sweet and slow
Ok. Its the same old story but told well. great visuals and sweet young actors. My only beef is the writer who hadAkira tramatized by someone in middle school saying your gay and gross. Come on. Gay, straight, female or male middles school is traumatic but we grow up and hide it or move on.
To make it the central core of this boy's inability to love or even engage? Get a spine or find your penis.

The story lost me. The leads refused to.
Love Beyond the Grave and I had a complicated relationship from the start. I absolutely love the xianxia genre and its spirit worlds. But this one wraps itself in a Halloween vibe that never quite lets up, and that is a different thing entirely, not my natural habitat. I kept watching anyway, mostly out of stubbornness, partly because Dilraba and Arthur Chen were doing things on screen that made dropping it feel like a personal loss.So I stayed. Not because the story earned it, but because they did.
For roughly twenty-nine episodes I was a hostage. A comfortable one, granted, because the costumes alone justify the watch and the OST is the kind of haunting that follows you into your week. But emotionally? The doom was suffocating, the angst relentless, and I spent most of it wondering how I got there.
Then episode thirty happened. He Si Mu finally lets him in, and suddenly twenty-nine episodes of patience made sense. The romance, when it arrives, is beautiful and heartbreaking in equal measure. It does not fix the ending, which is exactly as doomed as it promised to be from the start. But it made me feel something I had been waiting for since episode one.
The costume team, by the way, did not come to play Whoever designed those outfits was on a mission and clearly had no intention of being stopped. Neither did the leads. Everything else? That is between me and my complicated feelings.
7/10. The story was not for me. I finished it anyway.

Yawn! And I had high hopes for this too!!
This was extremely boring!! This BL felt all over the place and it seemed to skip out on a good plot. I adore Zee and NuNew, but this BL; just wasn't it. Slow and steady doesn't always win the race and that's so obvious judging with how this turned out. Slow burn romance, abuse, a masochist, a narcissist Prince. I mean, what was the point of creating this series. Just to make serious BL fans angry đĄ? Well, it worked! I'm so disappointed with this TV series.I was pretty invested in the second couple as their story seemed more dramatic. The acting was subpar, but the chemistry on the second pair seemed genuine

Beautifully Crafted with Depth and Imagery
This was a very interesting series that held my attention from beginning to end. At first, the story seemed as though it might become an ordinary girl meets boy...or better said....girl meets demon, girl falls in love with demon...love story. But as the story unfolds, the twists and turns, the subplots and side stories, create a world of fantastic imagination embellished with beautiful imagery.I will make this review short and to the point. It was beautifully scripted. The juxtaposition of the present with the Joseon period of Korea gave the series an unexpected...and masterfully crafted...depth.
There will always be people who cruelly criticize....berate....brilliant series. Perhaps such vitriol gives them a sense of unbridled power over the actors. Perhaps it gives them a sense of ultimate control not only over the production but of the world of viewers themselves. For whatever illogical reasons these people choose to dismantle works of cinematic art, just ignore them. If the trailer beckons you, follow it...follow the series to its end. You will not regret my advice.

I'll take one of everything
As a woman who also appreciates boyish charm and looks from the 25-35 range, the first thing about this series that gained my appreciation was the age gap. It's one of the tropes I loved about My Dear Lady and Dating in the Kitchen. And there is something about historic CDramas and KDramas that draw me in every time. Pretty sure it's the romanticized costumes and anti-tech that gets me. I did find this series a little stretched for what it was. I think this would have been just as good done over 10 episodes rather than 12, but it wasn't so much that I felt super annoyed. If you are someone who enjoys watching cooking competitions, I really think you will like the way she describes each of the dishes she cooks when she presents them. I will say, I thought we were building up to a secondary couple with the chef's assistant and the assassin, but it never actually took off. Still I found plenty of action to keep the story moving, and I really loved the way they wrapped it all up. I don't know that I will watch this one again, but I am happy to have watched it at least once. Was this review helpful to you?

