No plot, no conflict, just adorable characters and pure fluff

It's hard for me to rate this drama because it's pure fluff without plot. Literally nothing happens. There's no conflict and no problem that can't be solved in 20 minutes. The opening credits give away the entire story. This is the kind of show where the female lead lives in a crowded dorm room and yet somehow has a different brand new coat to wear every day. But the drama hooked me anyway because it's absolutely adorable and it gave me 12 hours of escape from the cold cruel world which I really needed.

The main couple is the living embodiment of the sunshine/sunshine protector meme. Su Zaizai falls in love at first sight with Zhang Lu Rang and showers him with warm positivity through the whole show (she also looks like a living doll). Rang Rang starts out expressionless and monosyllabic because of the pressure he gets from his mother to be a school topper, but as he spends more and more time with Zaizai he gradually thaws out and one of the best parts of the show is watching him blossom into a warmer and happier person. He also has two dimples which makes it even better when he flashes one of his rare smiles.

The rest of the characters in the friendship group are very cute but underdeveloped. I would have liked to have spent more time on the second lead romance.

IF YOU ARE WATCHING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME, I AM JEALOUS OF YOU.

The first time i watched this show, I didn't expect anything, i was watching hidden love at that time because well everyone was watching it, then i also started watching this show and i loved it so much that i have probably re-watched it hundreds of times.
I find myself opening this show on Netflix whenever i am under the weather or sad. it is just that comforting.
i listen to the music a lot, especially the goodnight HEYT, we by sour moon (listen to this one on headphones when its raining, awesome!) and summer night open air movie. love these songs so much.
i love the main couple, its not because there isn't any drama, it is one of the reasons but the main reason is that they show us that self love is very important, if i cant love myself, giving someone else love is also not possible. we often get into relationships wanting to be loved, but this show taught me that its more about giving love and care to the one you love.

Lovely drama, worth watching over and over again.

When I fly towards you, wow Su Zaizai didn't fly but sticks to Zhang Lurang so much I love it. The story is quite simple yet it's not boring. First scene in the store during the rain literally made me like Zaizai, hooked by Lurang in this case the drama. I've never imagined enjoying a youth romance this hard, it's so cute. The main couple is so good, no big arguments, small misunderstandings but they handled it well. I envy them.
How about the other characters? I love them. The second couple makes this realistic for me. Jiajia and Guran made it enjoyable, they complement each other, it just sucks that they don't have longer scenes or their story weren't explored much but still they were fun. Guan Fang is also quite funny, makes a good friend for all of them. I love his story too with her grandmother, I hope he finds himself a partner.
Cinematography? Top notch. I love the low ground, lowkey, and pretty colors of the drama. The places they choose as well is pretty and amazing. And the tone, it was never so fast never so slow. The background music is heart warming as well.
Overall, this drama is so rewatchable for me. I would gladly take watching Wifty over and over as a punishment, It feels like whenever I watch it again I found small things that really add to the watchability of it. The actors they choose is also cute. I hope to watch more of this fun, cute, lovely dramas.

MY COMFORT PLACE.....

When I Fly Towards You is one of those rare light-hearted, feel-good youth dramas that instantly becomes your comfort watch. It takes you on a wholesome journey with five friends as they navigate school and college together, but at its heart, it’s the beautiful love story of Zhang Lurang and Su Zaizai that steals the show. From their first accidental meeting on a rainy day — where she scolds him without even knowing who he is — to reuniting in school, their connection unfolds so naturally it feels real. Su Zaizai slowly but surely makes Zhang Lurang feel seen, valued, and wanted. She heals wounds she didn’t cause, and never once asks for anything in return. Watching Lurang, who’s been haunted by childhood neglect and comparison, open up to her… it’s something else. Their relationship goes from strangers ➝ friends ➝ lovers➝Life parters in the sweetest, most organic way, and honestly, it was the softest emotional rollercoaster I’ve ever ridden.

