Just absolutely awful
I hate any show that sags in the middle because of poorly written "misunderstandings" and k dramas have this EXACT problem in spades. It is so frustrating to spend HOURS of my life watching people deliberately have shit conversations all because of some contrived drama and it's not even dramatic; it irritates the hell out of me. BAD WRITING ALL AROUND, people should lose their jobs over this. what could have been like 12 episodes too FOREVER AGAIN because crap writers did crap writing. absolutely horrific. the story is fine, except for the middle which as ALWAYS in k dramas dragged it out to more hours than is reasonable. F you for wasting my time.hold on, i gave it a second chance, like 5 or 6 good episodes in the beginning maybe 2 or 3 good episodes at the end. that means of 24 episodes well more than half were absolute GARBAGE. terrible show, made me want to eat glass.

Headache!!!!!
I don't even know what to say. All i really wanted out of this season was some answers and i got none. All i got was a Headache and heartache. High and low blood pressure but i will still watch whatever is next because i want ANSWERS. I hope whatever comes next is much better than this, i also hope Jay Jay chooses none of them. 5/10 i won't watch season 2 again But season 1 was still good. Was this review helpful to you?
cute
okay, now this is one of the best asian bl i've seen so far. i admit i have not seen that many, but there were always quite serious problems that i had with the other ones, or the chemistry between the leads was not believable...here the leads are adorable. they come across very human, very grounded in their own ways, also just super nice to look at, there's an almost perfect contrast in how they look and at the same time or maybe becasue of that they fit together very well, aestetically and of course personality wise. most of their their interactions are just beautiful. and then the friends omg... they stole my heart, how i wish there would be a spin off or an extra episode where they get together, it's literally going to become my idee fixee for a while, i can already feel it...
of course, as expected, there was some drama that was added purely for drama's sake, but the overall tone and themes of this show are surprisingly ummm normal? yeah, normal and quite realistically tackled in comparison to so many shows in this genre.

good chemistry with lackluster worldbuilding
Overall: I tried to review the series on its own merits instead of comparing it to the Thai adaptation or the source material. 10 episodes about 30 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/6221/the-boy-next-world-my-destiny-2026-e01 (not available in Japan)Content Warnings: past child abuse, past suicide, past harassment/bullying, past stalking, beaten up, stalking, dub con kiss, manipulation, slap, held against will
Watch Suggestions for episodes 8-10, 19-20:30
- skip episode 8
- episode 9 watch 7-10:30
- episode 10 watch 4-6:35 and 24:20-end
What I Liked
- mutual want
- supportive friends and brother
- the mom had some consequences
Room For Improvement
- the first episode is a bit confusing/choppy, but it settled down in the second episode, the finally explained things in episode 9
- didn't feel the side couple and the random supernatural power
- cliche wannabe girlfrend

Liked this more than the sequel. Soo cuteee
This was soo damn cuteđ„șâ€ïž watching this season where Jae hyeon was kinda a green flag waiting for U Jin to open up for them to date. Kinda gave prapai vibes from "love in the air" i just can't believe that 7 years later he changed soo much. Gaslighting U Jin, ignoring him and hurting himđđ..This is the 1st time I've seen a drama where the seme changes to the worse over the years and they still stay together.
When i saw the sequel i thought Ji Su had a crush on U Jin. Thankfully he's just a good friendâ€ïžâ€ïž ngl i loved thier friendship. Even after 7 years they stayed the same.

Gently toxic
One interesting creative choice in this series is that none of the three main characters is likable. Theyâre all toxic to varying degrees, which gives a certain charm to their interactions. The story strays a bit from the beaten path to explore emotions that are less conventional than usual. The three actors know their craft and deliver strong performances; itâs good casting. That said, even when the show surprises (in the script, the narrative, etc.), it never really takes risks â as if the viewer always has to stay on familiar ground. Thatâs somewhat unfortunate, because the series loses depth because of it. The ending is a good example: very conventional, and inevitably a bit disappointing. A little more boldness might have turned this good series into a very good one.

