I loved loved loved this one. Here's why:

The FL was so cute without being cringe at all! I've watched a few dramas where the FL is like over the top sweet, and it just seems so weird, but Zhang Miao Yi played the part of Su Zai Zai perfectly. Zhou Yi Ran was also so handsome in this drama... I think it's his best drama.

As far as the plot goes... the first few episodes were harder to get through because of the military setting. I almost gave up on this show, but I'm glad I didn't! Once they got back to school, I was completely hooked.

I loved how supportive the characters all are of each other, as well as Guan Fang's relationship with his grandma!

The OST -- wow. I've listening to this on repeat for so many days, I don't think I can get over it 💖

I would definitely recommend this drama, especially if you've watched Hidden Love and enjoyed it. They're really similar -- they both are sweet, no jealous or cheating drams, although When I Fly Towards You is a bit more nostalgic in feel.

refreshing story

I haven’t watched a drama like this that was so good and refreshing and made me want more. There love story makes me feel overwhelmed with joy and love that I couldn’t get enough of it, especially now that it’s over. this drama will always have a special place in my heart because of the male and female lead. they were so uplifting for eachother and never doubted their love for eachother which made the drama even better. even though they had hardships their love never broke but made them value eachother even more. they are such a cute couple and will love this drama forever…❤️

A lovely teenage drama.

It’s my third drama that was written by Zhu Yi and her dramas never disappoint. First, “Hidden love” and then “The first frost”. Now, it’s “When I fly towards you”.
I didn’t want to believe the hype but I should have and earlier. I watched it after finishing “The first frost” since I love loved it and found out they were written by the same author. I didn’t think it would make my heart melt. I thought that it was just a regular high school drama but it was so much better.
The friendships, the relationships – they are all well written. The story is not complicated yet beautiful. I have no words to describe how much I loved the friendship of the lovely quintet. I don’t remember the last time I laughed or smiled so much in another drama I have watched. It made me feel so much happy. It’s certainly because of the cutest banters they had between. The digital dairy that Su Zai Zai had is what I want to have as well. It contains so much lovely memories. I haven’t finished high school yet it makes me miss it already. Having friends like them in real life might as well be the best thing!
RangRang and ZaiZai are the cutest couple possible. It started from a little high school crush. It was lovely to see how they went through separations but ended up together in the end. Their confession and the embarrassment ZaiZai had to go through gave me second hand embarrassment but it was quite adorable on its own. Besides, this is the reason why the novel is called “She is a little crazy”
Jiang Jia and Gu Ran were also a cute couple. The way they didn’t admit their feelings but the way they cared so much about one another was like a silent confession. I adored them so much.
Guan Fang, another well written character. The fact that he changed for his grandma gave him the best character arc possible and he is surely the best 5th wheel among the two couple!
Overall, it was the best mix of high school, growing up and friendship drama. It is so sad that it ended quickly but I understand that it was to make the drama less draggy. The drama ended in the best way possible and the proposal, I don’t even want to explain how lovable and unique it was. I regret how I finished this quickly but grateful for watching it at the same time. Simply the sweetest masterpiece!

Sweet Love with Amazing Friendship

If you’re looking for a sweet romance and a great friend group that follows their youth to adulthood, this is a must watch!
STORY: The story was amazing and I like how everyone was a green flag in the friend group. The communication and trust between the two main leads makes this an even more refreshing drama to enjoy!
ACTING/CASTING: I love all of the actors and casting. There were some actresses that really made me dislike there character so that just enforce how everyone is so good!
MUSIC: LOVE LOVE LOVE the music. The OST adds to the sweet and lovely moments!
REWATCH: I would definitely rewatch this when I miss the characters. This is going to stay as one of my favorite Chinese drama for a long time!

YAY TO FLUFFY DRAMAS MAKING YOUR HEART HAPPY + HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS (!!!)

Title says it all! I'm a bit late to watching this drama, but after a year of a huge drama drought where it was hard to find anything genuinely worth watching from beginning to end, THIS WAS SUCH A BREATH OF FRESH AIR! I wish I could've recorded myself watching this drama because I smiled the entire time. It was that wholesome and good. <3

This drama is from the POV of Su Zai Zai, our protagonist and FL. As many others have pointed out, the actress, Zhang Miao Yi, did a great job pulling off the cutesy-but-not-annoying-or-cringey character. It was the type of cute where you're like "if I was a guy, I would totally have a crush on her. She's so adorable." And OMG OUR RANG RANG <3333333 Honestly Zhou Yiran's dimples WERE SO CUTE BC EVERYTIME HE SMILED I WAS LIKE AHHHHHHHHHH SO CUTE!!! I absolutely LOVED how Zhang Lurang was not your typical cold, genius, super good at everything ML. He seemed like a real person, who despite seeming "cold" at first, is actually super warm and def a man that loves HARD. The relationship between SZZ and ZLR was so healthy to see, which I really think we need to see more of in C-dramas. The relationship between the second leads, Gu Ran and Jiang Jia was also absolutely endearing to see. As many others have pointed out, I would watch a drama based off of their relationship as well :) And Guan Fang + his relationship with his grandma was soooo sweet. I just lost my grandmother recently, so seeing how much grandma + grandson cared for each other meant a lot to me.

The first 19 or so episodes are about their high school life, from how the group of 5 met in 10th grade (LOL) to graduation in 12th grade. It then follows their life in university and beyond. If you look at some of the other dramas I've watched, I absolutely love dramas that follow the characters over a long period of time. I always love seeing how characters have changed, since we clearly aren't the same people from high school to college, much less from high school to our working life.

