When Enough Is Enough
I'm not one to watch nor like the bullying/fighting genre, but damn!!!....Weak Hero Class just sucked me in. I saw advertisements for season 2, so I binged season 1. I had just finished watching the first season when the second started on Netflix. There are similarities, but they are not the same. This was nice as I do not like watching second anything and seeing a repeat of the first. The writer really made this as a continuation....a "what happens next" story. The ML, again, powerfully acted by Park Ji Hoon, is not only quiet and. stoic (as in the 1st), but he's also numb with a building undercurrent of anger, and overwhelmed with guilt. He is transferred to a new school, Eunjang, where he is precisely at for about 10 minutes when he again becomes the target of bullies. Beautifully acted. Understated, but powerful.
There is a gang of bullies, trying to get into the Union. The Union is another criminal organization led by a shadow crime boss who hides his organization behind gangs of school-age kids. The head high school gang member is trying to get his childhood best friend, Hu Min, to join the Union. Hu min is another character similar to Beom Seok in that he has an abusive, unsupportive father. However, unlike Beom Seok, Hu Min never turns against his friends. Si Eun, Hu Min, Jun Tae, and Hyeon Tak team up to rid their school of the bullies, help Hu Min fight against the pressures of joining the Union, and finally to stop the Union from existing. All of this plays out in highly choreographed fight scenes over and over again.
The ending is both happy, sad, and gives us a teaser of maybe another season. We get to see an awake but still recovering Su ho which is nice. However, there is a scene where Si Eun is unconscious dreaming that he is sitting in a boxing ring and Beom Seok is with him. So what did happen to Beom Seok? Did his father have him killed and we are seeing his spirit interacting with Si Eun? Or, is this just a teaser to seeing this character reappear in a future episode? Regardless, when Si Eun says he has to go, Beom Seok grabs his arm and cries. It is so sad. Even though Beom Seok's character in the first series was responsible for Su ho's coma, he is such a traumatized individual it is hard to hate him. Brilliantly played by Hong Kyung. We also see the death of Hu Min's childhood best friend, the leader of the Union gang. We also see the possibility of a new leader taking his place and with this the possibility of another season.
Yet another excellent story, powerful and emotional. The only thing I could criticize about this one is some of the students looked way to old to be in high school. But a superb addition to the Weak Hero Class franchise.

"For Every Good Action, A Good Reaction Follows"
Truth to be told, I've been ogling for 'Weak Hero Class 2' because of its spectacular predecessor aka season 1. Straight after completing 'High School Return of a Gangster', I immediately jump to this show with high expectations. Thank goodness, everything goes smoothly for me. Let's delve into the plotline now.The plot is centered around Yeon Si-eun's life as he transfers to a new school after a chaos ensued in his former school. For the sake of his promise to Ahn Su-ho, Si-eun doesn't want to get involved in fighting or brawls anymore. However, fate plays a cruel joke and he must face new threat in Eunjang High School as a syndicate dubbed 'Union' keeps targeting Eunjang's students. Alongside his newly-made friends - the timid and amicable Seo Jun-tae, the boisterous Park Hu-min, and his loyal sidekick Go Hyun-tak. Combining their wits and strength, they decide to end the fighting once and for all and bring the peace they yearn for.
What I can say about the plot is that it is the most gritty and well-written storyline I've ever come across. It truly lives up to the season 1's reputation. The characters also have emotional baggage of their own, which adds a layer of emotional depth on them. I can't help but love this show more and more, even binging it for 3 days in one go. I must be crazy already, aren't I?
Acting are superb as well. Each actor is shining in their respective role. Park Ji-hoon comes back to reprise his role as the dark Yeon Si-eun and this time he deals with darker circumstance, where the guilt and remorse consumes him. Another worthy MVP maybe Ryeoun - he captures the essence of Hu-min's character very well and explores a wide range of emotions in an excellent way, including how he confronts his former best friend Na Baek-jin. Other casts also give strong performance and kudos to all of them.
Overall, a must-watch masterpiece that you shouldn't miss. I also wish there would be 'Weak Hero Class 3' so that we can see Si-eun's final year looks like. Good luck and happy watching!!!

