The hot noodle soup and the love

The Chinese miniseries 'Infidelity, It's a Disease' follows Jiang Ye or just "Handsome Playboy", a promiscuous and narcissistic boy, and Zirui, the "Pretty Young Man" Nursing student at Jingnan University, located in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China, who comes to offer him the requested specialized services in therapeutic massages at home, and who will be asked "if he offers special services".
The encounter between the two traces the blossoming of a relationship marked by sex, infidelity, and a desire for revenge. While there aren't many plots, there is plenty of passion.
Once again, China single-handedly saves the big BL drought, especially of good boy-love stories!
The two actors manage to paint a passionate and fiery picture of how sex and therapeutic massage can connect two strangers and lead to love.
Meanwhile, while one seeks to have fun on he own terms (even if it causes harm to others) and enjoy sex with the first guy who comes knocking, the other is worried about keeping he job and afraid of receiving a bad review from one of the clients.
With a lively, cheerful, and humorous pace, the series directed by MR.D. progresses from one scene to the next. If one moment we see the promiscuous guy trying to get the other into bed, the next we see the two lovers celebrating dinners and festivities.
Most of the story of 'Infidelity, It's a Disease' takes place in the small bedroom of the "Handsome Playboy". From their first meeting to their first heartbreaks, they experience it all in this tiny space. And I like this because it makes the story more personal, allowing the viewer to enter this small world, where all the truths will be revealed.
It is here in the bedroom where the two meet, where they exchange words and actions tinged with sexual desire in one of them while the other defends his role as bringing traditional Chinese culture and medicine to the world. It is also the place where they engage in a passionate flirtation that stands out precisely for its originality. This back-and-forth, although cheesy, maintains the expectation of what is to come. Anian Mo Lin's photography helps recreate the atmosphere.
The story of the four-episode series, each approximately eight minutes long, centers on the idea of revenge for infidelity. The young nursing student plans to avenge he promiscuous boyfriend's infidelities and make him he "pet". In fact, the pathological promiscuity that surrounds one of the characters will be one of the keys to viewers' devourability of "Infidelity, It's a Disease."
This is a fun and sexy story, and he packs so much into such short episodes! Plus, the viewer can't really imagine what's going to happen next.
Will Zi Rui, the "Pretty Boy," get Jiang Ye, the "Handsome Playboy," to delete all his hot dating contacts from his phone? Will the two of them admit they're in love with each other?
Although actor Peng Kangjun is convincing as a student with an innocent face that perfectly suits his character, who quickly falls in love with the love of his life, and Sun Wei Hao perfectly fits the role of the "Handsome Playboy", who always uses his physical attributes, his handsome face, his passionate words, and his captivating kisses to carry out his conquests, the whole "Infidelity, It's a Disease" feels unambitious, perhaps due to its low budget or because the series didn't have a real script when it was filmed, and the director only gave the actors a brief outline of what was supposed to happen, and each had to create their own dialogue.
However, it must be acknowledged that the latter gives the series a much more raw appeal, as the characters' reactions are natural.
The series' biggest drawback is that the characters take a while to introduce themselves individually, and when they do, they don't offer many details about their pasts, dreams, and goals. That said, it also takes a while for the viewer to empathize with these characters, as we don't get to know them well, beyond the prototypes they represent.
As a viewer, I would have liked to grow even more with the characters. They developed quite quickly, to the point where I ended up not really knowing who they were. We identify with the idea of their situation, but not with them as people. It left me wanting to know them more. However, the actors' commitment brought everything that their characters and the story didn't.

Beyond Life and Death – A Standout BL That Touches the Soul

I randomly stumbled upon "My Stand-In" while browsing iQIYI, not expecting much — and I ended up binge-watching all 12 episodes in one sitting (over 15 hours with breaks!) because I simply couldn’t stop. I still can’t believe I missed this gem when it aired. Every second was worth it.

This is my first time seeing Joe (Poom) and Ming (Up) — and wow, both are absolutely stunning. Their acting is phenomenal, their chemistry is electric, and they brought so much depth to their roles. Joe, especially, completely broke my heart. Growing up as an orphan, all he ever wanted was something so simple: a home-cooked meal and someone waiting for him. His journey, the pain he hides, and his quiet strength made me fall in love with his character.

