Acting Master Class
Masterful Acting from every actor involved Awesome to see Gong Yoo back on the big screen He emotes better than actor All the actors were amazing in this series Unfortunately the story line, pacing & overall enjoyment lost it's luster with the messy plot. There were just too many anti-climax's The one year marriage contract that apparently only the wife got to enjoy , while the husband grieved the loss of his marriage and as the story evolves their unborn child There was no redemption for the wife character at all , she was portrayed as selfish calculating vindictive, the husband was a rather pathetic character from start to finish really. The 2nd contract wives story line, her marriage to a bisexual which apparently was the worst thing ever. The murderer who was murdered just so much going on way too much Of course the nude sex scenes which just stimulated but done nothing for the movement of the story All in all if the acting wasn't top notch it would have been a definite passWas this review helpful to you?

Great Idea Poor Execution
This series had promise --A great Love Triagle Or Square whatever way you want to see it -- Started out loving one tall lanky guy - had a toxic relationship with another tall lanky guy Both of which looked very similar to each other Both had the look of way too much work done but who knows could be wrong about that The main Kim Jun Seo was the reason I continued to watch this series He played the played victim well & he is exceptionally good looking Just what you would expect coming from having an Idol background But there was no saving this series too convoluted mixed with abuse mixed with an unhinged friend then you got the CEO so there is work place abuse The work place no red flag Cha Sun Hyung who drops in and out with good intentions All in all it is one chaotic mess of a series & too bad because the actors tried their best but the story line just had way too much with no real established plot lineWas this review helpful to you?

Loved this series , the actors , the pacing, the amount of episodes which I never love & the story line although not new was done in such a refreshing way. It was so nice to see how the characters story developed & they incorporated other stories and it just made it all the better A must watch Never mind how many episodes there are -- it flies by with the great acitng and story lineWas this review helpful to you?

Age Gap Fantastic For once
I haven't seen an age gap film from any place done any better than Dating in the Kitchen. It was complete perfection. I think it is up there with Pretty Woman Julia Roberts / Richard Gere & Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn/ Humphrey Bogart or later with Julia Ormond/Harrison Ford. The actor Lin Yu Shen well, he was perfection as the older man. Especially his reaction to being called Senior or Fuzzy Lu, he was just so good at controlled outrage. The beginning scene with him and Zhao Lu Si where she has messed with his car is just wonderful. She stands on tip toe for him to write his # on her forehead is just so captivating. His reaction to that well, you think he is a goner from the start. The supporting cast are all great, they back up the film wonderfully. I have re-watched this over and over. I will never get tired of it.Was this review helpful to you?

My 1st Life rewatch 2nd 3rd great
I have watched this drama many times & I will watch it many more. The story to me never gets old. The cast & acting was top grade. I grew to love the main leads Lee Min Kii & Jung So Min . The supporting cast were all top grade actors & the series got their monies worth. The story line was direct & it stayed that way through out the drama. I appreciate that. Often times more isn't better. Even the yelling which can get really annoying in Kdrama's was great. It carried a familiar theme guy lead being the upper & the female lead being lower, but anywhere it is rarely any different. I guess stick with what works. Grew to love the male lead in this series. Jung So Min I have never seen her do anything wrong when acting. She is lovable beautiful & always believable. Was this review helpful to you?

A Must Watch BL
I have just finished this BL for the 2nd time & it was worth revisiting. Second time around I really appreciated how both male leads were able to emote so perfectly. It seemed like the whole series came at the perfect moment, perfect cast, perfect story & director knew what was up. It displayed so well how young adults react to situations, I hope some young person sees this & it helps them. I love the way the couple's romance grew slowly & realistically overtime. I also give props to the story writer & developer because they kept it real. Not all persons are accepting and it is not very true to depict life any other way. What I despise about BL's in general - they ship the actors as couples in real life WHY they are actors it is acting. That maybe a reason why these good actors have issues with one another after the success of their series. When your job is done go home to your RL instead of making them pretend fiction is RL. just to please some disillusioned fan & to drain every dime you can from the fans through lying. I feel this series will stand the test of time & I think that Ohm & Nanon did some of the best acting I have seen in a BL. Loved it

Building's did collapse
I found the premise of this movie very interesting, but because I knew it would be an emotional rollercoaster I put off watching it. It was a rollercoaster emotionally, but I found Lee Jun-ho carried this film. The romantic scenes with Won Jin-ah were forced at best. Won Jin-ah looked like she was a wooden statue & Lee Jun-ho was doing his normal kissy self. Now I know he excels in this area but his romantic partner made it painful to watch. I find it silly that they portray adults as virgins, it just doesn't fit. I am not all about romantic scenes I could take them or leave them but if they take them make them believable. Lee Ki-Woo brought nothing to this film except a wonderful walk. The part could have been played by anyone. On the other hand all the older actors in this film were fantastic & since that was a central part of the film, it really made it what it was again an emotional rollercoaster. Was this review helpful to you?

Bon Appetit non!!!
This was a cliche Korean bl, down to the hard lipped kisses. It was unimaged, the plot was sketchy at best. When a shower scene is thrown in , it doesn't move the plot forward in any way & the lack luster kiss scene that ensured was just a big WHY, if your gonna put in a shower scene in any show at least make it awesome. As a watcher, your left wondering why???? It is unfortunate because I enjoyed both of the main actors. I liked the whole fireside episode & you did get a lesson in korean food . To be fair I thought it could have just easily been a series on food & the bl was just tossed in for good measure. Since the real main character was the cooking of food. On the upside the actors were as good as the script allowed them to be, except for the juvenile kissing scenes. Yoon Seo Bin in the series with no real part, seemed a little desperate . Too bad but all series can't be great. Was this review helpful to you?

