started watching this cuz I love me some second chance / revenge stories and I'm happy that I did. The story flows steadily as we get to see our FL find strength and allies while the antagonists get closer and closer to their doom. Revenge doesn't happen over night and its entertaining to watch Jiwon use her knowledge from future to lure Soomin and Min hwan to get her past fate.

Song Ha yoon and LeeYi kyung both do an incredible job playing their roles as Soomin and Min hwan. You know one is a great actor when you hate the character they play with passion. Never felt any pity for them ....like EVER.
I wanted them gone in a sense that I wanted Jiwon to succeed in her revenge plan but at the same time wanted them to stay cuz watching them was entertaining.
There are some interesting side characters and I wished we saw more of them as I think their stories were a bit rushed such as Yang Joo ran, Mr Lee, Eun ho and Yeon hee. all in all these are the strong points that made this watch enjoyable for me but now let me talk about small issues that kept me from giving it a 10. These might sound a bit childish but I couldn't ignore them while watching.

1. Yura . I understand the point of her characters existence and her roll in the "fate" aspect of the story but god she's hard to watch . I was not enjoying the chaotic evilness she brought to the story at all. we already had strong antagonists. competing with them cant be easy but Yura is in no way an interesting character at all. she's a cliche of all stuck up, rich brats from kdramas ever. the actress doesn't help the situation eighter. She is pretty awkward on screen. Also the addition of this character gave it a Makjang feeling ( search the term if you don't know the meaning) but everything became extreme all of sudden.

2. Music. OSTs are something I normally don't pay attention to. Here they use some bts songs to reveal a plot twist ( trying to not give out spoilers ) but the way they went about it was ..... something. Cuz why they decided to play spring day and dynamite SO LOUDLY?? them talking about it was enough. Im an Army so of course I was giggling and kicking my feet but that was just weird.

This is temporary and I will make a full review of the show after I finish it, but as of ep 12 I am so angry with this dip in writing that I think I need to rant to cool off before I permanently drop the show. What the fuck is this dumbass Yu-ra plot?!?!??!?!?! Can we please stop using this old trope of "ex lover comes to town and causes dumbass misunderstandings that are greatly exaggerated for the sake of senseless drama!" because it is reallylllylyly getting old. I never really understood the rage others had of this trope until now. I just saw it in all of its glory and I feel like my blood vessels are about to burst. Why the fuck is Ji-won suddenly treating Ji-hyuk like some scumbag??? He didn't even do anything wrong. WTF. This guy ended things with this girl he was put into an ARRANGED MARRIAGE WHEN THEY WERE LITERAL CHILDREN with. Dear god he ended the engagement before he started even officially dating Ji-won, so why is she treating him like he is a cheater? Like, do not compare him to Min-hwan lmao. Then she has the audacity to say she can't be with him because the annulment of the engagement wasn't mutual.........what.......? Does someone need mutual consent to end a relationship? This isn't the 1800s........stop acting like he is some monster for ending a relationship HE ADMITTED HE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH IN THE PAST LIFE!!!!! Does he need to be abused like you were by your husband for it to be justified????? So fucking stupid. Then this bitch Yu-ra is, surprise (!), a raging bitch! Because we can't write female villains without them being stereotypes and haters of other womens' happiness!!!!! (kill me) This plot is so fucking stupid I swear if they paint it like Ji-hyuk needs to apologize in the following episodes and that Yu-ra is somehow a victim I am going to front flip into a ravine. Also I'm pretty sure this wasn't even a plot in the webtoon, so like wtf is it even added in for? Could they not think of a replacement to fill time OTHER than this dogwater?!??!! And here I was praising the show for being leagues better than the webtoon too......they better redeem this story or this plotline will tank my entire perception of the rest of it by association........

A drama where revenge is personal, time travel is emotional, and justice is fashion-forward

I normally don’t like to watch revenge dramas, but after “The Glory”, I became less reluctant to watch this sub-genre. I don’t like time-travelling shows either, unless it is done well. So I went into this drama with not much expectation, except I haven’t seen Min Young since “Her Private Life”, so I thought I should give this a chance, and boy, I’m glad I did.

This drama asks: what would you do with your life, if given a second chance to relive it? Ji Won travels back in time to do just that, after dying not from terminal cancer as she was pre-destined to do, but from an argument with her husband and her best friend about their infidelity. Ji Won uses this second chance to turn her life around, refusing to become the doormat she once was, and using the knowledge she gained from her future, to mitigate her losses and transfer them to somebody else.

It was also during this time travel that she learned about her unrequited boss’ feelings for her. It turns out that Ji Hyeok has been quietly supporting her all along despite her obliviousness.

