no incest. dont worry.

i love the FL in other big dramas as supporting actress like Go Ahead, Royal Feast, As Beautiful As You. this is the first time i watch her as main lead (eventhough i know this drama is not her 1st time as main character). she nailed it. as expected.

the ML is a great actor. i love his acting so much. but im not really familiar with him before. this is the first proper drama of him as main lead that i watch (only watch him in cuts and edits before)

the plot is good. the love game between the two is *chefkiss. but the family tree, i mean, familiES treeS are messed up. at first you are his son, suddenly you are not. she is your sibling, and later she is not.. but suddenly she is your sibling again (facepalm). the SFL is the half sibling, then she is suddenly not. the SML is half sibling of this and suddenly he is to that. so messed up lmao.

but dont worry, no incest in this drama. almost, but the plot twist said nope.

overall, rewatch worthy and recommended.

Oh the acting!

Though the story is the chinese version of any classic indian-soap-opera, THE ACTING, O MY GAWWWWWD!!!! Even the deliveryman delivering top-notch acting, let alone the main leads!!!! FREAKING LOVED EVERYONE'S ACTING!! The chemistry among the characters & the detailed story of each character were superb as well. I don't generally rewatch things, but maybe will go back someday on youtube for xu nuo-shen jiahe edits!! Very good melodrama & recommended to anyone who wants melodramatic-romantic entertainment!!

Binge worthy, adorable leads

I dunno why this drama rate is lower than expected. I totally enjoy everything about this drama, hell with loopholes. Not pressing to much skip button as the storyline is flowing quite nicely.

The CHEMISTRY IS 🔥🔥🔥. There are some forced kiss here and there, also spoiled brat moments, but personally I can understand where it came from. The toll of greedy egotistical parents can do dat to you.

Albeit tense, it has lots and lots of sweet moments dat make you wanna smile and ship for the main leads. For me its a GO! Very much RECOMMENDED!!!

Such a rollercoaster!!

I came across this drama because it was recommended on my YouTube and I watched the video on it. Thought it could be interesting to watch but wasn't to sure because I hadn't seen any of the actors really in anything else. I am so glad I gave this short drama a shot. I really do think this is the best short drama I have watched so far. What can be so annoying with short dramas is they don't take the time to explain anything or go into back stories very well. This drama did all that and more, and I have not seen these actors before but I was blew away with their acting. The ML his break down scenes I thought were insane I wanted to cry with the guy.

For me I felt like the story kept me on the edge of my seat just wanting to know what else was going to happen next with these two lead characters. Yes there are some misunderstandings between these two but I didn't find it as annoying as most dramas, cause a lot of the time the misunderstands are just so silly that your just rolling your eyes and wanting them to get over it already. The misunderstandings in this wasn't like that you can understand and feel for them. Was annoyed with the 2ML for a little while cause he came off as that typical cling to the FL even though I know she doesn't feel that way for me type of 2ML, and I can't stand with they just can't take a hint. This 2ML was actually bigger in the show then he first comes off. Also the chemistry between the two leads was so good.

I think this drama should at least be given a shot for a short drama. It does cover everything and you are not left wondering what actually happened or needing questions answered cause they just forgot about it. It also does have a happy ending for ones that don't like sad endings.

Another Dog Blood Drama

The trailer made me slightly excited only for it to be one of the most trope-y dramas to ever exist. This is clearly a story about FL trying to regain her position in her family's company after ML essentially takes over, but ML turns out to be the main character that outsmarts everyone time and time again. FL disappears into the wallpaper, being more bluster than brains and having the maturity of a high schooler.

This is like the third drama I've watched from Fan Zhi Xin and it always feels like a fever dream. This drama like a number of his other ones are uploaded on to Youtube by Youku and the comments are always praising how great of an actor he is. But when I watch his dramas, he plays the same character every single time. It's always some OP ML who's in a position of power (CEO, General, Young Master) with a love-hate relationship with FL and a hint of revenge. Weirdly enough, the dramas always are misogynistic flavored - the ML is always the sole main character and the FL is a ditzy character (immature, powerless, etc.) I kind of wonder if the same scriptwriter is the one writing his dramas. There's no way he's able to continue getting roles that are 90% similar to each other. The audience doesn't care I guess because they're more concerned with his kissing and bed scenes, hence the premises/character identities are important.

TLDR: Plot was every trope thrown together: friends to enemies, enemies to lovers, adopted sibling to lovers, high school love, inheritance fight, battling your father's conniving mistress who is the same age as you, switched at birth, secret identities, contract marriage, marriage of convenience, and pseudo incest. Acting was subpar and not subtle at all.

Hot male lead does a superb job!

There are hot main leads, lots of kisses, and full skinship. He loved deeper, longer and bolder. They play the game of love for keeps. This even has a blissful ending.

With a C-drama, there is much drama, but the male lead makes it all work out in the end with his smart tricks and how he protects the female lead.

I didn't like the father and second female lead. However, I noticed that everything turned out to be plot devices in how fate kept working in the main couple's storyline.

In the end, truth is served. This gives me a sense of satisfaction for a very excellent romance. 💖

I expected better :(

PLOT: The FL, daughter of the president of a large company, returns from studying abroad to discover that her adoptive brother has become the leader of the group, that her parents are divorced, and that her father is engaged to her adoptive brother's ex (the ML). She thinks it's a plot hatched by the ML. Wanting at all costs to get back what she feels belongs to her, she becomes his assistant, then a colleague. A love game complicated by love triangles...