super sweet vertical series
Overall: I enjoyed how it focused on the leads. 30 short episodes available on GagaOOLala app and iQIYI app (iQIYI has 5 interview bts episodes). What I Liked
- focused on the 2 leads
- the taller guy wanted to be a puppy/pet
- sweet/caring moments
Room For Improvement
- guy with glasses had that overacting thing, but it wasn't too bad
- didn't show the head pat after he first asked for it
- wanted another couple episodes of them as a couple

Don't Waste your time!
I was really excited about this one going in, especially because the prequel was so successful and set the bar pretty high. But honestly, I couldnât even get past episode one. It ended up being such a letdown. The actors seem talented and likable, but their performances were surprisingly difficult to connect with, which made it hard to get invested. On top of that, the plot just feels all over the place. Itâs hard to follow, and nothing really pulls me in or makes me care about whatâs happening. I also couldnât connect with any of the characters, which made it even harder to stay engaged. I kept trying to focus, but my attention kept drifting because the story just didnât grab me at all. I really wanted to like it, but it just didnât work for me. This is the lowest rating Iâve ever given in my 10 years of watching dramas. Was this review helpful to you?

With friends like that, who needs enemies ?
Friends who betray each other for money, what a basic plot⊠and yet devilishly well executed, with every episode managing to surprise. With friends like that, who needs enemies ?A dark comedy whose nastiness makes it particularly gripping. The main couple find themselves at the center of it all, despite themselves, and get through it only by making serious compromises. In the end, they are merely pawns of the rich, and they know it, so they act accordingly. You might think youâll find a little empathy in the heiress, but thatâs quickly taken away from you. What happens to her is horrific, but her reaction is just as unacceptable, and she never takes her friendsâ financial problems seriously ; to her, three million is nothing, but to them it makes all the difference. The epilogue offers a bitter conclusion, a somewhat unsatisfying resolution, but at least all the pretences have been laid bare.
In the midst of it all, poor Da Rae, the unfortunate girl, suffers greatly. She is the one who has truly been betrayed in this story. And she is used as an excuse to justify the worst possible acts, even though she asks for nothing.
Shim Eun Kyung/Yo Na comes across as rather creepy and cold-hearted at first. You never quite know where you stand with her. A really, really good character, played brilliantly to make her believable.
And finally, well done to Ha Jung Woo/Ki Su Jong for that free latte. At last ! However, those four scenes where he imagines or dreams up things that arenât actually happening : I declare them illegal and refuse to put up with them.

EXCELLENT SCRIPT AND STORY. AND CINEMATIC!
Iâll start by saying that I donât watch a lot of BLs. Iâve started several over time, but most of them I dropped after a few episodes. Sammyâs Childrenâs Day was different.Itâs a bit of a slice of life drama, about the underworld in 1980s Hong Kong, but it has a very cinematic quality. It is beautifully shot and has dialogue that actually develops the characters and builds the world around them. What touched me most, however, was the dynamic between the MLs. It felt realistic, natural, and I donât know⊠human? Not artificial or over the top. Their relationship develops slowly because the focus is on their emotional connection and friendship rather than just sexual tension or physical intimacy (though we get some intense moments too, which are beautifully presented, btw). If you are looking for a BL that is mostly about kissing and sex, this is not it.
Yes, the dubbing is in Cantonese, but the actors performed in Mandarin originally. At first, the lack of sync between the voices and their mouths is obvious. But after a while, you just stop noticing it. The actors are so expressive and immersed in their roles that you just stop focusing on the mismatch. Their eyes, the small details in their gestures⊠those carry all the scenes. Plus, the dubbing is fantastic! Whoever voiced them captured the actors' emotions perfectly.
The storytelling is understated, which makes this BL so great, imo. It doesnât try too hard to dramatize or sensationalize everything. I love how it leans into everyday moments. Thatâs why it feels more grounded than other BLs. After each episode, I would just sit there for a while and revisit some moments in my head. They really NEED to make a season 2! They absolutely must!
The best way I can put it is that this BL is likely to stay with you. Not because of some crazy plot twists, but because of how GENUINE it feels.
10++++ from me

