 20 years. It is obvious that he has a crush on the FL. When the FL asked him to play her husband at work he took full advantage. He’d sidle up to her and gets all handsy. The FL has no choice but to play along meekly. She looked so uncomfortable. This is messed up.

But wait . . there's more! Here comes the SFL!

She falls for the SML at first sight. She took the effort to get close to his young son and suss out his life story. It was shady but you can roll with it. What is less forgivable is when she starts to blackmail him to go on dates with her to keep his secret. C'est l'amour?

All told, the ML spends several eps close to his breaking point. He wants to protect the FL, yet he wants the "married" woman even more. It was torturous to watch. So many people are hurting. It was a League of Sufferers™.

The ML even plans to drag the SFL into a loveless marriage just so that he can "protect" the FL. When did it ever worked? This triggered his fragile mum as well.

It is all sunshine and unicorns after the truth comes out around ep.9. The tonal shift is dramatic. This only serves to highlight the pointlessness of the preceding eps.

The show is largely on cruise control heading into the home straight. It was borderline sugar overload, but I'll take it after all the makjang shenanigans. That is until the angst train hit us again. We have the whole hit parade of angsty devices plus a break-up with bonus Noble Idiocy. What fun!

No sooner did we get some resolution and let out a collective sigh of relief, did the writer-nim brought forth the Big White Truck of Doom™ . . I mean a big black limo. But wait, there is more! The OG amnesia trope. (Sigh) There is so much going on yet it feels . . formulaic, stale.

The ending is predictable and artificially sweetened. All the threads are tied up with pink bows. I don't want to call it lazy writing . . but if the shoe fits.

The sad fact is that the production quality is not bad, it has potential. The acting is decent in general even though most characters are straight out of central casting. There is a nugget of good idea at its core, it just got workshopped to death over time. Peace.

P.S. the cameo of the $1 Lawyer is a surprise bonus. Is this a hint?

I'd dare say this is one of the best dramas of 2025

While this drama might not be everyone's cup of tea, this drama sure has one of the best structures when it comes to writing and executing the plot. Sure there might be quite a few plot holes but you can barely notice it unless you have been studying and watching a hundred dramas like me.

This is where most tools are used properly, the misunderstanding, the amnesia, the characters being manipulated by someone in the background. There was no waste on any tools that were used in this drama because all of them served their purpose.

And honestly, this is the first drama in years where i was surprised by the plot twist and that is really impressive. As a writer, I can almost always smell a plot twist miles ahead but this drama caught me off guard. I did not expect the plot twists that they revealed at those exact moments.

Again watch at your own pace, this might not be the drama for you right now but if you think about it in the future and wanna give it a go then do so. This is not a drama where you can comprehend at one part of your life. There's so much underlying and story between the lines where you can only appreciate if you're at that part of your life.

Would wanna watch it again.

More like “Wandered-Land of Love"

The drama opens with a spark that immediately pulls you in—the banter between Li Ni and Cui Lin is sharp, witty, and exhilarating. Their battle of wits sets the tone for a promising start, and I found myself leaning forward, eager to see who would outmaneuver the other. The dynamic between them is one of the strongest aspects of the show. And look, I’ll admit it — I was probably a little biased. I found myself rooting for Li Ni more than I should’ve, even though half the time I wanted to smack Cui Lin for torpedoing his plans. But to be fair, she wasn’t wrong. Their clash stems from different goals, and that tension is what makes their early interactions so compelling.

Unfortunately, about a third of the way in, the momentum falters. Li Ni’s choices start to feel questionable, driven more by emotion than strategy. I get it — he was never the “conquer the world” type and didn’t have that ruthless drive—but when you’ve got an entire faction depending on you, a little more grit would’ve been nice. His lackadaisical approach becomes frustrating. The fatigue set in for me here, as the narrative lost the sharp edge it had in the beginning.

What really pushed my patience, though, was his father, the ultimate poster child for ungrateful dead weight. Li Ni literally risks everything to save this useless man, only for dear old dad to turn around and shower affection on his incompetent, shameless sons instead. That was the moment my eyebrows permanently migrated north.

By the time the drama heavily leaned into its romantic subplot, I was done. The lovey-dovey couple moments were so cloying they felt like toothaches, and I couldn’t push through the cringe. Despite a strong start and flashes of brilliance in the character dynamics, Wonderland of Love ultimately lost me before the finish line.

Industry drama

Credit where credit is due, there was no feeling between the characters when the show first started, but through the storytelling of the characters getting to know each other and showing more of their personalities and dedication to acting, the connection and chemistry grew. That's how it should be even if it wasn't the case for a good story. Usually the bangs in the eyes styling is very annoying to look at, but the hair stylists styled it just right to convey vulnerability. It's seems to be a signature stylized feather look like Jin's occasional angel wings.

Other than Jin creepily kissing and taking pictures of an ill and unconscious man continuing portray those red flag actions as cute, his immense crush and adoration for Akin is actually pretty sweet. Akin navigates being the ultimate professional to his craft and also dealing with with threats of losing his career. Jin is really down bad that he still lovingly cleans Akin after the latter got sick all over the both of them. The smells must have been atrocious but Jin happily cleans away. It's interesting that this Thai series looks to be based on a Japanese work that gets the delectable angst of Chinese costume martial arts dramas spot on. It's so funny that they even get the wounds only having the nonsensically tiniest splash of blood right. It's strange that the show treats Akin like he's 50 years old. He's only in his late 20's, he shouldn't be confused about livestreams and other typical social media promotional etiquette.

Ironically, I was thinking that Jin didn't get any of that honey because they didn't bother to mix it in the water after dripping some into the mug, but soon after he gets a whole body's worth, the amount that's not soiling that white fur rug anyways. It makes no sense how neither their skin or hair is all sticky and all the furniture ruined the next morning, unless the honey was imaginary. The shower version looks torturous also. I get them trying to be creative, but water doesn't get hot that fast so it must be freezing cold at first blast. The break up sex was an attempt at angst. I don't think the execution was successful, but I appreciate the thought process and attempt. Jin acted cold and angry, but it seemed to just be an act to keep Akin in the dark about Jin's true machinations to help Akin. This is a bit weird, Akin almost fully sacrificed himself if the broadcast where Jin enacts his scheme right before Akin does his noble idiot plan because he didn't just tell him he has an alternate plan.

Poor Akin was made to believe he had sex with, but really in context is that he may have been raped by his co-star after he got blitzed out drunk. It's pretty terrifying to think how many times it might have happened before without Akin even knowing if he's so incapacitated when he drinks. It's so utterly tragic that Akin can only think that he's guilty towards Jin when he's a victim. Aside from a bad co-star, Akin also has to deal with a creepy sasaeng. This man just keep getting tortured. The sasaeng needed to go straight to jail, but I think the show is trying not to alienate the bl fandom which does encourage the kind of obsession, which is very uncomfortable. The photos she took still got to be used to blackmail him and he tries the noble idiot trope. Akin is a great actor, but he's no good at being cunning. Good thing his boyfriend is a crafted a smart plan with Judy to double kill their rumors together. It's supposed to be a custom ring that Akin for Jin, but it looks pretty loose in the close up. Prop department could have done better. I knew there would be marriage at the end since the years were counting up to current day. It's beautiful that the legalization of gay marriage is a benchmark in time for these queer love stories.

It's tragic that the company sabotage depicted in this series also happened in real life and affected the actors and the entire production. It would truly a shame that there may be no further continuation in either a special episode or season of this story as it looked like it was set up to have. I hope the situation will somehow, some way be resolved well for the actors and production team who really did seem to put their efforts into this drama.