As for Ming, I honestly don’t get the hate. Yes, he made mistakes and came off as toxic in the beginning, but context matters. It was a misunderstanding, and by episode 9, everything changes when he realizes it was Joe, not Tong, who he fell in love with at first sight. He fought his entire family for Joe, starved himself to the point of hospitalization, and gave up everything — money, family, reputation — just to be with him. And when Joe got kidnapped, Ming was ready to trade his life for him. That’s not a red flag — that’s a man who learned, changed, and truly loved. He even apologized with sincerity. To me, Ming turned out to be one of the biggest green flags in any BL I’ve watched.

And let’s talk about that moment when Joe shielded Ming and took the bullet for him. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

I also adored their home — finally, something different from the typical uni dorm! That city-view balcony where they shared so many moments felt like its own character in the story. I also liked the bodyguard Jim, and I really wish we had more screen time with Mike!

From the cinematography to the music to the unique supernatural twist — this show had it all. The plot was emotionally layered, never predictable, and handled so beautifully. It made me cry, smile, ache, and hope. I’ve watched over 200+ BL series, and I can confidently say "My Stand-In" is in my Top 5 of all time.

This isn’t just a show — it’s a story that stays with you. An absolute 10/10.

Every Action Has an Equal and Opposite Reaction.

This is the drama that made me realise that I prefer the Thriller genre.
Weak Hero 1 had much more emotional entanglements between the characters, particularly Si Eun, who was learning to thaw and accept friendships as a good influence; but also had to learn about the bitter truth about it.
In Class 2, he attemps to revert back to his original aloof self, having inadvertently made a name of himself as the lunatic transfer kid. But, when Jun Tae, a bullied classmate crosses paths with him, he realises that he can no longer return back to who he was and what his previous experiences had taught him.

I can see why this one might not seem disappointing, but for Si Eun, it is one step forward. Establishing his past self and traumas was the purpose of Class 1. In Class 2, he has to face the fact that he can no longer be a by stander and is forced to come to terms with his guilt, the traumas and changes he had gone through.

The High Lights?

☆ Cast: The entire cast did an absolutely fantastic job, delivering tasking emotional as well heart pounding action scenes. As usual Si Eun stands out due to his character, but his friends, particularly, Baku and Jun Tak shone as brightly as he did.
As for Baek Jin. He was a very interesting character -- I can guess some of his story, but his past remained shrouded. Maybe Baku would one day, tell the truth. (The first thing I did when certain charactets appeared on screen was check their ages was cause there was no way Baek Jin was close to 17.)

On the good side, I'm glad that this season had a lot of decent fighters who knew when to run and had friends for backup.

☆ Story: I think the sky high ratings of this series is solely based on the emotional aspect since it easily captures your heart and makes you root for leads as well punch the villains through the screen.

(I never wrote a review for Class 1 as I felt that some dramas just have to watched to understand them.)

As it is based on a Webtoon, I'll forgive them for not going too deep into the backstory of certain characters such as Baek Jin.

I highly doubt that an organisation equivalent to a student mafia exists, but hey, I come from a college where there is literal Drug Ring, so I'm not sure of I'm supposed to doubt them.
All in all, it an extremely thrilling ride that lives upto Class 1.

genuinely don't know how to feel

did this drama even remotely make sense? no. could i put it down? also no... i have no idea why, but this has a way of hooking you in.

for starters, the story makes zero sense. like girl what do you MEAN you're his girlfriend after 1 date??? it's giving middle school 'dating'. and also, how in the hell does your best friend just somehow fall in love with your man at first sight. and how is the dude who assaulted her not arrested, and how is he with her best friend??? this makes absolutely no sense at all and i was just confused and concerned all the way through. despite this, the drama still has a way of hooking you in through sheer curiosity and the thought of 'i wonder if it ever starts to make sense'.

the acting was kind of just meh. i didn't really notice it, since i was kind of focused on how concerning the entire thing was, and i kind of didn't really wanna focus on it, so i won't mention it much except to say: the storyline is so bad that bad acting actually could have made this mildly comical. the fact that the acting was kind of almost good just made this even worse.

