Watch and spiral

I don't have much to say other than it was amazing.

Patpran feel so alive, and the way their relationship developed felt REAL and natural. It didn’t feel rushed and it wasn’t dragged out either. Most of the show is them actually together without unnecessary drama to push the storyline forward or create tension, and I appreciate that sooo much.
When I watched it the first time, Ill be honest, I didn't really like it. I found it slow at times and too long and oh boy I wish I could go back and yell at my past self. It's /so/ good, and ill forever hold it in my heart *sob*. Watch it I beg.

Great For a One-Off OhmNanon Series

I’m glad this is a one-off ship of OhmNanon. Fight me on this but I think Nanon ruined Ohm for BL. For Nanon, this was just a stepping stone for him to get more straight roles as exhibited by his work that followed. He has said that he only took this role to add BL to his repertoire. Following this, some said Ohm said he will not longer do any more BL. I hope this isn’t true now that they are on the outs and Ohm has been hanging out with a lot of the BL boys of GMMTV lately with the LOL Fanfest. I mean, if Pond wasn’t in Dirty Laundry, I would’ve not watch Nanon’s lead role series. It speaks volume of Nanon as an actor when he does this kind of series and Ohm went to do 10 Ticket and Double Savage. I know Nanon is one of GMMTV favorite but I don’t get it. Ohm is a vastly superior actor. Nanon should stick to singing as it seems to be his thing.

As a BL fan, I must say that Thai school BLs have never been my cup of tea, often seeming to target schoolgirls and childlike adults with their magical rainbows and unicorns. However, I was pleasantly surprised with "Bad Buddy" as it veered away from the typical high school setting and took place in a university. It presented a compelling Romeo and Juliet-esque tale of star-crossed lovers from rival families.

From a young age, Pran and Pat's families had an intense rivalry, competing in every aspect of life. Naturally, this rivalry extended to their sons, making them rivals as well. But as fate would have it, despite the familial animosity, they grew tired of the constant tension and eventually became close friends. Their friendship blossomed, but due to their families' feud, they had to keep it a secret. After parting ways during high school, fate reunites them when they enter the same university and end up living in the same dorm with rooms across from each other. As they reignited their friendship, they discovered there was more to their feelings this time around. The series beautifully portrays their journey of self-discovery and first love, while navigating the challenges posed not only by their parents' rivalry but also by the rivalry between their university faculties.

The development of their relationship was far from glossed-over magic, as we often see in Thai school BLs. Instead, "Bad Buddy" took the time to build a genuine connection between the characters. As the story unfolds, they unearth the real reasons behind the family feud and face parental opposition to their relationship. In a bold move, Pat and Pran decide to run away together to explore their feelings. It is during their time away that they truly fall in love and solidify their relationship. Upon returning home, they face the consequences of their actions and work to gain acceptance with their families with the support of their friends.

"Bad Buddy" offered a unique and refreshing storyline, which sets it apart from many Thai school BLs that often portray the magical instant attraction between two boys without much development. It truly delivered on the emotional journey and didn't rely on clichéd tropes. This series has become a personal favorite of mine, as it demonstrates that BL can be much more than just fluffy romance, but rather a compelling and heartwarming tale of growth and love.

Unforgettable, Undeniable, Unmissable: Bad Buddy

Bad Buddy is one of the most special series I’ve ever watched. It wasn’t just a show — it was an emotional journey that touched my heart in every single scene. The chemistry between Pat and Pran felt so real, so genuine, I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. Their love, friendship, stubbornness, and heartbreak… every emotion was portrayed in the purest way. This isn’t just a BL; it’s a story filled with powerful messages about family pressure, identity, friendship, and love. The acting, the soundtrack, the direction — everything was flawless. There were scenes that made me laugh, cry, and just sit in silence, feeling everything. Before you start watching, prepare your heart — because once you’ve seen Bad Buddy, nothing feels the same. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone; Bad Buddy is truly a masterpiece.

this was actually very good and well made, i get why ohmnanon fans are so annoying
ohm and nanon had great chemistry and their banter was fun. their conflicts were also handled very well and their relationship progress was fun to watch.
i started to watch this for milklove, watching milk play such a cool girl after seeing her in 23.5 is such a change.
the friend groups were also good. its great how they did justice to the main characters and a side couple within 12 episodes

Truly the best romance in the world!

