"Minato's Laundromat: A Heartfelt Journey of Love and Growth"
Japanese Drama Review: Minato's Laundromat (12 episodes, 25 minutes each)Story and Character Development:
The character building in this drama is exceptional. The way events unfold, their sequence, and development is excellent—not too fast to be confusing, nor too slow to be boring. I really enjoyed this balance.
Cinematography, Directing, and Music:
The photography, directing, and transitions between shots are professional and visually pleasing. The music is well-chosen and never annoying. The series provides just the right amount of visual stimulation without distracting from the story.
Main Characters:
Minato Akira (Kusakawa Takuya): He perfectly portrayed a depressed and closed-off character. Watching his journey from a guarded, fearful person to someone who finds his happiness and safe zone was remarkable. I felt every emotion he experienced from beginning to end.
Katsuki Shintaro (Nishigaki Sho): Persistent, stubborn, and possessive. His performance was captivating, showing what it means to break into someone’s heart without permission. Despite their age difference, his love and dedication for Minato Akira over the years were beautifully expressed through his acting and eyes.
The chemistry between the two leads is excellent—they made me truly feel the growth of their relationship.
Secondary Characters:
Sakuma Shu and Sakuma Takayuki: They provided the most comic relief. Especially Sakuma Shu, whose antics and expressions were hilarious.
Hanabusa Asuka (Oku Tomoya): A calm and subtle presence, whose few scenes were impactful, showing quiet and contained emotions of love.
Favorite Scenes:
1. Episode 7: Katsuki Shintaro shows childhood pictures to Minato Akira, expressing his feelings with sincerity.
2. Episode 8: Minato Akira rejects Shintaro’s feelings, yet Shintaro’s eyes and reactions make it clear he will love him forever.
3. Episode 9: A comedic moment where Sakurako confesses to Sakuma Shu, and his off-script reaction made me laugh uncontrollably.
4. Episode 12: The finale—Minato Akira reads Shintaro’s farewell letter, feels the anger and explosion of emotions, and rushes to confess his feelings. Even after discovering he wouldn’t leave, he faces his emotions fully. This scene was deeply moving.
Conclusion:
I highly recommend watching Minato's Laundromat. You will experience a range of emotions—from laughter to heartfelt moments—and the character development makes it a truly memorable drama.

Low expectations but it surprised me
I was a little hesitant to start this drama because recent Korean legal dramas this year was just so not my cup of tea, unlike before. When I tell you, episode 1 really lured me in. I was hooked, I experienced the thrill, the engaging emotions and all that, I was greatly impressed! I did not expect to like it very much either. I would easily put this in my top 5 Kdramas of this year! While it did it get rough for me in the middle of this drama and some cases I did not like, every episode was still so unique and will really catch your attention. There's a slow burn romance but I thought it was paced perfectly given where the characters started, their work relationship, and how much time they have actually spent together, it felt very natural in it's progression. Good is an understatement for their chemistry, it was simply off the charts!More often than not I enjoyed this drama, and overall it's worth the watch. It was very well executed and well acted, kudos to the director on this one.

Story and acting has problems
I watched this 5 yrs ago when it released and it was my first cdrama. At the time I was very impressed and loved it so much. Now that I’ve watched many CDramas specifically costume/wuxia ones I have to admit this one is not as great as I thought. There’s still positives though. The production and set design is incredible. The OST is one of my all time favorites it’s so beautiful. After rewatching some parts my problem with it is how they ended the story and the relationship/character developments throughout. Also some of the actor’s acting was not great. I loved Hu Yitian in this role visually and he really did a good job with the martial arts parts. His acting could’ve been better in the more emotional scenes. Unfortunately he had a tendency to be very expressionless in his early years. Tie Xinlan was a confusing character bc in the beginning she seemed badass then she became very damsel in distress. The actress’s acting skills was not great imo. I wish we could’ve seen more relationship development so we could see their love for each other instead of just dabs here and there. Some of the villains were very odd and unrealistic which made you not want to take the drama seriously. Something felt so off about the ending like they wanted to just get it over with and wrote the easiest way they could think of to end it. I think it’s watchable but don’t expect quality writing and actingWas this review helpful to you?