the music was the worst part. 'how to turn candy into school supplies' ahh edm music. like while they're making out or something, i'm just sitting here waiting for a slime tutorial to start. it made no sense and just kind of didn't go with the vibe. literally just a default spotify jazz playlist would've been better. you could play flight of the bumblebee and i would still prefer that to 2016 edm music.

would i rewatch this though? yes i fear. it made zero sense, and when i'm tired and don't have a brain, this actually might just be the drama for me. i don't know, i think the nonsense of it all just makes sense when it's 3am and i just got back from school.

i would recommend watching this if you're into skinship though. heavy on that in this one. i feel like this whole drama is very much centred around it, and whilst it isn't really my thing (if i was that desperate i would go watch adult videos like why are we trying to edge here) i can kind of see someone wanting it? i dunno, i just continuously hit +10 seconds and get through it.

One of the best BLs, Great production value and never left me bored

I wish I had watched it sooner 😭 The story and production value are on KinnPorsche level! Some parts may even be better

Loved how they handled all the characters, none of the characters' development felt rushed or unfinished. Especially with characters Aran and Hope, their redemptions felt meaningful. It didn't just feel like "power of friendship" cliché; they actually proved themselves and showed how they were victims of the situation.

The show never felt boring or predictable, the balance of action, romance and comedy is done very well. They have their first kiss very late into the series, but the tension and chemistry never made me feel bored. Idk if this can be considered slow burn but all that wait actually led up to the best climax, DID NOT LET ME DOWN. The nc scene didn't feel rushed, nor did it feel unsatisfying.

One of the reasons I said this has one of the greatest production values is because of how many characters it has, and how well they are handled. But the main reason is that they didn't play by a formula, sad to say but after gmmtv started with their 12 ep formula with 11th curse, a lot of other companies followed in their footsteps, which made a lot of other really good dramas feel incredibly predictable. The story felt well paced and every episode left me wanting more without feeling overwhelmed. Each episode was great even stand alone.

Some people had qualms about the dog scene but tbh I don't have a problem with it 😂

This is such an adorable slice-of-life series! It’s packed with sweet and funny moments, along with heartfelt messages about two teens struggling to share their feelings for each other. I really enjoyed the story, the chemistry, and how the characters interact. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for something light and relaxing.

What I love about Min Jun is that he’s far from a perfect character. He’s insecure, introverted, overthinks everything, and has a bad habit of jumping to conclusions. Just like a moth drawn to a flame, he fell for Jin Hwan, his complete opposite. Jin Hwan is charismatic, confident, and effortlessly popular. And sure, five minutes of honest conversation could have cleared up the whole misunderstanding, but life isn’t a fairy tale. Relationships are messy. People are complicated. I really appreciated how the series tackled themes like personal growth, acceptance, and second chances in love. The entire cast delivered solid performances, and the leads have incredible natural chemistry. If the show had ended with the airport scene, I would have been happy, a somewhat open ending that leaves us wondering if they’d be able to make it work. But I also enjoyed the post-credit scenes. Min Jun feels lighter, happier, flashing more smiles, proof that they’ve matured and finally overcome their struggles.

How to waste a good story !

I really like the story and the original C-Drama. So I went to see what the Thai directors had done with it. But what a disappointment!

Sorry, I didn't like this version at all; the C-Drama is so much better!!

The actors are handsome, sure, but they're NOT AT ALL convincing. Everything is superficial (including the fake kisses). The characters have no depth. And the bias of this version, with ML. unabble to say a word in his defense or to justify an absence/mistake/etc., is unbearable...

Just an advice to those who like the story: go to watch the original C-Drama!!
***************************************************

Honestly, I found it hard to assess this series. Mark and Kit are such charming protagonists. They won me over right from the start with their vibrant and magnetic relationship. Their interactions were a lot of fun. I love the way they flirt and tease each other. Actor Kimmon Warodom brings to life a playful, captivating, and mischievous character. He shares electric chemistry with Copter Panuwat, whose character tries to resist Mark’s heartfelt displays of affection. Mark and Kit truly carry the series, and they’re by far my favorite couple.