Romeo and Juliet meets West Side Story meets the best romance I’ve ever watched, possibly the best romance that has ever been made? Nanon is such a good actor in this I will never shut up about it. The way he cries before they run away together. How tired he is when they are on the roof together and Pat keeps insinuating that he maybe likes him and he’s just like please don’t do this to me. The “do you want us to be friends?” “No”. The bet to see who falls in love first when they are both so clearly already in love? The healthiest couple to ever be featured in a Thai bl? The inevitability of it all? The fact that they keep being told to be enemies in every scenario all through their lives just to always find that they enjoy each others company. That they are friends. The way they find out they can’t be enemies but they don’t want to be friends. The fact that Pran has been waiting for this for such a long time, and Pat just discovered it and immediately had to do something about it. The way destiny keeps pulling them together, born to be roomates/neighbours. How can this not be the best modern love story? How can you not cry when the last episode starts the way it starts? How can you love any series more than this when it is truly the most beautiful portrait of young love! Think of that one scene in the montage of them trying to see who falls in love first where they just quickly hold hands on the bus stop! When they hold hands behind Pats sister! When his sister is trying to come in the room and they won’t open the door cause they just keep kissing each other! How Pat just gives up on this stupid game so easily! Climbing on roofs to get to each others houses? It’s so good everyone should watch this.

Literally my favorite BL ever

I love this show with my whole being. I went in not expecting to love it as much as I did, but the story and the characters were amazing. I highly recommend you watch this. I think its a good beginner show to watch, its not too spicy and the plot is so good. I also enjoyed the fact that there was only one couple and we could really focus on their story and not have others.

Bad Buddy is undoubtedly a series I would relish watching repeatedly.

Bad Buddy: The Series provided an exhilarating viewing experience. Each episode, released weekly, captivated me, leaving me eagerly awaiting the subsequent installment. The series maintained a consistent pace, ensuring there were no dull moments. Unlike other GMMTV productions, it exuded a unique freshness that set it apart. The exceptional on-screen chemistry between the main leads was fun to watch, enhancing the overall narrative. Their dynamic performances truly anchored the show. Bad Buddy is undoubtedly a series I would relish watching repeatedly. Bad Buddy stands out as one of the best BL dramas I've ever watched, and my second viewing was just as captivating as the first. Nanon and Ohm, portraying Pran and Pat, share incredible chemistry that gives me a delightful tingle during their scenes. Their gaze, hand-holding, and the charming moments of puppy love create an enchanting experience.

The storyline is truly impressive, marked by a well-paced plot that never drags. Integrating brands seamlessly into the narrative was a clever touch that didn't feel intrusive. This BL is a prime example of a well-written and brilliantly acted series, offering a comforting and satisfying viewing experience. While I'd love a season 2, the excellence of season 1 leaves me content.

Having watched over 50 BLs, I confidently rank Bad Buddy in my top 3 favorites, if not the number one spot at times. It's a must-watch for those seeking a show with a engaging storyline, impeccable acting, and a perfect balance of emotions.

The performances of the main leads are superb, with seamless chemistry that makes them feel like a real-life couple. The emotional scenes are particularly striking, with Ohm portraying Pat's playful yet serious tone brilliantly, and Nanon conveying every emotion through his expressive eyes. Bad Buddy is a show I can't stop praising for its greatness.

this is a loooong review lol - after 4 years, i finally decided to make a review

when gmmtv released bad buddy series in 2021, it instantly became a standout in the bl genre—and for good reason. instead of leaning on tired clichés or melodrama, it gave us a story that was light, funny, heartfelt, and groundbreaking in the way it handled lgbtq+ themes.

the plot follows pat (ohm pawat) and pran (nanon korapat), neighbors turned rivals thanks to their feuding families. what begins as playful competition slowly grows into a tender love story, filled with witty banter, quiet longing, and the kind of chemistry that makes every moment between them sparkle.

ohm and nanon’s performances carry the series effortlessly. nanon gives pran a gentle but firm depth, while ohm brings pat’s impulsiveness and warmth to life. together, they create one of the most natural, believable romances in the genre—funny, vulnerable, and utterly captivating. the chemistry between ohm and nanon is undeniable; every glance, every smile, every argument feels charged with authenticity, making their pairing one of the strongest the industry has seen.