No US show, but it has decent cast chemistry
Wow, coming back to kdrama after a while it really its really something. I had to remember myself that they are special... So, a very short review.Nice visuals. Mostly good sound design ( I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of things un multiple occasions). Mostly, because a lot of times it is also used as means to induce a "fast-pacing scene on screen, feel the tension, pls" feeling. So, the usual boring dragging kdrama pacing, but also having fast-pacing stuff, reserved for when they wanna give you the "something serious happening now" feel. The fight choreography and the technical aspects were the usual. Good casting. Well, mostly. We also have stuff like: an actress thats supposedly 12yo in the flashbacks, 19 yo present time, but she looks like shes 25ish... At first I thought the character was supposed to have certain health issues, but in later episodes I realised she's trying to act being 12yo. Unless the translation was bad and she wasn't really 12 then, dunno.
And now the good stuff. For those of you that watched the US procedural TV shows, don't expect the same level of competency. No CSI something, no LAPD something, no nothing. Anyone who loves those kind of shows should move to Korea and get a job. Its like those people in some anime, that transmigrate to a new world and they have prior knowledge, and BAM, insta OP. If reality is any as in the dramas, no matter how low/common your levels are, in Korea you'd be considered a genius :)))) Any time there was some sort of conundrum on screen, I was "talking" to them: "why aren't you doing this? Why aren't doing that? Wait, what? Whats that logic? Thats not how it works. Why the fk are you looking at him?" etc. It will really test your nerves :)))
If this is not your first kdrama, you should know my now how the things are done there. But now, the main attraction point would be the chemistry between cast. Oh, and the fact that the MC (the detective), its not some super mega genius, or rich, or any of the usual sort of gimmicks. He's smart enough, and works hard, and tests a lot of his new ideas, some produce result, some are not. That really makes him endearing. That is, most of the times, when the script is ok and the story is not some plot device for fueling drama. The rest of the main cast, also good. Since I started with this section, I have a tiny question. Why would the writer make the Police feel incompetent? I mean, when you hear " its not the hour that we were interested in, why should we bother checking anyway?" sort of thing, you start wondering how does one pass the exams and enter the PD. There's one character that does that a lot, but I've noticed it even from the "section head" or whatever his title was, someone thats supposed to be wiser... The acting was decent enough, again, apart from those typical kdrama scenes when they try to be "look, a deranged person", or angry etc.
As I was hinting earlier, the writing is not that great. A lot of plot devices and plot contrivances going on, mixed with a lot of drama for no real reason but to fake some sort of high stakes. The main storyline was a mess, they had no idea what direction they wanted to follow. So, they gave us a mix... Some sort of a main, but also stuff that might or might not be related. With comically evilmen. Yes, completely with "pls narrate your motives at the end, so the viewers will understand why". Oh, and the last 2,5 episodes were really bad. Geez...
To sum it up, A decent enough drama. If nothing else, the cast had chemistry all around. Don't bother with the heavily-induced "serious" subjects, I'm sure those were specifically selected just to create sensation and people to give them high ratings. "The themes, the themes", I know. So, basically, a drama for those who don't like to think. If you have any tiny bit of US procedural TV shows knowledge, its gonna be a hard watch. Maybe.
I gets a rating of 7, barely. But you might enjoy it. Like I said, the characters have charisma. As resembling real people, not the "omg, I love that actor/actress, I watch all of their work, they so pretty" crap that people usually use to rate something... And yes, I will now watch the second season. And no, not because of the cliffhanger (that was crap, and I was kinda expecting something like that when they give you flags all-around), but merely because I'm curious if the show will now have a better direction.
Have a lovely evening.

