Good Enough

Korean Drama 'Weak Hero Class 2' is the second season of the school drama, and this time, the main character moves to a new school, but his demons are still there to haunt him.

The drama is as good as the first season, intense, deep, with loads of action, and great performances. The characters were interesting as well and supported the story well. The main character's arc was also strong, with a smooth character development. The fighting scenes were, in addition, well-choreographed and executed. The ending was sweet as well, but a bit rushed.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

Every Action Has an Equal and Opposite Reaction.

This is the drama that made me realise that I prefer the Thriller genre.
Weak Hero 1 had much more emotional entanglements between the characters, particularly Si Eun, who was learning to thaw and accept friendships as a good influence; but also had to learn about the bitter truth about it.
In Class 2, he attemps to revert back to his original aloof self, having inadvertently made a name of himself as the lunatic transfer kid. But, when Jun Tae, a bullied classmate crosses paths with him, he realises that he can no longer return back to who he was and what his previous experiences had taught him.

I can see why this one might not seem disappointing, but for Si Eun, it is one step forward. Establishing his past self and traumas was the purpose of Class 1. In Class 2, he has to face the fact that he can no longer be a by stander and is forced to come to terms with his guilt, the traumas and changes he had gone through.

The High Lights?

☆ Cast: The entire cast did an absolutely fantastic job, delivering tasking emotional as well heart pounding action scenes. As usual Si Eun stands out due to his character, but his friends, particularly, Baku and Jun Tak shone as brightly as he did.
As for Baek Jin. He was a very interesting character -- I can guess some of his story, but his past remained shrouded. Maybe Baku would one day, tell the truth. (The first thing I did when certain charactets appeared on screen was check their ages was cause there was no way Baek Jin was close to 17.)

On the good side, I'm glad that this season had a lot of decent fighters who knew when to run and had friends for backup.

☆ Story: I think the sky high ratings of this series is solely based on the emotional aspect since it easily captures your heart and makes you root for leads as well punch the villains through the screen.

(I never wrote a review for Class 1 as I felt that some dramas just have to watched to understand them.)

As it is based on a Webtoon, I'll forgive them for not going too deep into the backstory of certain characters such as Baek Jin.

I highly doubt that an organisation equivalent to a student mafia exists, but hey, I come from a college where there is literal Drug Ring, so I'm not sure of I'm supposed to doubt them.
All in all, it an extremely thrilling ride that lives upto Class 1.

The second season was fantastic as well. I enjoyed Si-eun's journey past the first season but it was destined to fall short of the 10/10 first season. This season takes place in an entirely different school, which allows the story to focus on the important parts of the fallout from S1 but removes a lot of the possible context/continuity that could have been built up if he remained at the same school. This season was much more action-oriented and sometimes felt like fights were forced simply to include more action rather than to move the plot forward, and Si-eun's fighting style, while originally designed around his desperation and his intellect, seemed to be switched out for an unrealistic amount of stamina. While I believe it's still worth watching, I believe this story is optional-- season one was the complete story in my mind.

No copy paste, but also no Season 1

The story is not exactly the same, though there are some similarities. Because of the high school setting, it feels familiar. But they did a good job in writing a slyghtly different story. Sadly, it´s not as entertaining, as Season 1. Season 1 felt new and fresh. It´s always difficult to deliver a 2nd Season, as good as the first one.
Also the actors weren´t as good as in the first season. More actors also doesn´t make better scenes!
If there is a 3rd Season. I will watch it all over again, because I´m a fan! Overall the 2nd Season was not bad, only a little less entertaining than the first one. I liked it!

A promising sequel turned into a plot race

Clarification: I did not read the webtoon. I saw snippets from it, but not too much to be an expert. Still, i would compare it to the show nevertheless.

Let's start from the positives.
- In the short span of 8 episodes, they managed to make almost every new appearing character interesting, or at least not boring. I would say that for the most part, it's thanks to their actors, but i would expand on it more in the negatives part.
- Scenery, color grading, you get it, the visuals. It's not as breathtaking just as first season was, but still beautiful in it's own way, portraying Sieun's melancholy with blue hues and warm tones when he's happier.
- The plot is complete. It really is. Everything they could've done, they did. You can tell that it's a finished story, without loose ends. However, only regarding major parts. In minors, well.....
- Acting. Not only Park Jihoon delivered amazing performance as always, but everyone else, too. Especially antagonists.
- Music. Primary did an excellent job, but for me, there were never any doubt about the music part. Energetic and catchy when it needs to be, melancholic, hopeful, you get it.