This drama doesn’t waste time on annoying tropes like unnecessary misunderstandings, toxicity, or unnecessary side character's drama. Even the few “annoying” characters barely scratch the surface of what Rangrang and Zaizai share. Their bond is unshakable — built on trust, respect, loyalty, and constant communication. They’re always there for each other, always have each other’s backs, and watching their love grow felt so healing. Their dating phase?? ADORABLE. The little moments of jealousy, the awkward flirting, the way they’d get flustered but never mad healed my own trauma. That love confession scene on their first date and Zaizai’s awkwardness after that, her genuine shock when he confessed, and then that little hand-holding moment later where they were both blushing along with the viewers... I wanted to melt into a puddle. And don’t even get me started on their first kiss — it wasn’t over-the-top or dramatic. It was the most peaceful, emotionally satisfying kiss I’ve seen in a drama. That moment where she fell asleep on his shoulder, and he wanted to kiss her but hesitated, and then she suddenly woke up, gave him a shy peck out of nowhere, and panicked while he smiled and kissed her gently — that was EVERYTHING. More meaningful than any aggressive, dramatic kiss ever could be.

Rangrang and Zaizai aren’t just lovers — they’re best friends, soulmates and each other’s escape from the harsh world. The way they love, protect, and believe in one another set the standard so high, I don’t think I’ll ever recover. And the second couple?? Chaotic, hilarious, and adorable. The whole enemies-to-lovers vibe was perfect, and their love confession felt so honest, raw, and innocent that it made me emotional. And Even Guan Fang, our loveable fool, didn’t get a love story, he made sure we all fell in love with his innocence and hilarious charm.

This drama had everything I search for — the friendships, the romance, the growth, the healing, the summer nostalgia, and the pure serotonin. Watching Rangrang slowly gain confidence because of Zaizai, finally start believing in his own worth — that hit deep. And during the proposal scene....I SOBBED. If someone ever confessed and proposed to me the way he did with such sincerity and uniqueness, I’d scream yes while crying hysterically. That scene alone raised the bar for real love. And not just because of Zhang Lurang, but because of Su Zaizai too — she’s the kind of person I want to be for someone I love.

And watching their wedding scene was such a pure and emotional experience. We’ve seen them grow through school, university, and into their careers — step by step, side by side — and to witness them stepping into marriage felt like the most bittersweet gift. On one hand, I was so happy for them, watching them move into this beautiful new phase of their lives. But on the other hand, I was saying goodbye… to their journey, to the characters, and to the warmth this story brought me. All I could do was smile with tears in my eyes, overwhelmed by love, nostalgia, and a deep sense of peace.

This is my forever comfort drama. No other show has made me feel this safe, this full, this understood. Thank you, Zhu Yi, for creating such a beautiful world, for giving us these perfectly flawed, loveable characters, and for reminding us what real, healthy, soul-anchoring love looks like. I wouldn’t change a single thing — because it really is that perfect.

most comforting and nostalgic drama that beautifully captures the essence of youth

this is genuinely one of the best coming of age shows i've ever watched and can always bring me to tears just thinking about these characters and their beautiful friendships and journey through life together. the cinematography complements this mood so well and will be rewatching. very nostalgic if you know what i mean and i aspire to have this kind of friendship and relationship. love how they explored all of the main characters' storylines and romances (not guan fang tho lol hes single for life haha) and i felt connected with them in every way possible. im shocked they managed to pack so much in in 24 episodes without making it feel too rushed. their relationship development and character growths were done so well and had me kicking my feet and giggling countless times as well as taking a lap around the room in second hand embarrassment. such a heartwarming show i can always turn towards, highly recommend!!

A drama that would stay with me for a long time.

This is a perfect drama in my heart and no one can tell me otherwise.

It's been more than a week since I watched this and I've watched many shows since then but I still couldn't stop thinking about this. Seeing clips from the drama on social media still makes my heart flutter and reminds me of the best time I had watching this.

I think words can't explain how much I love everything about this drama. It makes me nostalgic for a past I didn't have. I was attached to all the characters and even though this wasn't supposed to be too sad, it unexpectedly made me cry. It seems as if I felt what they were going through. Maybe that is actually the secret formula. At least once in our lives, we also liked someone so much and hoped they liked us back. We found friends who felt like family.

