Perfect rom-com with a side of royalty and politics

The story was very strong in the 1st half and was a classic rom-com well done but I felt the last 2-4 eps were a bit rushed. I have no complaints on the romance and chemistry with Byeon Wooseok and IU as well as their characters themselves. IU was no damsel in distress and fights back as the FL which is refreshing and Ian shows his vulnerability and is not just the hero who is invincible and saves the day always. The PM being a villain and his reason was really disappointing seeing how he was such an upright person at the start. He became such a loser and bitter person when he was actually cool in the beginning like he really fell off. The queen mother though was a pleasant surprise because I really felt for her as a woman who had to give up a lot of things just to please her family. Her comeback arc was something I was totally not mad about as Ian's nephew would really be heartbroken if he lost his mother too. Yi An and his nephew's relationship was really cute so I'm glad it didn't get ruined by the end because of this. One thing, I would have liked to see though is Ian and Huiju having a kid of their own or getting married again properly but I'm just glad it's a ending where Byeon Wooseok's character doesn't die and IU's is finally happy lol (iykyk) 😜

After watching this, I have realized too what Perfect Crown means. Yi An embodies this title as he is the only royal who thinks about the people of the nation and gave them the right to vote and make the choice for their country which is to abolish the monarchy. He knows firsthand that having a constitutional monarchy is a problem with how it is being abused by nobles who think they are above the law. Loosely based on history instead of Korea having monarchy be abolished due to Japan, Yi An is the one who gave the power back to the people by basically making the country have a parliamentary democracy (no president shown so I guess they only replaced the prime minister instead of having a president).

Overall, a 9.5 for the acting, chemistry, locations and OST were all so good 💯

A royal contract marriage with perfect visuals

This was a long anticipated drama for me! Did I expect it to be better? Maybe a little, but honestly I still liked it a lot. It may not become one of my all-time favorite dramas, but I definitely consider it a very decent and enjoyable watch. I have a soft spot for royal dramas and contract marriages, so this was already a combination I was bound to enjoy.

There were many comments about Byeon Woo-seok’s acting, but personally I think he did a very decent job, and IU is always a rom-com queen to me. Their chemistry was also very nice — not overly explosive to the point where dating rumors would overshadow the drama, but natural and comfortable. They genuinely seemed to get along well on screen.

I also loved the second couple and the aides; they were such a sweet and refreshing presence throughout the story. I’m especially happy that Hui Ju’s relationship with her father and brother became warmer by the end. Not perfect — because that would honestly feel unrealistic after everything — but definitely healthier and more heartfelt. Ironically, in When Life Gives You Tangerines IU played a daughter with one of the warmest father-daughter relationships ever, while here they practically felt like enemies for most of the drama 😭 I also loved the relationship between her brother and sister-in-law; they were genuinely sweet together.đŸ©·

Now about the villains: the Queen Mother did terrible things for most of the story, and for a long time her intentions were difficult to understand. At least by the end she showed remorse and some emotional growth. That doesn’t suddenly make her a good person, but it makes her feel more human and layered. People are rarely completely good or completely bad, and I appreciated that complexity. Even in episode 12 she’s still demanding as a mother, but at least there was some progress.

The one character I really couldn’t justify was the Prime Minister. He was a true villain, and I honestly expected a stronger explanation for his actions than simply “don’t drag Seong Hui Ju into this.” Like
why exactly? She was never his in the first place 😭 He knew her for 30 years and still ended up destroying everything because of his obsession? I needed more depth there.

I liked the overall story and especially the idea of the Crown Prince wanting to live more like a normal person and eventually stepping down from the crown. Also, can we talk about the Iloom advertisement scene I laughed so hard because it instantly reminded me of the original ad with Byeon Woo-seok and Chae Soo-bin — especially the table in the rain đŸ€Ł

And honestly, Byeon Woo-seok looked his best in episode 12. He was handsome throughout the drama of course, but the casual styling suited him so much more than the royal outfits. Visually, he and IU were also a gorgeous pairing.

Overall, I’m glad I watched this drama and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something mostly light and entertaining, while still touching on heavier emotional themes at times.

