Misogynist and Money Hungry
Never know my excitement can turn to disappointment so fast. what was ur obsession adding realistic view to fantasy genre? Are u reading the sources material at all?? What is the urgency changing the bullied victim become the bully?? What is ur excuses for reducing all woman character story?? Are u misogynist people that insecure?? Dreaming for 2nd movie when u change so much to the point there's no room for development. ur so shameless. Not mentioned the CGI is so BAD. U should be grateful with one star. Was this review helpful to you?
This movie made me cry
This movie made me cry SO BAD. That’s how dissapointed I am with this. This whole movie is an insult to ss-nim and to all the characters of orv, specially Kim Dokja. There’s so much I want to complain about but I will just pretend that this thing never existed. I wish they never make a new movie about orv or even touch orv. I feel so bad for ss-nim, imagine seeing your masterpiece, a novel that people all over the world absolutely loved, be butchered just like that. All your hard work to make orv as the orv that we know of, the orv with one of the most beautiful, complex storyline and characters, all down the drain because some selfish people who took your story for granted. I will NEVER EVER support this movie. We didn’t even ask for much. We NEVER even ask for a live action. Was this review helpful to you?
This is basically the Snow White LA of Korean film industry
From the cast to the CGI everything in this movie sucks. This wouldn't have happened if they'd been faithful to the original work and selected actors who have vibes similar to the characters in the novel. The same thing happened with the Snow White live action. They changed almost the entire og plot and still had the audacity to expect people to be interested. If you want to be creative so bad, MAKE SOMETHING ENTIRELY NEW. STOP RUINING THINGS THAT OTHER PEOPLE ENJOY!!Was this review helpful to you?
Probably just googled the characters name then made a script. Not considered an adaptation
The only saving grace for this movie was the actor themselves. The script is generic. Bad CGI too. They had good casted actors but decided to use a trash superhero generic script.
Used Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint in the title, but the Main Character is no longer an Omniscient being nor a dedicated reader. Made the main character who was a victim of bullying a bully.
Disregarded all of the character’s backstory, personality and skill. Just took their names. That’s it.
If they have used a different title and just marketed it as a movie inspired from a book, they might have gotten better reception. Overall, felt like a filler movie.
They should have spent more budget on script writing. Or hired someone who already read the book to write it. Or gotten the author to talk to the actors to explain how the characters would have felt in those scenes.

Ts is ass
The story is totally different from the novel. Why make a live action of it when you’re gonna change the whole plot anyways?? Might as well drop it. I can’t find a single good thing to say about this live action. At first, I was excited for a live action but man, I’m 100% disappointed. Like fym kdj’s a bully? He was the one who was bullied. And fym his fav is heewon 💔 I hope this movie will flopWas this review helpful to you?
As someone who hasn’t read the book
I think this genuinely was a great movie as someone who hasn’t read the book before. I keep seeing bad reviews but I do think it was actually a great action/fantasy film and was very good. The acting and graphics was really good. again I could understand how people would be disappointed if it didn’t follow the books storyline but all in all I do think that this is a really good entertaining movie that had good acting, graphics and an overall flow. also was good to see a good variety of actors. Was this review helpful to you?
BULLSHIT LA
There is absolutely no way anyone who truly read ORV gave this movie a pass. Like… were the writers even aware of what they were adapting?? Because this ain’t it. This was Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint in name only—every character, every plotline, every single thing that made the original special was thrown in a blender and set on fire.As someone who actually lived through the web novel like it was my second life, I feel personally betrayed. Kim Dokja? Reduced to a passive NPC. Joonghyuk? Just another angsty male lead with zero nuance. Don’t even get me started on Yoo Sangah—she had more presence in ONE CHAPTER of the webtoon than she did in the entire film.
The CGI? It looked like something from a 2008 game trailer. The narration? Cringe. The direction? Confused. The plot? So butchered that even Dokja wouldn’t recognise what timeline we’re in. They skipped entire arcs, rewrote character personalities, and somehow made a story about surviving apocalypse scenarios feel… boring.
It’s almost impressive how they took one of the most compelling and meta web novels of our generation and made it completely unwatchable.
To anyone new who watched this and thought “meh, it’s mid”—PLEASE, for the love of the constellations, read the original. This movie is not even the tip of the iceberg; it’s the shattered remains of the iceberg, left in a microwave.