VERY CONFUSING
My experience watching Girl from Nowhere: The Reset was honestly frustrating. The episodes felt incredibly confusing from start to finish, and I struggled to follow what was even happening. I really like Becky and her previous work, so I genuinely tried to give it a fair chance just for her, but I couldnât get into the series at all. The storytelling felt messy and unclear, which made it hard to stay engaged. Overall, I wouldnât recommend it unless youâre okay with being completely lost and confused the entire time. Was this review helpful to you?
1.5 or 2x speed recommended...
I could not watch the entire thing without it being on 2X speed...It did have good deep emotions and really enjoyed all the characters!
But the plot was just not it.................... felt like the plot barely related and was only tied in when needed... Most of it was pertaining to her hometown and some like deep emotions tied with a family's past and trauma...
Honestly, felt extremely draggy and some humor was there but really watched it because I do love the two main leads.
I can't say it's worth the watch, but if you have leisure and like sort of a slice of life, slow paced drama - this is a golden spot then~
Also, I think the chemistry and relation between the main leads were kind of meh? Like something about them felt off (i LOVE both actors btw!!). Not sure if it's because of the sort of characters they had to play or?
Overall, good ideas to the importance of good friends, family, and neighbors - but think they could have made this into a mini series or something LOL...
happy watching everyone~

Bento Boxes, Secret Hearts, and a Love You Didnât Plan For
Lunch Break Lovers (2026) is a quirky, heart-fluttering rom-com that follows Karashima Naho, a hardworking game company employee, and Amami Haru, an eccentric and mysterious man whose only âbest friendâ is an AI. After Naho accidentally ruins Haruâs vintage outfit, she agrees to repay him with 30 homemade bento lunches, leading to daily 50-minute lunch meetings that slowly turn into something deeper, even as a major secret looms. This drama is such a fun little gem. It blends that classic J-drama quirkiness with a surprisingly warm emotional core, and the whole âbento contractâ setup gives it a fresh, playful hook that keeps things interesting from the start.
What really makes it shine is how the romance builds through routine. Those short lunch breaks become everything...tiny pockets of time where walls come down, feelings sneak in, and suddenly youâre fully invested in something that started as a simple deal.
Story â 7.5/10
The premise feels unique and charming, especially with the mix of AI themes, workplace rivalry, and a contract-based relationship. It balances light rom-com energy with just enough tension to keep you curious about how everything will unfold.
Acting â 8.5/10
Inoo Kei brings a lovable, slightly offbeat charm to Haru that makes his character feel both unpredictable and endearing. The female lead grounds the story nicely, creating a dynamic that feels natural despite how unusual their situation is.
Romance â 7.5/10
The romance is soft, slow, and built on shared time rather than instant sparks. Watching their connection grow through everyday lunches makes it feel intimate in a quiet, realistic way, even when the stakes start to rise. (I wish they would have hugged, held, hands, or touched a bit more)
OST â 7.5/10
The soundtrack fits the light, whimsical tone of the drama without overpowering it. It adds to the cozy atmosphere, especially during those lunch scenes that carry most of the emotional weight.
Overall Vibe â 8.5/10
Thereâs a cozy, slightly quirky charm running through the entire drama that makes it incredibly easy to watch. It feels like a mix of comfort, sweetness, and just a hint of tension from the secret relationship element.
Lunch Break Lovers (2026) is the kind of drama that wins you over slowly. If you love contract relationships, workplace secrets, quirky male leads, and soft, routine-based romance, this one feels like opening a homemade lunch you didnât know you needed, but end up loving every single time.

Too Much "Dancing"
Bad acting, bad story, bad visuals, could not pay attention for the life of me. The actor who plays Krit has soulless eyes, you could stare at them for hours and nothing would be reflected back at you. I fear the rating is padded by people just wanting to see strippers. In the two episodes I barely managed to crawl through, at least half the runtime was the characters dancing "sexy?" purely to draw engagement. I also didn't appreciate the near rape scene within the first 10 minutes.I know the drama summary mentions a kid - you will never see this child. They are as irrelevant to the story as Wayus top three buttons on his shirt.