W.O.W
Where do I start? Weak Hero Class 2… probably the most anticipated drama of 2025. And I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint. I know whether you like this drama or hate it depends on personal taste but I’m just going to put out why I 🖤it. First things first, Weak hero is such a psychological drama. From the character development to the movement of the plot, everything is so gripping. Secondly, you can really empathise with the characters and feel bad for them. They feel real and have depth( not 2D characters who are perfect). Their defects and strengths make you fall in love with them. If you are here for heartwarming glorified tone and emotions, you can run away right now because Weak Hero is the opposite. It presents the emotions the characters go through raw and real. They don’t underplay or overexaggerate the emotional journey of each of the characters. Thirdly, the cast (oh my days!!!) is fantastic. Bae Nara as Na Baekjin, I loved it. This show also had the best villain in my opinion. Usually villains are so plain boring. But I fully fell in love with Na Baekjin. He is such a complex, psychologically layered character. I cried at the ending of this drama. And let’s not forget our Sieun. He goes through so much and he grows into an amazing person. Okay, probably enough of my yapping… To wrap up, Weak Hero Class 2 was fantastic. Probably my favourite drama ever. If you haven’t watched it yet and are looking for a drama to watch next, Weak Hero is perfect. I’ve watched it more than 3 times already and you probably will too. I think you can tell how much I love this drama just by how much I wrote. Enjoy and stay dramaholic! Was this review helpful to you?
More brawls than brains
Huge upgrade at the structure of the storyline compared to its predecessor, a much better core premise than before as it got neater storytelling and more meticulous handling of emotions, all thanks to the mindblowing acting performances from all of the casts. However despite having a great political buildup to begin with, the actual plot development after the clash was initiated actually kind of fall short, most of the time it needs to make up with over the top fighting scenes to push forward the tension, like the final sequence that lasted for almost an episode long, but for the visual excitement though it's definitely worth it.Was this review helpful to you?
Action Packed yet still Emotional
It was a surreal experience that one of my favorite kdrama came back with a season 2! I really enjoyed every bit of the scenes and the friends sieun made was just as spectacular just like in the first season. However, it's a let down that we didn't see Jun Tae and Go Tak's family so that we can really expand our understanding towards their characters. I'm also glad that Jun Tae didn't forgive Hyo-Man for what he did to him. Nevertheless, i think they all did great. The villains were also commendable for their performance. Lee Jun Young's performance is just as great with his performance on Class of Lies (though different type of psychotic behaviour, they're still on par).
Moreover, Su-ho and Beom-seok's appearance here genuinely made me happy. They will be forever my weak hero trio.
The conclusion of this season was a bit underwhelming. Half of the last episode was just them fighting. Although, it was implicated at the end that our quadro are still together, i think it would be better if we saw their glimpses of memories—hanging out and playing basketball.
Just earlier, i went to a reddit post and i saw that it was a discussion if Suho and Sieun was inlove. Honestly, i do believe so. Yearning for almost 2 years is real love, if it's not, idk what is (would love for someone to send me updates in messages while im hospitalized, lol).
And with that, Park Ji Hoon, you're my fucking motivation and the fucking GOAT. Watch me ace the next academic year because of your performance as Sieun, just kidding.
Weak Hero Class 1 & 2 is one of the kdramas that is really on par with the webtoon they adapted. Hats off to the crew behind this, y'all also deserve a praise for this masterpiece you brought to us! I'll be rewatching this as soon as possible in the future.

The cycle repeats itself, but without him .
The first season will always be the best, but this second season was also incredible! It still hurts to see Sieun going through all this, even at a new school... He couldn't sleep properly because of Suho, and the fact that he thinks it was his fault is devastating.
In my opinion, something that made me happy to see was him making new friends despite the difficulties he was going through, especially Juntae, who never gave up trying to be his friend.
The most emotional scenes for me were when his new friends made sure he understood that what happened wasn't his fault; that scene with Beomseok was incredibly devastating; and of course, when Suho woke up, his little eyes and smile when he saw Suho... I could watch that scene a thousand times without getting tired.
I'm waiting for a third season, where they finally get the peace they deserve.