Going into Burnout Syndrome, I had high expectations. I loved director Nuchyâs previous series Not Me, which had the same main leads, and that show felt like it had so much to say: socially, politically, and emotionally. In comparison, Burnout Syndrome feels like a quieter, less confident project. Not bad, but definitely underdeveloped.Thatâs not to say I disliked the story. I actually appreciated the different perspectives the characters had on AI and the very real fear that it could replace artists, people who already struggle to make a living doing what they love. That theme had a lot of potential, but it never quite reached the depth it was aiming for.
Jira is a deeply flawed but understandable protagonist. Most of his questionable decisions stem from insecurity: about his talent, his future, and who he wants to be. He desperately wants to succeed as an artist and be admired for his work, but reality keeps reminding him how unforgiving that path can be. Heâs extremely passive, especially in his love life, and there were many moments where I wanted to scream at him to just make a decision already and to get his shit together. Still, that indecisiveness felt very real, with the constant battle between what feels right emotionally and what seems logical or safe.
Koh is one of the most underdeveloped antagonists Iâve seen in a long time, which is a shame because Off gives an absolutely phenomenal performance. This is easily one of his strongest roles. He makes Koh both infuriating and strangely compelling. You canât help but love and hate him at the same time. Unfortunately, the writing doesnât always support the performance. The show hints at his upbringing, especially his relationship with his mother, but itâs so vague that itâs hard to understand him, let alone root for him. He remains an asshole for most of the series and doesnât improve much by the end. Because of this, his relationship with Jira feels unearned, even though you already know that Jira will end up with him anyway. Iâm sure the novel fleshes him out far better, but within the series, it doesn't work as it should.
Now, I love Dew, and I really liked Pheem as a character, but I genuinely need people to stop wishing Jira would end up with him. They would never work. That said, Dew is excellent in this role. The lack of chemistry between Jira and Pheem felt intentional, and I found that fascinating. You can clearly see that Jira wants to want Pheem, but his heart just isnât there. Their dynamic was uncomfortable in a very realistic way, and it's one of the things in this series that I loved the most. The rage room scene, where Pheem finally explodes and smashes everything while yelling at Jira, was toxic, but also raw and emotional.
Ing and Mawin, played by Emi and AJ, were well-acted but painfully uninteresting. I love both actors, which made this even more frustrating. Their characters existed almost solely to give relationship advice and act as emotional outlets for Jira and Pheem. It felt like such a waste, especially since there was clearly potential to do more with them.
On a technical level, the series does well. I really liked the soundtrack, and the cinematography and overall aesthetics were pleasing. Also, kudos to the artist who painted all those paintings. They were amazing. Unfortunately, the story itself felt rushed and underdeveloped, even though it's still a slow-burn. It lacks momentum and emotional payoff. Burnout Syndrome has good ideas and some genuinely strong moments, but it never fully comes together.
It shouldâve been better â but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

Licking the boot of the capitalists
Note: I almost want to go lower, but there was some artistry present, which I cannot deny.I'm impressed . . .
With how disappointed I am.
The start was so strong, the cinematography consistently superb, and the dialogue snappy. But it was ultimately a steadily speeding, runaway train that made me feel burnt out by the end watching it!
Characters would say one thing with conviction in their eyes while doing another. Accountability or valuing yourself? Out of the question!
All I'm left asking is what a viewer is meant to glean from this?
Because here's what I got:
What even is freedom? Why strive and fight when you can just . . . Succumb. Lick the boot of the powerful capitalists above you with vigor and sacrifice your morality and passions for security and lust.
And, with all sincerity, I don't think that's what Burnout Syndrome meant to say in the end. Which means they completely failed in the execution of their message. And if it is . . . I can't find value in this.
I can't believe I'm saying this about an OffGun drama . . .
But I don't recommend it.

Decent First Ep
What should I say ,not bad for s First Episode but i couldn't connect with any Character as of now . (I am Immune to Cute Babies) But I think it has potential to be a Good Story(this type of Templates have been Successfull in the past so yea). As for Acting,The Baby Acts Better than Roh Jeong Eui , i don't have anything else to say . No need to Talk about ML since he's already established and good Actors .Chemistry/ Romance development between Leads :- as of Know it's in -ve , FL has Bad impression of ML and honestly ML ain't a asshole either .
Looking Forward