Nothing but disappointed again

"Perform Crowd Story looks so unique and interesting, but after watching the whole series, I became disappointed. What are the directors and writers doing? First Gennie Make a Wish, then Twelve, then Can This Love Be Translated, then Boyfriend on demand and now Perfect Crown đŸ«€ They are just making dramas with the help of actor-actress popularity for profit, nothing else.
Perfect Crown had a unique storyline, but in the end they just made it a romance drama. What can they do? Romance ruined everything. Anyway, some people are loving this series because of the cast, and they should — why not 🙂
Note: Writers should take enough time for the story; otherwise, they will keep doing this in the future like they have been doing from 2025 until now."

BROKEN OF LOVE — A Story That Will Stay In Our Hearts Forever ?

And just like that
this is the end of Arisa & Lalin’s story.
We lived through their pain, happiness, and every emotional moment of their journey đŸ„čđŸ€

Thank you, Faye, for this incredible series.
This gift is something we as Fayemily will always cherish,
and BROKEN OF LOVE will forever have a special place in our hearts ✹

Congratulations on this well-deserved success.
The series was amazing in every sense of the word, You didn’t only succeed as the lead actress in front of the camera, but also as the producer behind it in your very first production experience — and you were truly impressive đŸ€

You created an original story that wasn’t adapted from a novel, filled with details and emotions that genuinely touched all of us. The cinematography, directing, lighting, music, and OSTs were all beautifully done with so much care and passion.

You also managed to gather an incredible cast.
Every single actor delivered an outstanding performance 👏

And for Atom
 truly, well done đŸ˜đŸ€
For this to be your first acting experience and for you to perform with such natural emotions, strength, and smoothness — you really did an amazing job.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys non-traditional GL stories, not just ones focused purely on romance.
This series is full of different emotions and experiences that make you feel something new with every episode ✹

masterpiece one of the best xianxias

ok lets start with the chemistry between luo yunxi and bai lu, literally romeo and juliet, ofc they have a 2nd drama, their relationship went like enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers to death and he loved her and never gave up on her throughout the whole story even when li susu/ ye xiwu “betrayed” him unconditional love at its finest and how they were also lovers in their past lives, taking abt their past lives, chef’s kiss, i cried so hard when cdl’s character killed her clan and how she misunderstood luo yunxi’s character, making her hate him and he still ended up sacrificing himself for her. needless to say this drama had so many misunderstandings i couldnt count them on my fingers+toes i dropped this when li susu came back to her tine and pretended not to know tan taijin like just talk bro and when she finally accepted him, he became the demon king and had to act like one, he made her hate him again and ended up sacrifing himself for her AGAIN i was bawling my eyes out at least 5 times throughout this whole drama. and pianran and ye xiwu’s brother (i forgot his name), i wish they had a happy ending i absolutely loved pianran and xiwu never found out that she died?? also when xiwu’s brother was revealed to be reborned as a king (or something i forgot) i wish they couldve met so badly. ok lets talk abt chen duling’s characters now, literally the perfect villain and its lowk justified sometimes i have no words she pulled this off so well. ok now to bailu’s acting, whenever she cries i cry it always feels so authentic i have no words and the osts??? all of them hits the spot right i have no words this drama is an absolute masterpiece

Wasted potential

This drama had the potential to be my nezt comfort rom-com, but the writers decided to fumble so hard in the last 4 episodes. It's a mystery to me how almost every kdrama starts off so good then goes down hill halfway through the drama.
I had such a great time watching the first 8 episodes. The plot also seemed light hearted and fun. The writers should've just focused on the rom-vom aspect of the drama, the moment they tried the political arc they failed miserably.
IU and BWS were a delight to watch. Loved their chemistry and how there was no miscommunication. They were very open and straight forward.
Queen mother pissed me off so much and she got away with everything, like BFR?????? She was a literal abuser. The little kid was traumatized by her. She didn't even think before asking to burn down her sons door. She practically killed the late king.
Jinmu aka Lord inpyeong was the most underwhelming villian I have ever watched. His role was so minor and his punishment was even more underwhelming.
PM Min was the worst written character and his downfall wasn't satisfying at all. He committed so many evil, yet remained arrogant until the end and had the audacity to blame I-AN.
Overall I had fun watching this drama, but I wouldn't rewatch it.

Romance, Royalty, and Wait
 What?