but what really made bad buddy special was how it challenged common bl stereotypes. unlike many series where characters feel the need to justify themselves with lines like “i’m straight, but i like him,” pat and pran never once questioned their attraction or identity. their love was treated as natural, not something to be explained away. the show also avoided the outdated “husband and wife” dynamic often assigned to queer couples—instead, it portrayed them as equals, partners who balanced each other beautifully.

the family angle was another refreshing touch. while pat and pran’s parents initially opposed their relationship due to long-standing grudges, it was never about homophobia. in fact, the show was clear that both families were perfectly fine with whoever their sons dated. the conflict was rooted in rivalry, not prejudice—a small but meaningful shift that set this series apart from many others.

the side characters added richness, too. ink and pa (love pansa and milk pansa) became an iconic sapphic pairing, bringing more representation and chemistry that resonated strongly with fans. their scenes, though fewer, were impactful and celebrated just as much as the leads. pat and pran’s friends also played crucial roles in shaping the story—wai with his protective loyalty toward pran, whose conflict with pat added layers of tension and realism, and korn, pat’s best friend, who served as the voice of reason and constant support. their involvement didn’t just fill space; it grounded the series in friendships that felt just as important as the romance itself.

another standout element was the soundtrack. songs like “just friend?” and “our song” didn’t just act as background music—they carried pat and pran’s emotions, narrating their hidden feelings when words weren’t enough. the lyrics mirrored their journey from rivalry to love, making the music feel like a second storyteller. it’s rare for a soundtrack to align so perfectly with the narrative, but here, it amplified every stolen glance, every heartbreak, and every moment of joy.

of course, the series wasn’t flawless. some pacing dips happen midway, and certain family conflicts wrapped up a little too neatly. but these are minor compared to the larger achievement: a bl that managed to be both entertaining and quietly revolutionary.

---

final thoughts: bad buddy series is not just one of gmmtv’s best—it’s one of the most important bl dramas of its time. it proved that love stories don’t need to rely on harmful tropes, stereotypes, or forced identity struggles to be compelling. instead, it gave us a romance that was equal, sincere, and full of warmth—supported by standout performances, unforgettable side characters, a soundtrack that beautifully told the story of pat and pran, and the kind of chemistry between ohm and nanon that feels rare and magical. years later, it remains a benchmark for how to tell lgbtq+ stories with both heart and respect.

even years after it first aired, the series still holds a special place in fans’ hearts. people continue to talk about it, rewatch it, and recommend it because it wasn’t just another drama—it was a love story that felt genuine, respectful, and timeless. bad buddy didn’t just set a new standard for bl dramas, it became a comfort show, one that reminds us that love—when it’s true—doesn’t need to explain or justify itself.

this is my comfort BL drama for sure.... whenever I feel like I am in a bad mood or I feel exhausted with my life I watch this bI to see their friendship the love the cuteness the forbidden trope and bl gl trope, the one sided love the enemies to lovers........
I love the actors nanon and ohm .....
they are great
I especially loved iat when pat realises that he is in love with pran ....
the moment of realisation in his eyes is beautiful
their first kiss was one of the best kisses in BL history
the kiss was kind of letting go of what the parents what their relationship to be like and accepting what their heart wants.....
the scene in which pat loudly confuses to pran is sooooo beautiful
there are a lot of people who don't think that this is the best BL ever but I am not a very critical person while watching a bl and may be that's why I loved this drama and I always watch this
and every time I watch this BL I love it even more
the actors did a good job in portraying there roles and I am very happy that I could watch this drama anytime I want
if you think this drama is bad I don't know what to say to you but I loved it

I am not looking into this drama in a critical way but I am just looking it to it how my heart wants to look at it I love this drama and will always recommend anyone to watch it

the actors had great chemistry and they were very cute too
I know that the actors don't have a friendship as of now but I am happy that patpran will always have a great relationship in my mind........
and I really really loved our Sky 2 bad buddy
even though I did feel like in our Sky 2 the characters seem to be a little distant and their chemistry had gone little low

I think this is one of the best bl's made and I will always come back to this for ever

and I hope that you will enjoy this drama too
