Started out well…

I enjoyed the beginning of this drama very much. I love Ahn Hyo-seop and my girlie from Vincenzo. I’ve seen a fair share of time travel pieces and goodness, what a mess. It started with little questions that turned into larger ones. The timeline ended up becoming more confusing, and I’ve seen Tenet, and someone else mentioned this is the K-Drama version.. I can’t disagree!

By the last 3 episodes, I was checked out. It was outstretched and felt like it hit a standstill. Wish I could’ve liked this more. New K-Dramas have been very hit or miss this year, with most of them hitting then missing halfway through.

My Disappointment Is Immeasurable And My Day Is Ruined ( WATCH THE ORIGINAL )

What a horrible remake of a legendary script and such a great drama from 2020.
This drama is broken.
From script to screenplay to the main plot which involves ( time travel) everything is compromised, and the sole focus is on melodramatic romance which is ironically half baked in itself.
Horrendous.

And this is not the actor's fault, it's the director.
Just imagine if you had the opportunity to create a remake of such a great script, Nothing could go wrong if you inherited the direction but Nah, they had to insert the typical Korean flavour of melodrama in a time travel thriller, can you imagine?
I'm so disappointed I don't even want to write this review.
The times when you expect the best from the Korean drama industry are when they disappoint you the most .
The script has so many gaps, and once completed you don't feel the connection at all.
It's broken.
Even the side characters, oh yeah I completely forgot about them.
These guys abandoned them, with zero focus on side characters, can you imagine?

I wish I could shoot the director, and I'm not even kidding .

Don't watch this.
Just watch the original version of this drama named 'Someday or One Day' if you still haven't.
There are two versions of it.
Watch the drama first, the movie is secondary and is based on an alternate universe.

Overall, this drama lacks the charisma the original has.
Not a worthy remake at all.
I'm not saying this can't be watched, but why compromise on quality when you've something 1000 times better?

It's not everyday Taiwan produces a better script, acting, direction and songs than South Korea
.
' Someday or One day ' was the drama of the year 2020, and definitely deserves to be seen ahead of this.

Cheap version

I would never understand how we can enjoy this show which is a remake of a masterpiece that did not need another version.

Actors have fewer charisms, actors are less emotional. There is no soundtrack comparable to that of the Taiwanese version. Everyone who has seen the original version shouts for help.

There are remakes that should not exist and botch this masterpiece in fast Netflix production while the story is longer and detailed in the original it's waste.

I don't recommend this version

DON'T WASTE TIME IN TRASH

A cringe, trash, horrible adaptation of the Taiwanese masterpiece"Someday or one day".
The drama fails to be equal in the OST, charm, strength, intensity, acting and cinematography of the original masterpiece. The actors lack chemistry and are unable of getting into the character, the two protagonists in particular, where the change in character is almost not noticeable. FL is a psychopath, both adult and girl. Bad choices for the OSTs that are not strong enough to leave some impression , excessively modern
The bond between the three protagonists is non-existent, both shallow and lacking depth, with actors without charm. The flow of the story is totally altered, focusing on the love story rather than on intrigue and mystery, altering the balance of the original story. Balance that is missing until the end.
We can say it's not actor's fault, but they were a mismatch, and they were totally unable to feel the complexity of their characters.
And someone should explain to me, why the pro lgbt message from the original one, becomes a lovey dovey BL fairytale...
Don't waste time and watch the original.

A Time Called You Review - ZyKuu

"Will you travel across time for your soulmate" - This story is very complex and requires the viewer to pay close attention. The plot was very thought provoking because as the story developed with each episode, I was wondering and hypothesising a bunch of theories on how this show can conclude which was enjoyable in hindsight. The cast was spectacular with the main lead Han Jun-hee / Kwon Min-ju perfecting her role. Her ability to display two different characters and possess two different personas within the same timeline was a spectacle to watch. The two main male leads being Koo Yeon-jun / Nam Si-heon and Jung In-gyu were also tremendous in their own regard.
The support cast was very consistent throughout the whole series, and since individually they did not have as much screen time, they were great complimentary pieces in each episode that they did appear in. My personal favourites from the support cast were Oh Chan-hui / Oh Chan-yeong and Kwon Do-hun. The OST was great throughout the entire series, they introduced an old classical to our time and managed to compose other songs that fit the theme of the drama. This drama was mostly a mystery drama that was very engaging with a hint of romance, and I am for certain that this will be recognized as a classic time-travel drama.

The good part is only the finale

Unable to move on from her boyfriend's sudden death, a young girl is transported back in time to meet her lover once again. But what if the man she met is not the boyfriend she knows?

I was intrigued from the interesting trailer as it shows such sweet scenes but somewhat a creepy secret, but the actual drama itself is a bit lackluster. The first six episodes is a cozy feel good youth story with your typical rom-com vibes. The story feel so flat that I didn't feel any conflict until episode 7. In my opinion this would be much better if made into a movie.

The actors did okay but I was never invested in any of the character's journey or interplay so that's my problem to make me care because at no point did i ever end up to caring about anyone.