Zhang Lurang is definitely a good man, a man written by a woman but I think the best character award goes to Su Zai Zai. She is confident and she knows her worth. She goes after what she wants. She is kind but she also stands up for herself when she knows she's right. Honestly, she's the kind of woman I hope to be.

I highly recommend this drama if you want a good drama that will leave you with a full and happy heart.

A fun, wholesome and beautiful drama

If you are looking for something wholesome and laid back to watch then this is THE drama for you.
It's very rare for me to fall in love with a drama this much....the story, the characters, the setting, the music - literally everything is perfect.....you might think I'm exaggerating a bit and maybe I am but this sure deserves it.....
While I fly towards you might not have the fast paced plot or the twists and turns or the thrill that all the other dramas have but it sure will stay with you forever.......this is the kind of story I can see myself watching over and over and never getting bored of.
The drama is soooo well written, well portrayed, well executed, it's hard to find a single flaw.
While I fly towards is a slow burn romance and I seriously just could NOT stop smiling at all those cute scenes between the leads and literally every other scene....
Along with the eye pleasing romance, the friendships are something to talk of..... the friendship between the characters is soooo strong and it's just soo heartwarming to watch them together..... also the relationship every character has with their families or teachers is just soo beautiful.....
It just feels like the whole drama is soo thought about and very well revised that there is literally nothing wrong with it...
I could go on and on praising this beautifully wholesome drama which hits you in all the right places but I'll just end it here saying that you guys need to watch this. ASAP.
EDIT: Even though I absolutely loved this drama, after completing it.... I have come to realize that this is a very idealistic plot and honestly very plain and simple....One could say that these are the charms of this drama......something to be watched in order to destress and smile....

This is the sweetest thing I've ever watched

The first few episodes are a little rough (FL second-hand embarrassment) but after that, it's just so sweet. I can't stop admiring the cast; they face very real familial problems, but have the cutest friendships, and it truly feels like you're growing up with them. It's one of those shows where, when it ends, you feel super bittersweet—it's like letting go of your children you've watched grow up. I think I cried a total of at least 10 times throughout the show... not from sadness or grief but just pure emotion. Sometimes I'm crying just because it's so sweet? I don't even know why.
The soundtrack is so good too. Sometimes shows are ruined by mid soundtracks but the songs in this feel so youthful and nostalgic. They truly make you feel the way you should be feeling in the scenes.
Last but not least, the casting is so good. Every so often I'll just admire how good-looking the cast is when I'm watching the show. I'm almost mad that Zhang Lurang isn't real because of how perfect he is.
On top of everything, there are no bad misunderstandings, healthy relationships, and the second leads have a good story too.

Overall, the show fully conveys what it intends—pure, wholesome youth.

My top 2 favorite drama ?

My favorite Top 2, after watching hidden love I didn't think I would find something so good and comfortable so soon, the feeling of a warm heart watching both this and hidden love is so good, I've watched both several times but I never get tired, talking about the drama itself, I went to see this because of the actress, I had already seen another work of hers and I really liked her, but after watching this she became my favorite Chinese actress, she is very charismatic and her joy is contagious and the couple su zazai and rang rang is wonderful, not to mention the friends, the secondary couple is so good that I wanted a drama just for them too, the 5 of them have perfect harmony and performed very well in the drama and of course there is a happy ending that I like, everything I like In dramas, there is this one, I am in love with this drama, I highly recommend it!!!

It Is so special.

oh my god. How do I move on. I watched it during the summer of my graduatoion,
this id gonns be so nostalgic. It has everything a romantic drama should have, funny
and lighthearted. Dare I say JangJia and Guran are better than the main couple, I wish
they had more screentime, I was literally kicking my feet over their scenes.
It doesn't contain any unnecessary dramas and misunderstanding, the plot has nothing particolar, but still stands out. Definetely worth the hype.
The most youthful drama I've ever seen, I'll carry it with me <3