Even though they’re not a couple, my second “favorite pair” has to be Jack and Koh. They’re the comedic relief that added a lighthearted touch to the series. Jack and Koh start out as rivals competing for Wayu’s affection. They’re constantly fighting, arguing, and sabotaging each other. They ended up developing a strange bond that could blossom into a romance, or at least, that’s what I was hoping for. Despite being secondary characters, they have the same charismatic vibe as Mark and Kit.

Pok and Tong, on the other hand, are like a train wreck you just can’t stop watching. Their storyline is chaotic and all over the place, yet somehow it’s still more captivating than all the Wayu/Thanu/Pha/Phai arc.

Pha was a character who showed up often, but I know next to nothing about him aside from the fact that he abandoned Wayu and asked Thanu to look after him.

Thanu and Phai’s love story seemed intriguing at first, despite all the randomness of the psychic visions of their future together. Even so, I wish this romance had been developed further.

Wayu and Thanu just didn’t manage to win me over. Their characters come across as dull and lifeless. I didn’t feel any spark during their scenes together.

I do recognize that the actors did a great job with what they were given, but honestly, the entire Wayu/Thanu/Pha/Phai arc had the potential to deliver a far more compelling story.

Despite all its flaws, I’d still give it a 9, thanks to Mark and Kit as well as Jack and Koh. They bring so much life to the show with their cheeky flirting and fun interactions.

kinda cringe at first but hilarious

First of all, if brain-rot comedy is not your thing, then this drama may not be for you. The only way to watch this drama is to acknowledge and accept the over-the-top comedy as granted and just take everything at face value. 'Pump up the healthy love' is not for serious watching. If you can get past that, this drama is really good and totally worth watching.

Personally, over-the-top comedy is not my genre. I started this because of Lee Jun-Young and my initial thought was what even is this? But once you get used to the comedy, this drama is actually hilarious and good for light-watching. Since the main setting of this drama is a gym, we can also see them trying to tackle issues like beauty standards, body-shaming, being underweight, etc. while still in the comedic context.

The main characters themselves are flawed individuals with kind of biased mindsets, so it's interesting to see their characters slowly grow too. Do Hyun-Joong is basically a fitness fanatic to whom all the problems in life can be solved by going to the gym. Your boyfriend doesn't like you? Workout. Can't stand up for yourself? Workout and gain muscles. Your toddler is too energetic? Workout and built stamina. Can't eat or sleep? You guessed it, the answer is always workout. As the story progresses, he slowly learns that not everything can be solved like that but at the same time, the viewers are also shown a subtle link that while working out doesn't make our problems go away, sometimes it gives us enough confidence and strength to face them. And this is reflected in Lee Miran's journey as she goes from working out for others to doing it for herself.

As for the romance, the english title is kind of misleading. The korean title '24 Hour Health Club' is more fitting as most of the story takes place in the context of gym, and romance is somewhat a subplot. It is gradual throughout the drama and develops mostly in the last few eps. But romantic or not, Lee Jun-Young and Jung Eun-Ji has really good chemistry and both their characters are crazy, hilarious and a compatible duo which makes them really fun to watch.

Overall, if you are looking for something light and fun to watch, this is definitely worth a shot.

Revenge, obsession, and second chances

🌸 My Rubric-Based Rating – Story of Kunning Palace 🌸
(Using a 5–3–1 scale across 9 categories)

💖 Romance Quality
5 Perfect chemistry and satisfying development between Ning & Xie.
😄 Comedy
3 Some good comic relief (Fake Dingfei!), but not a central focus.
🧩 Plot/Intrigue
5 Well-crafted, emotionally complex, and full of satisfying twists.
🎵 Soundtrack
5 Memorable, haunting, and romantic—top-tier OST.
🏛 World-Building
3 Good palace intrigue, though not as deep as high fantasy.
👘 Visuals/Costume
5 Visually stunning with elegant styling and beautiful details.
📺 Binge Factor
5 Addictive pacing—absolutely stayed up for “just one more ep.”
🎭 Acting
5 Excellent range and nuance, especially from Zhang Ling He.
⚔️ Conflict
5 Creative, emotionally driven, and well-resolved.

