Just watch it for the chemistry!

This drama is your average, thriller, a bit of mystery, and romance drama. The story is full of plot holes and the mysteries are like in a loop, they keep repeating themselves and there is not much explanation behind it UNTIL the last episode. So, it gets really draggy in the middle, and many episodes become really bland.

The plot is actually quite interesting at first, but it gets a bit boring as the story goes on. There are several meaningless breakups, bad guys, and useless plots mixed altogether that create a really confusing drama. On the whole, the story is just an amalgamation of many side stories that can be cringe-worthy.

The couple, on the other hand, is the only thing that makes the story interesting. Their chemistry is very deep and the romantic scenes are beautifully depicted. Surprisingly, the leads have a great connection, and the kiss scenes are wonderfully shot. that's the only part worth mentioning in this drama. but they have meaningless breakups and lies, etc.

The soundtrack is so average and boring at times. I didn't like the repeating songs and glamorizing the scenes with rather irrelevant songs.

Overall, a pretty decent drama. But, i suggest FF many scenes and get straight to the couple's interaction. The mysteries and plots all unravel in the last few episodes so you won't miss a thing.

This is worth the watch!

The ML (Fan Zhi Xin) Bravo!
The storyline was interesting, The ML acting throughout was quite impressive. If it wasn't for the best friend and father being literally 'forced' into scenes, it would have been almost perfect. How the ML cared and protected the FL was an intimacy that truly makes you understand how she could not only fall in love, but also want to protect what was important to him. Some of the dialog after the warehouse scene didn't acknowledge the warehouse reveal which made the pace afterwards slightly off. OST very nice. The 2nd hospital scene was trying especially when ML and FL had their phones and were on the same floor. Staging could have been better on that part. Struggling to see each other really wasn't a task. However, that is just being picky. I can take that instead of the over-the-top scenes with the best friend and father.

I appreciate the fact that the story didn't drag.
Very nice flow from scene to scene. Very strong cast. OST is very nice.
With a cleaner edit of some the 'forced' scenes with support characters this would have been 20 episodes and a SOLID 10.
Must watch!

SMN : Do you love me? YXC : What do you think?

Started this one when I feel bored with my CW list. I was immediately hooked by episode 2.

What I liked :

✅️ Enemies to lovers. I'm a sucker for this genre so can't help enjoying this one.
✅️ Sizzling chemistry between leads. 10/10. You could feel like their love is real not just acting.
✅️ Spectacular acting especially from male lead, Fan Zhi Xin. His facial expressions were so on point! When he feels angry , sad , depressed, confidence, satisfied , happy & love it was all shown in his eyes, face and the way he acted. Watching him here feel like when I discovered Ryan Cheng in A Familiar Stranger. I wonder why he is not getting popular when his acting was this good?? I hope he get cast as ml in many drama in the future because his face & his acting deserves it.
✅️ Addicting , intense & angsty plot: 9/10. Watching this drama quench my thirst for angstiness .The last time I feel so much angstiness like this was when watching TTEoTM 4 months back.
✅️ Perfect OST :10/10. My favourite song is Parallel World by Jin Guicheng.
✅️ Good cinematography. I like the way some scenes being filmed helped provide meaning & more depth to the scene while watching.
✅️ Easy watch . Each episode roughly had 30 +- minutes excluding opening and ending credits. So it didn't take long to finish one.

What I liked the least:

☑️ Okay mystery & revenge plot.
✖️ The fact that fl has the same face as ml's sister. But I can forego that fact considering ml and his sister been separated since they were child and didn't even meet when they're adult.
❌️ Boring second couple story. I skipped all their scenes.

Overall, MLM was one of the best short C-drama I've watched this year. If you like what I liked, enemies to lovers, good looking male lead with great acting , sizzling romance , angsty story and all that watch this & you might enjoy it!