From the jump, this romcom boasts a clever, contemporary setup—a fictional Korea with a constitutional monarchy, where a chaebol heiress is rich in everything but status and a grand prince brings only a title to the table. With just 12 episodes, the story keeps things moving with brisk energy and zero filler, making the early chapters especially bold, sleek, and downright entertaining.

Visually, everything feels polished and intentional, from the elevated sets to a wardrobe department that dresses the characters for their world rather than for sponsorship deals. Casting is just as strong. The leads deliver, the supporting cast adds texture, and the guest appearances from Im Chul Soo, Kim Dae Gon, and Yoon Byung Hee make the idea of a Castle Beauty spinoff feel oddly necessary. The female lead’s family dynamic is another highlight, especially the tangled father-daughter relationship and the half-brother who steals the press conference spotlight. Butler Kim, meanwhile, remains the ensemble’s secret weapon—part butler, part stylist, part emotional support system.

As the series moves into its second half, that early momentum starts to work against it. The plot pushes ahead so quickly that many of its most promising dynamics end up feeling both underexplored and underexplained. Political turns and character motivations—especially after the leads marry—grow increasingly vague. Major developments like the queen’s abrupt redemption, the sudden push to abolish the monarchy, and the Prime Minister’s change of heart all arrive with dramatic weight but not enough narrative groundwork. And for a heroine initially defined by her ego, ambition, and willingness to fight for the prince, it’s oddly frustrating to watch both leads become so reactive in the face of escalating threats.

In the end, this series offers plenty to enjoy—sleek visuals, contemporary flair, understated humor, a romance anchored by two appealing leads, and a cast that brings its world to life. But underneath the glossy finish, there's a sense that the narrative could have used a little more breathing room and intention. In the end, this feels like a 14-episode drama squeezed into 12—still entertaining, but a little too eager to rush past its own best ideas.

The Wonderfools Controversery

People are criticizing saying it's over chaotic seeing Eunbin's acting, but look at the title of the drama, named itself is The Wonderfools....u guys didn't realize they were being fool all time...cz these are the characters......&... Cha Eunwoo played non chalant before too,but on this... it's truly like he's the character for real.... He'll definitely get praise for his acting, with Eunbin's chaotic act, and his opposite acting balanced really well.... I laughed many where,I didn't except the storyline would be like this...I have watched 4 eps binge, and I can't stop really.... it's so dragging........ I'll update my review later....

Again very very overhyped...

The problem with many thai shows is, they try to wrap very dark themes into a comedy and I don't like it. Not everything must be funny or everything must have a cushion to protect the viewers from sad realities. And why is "Sammy" always cast as a comic relieve? Her friendship (and the friendship of the other teacher) would have had so much more impact if this role would have been serious.

For Santa this must be have fun even when he had to portrait two characters. I would think this is a challenge actors gladly take to improve their acting overall. Also Perth did a good job. Production quality was high, at least there was nothing to complain about.

I had my troubles getting into the series... the start was very weak but the longer the series run the better it got. That's a big difference compared to many other GMMTV shows which start strong and then falling off a cliff. But it's still not enough to hype this series to a 9 or even 10... For me this show is better than average but still not good enough. It could have been so much better but as usual GMMTV fails to put a serious drama on air, especially when such a theme comes with the warning of the start of every episode and a help line for people in mental duress.

Perfect Crown an imperfect tale about love like a sole amber in the dark.

The generational trauma ended with Wan's decision. A title can be a trap when you are a revolutionary at heart. Loved the relationships of the drama, the loyal attendants of Wan, the assistants, the step sibling couple. I could understand Huiju's dad too, he saw both of his kids support each other when they needed each other the most putting aside their rivalry and that is all that matters, love beyond the facade of fame and money.
It's the love in the relationships we see and the actors who portray that love so beautifully that makes the drama special. The love and care of attendants who become family, the love of a guilty dad, love of two similar pure hearted people, love that doesn't need affectionate words or label, even a step sibling and sister in law can love just as much as a parent, in their own slightly unhinged way, love of a mother who realises the strength that her child has hidden inside of him. Love that's hidden in a rebel who withstood the test of times.
Wan was righteous from the get go and that's so beautiful. I hate that the writer reduced Min to a petty jealous villain when the chess scene set him up to be a calculating person. I'd have liked it better if it was just his excuse that he did it for Huiju but his main motive was the power and control he craved that his seat in the Cabinet provived over the nation and the crown. It helped him see himself beyonf his inferiority complex that he harboured ever since school days but he could never say it out loud beacause of the power dynamics of Ian being a royal and his dad being someone who loyally serves the crown which cost him his life in the accident where the queen died. So that made him hungry to run the scenes from his seat and validate his feelings as the crown was merely the puppet ofnthe cabinet. That would have been so much better for the story. I guess thats all you can fit in a 12 ep format. Maybe 14 ep could have cleared a lot of stuff like who killed the queen as it was hinted that it wasn't an accident?. Who set fire during Yun's bday banquet? What did Ian and his brother talk about before his wedding day that led to the fight? At last his elder brother was set up as a coward and pretty 1 dimensional. Atleast show us how heir dad fed into him too that he had to be the king as the eldest son. So he did die accidentally in the fire that Irang set right?