Rather than the cinematography, I'm just simply not impressed. I ended up binging it because it's quite short. So feel free to just watch it if you want an easy-to-watch youth drama with some spice thrown in in the finale.

a compelling story, exceptional acting, and an emotional journey

"A Time Called You" is a 12-episode K-drama that left a lasting impression on me, primarily thanks to the brilliant performances of its lead actors, Ahn Hyo Seop and Jeon Yeo Been. However, it was Jeon Yeo Been who truly stole the show with her outstanding portrayal of her character. Her talent shone brightly, making her character captivating and memorable.

The storyline of "A Time Called You" is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming. The concept of time travel is explored in a unique and refreshing way, which adds depth and intrigue to the plot. Throughout the series, I found myself shedding tears of both sadness and joy. The emotional rollercoaster kept me thoroughly engaged from start to finish.

What impressed me the most was the well-crafted ending. It tied up loose ends and left me feeling satisfied and content. I wholeheartedly rooted for this series and will cherish it as one of my favorites.

I Can't Get Past How Idiotic the Time Travel Was

**This is just my opinion. I truly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that went into the making of this drama. Thank you.**

It's very difficult to write this without any spoilers but I'm going to try my best.

I was drawn to this drama because of the cast, namely Ahn Hyo Seop and Kang Hoon. They and the other actors did a very good job. Unfortunately this drama has one of, if not the, worst time travel devices I've ever seen or read about in a book. There was never any explanations given. We were just supposed to "turn our minds off at the door" so to speak. I tried. I really, really tried, but seriously. It's really asking too much. At least set some consistent rules for yourself if you're going to go this route and make it make sense.

The male lead characters, Koo Yeon Jun/Nam Si Heon played by Ahn Hyo Seop and Jung In Kyu played by Kang Hoon, were wonderful. Both of them were sweet, very intelligent, kind, self sacrificing and tragic. They were what kept me watching. Jeon Yeo Been did a good job playing the dual roles of Kwon Min Ju and Han Jun Hee. I just didn't like the characters. As Min Ju she was dour, not very bright, angry, resentful, bitter and walked like she was an extra for The Walking Dead. As Jun Hee she was intelligent, outgoing, aggressive at times yet kinder than Min Ju.

Despite the issues that I had with the time traveling and how various aspects of it didn't make any sense to me, I thought that the story itself had some very touching moments. I was moved by the friendship betweean Si Heon and In Kyu and the love between Yeon Jun/Si Heon and Jun Hee. It was worth watching just to see them.

confusing watch but makes sense in the end.

such a beautiful show, I loved it! insane details not all viewers notice. I would probably not recommend this show if you are on the younger side as it might be a bit more difficult for you to understand. the music was phenomenal and had such meaning in the show. the show has quite a small fandom which saddens me as it is amazing. my favourite character is jun hee of course
if you liked this drama I would recommend, twenty five twenty one and 20th century girl as they are set in a similar time.

Not the best time travel romance drama, but enjoyable

This drama was going so well throughout. But time travel dramas either have a really good ending (rarely) or they f**k up the ending by essentially erasing the whole story. This drama falls into the second category despite the fact that up until episode 9 I didn't think it needed to have this type of ending.

The plot of this drama was really good, I loved the ML, SML and FL. Despite the love triangle, it wasn't really a love triangle. Min Ju will probably be considered the SFL, she was okay, I just hated what she made In Gyu go through, the guilt he must have felt to take the blame for her death despite having nothing to do with it. She treated him like shit until the FL saved her and then erased herself from the past. I wish we got to see more of In Gyu and Min Ju together, especially in the future. I assume they are still together because when Si Heon runs into Jun Hee in the future (2011, so 13 years later), he mistakes her for Min Ju. I wish we got to see all 4 of them together and I wish the main leads somehow remembered the past.

This is entirely drama was essentially a time loop, up until about the last 20 min of the last episode where somehow it was changed. I just hate it when time travel dramas rush the ending. I feel like the last half an hour of this drama should have head it's own episode, if not 2 episodes. Going from 1998 (where it started) to 2011 (where it ended) and then skipping to 2023 just to show how the timeline has changed. I love that the main leads met in 2011 instead of 2023.

Shouldn't skip the scenes

if you're watching this before watching Taiwanese version then you shouldn't skip any scenes.
i gave rating for acting 6 because GOD ! i loved everyone's acting except the female lead . I mean she showed the emotional scenes soo great but during cute and romantic scenes her acting is soo awkward especially in 1,2 episodes thinking of yeonjun.

This drama overall is soo good the plot and story line are perfect and I'm happy that they gave happy ending in korea version.

But if you already watched the Taiwanese version then I recommend you not to try this one . Even the ost and cast are better than Taiwanese version still we won't love this version as much as someday or oneday.

The most important character here is minju. Yes I know everyone felt bad for her for her character. About the decisions she made but don't you think she should the real emotions of a average teenager.( Lol but still I wanna slap her 🤣)

I guess For the final part the couple we got are
1)si heon and jun hee( it's a wired age gap though , but still we all want this)
2)in kyu and min ju
3)yeonjun and tae ha