Class 2 Lives Up to Class 1
This is my first time writing a review for all the shows that I've watched but I feel like it's necessary after reading through some of the comments on this season.I just finished rewatching both seasons and I've upgraded season 2 to 10/10.
Season 1 was a masterpiece but I feel like season 2 truly played off the characters from Season 1.
Si Eun's character was so beautifully done in this season. I feel like his resilience as a human truly showed in this season, because despite losing all of his friends and going through terrible trauma/betrayal, he still had the capacity to accept new people into his life and to truly care for them. He truly had such a pure heart.
He was also ridden with guilt, feeling like Su ho's medical state was because of him, and as the story unfolds, you see that he also felt guilt for the outcome of Beom Seok's story. The scene at the airport when he finally hears the words he needed to hear, "It's not your fault" truly was such an outstanding moment.
Si Eun is one of my favorite characters in all the TV I've watched and I'll never stop thinking about his character development.
We are given a morally gray "villian", Baek Jin instead of the quintessential one-dimensional school bully that we were given in the first season. Yes, there are some unanswered questions such as why he started the Union in the first place and how his and Baku's relationship went sour but I found his character very compelling. We were given little breadcrumbs about how he wasn't all inherently bad. I truly feel sad for him as a character. It was evident that he grew up with no family or friends and was bullied/beaten until Baku came around. He had the union but everyone in it was using him just as much as he was using them. The only person to really truly love and care for him was Baku---but he ultimately lost that person too.
Baku was such an amazing addition to the show. His history reminded me of Baek Jin's in some ways. Baku grew up with an alcoholic father that treated Baku terribly and was always getting into trouble where Baku had to bail him out. He didn't have a figure in his life that truly loved him, but instead of going down the path that Baek Jin did, he chose to be a good person and have such a vibrancy of life. He reminded me of Su Ho in the way they would act/speak. So loud and uniquely themselves.
I also appreciated the addition of Jun Tae. I think he was given a story that was somewhat similar to Beom Seok's. He was assaulted and bullied, but when he finally got his group of friends, he continued to stay true to himself and be such an amazing friend/human. I wish we would have known a bit more about his past along with Go Tak but hopefully in season 3??
Overall, I LOVE this show. Yes, there where some unanswered questions, but through in through, the story, the characters, the acting, the fight scenes...so well done. I'm really hoping for season 3. They sure left a cliff hanger to do so if they wanted to. Seong Je would be a crazy villain since he really has no moral compass or loyalties. He almost treats everything as a game and will do anything to get a thrill. I'm crossing my fingers season 3 comes to fruition.

A good drama but not as good as S1
Overall its a good drama but something inside me tells me that its not as good as S1. I kept hoping Ahn Su Ho to wake up and bring back the spark in this drama but I guess he won't wake up for a while. I don't know if he wakes up in the later episodes or not as im in 6th episode right now. Some drawbacks about this drama was that it had strikingly the same characters as in S1 i.e a strong guy, a guy who looks like a nerd but in this case ig Seo Jun Tae doesn't betray the group like how Oh Beom Seok did in S1. This drama had little details similar to that of Study group too. For example, in study group it was Pi Han Ul and in this drama it was Na Baek Jin except for the fact that the person above Pi Han Ul was his dad and for Na Baek Jin it was a gangster (played by Jo Jong Seok) . All I can say about this drama is that Ryeoun did a really good job acting. This role was very different from the roles he has played till now and he did a good job showcasing his skills. The OSTs are also good but not as good as S1. The director was trying to make the drama funny and interesting like S1 but ig without Ahn Su Ho this drama doesn't give away those emotions which I felt while watching S1. The main thing about the first season was that Yeon Si Eun used his intelligence to fight the villains but in this season nothing like that is seen or portrayed (okay except for the fact that he told Seo Jun Tae about Newton's third law). Every single time he takes out his pen to attack, someone throws it down and he ends up using his fists. The pen was the main highlight of S1 and many of these highlights were not showcased in this drama which ended up in me making this drama a 5/10 .Was this review helpful to you?

Just as good as the first season and maybe even better
It’s not often that a second season or sequel can outdo the original, but I’ll be damned if Weak Hero Class 2 wasn’t a phenomenal follow up and continuation of the story. I’m so in for a season 3.Admittedly, I was hesitant about the second season, and that had everything to do with Su Ho. He was my favorite character from season 1 and I was left devastated by his unknown fate at the end. I was worried that he would be swept under the rug or killed off; left as an afterthought in the second season. Luckily, that wasn’t at all the case. So much of Si Eun’s journey had centered around his friendship with Su Ho. He was that person for Si Eun that allowed him to open up to the world and the driving force for him to find his smile. The ending of season 2 couldn’t have been better and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. (I’m still coping with the curveball that was Baek Jin’s fate, it’ll probably be some time before I come to terms with that).
I liked the cast of characters so much in season 2. There was just something about this group that grabbed me and kept me held on and invested. They were far less ambiguous in terms of who could be trusted or not. Sure, there was still the old switcheroo with Seong Je, but I was never foolish enough to believe he’d ever be anything other than selfish and all for himself.
If the story were to continue my only hope would be that we could get more than just male characters. I understand that the story is set within all male school systems, but still, it’s just a lot of dudes.
The acting is great, the story is cool, the fight sequences will make you want to rewind and watch those awesome kicks at least once again. Plus, Su Ho!!! I sincerely enjoyed this so very much and I’m just on cloud nine. Chingus, fighting!

