Everything and more

This drama right here is a masterpiece. It’s one of those very good dramas that come once in 6-7 years . It may sound like I’m exaggerating but honestly I felt a lot of emotions while watching this .

It wasn’t perfect though as there were some loopholes here and there but not enough to deny or distract us from how much of a good drama it is .

I’ll totally recommend this drama to anyone and I’ll add it to my 2016 list of best dramas released . All the actors did a great job .

It’s a solid 9/10 for me .
For the best watching experience I’ll suggest you watch it on 1.5x speed but watch it on normal speed when the main leads hyo seop and yeo been are together in a scene ❤️
Their chemistry is everything and more ❤️

Butterfly effect

This show gives a warning about suicide at the beginning but it happens in ep 11, and ep 12 is about what happened if Min-ju never committed suicide.
The difference between sad and happy ending is shown to make us all think about how we treat people in our lives.
One person's act affected so many lives around her, and yet she though of herself to be so insignificant ....
She wasn't a bad person without any hope for redemption. No. She was just an emotional teenager that nobody understood and cared about.
The time travel, the search for the love lost in time ....all of that wouldn't have happened if someone was there for Kwon Min-ju to help her overcome a difficult time in her life...
This story is teaching us that every single life and person is precious, no matter how strange that person seems. We should care about the weak and shy and withdrawn persons not because we pity on them, but because they are human, just like us and try to accept, understand and include them.
Also, it is teaching persons who are like that to not overthink, not to try too hard to be accepted and to seek for help and support in people around them. Min-ju just couldn't see that people like that are already around her.
The story is showing us that Si-heon became a friend of In-gyu. Without that friendship he would have probably become to be the same as Min-ju.
Anyway...this drama is great and I hope it leaves everyone thinking about persons they meet in their lifetime as well as themselves.

Bad acting and a horrible setting

This Korean remake falls short of capturing the essence of the original Taiwanese series. The leads have zero chemistry, and their acting feels super forced. It's like they're just going through the motions- it was so slow and boring. The OSTs are not memorable. They do not add anything to the drama and are quickly forgotten.

Even with utmost generosity, I can't rate this remake higher than a 4. The filming location fails to evoke the sentiments of longing and loss that permeate the series. The attempt to modernize the setting detracts from the story's intended atmosphere.

Overall, this remake is just a massive disappointment. It doesn't capture the magic of the original drama, and it's just a waste of time. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this drama to anyone. If you're looking for something good, just stick with the original.

İzlemeyen İzlesin (Those Who Haven't Watched Should Watch It)

.......................................................................................

Bir dizi daha bitti :(

The fact that A TIME CALLED YOU is a remake doesn't bother me...

JUST MY OPINION
I heard that this was a remake... But I don't mind, because they carried it out entirely like it was an original one! I did not know until I read the reviews, that it was a remake. Their chemistry, was amazing. I am sharing my truthful opinion right now. Although it was really confusing in between, I loved it!!

It was a happy ending(?) Although I wish it was a happier one! Moreover, I felt really happy while watching this show. Definitely, the best time travel drama I've ever watched. It left me confused, hoping for a season 2, even 3! Which will not happen ig... The thing I love THE MOST was the acting. Confusing, Romance, Friendship, Time-travel, Emotion, these were the words I would use to describe this amazing show.

From someone who has not watched the OG (excuse me this is my first review!):

I found this drama to be quite enjoyable. It is definitely not perfect, but still fantastic watch.
-Story
I personally have a fascination with dramas that explore time travel, so it was interesting to me right off the bat. Some people seem to find multiple and interconnecting timelines/characters confusing, I usually do not though so I was able to follow along well. There were one or two moments that through me off, but I was able figure it out pretty quickly. If you do struggle with keeping track of things though then you will find the drama confusing, luckily if you read in the comments there are some nice people who have outlined the timelines for you! I do think that everything made sense though (for the most part) and they were able to tie things up pretty nicely, unlike many other dramas out there. The first few eps were definitely the best, but the rest of the drama still held my interest. The mystery portion was done relatively well all though not as exciting as it could have been.

-Cast, chemistry, and romance
Some people in the comments and reviews seem to be questioning these to a great extent, but I disagree. I think the cast did a wonderful job and I was definitely able to feel that the fl was playing two different people. Her acting is a little off in moments but overall she still was successful in her portrayals. I also disagree that there wasn't chemistry between the leads or that the romance fell flat, I did not feel that at all. The building of the romance was pretty well done especially the portion when they were in college.

-Other
The cinematography was very picturesque, and the setting/sets were also well done, this drama is definitely very visually appealing. I personally liked the songs and OST and did not find fault in it, if you did not see the OG drama this will not bother you like it does some in the comments. Overall, I think you will enjoy this drama if you are able to keep up with everything and try to think from the characters POV in regard to their actions and motivations.

One also needs to understand that many here in the comments and reviews are not objective since they have seen the OG which they have a developed a strong attachment too so it is natural that they will be overly critical of the remake - which is of course going to differ from the OG. These people are looking to find fault with the remake from the get-go, so they are not going to look at this work with fresh and open eyes. Those who watched the OG are also not going to be as impacted by the revelations and plot developments since they already know what is to happen. If you are going into it without the OG as a refence you will most likely enjoy it as I have.

Parallel Realities: A Roller Coaster Ride of confusion and intrigue in K-Drama Land

As a devoted fan of both K-Dramas and C-Dramas, I couldn't be happier that Netflix released all the episodes at once. The idea of enduring suspense, cliffhangers, and plot twists on a weekly basis? No, thank you!