Immature drama with some unnecessarily dark parts
Beware: this drama has trigger warnings for SA and DV (in separate instances). Although it cuts them to be as off-screen as possible, the shock and repercussions are clearly shown, so avoid this drama if these topics are uncomfortable for you.The drama is flawed primarily because of the maturity level of the writing. As the above, there's some dark parts that felt tonally off given some of the other plot. There's also many character-level inconsistent writing, for example, the FL is written to be both an immature kid but also an intelligent woman. The attempt to make her a relatable girlfailure isn't bad, but then almost everyone surrounding her also acts as if they were high schoolers, sometimes even the elderly. As the drama goes on she gets more and more mature, because the writers realized they wanted to follow storylines about her being a decent mom and decent struggling businesswoman. It's probably for the best, but then why include the annoying immature parts and confuse the audience until this point?
Even if it gets better with the FL, immaturity plagues the other characters. I can't blame the actors' performances given the material, but it is weird to see mid-thirty year old adults (and sometimes even the elderly) act like teenagers for the entire drama. Many of the issues in the drama arise as a product of stupidity or ignorance with some miscommunication, which makes the situations more frustrating to watch than usual. Certain characters are telegraphed to be just tools rather than being realistic. Characters reactions don't stay consistent to their characters making them feel fake.
As other reviews have probably noted, ML is probably the only reason to watch this, but he doesn't have a huge amount of screentime. I'd estimate maybe 20%? It's way more on FL, and even the daughter (my other most likeable character) and the FL's ex get more.
If you are in the mood for a female centered modern drama, I would highly recommend to watch a different drama that at least feels more age-appropriate with smarter writing and plot such as Remembrance of Things Past, Alliance, Nothing But Thirty, There Will Be Ample Time, Meet Yourself, or many others, even many family dramas are fairly decent at following female characters.

Cute and Cozy Story between Not Blood-Related Family Members
Watched this because of Hwang In Youp (playing Sanha), but ended up falling for the actor playing Haejun. LOL. They look like a younger version of Lee Joon Gi and Park Bo Gum. The main female lead also did so well that I fell for her, too! She has flaws, yet adorable.Great watch! One of the best family-themed series I've seen, and the series still stuck with the theme till the very end (though the last few episodes were quite predictable). I like how this did not also focus too much on romance, but more on the sibling-friends relationship between the three main characters. Love this trio's chemistry! So cute.
The downside is the 10-year time skip; it felt like it ruined half of the series a bit.
The best character: Jeong Jae (Juwon and Haejun's dad)

Great Watch !!!
I just wish they had a little more to the ending like the chemistry between the main leads was lit i guess that made me want a bit more definitive end for them . Normally not a huge fan of big age gaps but this was done just right ,their interactions felt genuine and heartwarming . The side characters too were really good and one thing I'm especially glad about is the fact that they did not add meaningless evil characters just to add stupid rivalry and misunderstandings .Was this review helpful to you?

For those who are here for vibes not plot
I went into this not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. As someone who enjoys Motorsport, I thought there'd be something a bit more intense for me with the bike racing but it turned out to be a plot vehicle. Trying to make sense of the larger story is an exercise in futlity. You'd be better off trying to understand why there are still flat-earthers in the year of Beyonce 2025. Anyway, it's a nice rompy ride that doesn't overstay its welcome. The ending was rather abrupt and it tries to tackle themes of pride, school pressure and sexual assault—and we'll leave it at, it tried. It's very rewatchable since it doesn't require a lot of dense attention and the set designs are quite pretty. Overall, not the worst I've experienced, not the best either. Was this review helpful to you?

JOURNEY OF GRIEF, LOVE, AND HEALING
This story tells Hee Wan, a young woman who has been living in quiet despair since losing her first love. When Kim Ram Woo suddenly returns as a reaper, he tells she only has a week left to love, and together they set out to complete her final wishes. Along the way, old memories resurface, friendships deepen, and Hee Wan begins to rediscover what it means to live fully even with limited time.Kim Min Ha carries this role with a rare honesty. Her tears feel unguarded, her silences are weighted with loss, and her moments of joy feel like hard won sunlight. She made me ugly cry more than once. What also stands out is the way friendships are allowed to grow naturally, offering warmth and quiet support that balance the heavier emotions.
The OST lingers beautifully in every scene, with melodies that fit like a second voice to the characters’ emotions, and with just six episodes. The pacing is perfect, no filler, no dragging, simply a story that unfolds directly and meaningfully. Grief in this drama is not something that disappears, it shapes how Hee Wan lives, how she withdraws, and how she eventually learns to open up again. By the end, her development feels profound, she doesn’t overcome grief in a sweeping moment, but she finds the courage to carry it with her, to reach out again, and to turn farewell into something hopeful.
All in all, this drama is a deep drama that gives you emotional satisfaction, reminding us how love, loss, and connection can define a life, even when time is running out. Definitely worth a rewatch if you need a good cry.