Negatives. Well, buckle up.
- As much as they tried to expand as much on each charater as they could, it still feels too little. I came to watch already knowing who everyone else is, but what about drama only watchers? They tried to make new relationships seem as meaningful as possible, but it still progressed too fast with minimal amount of scenes that's needed to say yeah, i guess they're friends.
- Which leads to my next point. Pacing. It feels as rushed as it could be. As everyone already said thousands of times, it's action packed. Not plot packed. It felt like race to an unknown destination. A destination wich at first seemed promising, but turned out to be disappointing.
- Hinting that Seongje is a main antagonist in possible season three. First of all, you put actual ending of a webtoon in the second season, and THEN you say wait, actually, i have more to say. Really?
- I really disliked how they tried to make the whole season about Humin and Baekjin, and then expanded on their relationship as little as possible. You just know that SOMETHING happened. What, exactly? Nevermind, decide for yourself! Not that it matters now.
- Showing off Seongje a whole lot in the promoting material just for him to disappear halfway. Nice move.

Overall, I can't say that it's bad, exactly. But who's this made for? Not for Webtoon fans, that's for sure. For them, this is a complete disappointment. Drama only fans? It's rushed and confusing. It's more of an action tale about...people, friendship? It doesn't portray societal problems as well as first season did. It's entertaining, don't get me wrong. But it falls short in front of both the webtoon and the first season. You cannot try to fit loads of chapters into eight episodes 40 mins each, and expect to come out successful. Should you watch it? If you are interested in Sieun's story, sure. But for every other character it feels too lacking.

A Raw, Powerful Sequel That Pushes the Story Even Further

I came into Weak Hero Class 2 with sky-high expectations after the masterpiece that was Season 1 , and honestly, it exceeded them. If Season 1 was about survival, Season 2 is about evolution: deeper, darker, and even more emotionally resonant.

On the surface, everything feels bigger ,the stakes, the fights, the emotional weight. Yeon Si-eun’s journey into a brutal new school environment felt immediate and gripping from the first episode. Watching the bonds between Si-eun, Hu-min, Hyun-tak, and Jun-tae develop was absolutely one of the show’s highlights for me. Their messy, cautious brotherhood , built through bruised knuckles and shared scars , felt so authentic and human. It’s that emotional undercurrent that gives the action its true weight.

What Weak Hero Class 2 manages to do brilliantly is preserve the soul of the first season while raising everything a notch. The fights are still brutal and beautifully choreographed. Far from losing its emotional edge, I found that Season 2 amplified it mixing the pain, rage, and vulnerability of its characters into something unforgettable.

Season 2 doesn’t just rely on spectacle; it uses it to tell a story. Every blow, every fight, every betrayal feels like a natural extension of the characters’ emotional states. It's stylish, yes ,but also gutting when it needs to be. Some moments had me holding my breath, not because of the choreography, but because of the emotional stakes hanging behind every move.

If I had to find a flaw, maybe some transitions could have been a little smoother, but honestly? It's a minor nitpick. For me, Weak Hero Class 2 remains one of the rawest, most powerful coming-of-age stories I've seen in a long time.

New Bonds and Past Connections

Waited so long for this and there was never a dull moment. But I can't say it was as good as season 1. Maybe because season 1 was so unique and fresh. The action sequences were literally worth rewatching. Season 2 was more brutal and I am surprised most of them did not end up with a concussion and brain damage. But the scenes did not stand out. The final episode was great though.

Season 1 was quite traumatic so I kept expecting something horrible to happen in season 2 as well. The anxiety I had watching this was greater. That could be why I couldn't enjoy it as much. I haven't read the original webtoon so I can't make comparisons with the source but I enjoyed the new bonds and stories of the characters. But somehow season 1 went deeper than just that. Especially with their bonds. Park Ji Hoon shines ever so bright and he makes you both love and feel for him. Ryeo Un was a great addition to the ensemble and fit right in.

The actors really did a wonderful job as did those playing the negative characters. Although a new character they've introduced seems a bit boring so I don't quite care for him if he'll be in the next season.

I'm not actually sure if they plan a third season for this but it would be good if they didn't wait as long to work on it. Season 1 has already set standards quite high. Season 2 couldn't match upto it though it comes close in being entertaining. And at least there was some outcome to Weak Hero Class 1.