This drama was filled with so much angst and intrigue that I relished every moment of it. I also liked the brooding Na In Woo when he shoots heart eyes at Park Min Young’s character. It is the first time I’ve seen In Woo as a main lead in a drama and he didn’t disappoint. I’ve loved Min Young since "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" so I already knew what I was expecting and she delivered.

Perhaps the only thing that prevented me from throwing a bottle at the TV is my hope that justice will be served in the end. It was frustrating to see Min Hwan and Soo Min acting so entitled and devious, as if the world owed them something and both blaming others for their misfortunes. Min Hwan’s mother is no better. I wanted to rip her hair out for treating her daughter-in-law so badly.

Despite these frustrations, “Marry My Husband” is a highly entertaining watch.

Never missed an episodes since day 1 it was aired!

Finished watching an amazing show of the year! The entire cast was perfect for their roles. Initially, I felt it was strange to see Mr. Gwenchana in a serious role, but after a few episodes, both antagonists started making my blood boil. The acting was awesome, and I want to give a special shoutout to Park Min-Young, Na In-Woo, Lee Yi-Kyung, and Song Ha-Yoon for their exceptional performances.

It was seriously amazing to watch this show, and I had been waiting for new episodes since January 1st. I was dying out of curiosity to know what would happen next. This show is a MUST WATCH! It has an amazing plot that keeps you curious from start to end.

got isekai’d, equipped petty level 100, and turned revenge into a full-on rom-com speedrun! nice !

"Marry My Husband : 8.8 or 9/10 – A Juicy, Vengeful Fantasy That Hits All the Right Buttons"
WHY IT’S ADDICTIVE:
Park Min-young’s glow-up from doormat to mastermind – Watching her dismantle her old life is chef’s kiss.

The time-travel revenge twist – Like "Revenge of the Nerds" meets "Gone Girl"—so satisfying.

Na In-woo’s golden retriever energy – The anti-toxic male lead we all needed.

THE "OH COME ON" MOMENTS:
The villains are cartoonishly evil – Like, "boo-hiss" mustache-twirling levels.

Some convenient plot armor – Oh, suddenly she’s a genius strategist? Sure.

That one product placement – We get it, they love subway sandwiches.

THE "YAAAS QUEEN" SCENES:
The public takedown moments – Pure schadenfreude in HD.

The romance slow burn – Sweet, supportive, and zero toxicity. Refreshing!

VERDICT:
"A fantasy catharsis for anyone who’s ever wanted to yell ’I QUIT!’ at their life." Watch if: You love revenge plots, second chances, and Park Min-young’s wardrobe. Skip if: You hate drama or unrealistic makeovers.

When Life Gives You Second Change, GRAB IT!!

I watched it mainly cuz of its REBIRTH/ TIME TRAVEL concept and cuz am a huge fan of it, Yes this can be a new thing to some people watching it, but to me, it wasn't, there are many..like over 40 short Cdramas (full version) are available on YT and other platforms, that are based on same REBIRTH concept (am calling it rebirth cuz FL dies and then travels back in time so you find these dramas labeled as rebirth Chinese dramas on YT). I LOVE THIS concept as it's very fascinating as life gives a second chance to dumb/innocent/naive FLs who ignore all red flags that their partners give in a relationship, in the name of love. They get a chance to correct their mistakes and to fight back. But some FLs still get bullied and go through shit as they are very soft-hearted..(they are hopeless). well in most of these dramas FL becomes badass and shows no mercy on people who wronged her, that's why I enjoy watching these dramas. They all have pretty much the same story, FL's boyfriend and best friend/stepsister have an affair behind her back, and later they kill FL, ML is someone who had a crush on FL but either got rejected or never expressed his feelings to her, he tries to save her but either ends up dying with her or after punishing people who killed her (su***de)cuz he cant live without her. mostly only FL travels back in time, sometimes even ML goes back in time but that's very rare. Even though the concept is the same I watched over 40 movie-length dramas cuz after traveling back in time FL has a UPPER HAND most of the time as she knows what whats gonna happen and who scheming against her, whom to trust and who not to trust. evil-doers keep worrying about FL's attitude change and they can't wrap their heads around how she knows everything and why she behaving the way she is. and that's SOO MUCH FUN!!

This show had all these things that are expected but as it isn't a short story and had to make 16 long episodes they added a lot of extra but entertaining things like stories of side characters, FL's every emotion is shown clearly like how hurt she was cuz of her best friend's betrayal and they even showed how soo-min handled her family as a wife by continuing to manipulate her husband and mother-in-law. there were some WTF moments like how Min Hwan reacted when he thought Ji Won was pregnant with his child vs how he reacted when he thought Soo-Min was pregnant that difference is very bizarre. I did watch the webtoon but won't comment on it as we still dunno if they gonna show the same thing or not so I better refrain from mentioning my thoughts based on the webtoon. I hope they use better reasoning in the show though, in the last 3 episodes.