What is Love?
All I thought was this drama will be that typical mentor-mentee relationship where he teaches then she learns. It did happen but it was more than that. Hyomin and Seokhoon learned, and consoled each other as their journey goes."Love comes in many different shades. and that love hurts people. Once that wound festers, they consider legal action. At that breaking point, they believe their last resort, the lawsuit will protect their happiness and their right into it."
The quote is how this drama got me. What love really is? As cases were presented per episode, love was introduced in a variety of shades. Whether that is infuriating, touching, annoying, or beautiful.
I fell in love to Jung Chae Yeon's acting through this. Probably, my favorite performance of her among the ones I watched so far. One thing I hoped for is that the it would be more perfect if the other characters plots were more explored.
++ I love the OSTs. They're my cup of tea.

Two brilliant male leads light up a dark, intense mystery
Nothing Uncovered is a fast, exciting thriller. The story has secrets, crime, and strong faces. I was hooked from the first episode. Its about a reporter finds a dark secret. Her life mixes with crime and politics. A detective from her past helps to find the truth. There is also a dangerous husband and many surprises. What I liked
- The two younger male leads are excellent. Yeon Woo-jin (Kim Tae-heon) and Jang Seung-jo (Woo Jae) give great energy and strong acting.
- The show has real twists and tense moments. This mystery kept me watching.
- The husband role gives a true villain feeling. The actor made the character cold and scary — this works well for the story.
What I did not like
- Some endings felt weak. The ending for the Governor and the FML's father-in-law did not feel fully explained. This left me confused.
- The second male lead (Woo Jae) and the female lead did not get a full, clean ending together. I wanted more closure for them. - The female lead’s emotions sometimes felt flat. The lead was not always convincing. This made some scenes less strong.
- A few side stories were left open. For example: Cha Eun Sae and the Governor’s
Overall feeling
The drama is mostly very good. It is exciting, with strong acting from the two male leads and several big surprises. The weak points are the moments when the story slows or leaves questions. Still, the strong parts kept me watching to the end.
Final score — 9 / 10
I give it 9 out of 10 because the acting and the mystery are excellent. The few loose endings and the flat emotion in parts stop it from being perfect. I still strongly recommend it for thriller fans.

Chinese Restaurant 9— A Season to Remember
Chinese Restaurant 9 truly felt like a warm family this season, and each member shined in their own way ✨.Huang Xiaoming led the team with calm strength, always carrying the weight of responsibility yet never forgetting to care for everyone like a true leader. Jiang Yan was the gentle “mom” of the group her cooking filled the restaurant with comfort, and her kindness wrapped around everyone like home.
Ding Yuxi.... “Bridge King,” wasn’t just a sous chef , he was like the caring big brother of the group. He looked after everyone, always stepping in to help no matter the task, and his support made the whole team feel stronger. And then there was ...Shen Yue 💖 the bright soul of CR9. She wasn’t just the finance manager or photographer, she was the sunshine of the group. With her warmth, sincerity, and quiet determination, she made every moment feel genuine and full of life.
Zhai Xiaowen.... brought youthful charm and endless creativity (his zucchini creation will never be forgotten!), while Patrick Yin amazed with his multilingual talents, always connecting with guests and making them feel welcome. And finally, Lin Shuwei, the wise teacher-chef, guided the kitchen with patience and experience, ensuring every dish carried both flavor and heart.
And I really loved the cutest banter between Shen Yue and Zhai Xiaowen their bond was the best part of this season, always bringing smiles and laughter💛
Together, they weren’t just a team they became a family. Their laughter, teamwork, and care for one another made this season unforgettable. I’ll truly miss their interactions, but I’ll always treasure the warmth they shared. Wishing every member of the CR9 family endless success and happiness in their journeys ahead 🍴🥢🍲🍜☺️

I am a huge fan of a revenge plot but this was as predictable as they come. The only surprise from the show was that death in episode 8. I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING and most certainly wasn't expecting it. Han Soo Hee was excellent and I loved that she was a badass! The fight scenes were great as well! The fight choreographer did great work. 9/8/25