The shittiest adaption known to mankind
From the desk of the Prophet,I have seen countless timelines unfold, but none more tragic than the butchery committed in the name of “adaptation.” They took a tapestry of subtlety and wonder—woven by the Original Author’s deft hand—and set it aflame with their clumsy torches of spectacle and shallow thrills.
First, they stripped away the soul of Dokja. In the pages, he was a reluctant hero forged by loss, whose quiet courage resonates like distant thunder. On their screen, he is but an empty husk reciting lines borrowed from a comic book, devoid of doubt, nuance, or that ache of vulnerability that made us root for him. They traded his fragile humanity for hollow swagger, and in doing so, they murdered the very heart of his journey.
Then came the betrayal of Yoo Joonghyuk—once a figure of inscrutable menace and reluctant ally—now rebranded as a frat‑boy caricature, grunting through every scene. The silent tension, the slow burn of their rivalry, evaporated into cheap rival‑boss banter. They chopped out the layered pasts, the scars—both visible and buried—leaving only a shell unworthy of the name.
And oh, the world-building! The Original Author painted landscapes where gods and monsters danced on the edge of reality. Here, we are treated to cardboard backdrops and exploding pixels, as if depth could be faked by a flashy cut‑scene. The Portal World became a tourist attraction rather than a crucible of despair and hope.
To call this travesty “The Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” is the cruelest irony. They have robbed us of knowledge and stripped us of perspective. We are left with hollow echoes of what once was—a ruin where the masterpiece used to stand. May these ashes serve as a warning: not every page belongs to the eye of the camera.

No way this thing got me running my phone to make an acc here just to write a bad review
Listen, idk any much about orv, I'm gonna confess that, but even I who haven't read both novel and manhwa know that this live acting is straigh up the inventor of trash.I know the basics in orv:
1. KDJ LOVES YJH. He's his favourite, causing the famous "I am Yoo Joonghyuk" line, but to think that they would make KDJ love ANOTHER CHARACTER???
2. KDJ DOESN'T DESPISE TWSA. He read that damn novel for 13 years, you think someone who despises a novel would read it for 13 years? Heck I couldn't even stand a day if I'm reading a novel I despise. How did i know he read TWSA despite jot reading the novel or manhwa? SIMPLE SEARCHING ON GOOGLE YOUR RETARDED MFING BASTARDS, ARE YOU THAT LAZY TO SEARCH WHETHER KDJ ADORES OR DESPISES TWSA?!!?!!???
3. YOO SANGAH AS THE MFING HEALER, AKA JUST A SUPPORT. Listen, I usually only know three characters from orv but I did my research. HOW DID AN ASSASSIN END UP AS A HEALER???? How did someone with a role like that get nerfed as a support?? I did my research, I read things about Yoo Sangah, and HER becoming a healer? A female character who fought for her rights, to become independent and escape the stereotypical female human the men make them to be . A complete bullshit. As a woman myself, them reducing Yoo Sangah's role as healer, a role mostly given to females because they're only used as a support, this is enough for me to be ticked of.
4. Bihyung.... Do I really have to tell this...? It's so fking obvious that there will be a lot of hate on Bihyung's design. They made Bihyunh look like a labubu, and as someone who never liked our understand the hype in labubu, I despise his design, like, we're ate the white fluffy fur?? Why do they have to nerf Bihyung and turn his fur like a monkey's fur💔
This love action just gave me more motivation to read the novel and the manhwa instead of watching that thing that you couldn't even call a live action and associate it with orv

Trash trash trash
Have you ever heard of trash? This is worse. Even Begining after the end's anime's better than this sh*t. And the casting? God help me. Maybe the most useless one they could come up with. And gun instead of sword? Just d*e. The make up and character design? Even cosplayer are better then actors nowadays. You guys should boycott it really. Was this review helpful to you?
To director
As a long-time fan of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, I’m honestly heartbroken and angry about how the live-action adaptation is being handled. You didn’t just “adapt” the story — you changed its soul.
ORV isn’t just about action or survival. It’s about identity, loneliness, and the journey of someone who’s always been a side character in his own life. Kim Dokja’s perspective as the reader, the emotional weight of the constellations, the bookmark system, the dokkaebis — all of that made ORV unique. Why throw it away?
What we’re seeing now feels like a completely different story using the ORV name for hype.
Fans didn’t wait years for this just to get a shallow version of a masterpiece.
Yes, we get that adaptations require changes — but this? This feels like betrayal.
It’s not about being “loyal to the source” word for word — it’s about respecting the heart of it.
We laughed, cried, and grew with these characters. We are not just “viewers” — we are a community. And we deserve better than this.

those who think this an exaggeration it's not
orv is in the big 3 or 4 of novels and you completely butcher the character and everything they stand for, those who have read the story know how soulless it makes the characters and how mysogynistic it is to characters to sangah and heewon and how bad they made gilyoung's character, you could have just said it's a inspired story it would have been fine even the authors sound disappointed from their interview but can't just outright say it because of public imageWas this review helpful to you?