Let's have a drinking game

Bottoms up when:
1. FL cries
2. ML carries FL
3. Auntie wears ugly clothes
4. Cousin gets angry
5. Tang Lin says 'I like him!'
6. Tang Qin being reasonable and helpful and MENTALLY THE MOST ATTRACTIVE BEING IN THE WHOLE SERIES AND SINGLE AND WE NEED MORE SCREEN TIME
7. Someone cries without snot
8. You see cheap looking jewelries
9. You think Ruo Meina is pointless
BONUS a shot of baiju (or two) when you think oh finally sexy time! With all those kisses she should have been pregnant by now.

Who said this was 2023's best cdrama?

It made no sense from start to end. I was in the mood to watch a really nice fluffy trash drama, and that's the only reason I made it through all 24 eps. The writers were high on somethig serious, and ended up putting in every single drama trope in existence - illegitimate children, car accidents, murderous family members, corporate warfare, old rich grandpas, doppelgangers, supposed dead people coming back to life, spoilt rich psychos, idiot women who blindly chase uninterested men, drowning, ML trauma, underwater CPR, computer-savvy and hottie bodyguard sidekicks, lies, noble idiocy, crashed weddings, childhood trauma, parental favoritism, endless fighting for the CEO position, kidnapping attempts, weird foreign actors -- you name it, the writers managed to stuff it into this.

I'd say the most exciting parts were the first 6 eps and then directly skip to ep 16. The FL starts out dumb, is hella cool in the middle, then gets a little dumber, then becomes better, then finishes off with one last airhead move. The ML was by far the most interesting person in the show, but they mellowed him down so badly toward the end that the entire "lethal' side of him disappeared. However, ill admit it, the kissing scenes were GOOD. They were really, really good.

The second couples werent very interesting. The SML had one expression on for the entirety of the show.

ONLY WILL LIKE THIS IF ARE INTO SHITTING AND CLICHE DRAMAS WITH OBESIVED MAN AND SUBMISSE WOMEN WITHOU SELF RESPECT. AND IF ONLY WATCH BECAUSE THE ACTOR IS HOT. IF NOT THEN THIS INST FOR U

PLOT
SHIT AND SHIT, VERY CONFUSING AND THE ONLY THING GOOD IS THE ACTING OF ALL CAST AND OF COURSE TEHIR BEAUTIES TOO. THE STORYLINE SUCKS AND IS FROM A NOVEL OF WATPAD OR A FANFIC THAT WENT WRONG. IF YOU ARE A TEEN AND LIKE TOXIC STORIES THIS THE CUP OF TEA.

STORY AND BY RANT HOW I HATE THE FEMALE CHARACTER :

I don't understand why people like this drama. For me is a solid 6. Yes everyone is good at acting, that isnt the problem.. The story and female lead character are. First since when woman going to start love themselves more and stop been okay with everything a man does. This female lead is weak, selfish and suffers all drama. The main lead treats the female like shit , physical assault her all time lets not forget he is the one that forces her to enter a house and gaslight her because she has the eyes of his sister.... Then he dumps her and instated of her trying to accept he wants the one for her she literally forgets herself and start having stalker and manic behaviour she even humiliates herself I am sorry but its time to stop with this kind of toxic love teams, because young teens can be influence and believing love between tow people need to be harsh and full of physical assault and gaslight. PS: The second main leads are cute and very good , I stay for them .

THE BROROMANCE IS VERY GOOD IN FACT THEY SHOULD ALLOW A GAY COUPLE BECAUSE THAT TOW MAN ARE THE BEST TOGETHER.

SO YA 6 OUT OF 10

A Dark, Intense, and Addictive Melodrama but Beautiful Revenge Romance

My Lethal Man is one of those dramas that quietly pulls you in and then completely consumes you. I didn’t even realize I was in the mood for this kind of story until I started watching—and once I did, it far exceeded my expectations. This drama is absolutely worth watching for its gripping storyline, emotional depth, and unforgettable performances.