Worth a one-time watch if you are in the mood for it

I just finished this show and I kinda like it. I watched it all fast and back to back cause it don’t have anything that engaging (in a good way) there are no complicated plots and plot twists, there are no love triangle or stuff like that. Just couples that like each other and have fun together And help each other through life. It’s not an outstanding show that you watch and say wow. But it’s a show that you will definitely enjoy if you just want to watch something lovey dovey. I would recommend the show to be watched if you are in the mood of something that you turn your brain off and watch
Overally I liked the show and imo it worth a one time in a correct time. Objectively I’ll give it 7/10 but subjectively I’ll give it 8/10 because of the romance the whole story in general

This might be the best xianxia ever

The story of how everything was planned by the actual devil lord was so amazing, like all the yearning, love, hatred, emotions was all part of the experience and planned just for tantai jin to become devil lord. Worth the watch 10/10 for me. I also think the casting was so great like luo yunxi and bailu fit this role so much. I would say the first 10 eps are a bit slow but its worth it all.

BL Or Not

BL or Not..this is a gem!

Brilliant series....Acting Top Tier. The chemistry between the leads is off the charts, and the storyline, though simple in concept, is executed with such emotional depth and nuanced storytelling. It's a show that stays with you long after the credits roll, making it a truly special viewing experience.

Definitely worth watching.

This was not Only Friends, this was a disaster

I absolutely loved OFTS and was excited when OFDO was announced. I regret it now.

Not a single right thing about this, maybe except casting AouBoom and letting Mark Pakin write the BostonNick scene.

They labeled this Only Friends and that's what I expected - the mess, the chaos, crazy hook ups, no boundaries, lot of borderline illegal issues. But I never got anything like that. That crazy mess was the charm of OFTS. As some lovely moot on Tumblr.com said, it was not about finding the goodest character, it was about picking your favorite asshole and rolling with it.

The problem of OFDO is that the characters are shallow, they have nothing going on and you don't develop any strong emotions towards them. I only somehow liked RomeRaffy, but not because they would be written that well, but because AouBoom did pure magic when they brought them to life on screen. But I gotta admit, they also have decent development going on and grow as characters, though the writing was very questionable (like why did we not get the scene where Rome tells Raffy about Pete???). It only kind of scares me, that RomeRaffy as we know them weren't the original plan. This series would be so much worse if AouBoom weren't here. Because honestly, RomeRaffy in AouBoom's hands had the biggest Only Friends potential had they been given the proper script. They had the tension, the chemistry, and definitely could pull the angst and more fights, were they given the chance.

Arnold and Tua are empty shells, they have nothing going on and hell, how I wish I would actually love them, because I am a big fan of JG. But they fell so out of place in this series, as if they took their part of the script from different series. Especially Arnold was so empty, we know nothing about him even after the 12 eps, hell we never even get to see his place and only characteristics he got was that he is kind and gets along with everyone. Tua is not much better, but we got to actually see his house and had some more character shown when he exploded and broke up with Arnold and kicked Dean out.

