Love in a Theatre
The foremost thought I had - all 10 minutes I watched - was SŹį“sŹļ¹ļ¹ļ¹ļ¹ļ¹ļ¹ļ¹You are in a movie theatre, why are you talking? They did not stop talking, I don't care if it was during the ads or the movie - don't talk!
Second, what happened? You met during the ads and you're already talking about dating? The deepest conversation they had was about popcorn!
Third - that must have been a terrible movie because all they did was talk, eat and sleep.
Finally, I know movies essentially show us two people falling in love within two hours, but these guys actually fell in love in two hours, half of which they spent asleep!
This was silly lol.
But kind of cute.
And also, don't stick around after the end credits, those theatres need to be cleaned - go out and have a conversation!

Stressful but youāll keep wanting more
In my spare time, I lowkey write reviews in some secret websites just to express as-of-the-moment hyped emotions. As I always tell my students, its best to capture it raw. Lol.So My thoughts are all over the place and I donāt really have much time to write a decent review si Iām just going to leave here my fascination of The Red Sleeve. This may be a mess as I donāt have all the time in the world anymore to organize my thoughts š
First off, iIm borrowing 500 days of Summerās taglineā this is not a love story. This is a story about love. This is a historical fiction based on the novel of the same name. I might read the novel if time permits since I usually love comparing text and media. Anyway, I wonāt spoil those who havent it watched it yet. So Iām merely sharing my thoughts on this masterpiece but wont be going over the details. Again, itās certainly not a romcom and I donāt know why in the world Netflix tagged it under kilig. Some bits yes, but as a whole, nah. I grieved. What absorbed me the most is the thought provoking message of the themes presented kn the story. Thereās actually a lot to talk about. The fl to begin with is such a revolutionary role. And again, sheās a real person. She really existed and was rightfully glorified by the script. Thereās also a lot of action in it, politics, rebellion, friendship, culture, ideals, and many more. But what drives the whole story is the steong depiction of The push and pull of love and duty. If fairytales taught us that love conquers all, TRS showed the bittersweet reality of choosing love and the consequences that come with it. Most dramas with boss-servant couple easily taught us that to be swayed by the former is the ultimate goal, as if itās where all the good stuff will start happening. but here itās quite the contrary, It acknowledges the ugly truth of being chosen by the prince charming is not that charming after all. The story also questions manās capacity to exhaust all means to get a hold of love despite knowing well that that thereās an eternity of doubt and sacrifices that follow. There are so many questions to ask after the last episode. Was it all a dream or a memory? Did the main characters gain or lose? And going back to āloveā, which face of love is the strongest of all? Is it the love for oneself? Filial love? Patriotism? Loyalty to the system? Did love change them or they manipulated love as they wish? it ended ambiguously. It wasnāt happy nor sad, but borderline depressing. lol.
Iāve watched a lot since my pregnancy to either keep me awake or lull me to sleep, from anime to movies, c, K, and JDramas, jumping from one genre to another. Iāve seen a lot and I would say this is my number 1 drama this year. They specifically call this type of kdrama saeguk. Iāve seen classics of my time like Jewel in the Palace, Jumonh and Hwang Jininbut didnt really like the platform back then since Iām too young for some serious stuff. I like watching hollywood period dramas though just not Korean in particular so I would say this is a first taste for me. Iām more familiar with the Japanese, planning to watch at least one Chinese if I feel like going after their standard 30+ eps, but I like to have them three compared soon.
So I dnt know if Saeguks are really riveting as as this one since they hold the magic of true historical events. But I hate how the show haunts me more now that Iāve finished it. The plot, the charactersā portrayal, their character development and the conversations they carried out, they all linger. The exchange of lines also got me so hooked and I was always waiting for the caption, thinking about how would each character uniquely deliver their words. I recall one review from MDL, the last few episodes are more on tell than show and I find it truly captivating as if Iām reading from a novel. I have read many reviews on Tumblr too and I like how there are so many angles it could be viewed from. Iām four years late to react so Iām also afraid that my thoughts might appear copied elsewhere. I could have joined reddit discussion too if timeās being gracious. Anyway, what I just want to finally do is to bring this in the classroom to end my TRS fever. I wonder how many of the students Iām about to meet in my class are already or would be interested to discuss the elements of this drama. I hope they would be reminded that love is not all about chocolates, roses, butterflies and kiligā itās more like rose water abs and will DearDiary you. Char. Got those from a Tumblr review haha. So many hilarious remarks over there than MDL but whatās funnier is that Iām crying bc this is just so messy š typed all these while breastfeeding my little one haha
donāt know why in the world Netflix tagged it under kilig.