From the very beginning, the flow of the story is smooth and engaging. Every character is well-written and well-portrayed, and the casting feels perfectly chosen. The chemistry between the leads is one of the strongest highlights of the show, making every shared scene intense, emotional, and captivating. I’d easily give this drama a 10/10 because it keeps you hooked till the very end, especially with its twists and emotional turns. By the time you finish, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with Fan Zhi Xin.

Acting & Chemistry

I’ve watched countless dramas, but I’ve rarely seen an actor like Fan Zhi Xin. His portrayal of Yan Xing Cheng is truly mind-blowing. He doesn’t just act—he embodies the character. His eyes alone convey pain, rage, vulnerability, and suppressed trauma so vividly that you can feel every emotion through the screen. Whether he’s angry, broken, or silently suffering, his performance hits hard and stays with you.

Li Mo Zhi is equally impressive. She beautifully transitions from the timid and insecure Shen Man Ning to a stronger, braver version of herself. Her emotional scenes, especially her crying moments, feel genuine and heartbreaking. Together, Fan Zhi Xin and Li Mo Zhi create a powerful on-screen partnership. Their chemistry is intense, comforting, and deeply emotional—lines like “I’m here” during dangerous moments feel incredibly reassuring and meaningful.

The supporting cast also deserves praise. Every actor delivers a solid performance, adding depth to the story rather than feeling like filler characters.

Story & Themes

This drama is not your typical light romance. It blends revenge, suspense, romance, trauma, and healing into one intense narrative. The plot revolves around identity, loss, and forced relationships, with a central trope that may not be everyone’s cup of tea—the female lead being the doppelgänger of the male lead’s long-lost sister. This aspect has led to some negative reactions, but if you can digest that premise, the story has much more to offer beneath the surface.

What makes My Lethal Man stand out is how it flips the usual romance formula. Instead of slowly falling in love, the leads are forced into a relationship and gradually learn to trust, rely on, and heal each other. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic is surprisingly addictive, giving strong “Wattpad vibes” for fans of that trope.

The suspense is another strong point. Almost every episode ends in a way that makes you eager to watch the next. The twists are well-placed and genuinely surprising without becoming overly ridiculous, which is rare for melodramatic C-dramas.

Direction & Cinematography

The direction is thoughtful and emotionally driven. Certain scenes are especially powerful, such as:

The blood-drawing in hospital elevator scene
The male lead’s grandfather’s death
The burning paper scene in the car
The symbolic drawing of the drowning child

These moments are not just dramatic—they’re meaningful and layered with symbolism. The cinematography also deserves praise. The lighting is beautifully controlled, perfectly matching romantic, dark, or emotional moods, making many scenes feel aesthetic yet heavy with emotion.

OST & Production

The OST complements the drama perfectly, enhancing emotional scenes and heightening tension when needed. Combined with the high-budget feel, gorgeous cast, and stylish wardrobe (even for secondary characters), the production quality adds a lot to the viewing experience.

Final Thoughts

My Lethal Man is a dark but beautiful revenge romance filled with intense emotions, strong performances, and addictive drama. Yes, it’s melodramatic and cheesy at times—but that’s exactly part of its charm. If you enjoy suspenseful romances with emotional turmoil, passionate chemistry, and dramatic twists, this drama delivers all of that and more.

Despite mixed opinions, I’d strongly suggest giving it a chance. Watch a few clips—especially the hospital or elevator scenes—and decide for yourself. If you do, chances are you’ll end up smiling, crying, emotionally wrecked, and completely in love with Fan Zhi Xin by the end.

Not for the logic but for the dopamine...oohh and the OST

Every now and then, we all need a break from the heavy plots, those emotionally charged, well written dramas like Weak Hero Class 2 or The Prison of Love. Sometimes, it’s okay to set aside logic, suspend common sense and dive headfirst into the chaos of a show like My Lethal Man.

Let’s be honest: the plot was a rollercoaster with more holes than a fishing net, and the writing often went wildly off track. But here’s the thing,We Personally I stayed for him. Fan Zhi Xin.He delivered yet another magnetic performance, reminding us why he's a fan favorite. His on-screen presence? Unmatched. The chemistry with the FL which thank goodness she reciprocated once she grew a pair. This man is Electric, even at a young age of 26 And let’s not forget that killer combo of EQ, IQ, and effortless charisma of his character that the writer soberly put together.