Sugar Baby & his Stalker
The priorities and pacing of the storyline is all over the place. It chooses over long fan service moments over building momentum to the key mystery or revenge motivations. Most of the so called romantic moments are anything but and grinds the story to a halt. It's also disappointing so much time could have gone to building relationships with other people in Armin's life and also fleshing out his character more.We never learn if he has any family, why it's only Phat and P'Jeed who he loves as an aunt. He never spends much time with Phat, his best friend at all or see exactly how he's helping P'Jeed live a healthier lifestyle as she treats her illness. We are never shown that Phat wanted to learn to be a chef until Armin randomly enrolls Phat in culinary school. There are moments when the show is so unintentionally funny like when Armin crashes the car from the film set and his neck length hair wig falls off to reveal his even longer neck length hair and then he cuts his hair to reveal a hair cut that's like his wig. The scene where Armin delivers his one line scene as a background actor was supposed to be amazing, but it was pretty lackluster, which made the dissonance of the scene unintentionally bad funny too. Though to be charitable, Armin's first life in his twenties is a truly atrocious actor, so in comparison it would be good, but not to the level of the reactions to all around him. The actual actor for Armin is not that bad throughout the entire either, but not overly impressive in that scene. Armin didn't need to let Charlie feel him up to set up Sam with Charlie, it's so nonsensical.
Tada is a creepy stalker who stalked Armin for multiple decades. Tada also made his relationship with Narin creepy, exchanging sex for company favors as his boss and didn't stop until he got with the object of his stalking who he sets up a lead role for unbeknownst to Armin even though he could have gotten it on his decades of acting practice and who also ends up working for him. Seeing him him cradle Armin's corpse in the original timeline was very creepy. It's so annoying when one character asks another a direct question and isn't answered. Armin even questions it, but then lets it go for no reason when it's the extremely suspicious behavior he noticed of the guy always knowing what he's doing and where he is all the time, that he KNOWS wasn't a part of his life during that era of his life. There is no reason for him to not have just directly reached out to Armin instead of secretly following him around and manipulating his life, especially after the reveal of how Armin saved Tada from committing suicide when they were teenagers.
It's also ridiculous that Armin couldn't put two and two together that Tada is TD from the name and behavior until getting the watch gift delivered from Weinai. It turns out that Armin is into getting the leg up with Tada's resources anyways. He's not too proud to be have connections and gifts. Tada could have gotten Armin some acting lessons, which would have been helpful. The drama is strongest once Armin stops rampaging and destroying things and pushing over people, which happening more than once is really annoying, and finally settling in using his acting skills, tempering himself to be smarter in situations, while using his foreknowledge to move ahead in the acting career that he's always wanted as well as figuring out who murdered him. But that goes out the window when he starts dating his stalker. The show implies that Armin's stalker obsession was so strong that his will is what brings both his and Armin's consciousness back to the past to live a new life.
There are a few scenes between Arimin and Tada that does work the scenes where Armin takes Tada back to cook him dinner and they switch over to Tada's stalker apartment to utilize the actual kitchen, Armin telling Tada off and putting his hand around his face somehow in loving frustration in the hallway for ruining the filming schedule with Tada having the bodyguards drag off the poor props department guy, the rare actual hilarious scene of Tada's intimidating apology to the props guy, and Armin making a cute bento for Tada which even Weinai was to try. Weinai, Tada's right hand man has perfect comic timing. The gag of him accidentally saying the actual thing that was told to him or happening in front of him is not over used and he's cute with manager Janine, no notes. Every scene with Thiwthi the step brother is the worst. I get chewing the scenery, but he was just straight up ruining it with horrible over acting.

Let's keep it short shall we?
A brief summary...Beginning: 10/10
Middle:10/10
Ending: 3/10
For such a well rounded show, the ending was quite disappointing. Overall, it's a great show and I recommend it.
Pro-tip: don't get too attached to the dog. We don't know what happened to him at the end.
Happy watching 🙂

Liked the drama . . . LOVED the ending
First of all, I watch all Sun Zhen Ni's dramas because she is the most beautiful woman in China. That said, the story is kind of ridiculous how a quitter staff girl gets to relive her looser life, make much better decisions and ends up in a much better life. The problem with the story is that she's way too good at everything in the drama to be human. She goes from the last quartile of students to one of the top university candidates and the implausible story gets worse from there. But then the ending snaps everything back to reality and made the entire show utterly entertaining to me. I noticed many reviewers complained that the ending ruined the whole show but for me, it was the opposite. Was this review helpful to you?