Chemistry Served, Mystery Delivered
First of all, Dilraba was absolute perfection in this drama. She has come such a long way, and every time I watch her, she feels more and more refined in her craft. This role really highlights the full range of her acting abilitiesāsubtle, expressive, and confident. Huge applause as well to her stylist, because she truly slayed every look.Chen Xing Xu feels completely in his element here. His performance is natural and convincing, with no awkward moments at all. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable and effortlessly delivered. What I appreciated most is that their romance doesnāt rely on overused clichĆ©s; instead, it unfolds gradually, built on partnership, trust, and mutual respect. And honestlyātheyāre incredibly cute together.
Genre-wise, this drama leans into mystery and thriller, with a borderline horror vibe that keeps things tense and engaging. On top of that, the supporting characters are genuinely lovableāyouāll definitely find yourself getting attached.
Overall, a well-balanced drama with strong performances, compelling atmosphere, and a refreshing love story.

The best medicine for a happy heart
I found this drama interesting when I first read its synopsis online. And as I expected, I was hooked just after watching the first episode. I like how Cdrama is always opening new worlds to me, and this is actually the first one related to medicine. I now admire TCM, and much love for the story for making it the central theme.I was also very much absorbed to read the medicinal plant introduced in each episode. The story isnāt all about butterflies but truly about valuing the stomach that will house the butterflies. š I suddenly felt healthier after finding out so much about TCM.
I like both actors too! watch the girl from Casual & Perfect then the boy form Our Generation. I super love the former while I got bored on the latter. Still, both are very attractive and they fit right in romcoms. Their chemistry is undeniable, they look so good together that it hurts! š
As for the romantic flow of events, I also like how the story portrayed adult relationships. High school romance is timeless and will always make us giddy, but this one also successfully made me fall in love with matured people being responsible in their love life as they balance it with work and family commitments. And again, health issues on the sideā very adult haha.
all in all, I really love The Best Thing. Itās refreshing, light and super feel-good! A perfect watch after a stressful Kdrama with heavy scenes. This will probably be my new fave Cdrama after Perfect & Casual and Hidden Love. ā¤ļø

Cute....but not as good as I expected ?
I was excited about this show. The premise of two parallel plot lines, one in a simulation game and one in the real world, was really compelling but unfortunately that wasn't actually in the show.
The simulation game plays little to no role in the plot lines, it is just a device to make our leads meet. There is no actual plot line that takes place in this fake world.
The same "simulation world" is pretty much no existing. When the players enter the game they basically have to complete random missions which are basically the same everytime. I don't know how to explain but it is barely a mystery room. There are no complicated puzzles or intrigues to solve, it is just "go here, full stop".
Maybe I'm too critic about this part, but is obviously put there just to give the mail leads some screen time.
Moving on the actual plot is about a girl who wants to turn her life around and come back to her passion, architecture which she had to abandon due to familiar circumstances.
The main male lead is on a quest to clean his father name which was falsely accused of a crime 20 years prior.
The main story is interesting in and of itself but the execution is not the best. There are times when so many things are supposed to be happening plotwise but nothing is happening on the screen.
The middle part is especially boring.
The leads meet, they end up working together, they flirt and then we get super cute but undescribably boring couple moments.
Talking about this aspect of the drama it is really cute and heartwarming but not interesting. After the couple gets together we see a whole bunch of couple moment like having breakfast, smiling like idiots, bickering... I skipped a lot.
I love romance but I prefer slow burn drama because once the characters get together you get filler moments like these that drag out for too long.
Near the 3\4 marks conflict arises and the show gets back on track, but everything happens so fast you cannot really feel the struggle, the pathos. It feels rushes especially because the main conflict is somehow present in the first half but it becomes an afterthought.
The male lead is investigating his father false accusations from the very beginning but we get nothing until the very last quarter when he becomes "the punisher" all of a sudden...
Beside the main love story there isn't much else,
The other characters are there but are ignored.
The FL has a ton of colleagues which we know nothing about. Her best friend is there along the whole drama but her plot line was so boring and uninteresting I couldn't care less.
The best part of the drama is the soundtrack. Really cute and feels good.
It sound like I'm hating on this show but I'm not I promise. I just feel my expectations were disappointed.
This drama is fine if you enjoy cute couple and romantic scenes.
On this note I feel like the male lead had more chemistry with his female counterpart then viceversa.
They were cute together but I didn't feel the sparks.