And then there's the secret ingredient that made this drama unmissable—the Viki comment section. It's a treasure of sharp wit, shared laughter, and a communal love for the absurd. Sometimes, that collective experience is what truly elevates a helps to get through some painful cringe fest.

My Lethal Man may not make it to the top of anyone’s “Best Script” list, but it earns a spot in your watch history—for all the right and wrong reasons.

If you want to be entertained, it's entertaining

==Breakdown==
Background plot - 45%
Romance - 45%
Misc comedy - 10%

Background plot - Fine
Romantic chemistry - Excellent
Misc comedy - Good
Production value - Not the best

Here's what you need to know:
1. The story is ridiculous with lots of plot holes and silly deus ex machina resolutions, but also keeps you guessing. It follows tropes and then subverts those tropes. If you don't mind non-sensical plot points, then this might be for you. I gave the story a generous 7 star rating because the characters' choices surprised me several times (in a good way)
2. The best part of the show is the ML. He gets progressively better with each episode and the drama is honestly worth watching just for him. Like other reviewers have said, he's consistent for the whole show.
3. The FMC will frustrate you, but she's not terrible. The actress did the best job possible with the script. That said, she was a bit of a doormat which made me sad. I didn't need her to be badass or whatever, but early on it would've been good for her to have a better reason for falling for the MMC and some self-awareness around how problematic he is. Like, fall for him, sure. But have her question how bonkers it is to fall for a guy like him.
4. You can FastForward all the scenes with the FMC's best friend, they are filler and mind-numbingly boring.

Overall, very entertaining.

Simply Put

You all I just want to say that the ML, put everything in to this role, when I say he protrayed every emotion, I was there for everyone of them, from mad, to awe, to jealousy, to love, and sadness.... I will definitely be looking out for other works from him, cause he did that, in this drama..... also I'm not say the other cast member were bad or anything, they had a great cast the FL was consistant all the way through, she did a wonderful job.

I'm more of a main couple person, I'm really not into side character relationships because it always seem like they move really fast and the main couple has to go through a struggle, I rather see that struggle, then to see side characters going out to eat, but thats just me.

Great drama a must watch

Great drama..I loved it at parts and hated it at parts as well. Why ML didn't just tell FL he loved her was beyond me. And at the end I half expected her to say she was pregnant. I like the male leads rough nature at first then he softens up for her.

I've got to many questions like why didn't Yan YI's mom ask about her father or her daughter? Or even ask about the fact that her son was in love with her daughters doppelganger? And what's up with the fighter? On the stairwell it looked as if he wanted to tell her he liked her as well but stopped as if on second thought I'll just pass her to be busy?? Or how Shen Manning and Tang Lin's could bury the hatchet so to speak without actually speaking? Or how you can break a car window with your elbow. It unlocking a door by knocking the door kept off? Or Yan YI's remedy for allergies. ALL these questions and NOT enough answers.

But it really shocked me on how Tang Lin's brother is not only the president of not only his company but LH Star as well, when he admitted he was behind the corporate espionage.

Plus wouldn't it be weird to sleep with someone who now has your sisters eyes and looked exactly like her?? It'd make me feel like I was sleeping with my own sister.

Fan Zhi Xin nailed it again!

After watching hundred+ drama, it makes me feel bored, but with this drama, my excitement watching cdrama came back again. Each episodes wanted me to watch for the next episodes. It gives you feel that you wanted to solve the puzzle that entangled for the Main lead. Though the character of FL's best friend is quite annoying, she acted like a teen-ager not with her age. But of course you can skip those scenes.
The OST is repeatedly played in lmany scenes, even sad, happy, main leads moments and for the other couple's moment.
I just thinking how will you fall in love with the same face of your dead sister?