NEWTOWN'S THIRD LAW :

Waited 3 years for this and binged it in less than a day. And One word - Loved it so s3 Please? 😂

Weak Hero Class 2 is pretty much a continuation of S1. a story SET IN SIEUN'S NEW SCHOOL WITH NEW FRIENDS AND NEW ENEMIES. EVERYTHING NEW. EMPHASIS ON THE NEW
So you don't pretty much go in expecting the whole atmosphere you got from s1 in here. And that's a mistake we all tend to make when we start this. And sure I made it too lol.

So this drama has a new feel which I find a bit different from s2. New but Not Bad at all. I went in, sadly with the whole mind of S1 here, but we gotta know That Sometimes you can't always recreate the PERFECTION of a dark horse drama ( like WEAK HERO 1) in a follow-up. For a drama like WEAK HERO 1 that no one expected to be a hit like it did, Making a S2 would come with so much pressure ( BECAUSE TRUST me there may not be a S2 if s1 was not as big as it was) But I'm GLAD they served a perfect DRAMA and STORY.

Like it's said "THE ACT OF TRANSLATION IS AN ACT OF BETRAYAL" we actually can't expect EVERYTHING IN THE WEBTOON to be follow-up exactly in it's drama. it's somewhat impossible because they're two different medias with different types of execution media. Just like All in a novel can't be done in a drama ( in terms of execution) So It's expected that changes would be made when TRANSLATING from a media to another to suit each Media standard - That's "that betrayal". But what matters is, Was the changes done nicely?

Even though I didn't read the WEBTOON, I See this as a well executed drama and that's all that matters really. For a first time eye on the work, it didn't feel messy or Bad. So that's good enough for a drama adaptation. Because sure, it could have been bad or WORSE lol. So thanks for a good follow-up

WEAK HERO 2 Has lots of positive sides to it. It was Gripping In terms of its fast-paced storyline which I appreciated. And It made it not feel boring ( trust me, even short drama Can be draggy) it was action packed, Fight scenes were WOW realistic to me sometimes that I closed my eyes most times in fear lol.

For a Short dramas, I'm Surprised this drama was able to perfectly convey The Characterizations of each character. We saw these characters and actually understood them for what they were drawn out to be. Their characters had dynamics and were immersive. And they were as immersive as the Plot itself.

The leads dynamic were fun to watch. Them becoming friends and their friendship was fun and always had me smiling. Especially with Sieun playing the Ice princess and Baku Disturbing the Ice Princess 😂 The hair brushing scene would always be iconic for meeee😂😭 Love their dynamic

The ACTING was It. it was JUST IT. I loved every bit of the acting that I can't even complain at all. I liked the way each actor delivered their roles.

This drama HONESTLY has no bad side from the point of view of one looking for a good drama and Not from ONE WHO READ THE WEBTOON OR CAME WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS FROM S1.For a drama, It's Great.

But I wished I could have seen MORE MORE depth. I understand it's 8 EPs, 40 min. So yeah that's short for what I crave for. So it's impressive they could fit a lot nicely into it. But yeah, I'm a fan of longer content that explores depth of all. Like deep deep dive into characters, plot line and all. So 8 ep was never enough for that, so yeah that's it. I understand.

All in all, This show was a great watch. enjoyed the 8 EPs and will certainly miss this character. So I have my prayer from today.
NETFLIX GIVE US A S3!! PLEASE I WOULDN'T MIND IT GETTING TO 5 SEASONS! I CAN WAIT!
I Wish we could get a s3 with Suho and Si Euns New Friends. Would be fun. So I'll be praying for that.

THE WEAK HERO IS BACK ?

finished 9.5/10 🌟
What a ride we had with Weak Hero Class 2.
I think it was one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
Honestly, I liked it more than I thought, and it met most of my expectations.
If I'm honest, I was afraid that Netflix would get their hands on the project... But they managed to maintain the story's core:

fighting, friendship, strategy, and drama

all with memorable characters 👏
I want to highlight two performances:

Ryeo, how Baku was 1000/1000, what an incredible character, I fell in love with him the first time I saw him 🤩

Another one who stood out for me was Lee Jun Young.
I don't understand why he doesn't get more recognition.
This man can act ANYTHING. 👏
I admire him so much. He truly deserves all the good things. 🫶
I don't give it a 10 because there were a couple of fights I saw on X2 that bored me a little, I admit, but the rest was great.

I love you whc 🫂💓

You want some of this?