Amazing mature loveable short drama!!!
What a story! The director has really worked hard on the story, plot, dialogues, andāmost importantlyāthe casting. Everything worked really well. This drama has very high rewatch value. You feel so connected to the characters that you keep rewatching scenes on Instagram or YouTube.
An amazing drama overall. The only thing I didnāt like was the actressās hairstyleāshe is very beautiful without bangs. I love this drama so much. Loved both the actor and the actress.
Everyone deserves to meet a good partner in life, just like how these two characters met and built their love through destiny.
Please make more dramas like this.

Good welcoming drama of 2026
First of all, the overall story is good. Even from the first episode, you feel compelled to keep watching. I really liked the concept of the game used in the drama. If they had continued it consistently until the end, it would have been even better. Very refreshing.Since both leads work in architectural design, the director should have done more homework on their charactersā homes. That part felt lacking. The homes were shady and not impressiveāthere werenāt enough design elements or themes added to make them visually attractive. The office building visuals also could have been better.
Otherwise, the game concepts, story, and dialogues are impressive. Episodes 20 to 28 felt a little slow. The plot ended well, but it was dragged; they could have added more interesting game plots during this phase. Even after the love confession, continuing with strong game plots would have made it better.
Overall, itās worth watching. Very refreshing. I didnāt skip any scenes. A pretty good start for 2026.

Immature and silly FL
I'm stuck on the eight episode because of all the nonsense that's getting repetitive. It was funny for the first two episodes but now it's kinda annoying. She writes the script, why can't she figure out a way to resolve issues without doing ridiculous things? She's too immature, and not in a funny or cute way anymore. SFL was way better character and actressWas this review helpful to you?

it was the kind of goodbye khemrin deserved
this special wasn't just an addition to the series, it felt like a long-overdue act of justice for all the moments denied love never fully gave us.seeing rin love khem freely, without fear or restraint, was everything. their love is soft, warm and deeply contagious.
watching them build a family and step into motherhood together felt tender and earned.
it was the kind of goodbye khemrin deserved.

An ambiguous drama between Younger man/Older Woman
I was excited when i watched this in this year since i found decent sub in this drama and it turns out it was decent. Even they claimed this drama had Hongkong style but i don't feel any Hongkong vibe at all (Maybe because Jeana Ho was Hongkong citizen). The plot is about FL knows her fiancƩ was getting affair. She remained calm but actually she was slightly emotional, but simply went to drink and vent with family and friends. It was at this moment that the she met ML. And then ambiguous relationship between FL and ML started.
Their romance was captivating; the older sister was mature and charming, the younger brother innocent but emotionally expressive, and the age and social gap created a turbulent relationship. It was rare to see Ma Xiaoyu in younger brother role and the age gap in real life was real and the casting was right. Personally the chemistry between him and Jeana Ho were not overflowing but it was still sufficient to watch since they had ambiguous relationship at first they met.
The sibling relation between FL and her older sister are so strong and their dynamic seems decent to see. But i felt ML's younger brother presence was too weak in terms of acting while he was actually was the key of this drama.
The ending felt a bit ambiguous; it didn't clarify whether the ML died or not, nor did it explain the fate of the FL's father and FL ex fiancƩ. The cons in this drama the final stab felt a bit unnecessary.
Still recommended despite the flaws.