I also want to mention that they chose very talented cast members, I like the FL(actor)( watched all her shows), her foodie bestie, and her school crush. oh yeah, how can I forget the most entertaining character of all Park Min Hwan..haha he is a hilarious, Waikiki show guy right? All his roles are entertaining.

Mmmmmm…

The manwha was much better. Less is more. Firstly, they changed Jiwon’s Height weight and beauty. This Jiwon is too Beautiful upfront. Jiwon Was meant to be tall, stronger than Sumin and with subtle beauty that took time to notice. Sumin was meant to be cheap, Plastic like a toy, and childish in comparison. She Could not have been able to afford all those Elegant and classy clothing. She was meant to look childish in comparison to Jiwon if Jiwon was to put effort in her appearance. Minwha was never mean to be funny. Wang Jurang was never meant to be weak and pathetic. Mr Lee was not meant to be that powerful or arrogant. It is not sexy. What a waste. Jihyuk was meant commit suicide , Emphasising his love for Jiwon and the detrimental effect of her death, on everybody.
The theme was meant to be, “ It was so easy ,why didn’t I do that before?” Jiwon should’ve noticed that minwha was horrible and had the will to leave her. She was so desperate for love, so she ignored all the warnings. When she found that the love she received was wrong, she was meant to turn and reject everything. Sumin was never strong enough to attack Jiwon directly, That was why she used manipulation lies and indirect attack. This Sumin is too strong and short tempered. The other Sumin Knew how to handle her emotions and scheme well. That was why she was able to ruin Jiwon’s life. She was not the sort to do at this Sumin does. To Physically attacked Jiwon directly. It was meant to be easy to break out of sumin’s manipulation, But harder to end The relationship with minwha. That was why jihyuk was there, For her to lean when she falls. To offer help when she needs it, Because he loved her. I would not have minded If the drama changed his behaviour when he returned, Or made him apologise. That would have been a reasonable change. Yura was taken from Sumin in the manwha. Where is Sumin’s calculating murder of the mother-in-law? Sumin takes any opportunity that she sees. She was never the sort to directly plot and murder somebody. She Was never sought to attack somebody directly. That was why she used the car that was left open, and the needle. Minhwa’s death should’ve been by his own hands. Sumin in the manwha would’ve never dared to attack Jiwon directly. She knew the limits of her power, therefore , used rumours and manipulation, taking advantage of her childish beauty, to manipulate others. She was starving herself, therefore was weaker and smaller and did not have the strength to attack Jiwon. Or anybody. She was never the sort. She used words. That was her biggest weapon. She was not an intelligent person, She was not meant to be making grand schemes. She was not meant to be difficult to defeat. This drama exaggerated her for drama. It ruined the flow of the story. Jiwon was never meant to reveal her plans, or her discovery of Sumin’s true nature. Jiwon was the true schemer. She was meant to exercise her schemes and sit back and let everybody else work it out. She was never meant to tell anybody of her schemes or past or confront them. The constant confrontations ruined the story. It’s ruined the subtlety of Jiwon schemes. They ruined Mrs Yu, TERRIBLY! They ruined the beauty and unity of the Yu family It’s possible, TERRIBLY! They turned a beautiful Manwha into a common story. You jihyuk was meant to be helping Jiwon Blindly, Without knowing her schemes or that she returned. It was meant to emphasise his love and redness to offer himself to her. The strength of his love. This love feels weaker. Jihyuk in the manwha did not even question what she needed, he simply offered it his help. He didn’t even know if it was for Jiwon’s own good. If Jiwon asked, he would do, like a puppy. Jiwon was never meant I have short hair. She was meant to use and do something with the hair that she had. Long hair was not meant to represent weakness. Minhwan was also mean to be the only person plotting to kill somebody, that which they gave to Yura. Mr Kim was simply meant to be a discarded sleeze. A bad person that continues to be worse. I don’t like that they redeemed him. There are many people like him in workplaces. They added too many workplace villains. Removing him was meant to symbolise the rise to power of the weak in work places. The main couple were meant to leave their current workplace and pursue other interest to show their collective ambition. Sumin was never meant to gain stocks. She pursued the downfall of Jiwon want too aggressively for someone without any standing to do so. What annoyed me most about this is that Jiwon was written to cower and accept everything that she did, on her second life! She didn’t slap her face once, because she was not bigger or stronger as she should’ve been. Her only power was meant to be manipulation. The drama exaggerated her scheming. It was confusing and off-putting. She was meant to be stupid, but seemed intelligent and stupid at the same time, too often. Minwha was meant to die by his own hands, along with his mother, on the same day, because of Sumin. The bad characters were never meant to be tricky To defeat. That was the point. Why did the characters stayed in these situations for too long, when it was so easy to leave. Jurang, Jiwon, Huiyeon, even Jiyhuk did nothing. It was a second chance, for them, to make the decision that was always there to make. EVERYTHING WAS WRONG, and the manwha was soo good!! Sumin trusted her manipulation of Jiwon Too much to not assume that she was breaking free simply because of a few changes at the beginning. It is not as if she Returned to the past, And was therefore anxious that Jiwon won’t Continued down the same path.