🧾 Total: 41/45 → 🌟 Final MDL Rating: 9.1/10

Story of Kunning Palace had everything I love—intense romance, great acting, poetic justice, and a twisty, emotionally rich plot. Bai Lu and Zhang Ling He had incredible chemistry, and seeing ZLH in such a dark, yandere role was a treat. I loved all 3 love interests, and while the ending with Xie Wei made sense (and gave us that sweet wedding extra!), I still rooted for Zhang Zhe and Yan Lin at times. The side characters were strong, the villains were detestable, and the OST was bangin'. I only wish Fangyin had lived. Still, this was a beautifully written and satisfying drama from start to end. Tbh, it was the best thing for me to watch after Till the End of the Moon. It wasn't xianxia but it kept me invested and happy in the end!

Love is always powerful!

What a drama! Really enjoy it.
Nice and Awesome
Emotional
"Whenever your heart calls me, I will come to you". Soo lovely phrase 💖, I hope I will come to you to my future Han Jun Hee 🥺💫.
Every scenes in every episodes counts and are important! So as to don't get mixed up!
1998, year I was born 🫶🏻. 9th May, where's my Walkman 😅, soo I can go back in time.

A well recommended kdrama, wish to have watch it in 2023, but it's okay.
Heartfelt, emotions
I wanted to watch it when it comes out, but always was pushing it, next time, also seeing the trailer back then, you were getting an idea how it will goes... BUT was going to that part however in a different way, was surprised while watching the episodes, what will happen next, is he/she that person, was she ill or something like losing memories!! That was not.
A more twisted story, you have to watch it for you to get your imagination twisted.
I didn't look at the reviews! Was only being thoughtful, is it like a drama what I was thinking of.
Finish it in 2 days, and happy also emotional, to have watched it!
It end well.

Why?

I really don't get it. There was a time when one fantastic K-drama followed another, and these days, all I get is really good starts for the first few episodes, only to find myself annoyed and disappointed at around episodes 5 and after.
Same here.

This started promising, with rather nice and heartwarming storytelling, an idea of what might happen after death, and it had some great takes on what might come.
I first liked the idea that the writers acknowledged that pets might go to heaven too. I started to be bothered though as they only ever showed dogs, just once or twice a cat too for 30 seconds but there was never a follow-up. When they showed the rainbow bridge there was also only dogs, no cats, no other loved pets either.

Now having watched up to episode 7, it gets nonsensical for me. So, as there is talk about heaven and hell, and in that heaven there is only what seems to be a Christian church with a priest ( but nothing for any other faiths like Buddhism (which would make sense particularly for a Korean heaven) or any other possible faiths people might have followed while alive). Yet now we hear something about reincarnation doors. Not only does that not make any sense for the Christian faith, it also doesn't make sense to me that pure souls like those of dogs or cats would have to reincarnate , and they are told that they have to do so to one day become humans on earth themselves. In my personal opinon that would be a regression actually.

I also didn't like the fact that the dogs and cats in heaven had adult human form. If at all in human form it would suit the spirit of dogs much better to be shown as little, carefree childen, if at all in human form. So while there were some few good messages to actual pet owners watching this drama about their responsibilities, it just didn't ad up for me where they lead that part of the story meanwhile. And why would dogs have to go to human therapy sessions to be taught that natural dog behaviour is a bad and wrong thing?

Now for the humans: I get that this boss in heaven says that heaven is just a stage (which again contradicts that solely showing of this heaven being a Christian heaven) But our main FL having to meet her terrible mother-in-law again? How did an abusive mother-in-law get into heaven at all in the first place? Doesn't make sense to me. Also in the beginning they say that for meeting someone in heaven both parties have to consent to meeting each other prior, and our FL is now not asked and confronted with her terror-mother-in-law again even in that so called heaven and gets treated awful again? That is not heaven for sure. Also it totally contradicts the sequence in hell, where some schoolbully boys, (at least youngsters in their teens who, at least having the excuse of being very young and immature) go straight to hell for their bullying and burn in the everlasting fires, while a long adult, nasty bullying mother-in-law, who bullied her daughter-in-law all her adult life and enjoyed it, goes to heaven? Ok then ...Oo

Also the part of the story with Som-I? They drag it for way too long and now even start making it a potential cheating/affair story with the FL's husband? While before they say there is a special hell for adulterers? Also, how did Som-I get into heaven at all with no memory? How did she actually pass through that first office round where they ask everything (your name, your date of birth, and how old you want to appear in heaven) How did she get past that without answering anything? Who set her age for her if she didn't go through the first office? And she must have arrived there as the FL's husband was with her on the train, so she arrived at the very same spot all arrivals from the trains arrive. Some suggested Som-I is just a younger version of the FL - well, if so, why would her husband not have recognised her face in the train? Why would Sonya, the cat not have known immediately that Som-I is the very same person as the FL ? And so on... really sloppy writing from there already.