What was that?
The premise sounded promising. It started a bit messy but with some fun parts and well the chemistry between Max and Bin was there. That's why I continued to watch that series. But later on the story got even more messy. Consent who? Max didn't know that word. After that scene when Max was forcing himself on Bin, I didn't even want them to end up together. But oh well they did end up together... Even though I saw no significant change in Max. Also the ending made it feel like there will be a second season. Will I tune in? I doubt soWas this review helpful to you?
A Short-Drama Gem That Totally Surprised Me!
Iâll be honest: I went into Have A Crush On You with low expectations, but it turned out to be so much better than I anticipated! For a short-form C-drama, the production quality and chemistry were genuinely impressive. What really made it stand out was the pacing, the plot didn't drag for a second, and the episodes were just the right length (about 10-15 minutes each), keeping the story feeling fresh and super bingeable. If you're looking for a quick "contract marriage" fix with a kick-butt female lead, don't sleep on this one!Romance: 8/10
The chemistry between Lin Yumeng and Ji Lingsu is the heart of the show. It starts with hilarious bickering, but evolves into some surprisingly sweet and passionate moments that felt earned despite the short runtime. (I secretly wished their were more kiss scenes)
Storyline: 8/10
It hits all the classic tropes... forced proximity, contract marriage, and a protective ML, but executes them well. I loved that the FL can actually fight her own battles, which kept the dynamic interesting and balanced.
Acting: 8/10
The leads did a great job making their connection feel real. They played off each otherâs energy perfectly, making the transition from "fake" to "real" love very convincing.
OST: 7.5/10
The music was bubbly and matched the rom-com vibes perfectly. While it might not be a soundtrack Iâd listen to on repeat, it definitely enhanced the cute and emotional scenes.
Overall Score: 8.5/10
This is the perfect "palate cleanser" drama. Itâs fast-paced, high on the fluff, and proves that short-form dramas can deliver a complete and satisfying story without the filler!
If you are looking for another similar watch short c-drama, I recommend.....
Night of Love With You (2022)- This is a "meta" rom-com about a manga character who usually plays the "scheming second lead" but accidentally becomes the heroine of a new story.
Just Spoil You (2023)- A modern "reunited lovers" story about a manhua artist who returns to her home city with her son, only to run into her ex-boyfriend.

It had a huge potential but the end was rushed
Honestly I really liked the series's diversity. P'Nuchy is one of the very few directors who make original projects and don't copy what's already been here just with different cast and characters. I loved that the series brought awareness about AI and it's bad impact on the global environment and also how artist can hardly survive on selling their paintings no matter how talented they are because less and less people are willing to spend more money on such paintings and with AI it's killing this business completely. The acting was phenomenal here. I had no problem with that. The story was going well too but I was still disappointed at the end. I know gmmtv series hardly do sad/open endings at the end but since the story was rushed between Koh and Jira and such serious conflict wasn't properly resolved between them, it'd be far better if they just left it open. That time skip is kinda useless when we don't see how the characters put up with it and if they changed something about themselves during that time. They usually use time skips to make sense of the characters getting together at the end after break-up like in Last Twilight or ATOTS for example but it feels like something's missing there.I also hoped that Jira wouldn't be spineless when it came to his art. He kept defending it the whole time and it mattered more to him than his own body so seeing him selling his art to Koh at the end after Koh betrayed him by giving it to AI made me lose the remaining respect I had for him. I get he sold his AI which was actually developed by the employees whom he fired but he was still cocky about it even after he saw how much it hurt Jira as an artist... if Jira stood by his harsh words and didn't go back on it after some time passed, I'd have more respect for him.

It was good but ngl i hated Jae hyeon
It was a nice short drama. Can i say U jin is a pretty crier? Cz damn i cried everytime he criedđ . I've not watched the prequel yet so I'll review it solely on this season. It's nice that they showed love doesn't stay the same as years go by but i really think Jae Hyeon is a red flag. He is used to U Jin and doesn't love him anymore. Everything he said when they made up proved that. Also the way he ignored U Jin thinking he'd stay no matter what eventhough he was having thoughts of breakup instead of actually breaking up and gaslighting him. Nope no thank you.
U Jin is kinda dumb to go back to himđ he didn't do anything to make up for his mistakes. 1 gift which he didnt bother picking up himselfđ nah. I wanted an redemption arc but i get it, the drama is way too short to include that

The music playlist was my taste , it carry most of the storyline which is bad . I wanted to see passion , longing but they fail to deliver . If it was a book I would have enjoyed it more .