I only write reviews for SUPER SUPER GOOD DRAMAS, so please DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!! Do it for the most endearing friendships, romantic relationships, DRAMA FREE PLOT, and heart + head-soothing story. Seriously. Do yourself a favor, stop scrolling on MDL, and go watch this drama. There's a reason it's rated so highly.

I accidentally watched this drama because I saw Zhang Lurang in another drama haha. And on my tiktok,lots of videos are scattered about this drama.In the first place,I like seeing how Su Zaizau made Zhang Lurang like her.Then,in the middle of the episode I realized the power of their friendship.This drama made me think back to my high school days.It's not only about Zhang Lurang and Su Zaizai's love, but also about great friendship.Of course,this drama is decorated a lot about their romance.I learned what true love is. How they strengthen each other. Ahh,I want to find my Zhang Lurang.This drama is also very related to my life.how our parents always compare us so that I feel inferior and have no trust.That feeling is still in me to this day.The difference is that I don't have a partner like Rang Rang and Zaizai.Anyway,I really thank this drama.I cried watching it of course with a happy smile.谢谢朗朗和再宰，再见.👋🏻❤️

WATCH IT!! U WILL NOT REGRET I PROMISE

SO SO AMAZING. I finished this drama in like 2 days best time spent. icl, in the beginning, I didn't have the greatest expectations however it sooo lives up to its hype. I kept seeing this on my tiktok so I thought why not give it a go? BEST DECISION. I was legit kicking my feet and shi EVERY EPISODE and this NEVER happens for me. Not a single dull moment, the episodes and moments are timed sooo perfectly that before a boring second can even arrive it's already moved on to the next scene. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if u want to be happy and feel soo nostalgic (even tho I'm still in hs lol). ANDDD,, I didn't even skip a single scene for the second couple which is a rarity, as I usually do for other dramas bc second couple usually boring as, buttt not this couple! OK, enough said, u MUST WATCH IT!!!!

Be still my youthful heart...

This gem has renewed my hope in dramas.

This was such a well written story with lovable characters and realistic reactions to situations.

I appreciate how fiery and strong the FL was, especially when someone tried to make moves on her Rang Rang in college.

And that Rang Rang .. his character was so well developed.

You can see how her bubbly, shining love for him helped heal him and how his quiet but steady presence gave her courage.

The things he did from early on showed how deeply he already cared for her.

The second couple was sweet too.

The way he quietly loved her for so many years and supported her was beautiful.

The friendship the 5 of them had was stellar.

The humor - ah the humor.

There were so many times I found myself laughing like a fool and it was usually over some well placed comment.

I loved how the ML backed the FL and vice versa.

I could go on and on, but I will just say if you haven' watched this yet, do it.

It was such a breathe of fresh air.

I rated the re watch value a little lower because this was a wonderful story that did all it needed to the first time around.

The best youth drama!!

This is extremely good! It has become the best youth drama for me. Very light, wholesome, relaxing, such a beautiful and peaceful love story. They have the healthiest relationship, their love is so pure. ML and FL are so cute together. They have an amazing chemistry, it felt real and the cast is adorable. I love it when she says Rang Rang, so sweet! I’m excited to rewatch it on Viki, just waiting for all the episodes to be released.
I highly recommend it. It’s beautifully made, well directed, good script, no unnecessary, dragged plots and the whole cast is lovable. I will be revisiting this series over and over again. I love it so much. Watching it gives me so much joy.

Partners and Friends for Life.

I watched this and expected lot of tropes and fluff...but boy, was I wrong. This drama skyrocketed on the top of my fave youth dramas. The story and the acting was just perfect.

I liked and loved watching all 5 of them grow up. The friendship of GF LR ZZ JJ and GR made me realize how relationships formed through being the good and the bad and everything in between makes the bond of friendship beautiful, nostalgic, and perfect.

The story was paced well. It never felt rushed despite the fast track from senior high to college to their adult life.

Likes:
-ZZ and LR - After the cp of one and only and forever and ever. These two are the healthiest couple in cdramaland. Since they were friends to til when they were in a relationship, they have no misunderstandings, defined goals as individuals and as a couple, they literally grew up together.
-GR and JJ - the typical enemies to friends to lovers, they bicker like cats and dogs but when one is in need the other is there. Their love story developed late but didn't feel rushed at all.
-GF and Granny - was so happy the writer didn't give him a love story bit his character embodied a filial grandson and good friend. A third wheel to his friends that are a couple.
Granny is a friend to these kids. She imparted very good advice and slice of life words to all of them.

Dislike:
LR parents - their favoritism towards LR younger brother ruined the brothers relationship. If the younger brother didn't stand up to them and runaway would LR still suffer from their mistreatment The brother wanted a relationship with his LR but because of them LR became wary of his own brother. I hated them.
YZX - that classmate who kept on trying to set up and ruin ZZ. She should have been expelled after all that.

If it wasn't for LR parents would have scored this a 10

24 eps is just enough but felt like it was not enough.

I like the last voice over:

LR: "If fate could have told me in advance that I would meet such a person could I have chosen to meet her a little earlier?...It was like a hint that my light was coming."
ZZ: "It was that glance, just that quick glance that brought ius together for life. So precisely.


The ost is so good and it fit the drama and the lyrics are just perfect for the moments they were played for.

Definitely a must rewatch.