A new environment, a new group
Weak Hero Class 2 returns with a new environment, in a different high school. The protagonist returns along with some new faces. While the new season delivers a gripping continuation, I can't say it completely lived up to the raw brilliance of Season 1. Where Season 1 thrived on slow-burn tension and devastating emotional buildup, Season 2 sometimes trades that for spectacle. The fights are frequent, beautifully choreographed, and absolutely brutal - but they’re also a little too polished at times. The character arcs were not explored much as well.
That said, the performances are phenomenal. Ryeoun, especially as Hu-min, is magnetic while the rest of the cast does a good job too. The new season is still binge-worthy - tense and brutal; but it doesn't reach the heights of it's predecessor.
My Rating : 4/5

More Fun Than Season 1
My 4 categories are Acting/Cast, Writing, Direction/SFX/Music, Entertainment Value.I actually wasn’t a fan of the first season. I had rated it a 5 out of 10. Which, for me is average – good enough for a watch. This season, though, I felt like they avoided the problems I had with the first. By the way, I have not read the webtoon.
Acting/Cast: Holy crap...everyone did amazing. I’m so impressed. Ryeo Woon (려운) played the perfect role for him apparently. I didn’t like his acting so much in Twinkling Watermelon, but in Weak Hero Class 2, he’s perfect for the type of role he’s playing. He’s my favorite character for this season. He reminds me of Wakka from Final Fantasy X (one of my all-time favorite video games). Also, Lee Jun Young (이준영) impressed me. I’ve been keeping an eye on him since his debut in Avengers Social Club (which is a favorite of mine). He’s been ok in everything I’ve seen him in, with Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale being one of his stronger roles. However, his role in Weak Hero Class 2 blows everything else he’s done out of the water. I really enjoyed his character; he’s another favorite of mine this season. I also have to give a shout out to Bae Na Ra (배나라). He hasn’t been in many K-dramas, but he needs to be in more. He especially needs more main roles. 10/10
Writing: I really like the overall writing this season more than the previous. I feel like this season flows a lot better and makes more sense. I love the characters in this season. The chemistry between the characters in the first season, however, was probably better. I liked the introduction and growth of Choi Min Yeong’s (최민영) character a lot. On the other hand, Lee Min Jae’s character (이민재), although a good character, didn’t get enough development. The point of Weak Hero is that the main character is not a fighter, but just crazy and smart. He uses his intelligence to win in fights. I think that aspect was lost at times (especially towards the end). I would have preferred that concept to be leaned into even more. I’m afraid if they make a third season, this concept will become even more lost. 7.5/10
Direction/SFX/Music: I LOVE watching Si Eun fight. His fighting style is so satisfying to me (using anything in the environment as something to stab someone with); I could watch him fight all day. The choreography was well done. The production value is very high; it seems they went all in for this season. The pacing does feel rushed at times, but overall the flow is pretty tight and streamlined. Pacing was a big issue that I had with the first season and this season did so much better. The music isn’t my style, but it’s not bad. I preferred season 1’s soundtrack. 9/10
Entertainment Value: I binged this the day it came out with no breaks and I only started to slightly lose interest at the very end. That’s saying a lot. It was able to hold my full attention for about 5 hours straight (the drama is around 5 ½ hours total). There’s a lot of action this season, a lot of fight scenes, and a lot of fun characters. 9.5/10
Overall, I gave this drama an 8.5/10. I didn’t expect that I’d enjoy it more than the 1st season. I am very impressed. I’m most impressed by the acting. If a 3rd season happens, I hope they stick to the original idea of the series, because that’s what really makes it entertaining.
파이팅!

Season two isn’t going to be season one
How many sequels/season twos can you count on your fingers that are as good as or better than the first? You probably can count them all on one hand. The originals are always the OGs and are irreplaceable. Plus arguably the best character was in a coma. I enjoyed it I was satisfied. But if there is a season three that one friend from season one better pull his wasian lookin ass up so he can get a nice ass whoopin and be then next one in a coma. That doofus lookin ho got off way to easy I’m not over itWas this review helpful to you?