Color me Pink I'm Blushing
Couldn't review this series without starting at the ability the two main actors have at making a kissing scene a lesson in how to do it to make the audiences toes curl By far the most believable kiss scenes just enough and not vulgar I thought that given the premise of the show that for sure it would loose the plot at some point But I am happy to say they kept you guessing intrigued & waiting for the next episode with anticipation Again with the despicable parenting Wow talk about toxic Making your daughter play mute for most of her life & the grandfather killing his own grandson just awful but makes for a killer series Going to miss it!! One critique the mother at the end crying about her son's death is just not pleasant She is not a believable cryer and yelling your cry doesn't make it more emotional just annoyingWas this review helpful to you?

Disappointing
I find too often they use celebrity's with known names rather than trained actors with talent. This series falls prey to no story or substance just a known actor who has only made one film with merit. Please do not cast a show around the celebrity status Mew is a great model maybe even a good commentator as far as I can tell he is not an actor that can carry a series In the last big project with Mew, everyone loved Gulf he was endearing & his chemistry with Mew was on point. Also kissing in a BL is not required especially dead fish kisses If the acting is good enough and it usually is in Korean & Japanese BL's (especially Japanese) you do not need to try physical tactics to engage your audienceWas this review helpful to you?

Life isn't Fine it's Stormy & Messy
This series is a perfect example of having multiple diverging storylines & doing them well. Wrapping up each one with a conclusion that the viewer can empathize with & appreciate at the same time. I developed my love for the Actor Seo Kang Joon in this series. He has the most expressive face & his eyes tell all. I re-watched & enjoyed it the 2nd time more than the 1st. Park Min Young played such a beautiful character, she depicted how devastating it is for a friend to betray you especially in school. The story really shows how emotional devastation effects each character. The actors Moon Jung Hee & Kim Bo Young are significant in the movement of the story Fantastic series a must watch But do not expect a fast pace it is a slow pace like the country side it is depictingWas this review helpful to you?

Finally a Korean Adult BL
Wow, Korea has stepped up the game. Although it starts in high school it quickly becomes an adult BL. I love that it doesn't shy away from skinship, whether it be kissing , or just an open knowledge that these characters are having sex. It is real Finally, it showcases the complexity of not only being gay but how to navigate life with dealing with pretty much abuse from all angles. Not only does it show how different each character deals with abuse, it also shows how you can adjust and overcome just about anything. Lee Soon s character upbeat, fun but emotionally available & willing to accept people for who they are no matter the circumstances. Jang Yeon Woo beautiful to look at but played such a flawed character. Kim Nu Rim the centre figure of the drama , was just beautifully played in every aspect. It really showed how a child is affected by continued abuse . He was such closed off character. This will not be a forgotten Drama. Beautiful written directed with the correct actors able to convey the amazing range of emotion in the drama A must see for sureWas this review helpful to you?

Doona What!!
First you can never hang the whole drama on the fact that you have an Idol. Bae Suzy acting did nothing to enhance the drama . Doona character smoked cigarettes well, did sexy well, had zero chemistry with the lead & displayed the angst of stardom. Other than that unless you are a Bae Suzy fan could have left it. I watched because of the way Vang Se Jong performed in the series. He was awesome & the supporting cast did a great job as well. The ending was anti climatic but I found that the most believable part of the series. It did show well the angst between Doona & Lee Won Joon mostly because of Vang Se Jong's acting ability. Bae Suzy was very pretty & extremely sexy & that to me is where her character began & endedWas this review helpful to you?

Not Your Average BL
Intro to this movie is a car driven by a man following another Attractive man -- the music which is a important passanger to this movie conveys the mood throughout -- the story arch is perfectly timed & the development carrys the viewer to it's emotional climax -- an ending giving hope that True Love exists but it exists in its ruthless selfish then beautiful passionate & undeniable way Back to climax there are alot of them in this film -- but not gratuitous -- without them an audience couldn't understand the emotional development and final exceptance of the main character Otamo nor would you understand the depth of Imagase's love for Otamo. Otamo is a married man that cannot be faithful to his wife & Imagase's the detective the wife has hired to reveal Otamo's infidelities -- of which it turns out are many In the meeting of the two men their roles are revealed and then the push and pull begins -- It feels like Imagase is aware on some level that Otamo's discontentment sexually is attributed to his denial of his true idenity -- Otamo is unable to make concrete decisions hence the title The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese -- won't go into anymore to do so would rob the joy of watching this movie uncorruptedWas this review helpful to you?

Soccer or no Soccer that is the question
I'm getting the feeling that Korean BL is attempting to replicate Thai BL's Please do not do that Don't promote the series based on an the mains having a real life relationship As a fan I just want to see them act most of us don't need to be titillated with nonsense The story had so much promise, the actors once again did their best Except for some of the forced kissing scenes and the multitude of story lines Why why less is always more when it comes too a series Who doesn't love alpha males falling in love Great got most of us there but then it down graded into Park Jong Hun playing a loved besotted idiot and Ko Deok Won being the aggresive but not really love interest The idea of them both being fans of each other was a hook that kept me interested but it didn't really play out wellWas this review helpful to you?