+++ Fan Zhi Xin is fantastic, sexy, brilliant, and moving in these mysterious and romantic plots. I really like He Rui Xian, but I prefer her in action series.
+++ Lots of very good actors, some veterans, and an excellent bad guy, Wang Zu Yi.
+++ Good OSTs

BUT:

1/ The bad writing didn't correct the flaws of the original series, a lakorn, overdramatic. Here, we have violence, a lot of slap-kisses and forced kisses.

### I know the plot wants the FL character to be "strong," fearless, impulsive, and stubborn. This was the case in the original Thai series (and it was one of the flaws that should have been corrected). But here, it's still the case! She's supposed to be intelligent, but she's stupid, impulsive, childish... Unbearable ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ノ
### Bad (re)writing: flat, hollow dialogue / inconsistent behavior / senseless twists / etc.

2/ I don't like the 15-minute-per-episode format.

3/ Rather low-budget series: only a few sets, few costumes.

=> Excellent actors, but the production and writing are not up to par.
*************************************************************************
J'attendais mieux :(

+++ Bons OSTs

Insupportable ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ノ

Paternity unknown

The acting was very natural, especially the gestures between the two main characters. She demonstrated a selfless nature and was very correct. He, despite appearing arrogant and hiding his desire for revenge, has a sensitive soul and would kill for her.
Be careful who you trust... nothing is as it seems.
They will protect each other and hurt each other. It's heartbreaking to watch them hurt, lying about their true feelings that drive them to behave this way. He desperately tries to protect her, and then she tries to protect him. He breaking up with her, she saying she's marrying the other...
"Their" father, however, was the worst of all, a real piece of shit!

At one point, I couldn't understand how many fathers were killed, given all these children seeking revenge.

game of true love review

Ok, so this is my first short drama that I’ve ever watched and I have to say, it is an adjustment. The dramatics of it all and the very like businessman, bossy CEO trope that is present with all short dramas is definitely a little bit cliche at times. Not to mention how the main relationship is always SO toxic. I gotta say, I do like the shorter episodes though. There’s something that just makes me seem so much more accomplished when I finish more episodes, even if the duration is shorter.

However, I have to say, I do love the connection between Xu Nuo and Shen Jiahe. Although they are so toxic for eachother and prob should never speak or interact with each other again for the mental sanity of both of them, they can’t stay apart. They know so much about the other and still really care for the other no matter what they try to say. So, I am rooting for them to stay together even despite all the millions of challenges that will come their way and I know of that. I love how Shen Jiahe can just read Xu Nuo so well and emotionally connect to her in a way no one else can. He always knows when she’s upset and knows how to calm her down or leave her alone. He is always there to protect her, from episode 1. Despite all the ups and downs, they are both always there for the other person and I am sure of that. That’s one of the things I love, is that no matter what, you can count on the other person.

You know what I don’t like though…Xu Mingli’s relationship with Bai Xia. That is just so weird. I can’t get over the age gap and the fact that Bai Xia doesn’t actually love him and likes Shen Jiahe, which is basically Mingli’s foster son. Like that whole dynamic is so weird. I hate Bai Xia’s character and it’s prob meant to make the audeince feel that way so good job. Bai Xia actually has no compassionate bone in her body and I hate how she always frames Xu Nuo to be the bad one, when she herself sets up most of the things that happens. Man, how obsessed can you be over money? And her mother is soooo annoying too. Like anytime I see her or Mingli with Bai Xia’s more intimate scenes, I inwardly cringe. Like it’s just weird I don’t like it. The fact that Mingli gives up his own relationship with his daughter and mother of his child just to be with Bai Xia is insane to me. Like there’s no way ur slapping your own daughter when you don’t know both sides of the story and just instantly take Bai Xia’s side. Like hello? How dense do you have to be?

What the heck? How could they ever be siblings? What is going on with this family? Xu Mingli is actually so toxic and manipulative. Same with Bai Xia. When Jiahe had to break the news to Xu Nuo, he still did what was best for her. It broke both of them, but he didn’t want her burdened with the truth that he was her biological brother (although don’t know if that’s true completely). The actor did a rlly good job with that scene though. The way u could see the physical pain on his face for having to treat Xu Nuo that way. There’s no way Xu Mingli basically “ra…” Jiahe’s mom bro. Ok they’re actually so toxic tho. The slapping and the hurting each other with words. It’s like two children fighting. But then, the making up and the locking in the house. Like, come on. Let’s be adults huh?

I'm glad it was a happy ending, but man was that a rollercoaster. There were so many plot twists that it started to become too much and like too unbelievable. But, the ending was nice. I'm glad that Chi Ye isn't hated on by Xu Nuo and Shen Jiahe because all he wanted to do was gain revenge for his family and keep his relationship with Xu Nuo. But, at the end, I think he realized there was literally no turning back. So, he ended up making the decision to end his own life. However, Xu Nuo and Jiahe still understood his reason behind it, so I liked when they went back to the place his ashes were thrown in the ocean to honor him. The little child at the end is so cute too, although, I wish we got to see more of their process becoming parents.

it's good for time pass
you will have fun while watching it
story was good for and a little bit of cliche for me , characters were good
but i think sometimes the expression of female lead were confusing in front of male lead
it also became repetitive at some point
last 2 -3 eps were not up to the mark for me