Watching this drama evoked memories of my four years in undergrad, studying Electronics & Communication engineering. Despite the intense coursework, I found myself in the same boat—struggling to differentiate between a diode and a transistor. Similarly, with this show, I couldn't resist watching, thoroughly enjoyed it, and can see myself revisiting it. However, did I entirely grasp every nuance? Maybe not...

Having not seen the original Taiwanese version, I embarked on this journey with fresh eyes. The narrative and pacing gripped me, though I must admit, I felt a bit like a lost puppy during those time jumps. I greatly appreciated the inclusion of the year, though it did get a tad convoluted at times.

The actors and their performances were a true highlight. Many a time, I found myself doing a double take, questioning if it was indeed the same actor playing the various roles. I even had to consult the cast list for confirmation. The character development was a joy to witness, and some of the portrayals were deliciously diabolic.

Impatience got the best of me, prompting a leap from Episode 7 to Episodes 11-12. I simply had to know if it culminated in a happy ending, so watching the show is the only way to find out. I did eventually come back and watch Ep8-12...

For me, this mirrors the experience of watching the film "Inception." It didn't fully click on the first or second viewing, requiring multiple watches to grasp the intricacies. It's earned a spot on my permanent watch list.

Lastly, this drama is akin to a mind-bending roller coaster ride. I can't determine if it's due to my non-native Korean proficiency or if the plot is genuinely a labyrinth for my humble brain to navigate.

Brilliantly written

Not knowing any of the stars in this at the time I watched it, I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of acting or even the story. I'm so glad I gave it a chance. This was such an outstanding series, brilliantly written with a fantastic cast of characters.
This, over any other series I've seen, definitely needs to be watched twice. The story is so intertwined from past, present to future ... 2023 back to 1998 ... to 2003 ... to 2007 ...back to 1998 ... to 2011. At times it does get quite confusing trying to keep track of everything happening, but if you rewatch a few scenes, or even an entire episode, everything eventually makes sense.
The writing is flawless, not missing anything, answering every question you come up with throughout the twelve episodes. And there are a lot of questions that need to be explained by episode twelve. Somehow everything gets resolved, maybe not the way you hoped for, but all the pieces do get put together to complete the puzzle.
The main trio of Hyo Seop, Yeo Been & Kang Hoon blend together so well. You never doubt for a minute that everything will work out fine, in whatever year they end up!!
It's not just a story of fate & love, but the story of the bond of strong friendship as well.
Once episode 7 plays out, and then truly the bizarre beginning of episode 8 happens, the drama goes into full gear, taking you to an even higher level of excellence. You really try to figure out what's going to happen next, but every time you do, it goes in a completely different direction.
It shows how difficult it can be to change one's destiny .... but they sure made it entertaining trying to do just that.
Two thumbs up for this great series!!

This drama was really a heartfelt and nostalgic. How it starts with a girl trying to save her fiance, it's like I'm trying to save what's between us. It's the kind of drama that will really stab you directly on the heart. It's really a good drama, the actors also did really really well, how they acted all their parts, I can't stop crying every time there are cry scenes. Though it is an adaptation, this is the first time I'm watching an adaptation that really hit my heart a lot. I really really like it. The songs are also so good that I coudn't stop listening to it.

i didn’t like the way they portrayed TIME TRAVEL

My main issue with this drama wasn’t how confusing it was. it was the TIME travel, because what do you mean Jun-Hui went into the body of Min-Ju? That’s not how time travelling works and sure it’s such a small issue but it really bothered me, but besides from that I didn’t have an issue with this drama. The ending was so-so, but i did like Jeong Yeo-Been’s acting in this. the way she portrayed two characters and actually made them DIFFERENT was crazy acting. plus it’s a very visually aesthetic drama too.

my heart BURNS.

i find a drama with palpable chemistry between leads every three decades & now that i did it?? it was so painful?? i'm never going to write a review for this & i'll also need like five business days to recover from what i just watched. jesus. but no, seriously? that unnecessary twist at the end...send the floods. i don't even care that i sound stupid right now. worst yet best thing i've seen in a while.

AND THAT SONG. never play it in my presence ever. i can't do it.

predictable and confusing but entertaining

there are definitely parts of this series where it makes no fuckin sense lmaoo but i wanted to add first and foremost: i can’t believe that the gay man died to house a hetero in his body and live his hetero romance im sickkkkkk😭😭😭

the 5 minutes of gay representation eliminated by what happens next and i absolutely don’t think it’s okay 😀 they could’ve made him a straight man why did they erase his identity AND kill his partner 😭

ANYWAY. other than that i predicted pretty much the flow of the story but there were some twists/turns about it. there are some times where it’s not believable bc how the characters act are so out of whack to reality but we have to suspend some belief in order to enjoy our time-traveling shows lol.

i’m sure there were some loopholes but i don’t remember them much now—should’ve wrote them down on the spot.

but i did enjoy this, though not as much as i wanted to. i didn’t really like the turn of events where the girl returns to her own body and completely ignores the fact that she’s a murder target and someone in her school legit got brutally murdered as well—all bc her crush is finally paying attention to her. and i also didn’t like the fact that the male lead turns his back on the girl once he finds out that she’s back to her normal self. they were friends before all this body swapping happened so it’s sad to believe that he would not care about her after the person he had a crush on left her body (sorry i forgot their names already; i’m reviewing a couple weeks after i finished).

i also don’t understand why the brothers would have swapped ?? what is going on with that town!!!! lmfao

overall enjoyable if you don’t mind being confused and annoyed lol