4 minute read

The ‘Weak Hero Class’ Korean Drama series is popular amongst the youths of the IPad Gamer Generation (Generation Alpha 2013-Present) , Zoomers (Generation Z 1997-2012), and The Millennials (Generation Y 1981-1996). These are the frontline generations who faced bullying in school, as a way of life (About 14% of students consider suicide, because of Bullying in School). Generation Y (1981-1996) was one of the earlier generations to be bullied under public notoriety and thus saw much legislation introduced, aimed at stopping bullying in schools. However, bullying persisted even up to 2019 when bullying in schools saw a noted increase. Nonetheless, since then bullying in schools has been on the decline. Why this change?

To be noted, Weak Heroes are emerging as a sub population in the schools. Weak Heroes are those who were once the targets of bullies, being considered weak (simps). Now some are emerging as strong weak heroes (sigmas).

Terms of Endearment

Simp-Some one who is overly submissive, or desperate for interaction with the Sigma class.

Sigma—Strong Alpha males of the hierarchy class, often the bullies.

Beta males—A male who is perceived to be weak and unimpressive.

Now these Beta Males are emerging as the Silent Beta Males who are becoming the Weak Heroes. This is a rising phenomena of necessity, but it is working, as Weak Heroes are silently taking control away from bullies. Possibly as a result, bullying is on the decrease. Weak Heroes are not just a sub-genre of Korean dramas. It is a message of reaction and taking control. That is what makes this sub-genre so popular with multi-generations.

Weak Hero Class 2 is the next in the series of Beta Males becoming the heroes and it has already scored big world wide in just 2 days after its release. How many different ways can you tell this story and keep it fresh? They have managed big-time to do so with Weak Heroes Class 2. The new characters are so profound. Returning is the original Weak Hero Yeon Si Eun / Gray Yeon (played by Park Ji Hoon). We find him as a transfer student to a “Last Chance” High School. He is coming in with much street cred, as students find out about his notorious past.

Yeon Si eun befriends a new simp named Seo Jun Tae / Eugene Gale (wonderfully played by Choi Min Yeong) who wants to fight back. Joining the posse are two more new characters, two basketball players with mean Martial Arts skills. They are the new school sigmas. Ko Hyeon Tak / Alex Go (wonderfully played by Lee Min Jae) is noted for his high kicking ability and 360 kick turns. He is subdued and unpolished. However, the shining star, the character most all will love is the loud, larger the life big personality, but skilled Martial Artists Park Hu Min / Ben Park (expertly played by Ryeo Un). One villain of the court is the strong arm and psychopath Geum Seong Je / Wolf Keum (convincingly played by Lee Jun Young). The second villain is a Study Genius with the highest IQ and best Martial Artistry Na Baek Jin / Donald Na (Played calculatingly by newcomer and K-pop Idol Bae Nara). He is just like Yeon Si eun, but on steroids. Na Baek Jin makes the best nemesis, confronting our anti-hero Yeon Si eun, beating him at his own game.

It is usual that the second installment is not as good as the first. I am shocked and surprised at how good this second installment is. The storyline is so tight and congruent with Weak Hero Class 1.

Weak Hero Class 2 is a drama about bullying. There are a lot of fight scenes with a lot of pummeling. There is cursing and smoking as part of the story mapping. This drama is not for everyone.

WEAK HERO CLASS 2 | A CAPTIVATING STORY

Watching Weak Hero Class 2’ was an incredible experience for me. From the very first episode, I was completely hooked — the tension, the emotions, and the way the story unfolded just pulled me right in. In my opinion it was kinda better than season one. I love season one a lot too, but I have a special attachment to 2nd season!

The new characters added so much to the story too. The fight scenes are amazing and I was kinda impressed to see them.

There’s so much heart behind every moment of this season. It’s not just about action it’s about friendship, pain, and the constant struggle to protect what matters. Weak Hero Class 2 reminded me why I fell in love with this story in the first place, and honestly, it left a mark on me that I won’t forget anytime soon!

It’s a must watch of course! Totally recommend it!

ENDING OF SEASON 2 DISCUSSION.
“SPOILER ALERT”

Well, the ending left me speechless! Of course there’ll be more and why?
1. Baek jin died , but why he died? Someone killed it? Well, they didn’t explain it. Or is he alive? And if was all planned? We need more.
2. Seong je will take Baek jin place so that’s why I think there’s another season because I was like: “What’s coming next? There’s definitely more”