Jack and Dean are just awful people (and terribly written too) that did not have any character development and I was forced to believe they just happen to get together because love? It's so upseting because they were the centerpiece in this season. But no matter what they went through, they did not learn anything or grew as people. Dean showed biggest development when he geniunely apologized to Tua. But that not explains anything that happened with Jack. They just got back to square one. I will admit, I haven't seen any EarthMix work before this, but I can tell they are hella good actors (the scene in the gallery/ex exhibition was strong and emotional, though still a waste for this trash series) but the writers didn't do them justice. I understand they were very likely supposed to reflect TopMew from OFTS, but TopMew had character development and it made sense why Mew ended up forgiving Top. But that did not work with Jack and Dean. For a second they got me hoping they won't end up together, but of course, that can't happen because some people apparently are sensitive snowflakes.

Regarding that I also have to say I did not get why we had to see JackDean delivering the flowers or dealing with Dao (Dean's sister), because it did not move the story anywhere and it was just waste of our time (I mean, the whole series kinda was, but this was extra waste).

They also totally failed to connect the couples, like they did in OFTS. Mew, Ray and Ton were friends. Sand and Nick were friends. Top and Ton had history. Boeing connected Ton, Sand and Top. The whole cheating plot was TonTop sleeping together, Nick wiring the car, showing the recording to Sand, who passed it to Ray, who passed it to Mew, that caused the fight. But it also distanced RaySand because Ray thought Mew might give him a chance. It was all connected and that's why we got enough screen time for all.

In OFDO, they kept the couples separated. Yes, Rome and Jack are step brothers and Tua and Dean are friends, but the first thing barely played any role in this and the second was only used for the fight. Other than that the couples were always hanging out together and barely had scenes with others (maybe only during the play part and when it wall all of them). But the story didn't connect them so nicely like it happened in OFTS.

I also want to specifically talk about Ton. I am Ton lover. I love him and I will defend him forever. I was very excited about his return. But if you promise me Ton level of chaos, you better fucking deliver it. There was nothing of that. And hear me out, I woudn't mind this shift if they gave us the TonNick scene earlier, because Ton changing his attitude after seeing how much Nick was hurt by him would make so much sense. But what we learned from him was that he slept around in NY and it got boring there, so he went back to Thailand because in his opinion, Thai dudes are more fun to sleep with. That sounds like the same old Ton to me. But then he backs off the first chance he gets.

Which brings me to another big problem. They wouldn't let actors kiss outside of the official couples. TonTua, ArnoldTon, TonRaffy, JackRaffy, RomePete, ArnoldDean, GameplayDean ... why didn't we get these kisses? I know for sure the actors wouldn't mind (literally the reason Neo doesn't have fixed partner is because he likes to be open to anything), it's the creative team's choice. It would work much more if the kisses actually happened. Every scene of these not-kisses just felt like a slap into my face. And like it makes you not even believe in anything outside of the official couples, when they are visibly scared to let it happen. Like would you believe this is the sequel to the series that let KhaoBook kiss, NeoForce film a whole sex scene, FirstMark kiss, Mond kiss everyone he saw, NeoDrake sex scene and more? (Again, thank you snowflakes, who would cry and have tantrums if their couple kissed someone else).

Also, Ton and Pete appearing at writer's convenience was pissing me off bad. What was that writing? They both worked on the play so they should've been there all the time.

That brings me to Pete and the main "drama" of this series. The not-kiss between Arnold and Dean. It was such a non-issue, oh my god. On one hand I am pissed that they didn't let Tua get Mew-level of toxic, but on the other hand, this was such a non-issue (compared to actual cheating from OFTS) so I can't even feel that mad because it makes sense that ArnoldTua simply talked it out. JackDean were unable to just fucking explain it. Dean never gave solid arguments, just begged Jack to not leave him. And it's crazy because Dean had valid argument - he was drunk AND drugged (which btw was never addressed afterwards). But as I said, JackDean are awful characters, so why bother ranting about this. And RomeRaffy were not affected at all by this "drama" so they were just chilling together (the fact it wasn't Raffy was cleared in two sentences). And final confrontation of Pete wasn't bad, but it went by so quickly (remember what happened to Top and especially Ton after the cheating?) and once again, why didn't we get to see the conversation between Rome and Raffy about this? Because that was a breaking moment in their relationship and surely a big shocker for Raffy, who saw Pete as a friend.

I just hope that Great at the end doesn't mean the threat of season 3. If you want to do that, please let OFTS crew work on it at least, otherwise please let this series rest in peace.

In conclusion, I'm disappointed. This series shouldn't have happened. Never do this again, GMM. Thank you.