All in all though what I miss basically is the idea that in heaven (if there is such thing no matter for which faith) the souls, or spirits (or whatever you might call them) who go there should actually exist in some kind of elevated spiritual realm, where there is a higher conscience that frees them of human weaknesses and the miseries those weaknesses cause in humans' earthly lives.

But the way they show it there now is just no difference to earth at all, except for actual disadvantages in many aspects. Again, that would not be any kind of heaven I would imagine in any faith.
To me it seems they had some good initial ideas and started with those, maybe for the first few episodes, and then they started to just write along whatever came to them, maybe under time pressure, and not thinking about if it makes at all sense to what they set as frame in the first good few episodes.

I'll watch episode 8 tomorrow to see if they at least try to get back on any track with the storyline. If it gets even worse than episode 7 it'll be yet another drop for me.

Update: I drop this after episode 8. The storyline is totally ridiculous now. Christian churches and priests in heaven and then a boss of heaven who babbles about many lifetimes and reincarnation.

Not only that, the idea of reincarnation is showed so simplified and actually blames victims of any crime instead of the perpetrators. Following the logic of this show, it simply means (for example) that a 2-year-old girl who gets raped and brutally murdered by her own father is to blame herself because she did something bad in a prior life and so deserves this fate. I'm quite at a loss of words about this logic. Also this idea that blood-related families will have to meet over and over again in new life cycles - what a horrible thought for those children who have to endure careless, cruel, violent abusive and murdering parents. What a horrible thought that in this depicted 'heaven' they get only told that they have to meet these deranged foul souls over and over again, and there is no chance for them being reborn into good surroundings with DIFFERENT family member souls around them, an absolute, never-ending nightmare vision, that lacks any logic on top by the way. How should there be any possibility of progress in several life cycles, if a tortured child is reborn to the be the torturer instead? Which would mean, in the next life cycle the same soul would have to suffer terribly again for sinning in the last life and there would never be a possibility to break this negative cycle for anyone included.

This show should even have a severe trigger warning for people with PTSD, traumatic family histories and depression caused by family matters. What a load of....!

Why I dont pay too much attention to reviews

I am glad I chose to watch this series even though the reviews weren't great. I thoroughly enjoyed this series.
Was it the best? By no means. Was there way too much miscommunication? Yupppppp. And I agree where a couple reviews mentioned the flashbacks. Yes, they were annoying.
But all in all, I just enjoyed it for what it was. I thought the production was good, the acting was good, and I liked the story. Personally, im so used to the miscommunication plot angle I barely let it bother me anymore. Every drama i watch could be over in 2 episodes if there was communication. Im glad it was 8 episodes. Anymore and it would have bothered me and ruined the series.
I know everyone has an opinion and thats what makes it so great. My opinion is just give the series a chance. It might surprise you. 😊

=> Good series, not exciting, but interesting.

Good historical drama / Romance / Investigation

PLOT: The FL, a courtesan, escapes from the brothel by becoming an informant (and helping to solve the case) for the local magistrate (ML2). She ends up becoming a constable in his team. She meets the ML (a wealthy, spoiled, and carefree young nobleman) whom her father sent away to mature. He falls in love at first sight, but the FL & ML2 (engaged to the daughter of a governor) have developed feelings over the course of their investigations. In addition, a powerful and twisted character (Qin Yi) has long had his sights set on the FL... They'll all be caught in a whirlwind of plots, twists, and power struggles.

+++ A very good CL, endearing.
+++ A talented cast (including the Great Villain, who is as perverse and twisted as you can get).
+++ Superb production, with realistic costumes, sets, hairstyles, behaviors, etc.
+++ OSTs very well suited to the emotions conveyed.

### A few lengths, and the series isn't really addictive.

=> Good series, not exciting, but interesting.

Bon drama historique / Rom / Investigation