What type of time travel drama is Marry My Husband? How good is this Korean drama?

Marry My Husband is a time slip (Time Travel) drama.

This is a story about a woman in her forties. Her husband in Marry My Husband is a real loser, a real piece of work. Her best friend is having an affair with her husband and she is dying of cancer. The heroine of the story then is killed by her husband. Right before her death, she time slips into the past, back ten years. This information is not a spoiler, because all this action takes place in the first 15 minute. (Time Slip: Having no apparent means of traveling through time).

Quote: “The living should go on living. You are going to die anyway”. Best girlfriend explaining why she cheated with her with the husband of the heroine.

Marry My Husband is a great time slip Korean Drama, which is from a web novel and serialized Webtoon by the same name. In this drama, the Time Slip (Time Travel) is not just used as a cab ride to the past. Marry My Husband is trying to observe present assumptions about time slip (time travel). Our heroine is thrust back in time. While in the past, she attempts to change small details about her future miserable life that leads to an untimely death. However, she is not succeeding at making even very small changes. Her course for the future seems fixed and doomed to repeat itself. The heroine appears to have entered the crack of a parallel universe where changes to the future is not possible. The events keep readjusting itself to preserve the original outcome to preserve the past. This eliminates paradoxes. Changes to the future is assumed only possible when entering the open time loop section of the past or the open time loop of the wormhole. When changes are made, this sets up an alternative universe in the future which is different from before (A wormhole is a shortcut through time).

Even though the heroine may not be able to change her future, she reckons that she might be able to get someone else to substitute into her misfortune. Maybe she could get someone else to marry her no good husband, before it is time for her to do so. That way she will change her own time vector, because hers is now occupied by someone else. WOW! Whether the idea follows the science or not, this unique idea tries to address what to do if you don’t fall into the correct wormhole.

This substitution concept idea of Time Slip (Time Travel) is uniquely different from any time slip (time travel) ideas which I have explored thus far. As the Korean drama Marry My Husband progresses, we will see if she is successful with the time substitution idea. I am surely good for the ride though. It is a go for me for the Korean Drama Marry My Husband. Our heroine gets a second chance at second chances.

I think that Marry My Husband is going to be a major hit.

Cast
Multiple Baeksang Arts Award winner Park Min-young (Marriage in Contract), Na In Woo (River Where the Moon Rises), and Lee Yi-kyung (Welcome to Waikiki).

Ravishing

Just two episodes have been aired, but I have been controlling my breath already.

Ji wan has lost everything. From the love of her life to the one friend she relies over her life-she holds nothing when death claimed her. But did her story end even before starting?

This is not just another tale of revenge. An impending love triangle has been has been hidden subtly. The love Ji wan did not get all the time is coming with an unexpected bounce. The boss with a frown is here. Don't miss the chef with a sweet and adorable smile. Ji Won is not focusing into getting love as she wants to find herself first. She is not going to let anyone snatch her dream this team. She is giving hard fight to her snob boss Mr. Kim and is counting every step as her weapon.
Korean dramas are widely popular for delivering time travel dramas. From Scarlett Heart Ryeo to Mr. queen, time travel dramas are more swoon worthy than other romantic dramas. This tale of revenge is more than slice of life. JI won is not seeking revenge, she just wants to change her fate. And to turn the table she is cooking curries which she did not find out last time.
Park Min Young as Ji won is ravishing. In the beginning, she is scared and struggling to understand what she has been put through. Her enactment from portraying a scaredy girl to confident Ji Won is a wholesome journey. In Woo has improved like a dream. From delivering sad and struggling Byeong In in Mr. Queen, to playing supportive and not so silent Ji Hyuk, he has come a long way. It is sad to hear that he is enlisting now. His chemistry with Min Young is on another level.

Life would become so easy if God starts giving us second chance once in a while. Turning the table and starting off on a new note is a complete different thing. I am jealous of you Ji Won!

LOVE IT!!

This is my first time doing something like this, so I'll keep it simple (or try to ;))

10/10 story:
I love the plot, and the small details hidden within it, for ex. Ji-Hyuk as a heart tattoo just like that Ji-wons dad would draw hearts on money. When the series is based on a webtoon I always expect something really good and this is delivered ( I'm even reading the webtoon lmao). I like how the webtoon resembles the K-drama a lot and that they didn't skip any part (not that I know of at least, so correct me if I'm wrong). I still have at least 6 episodes to go and I'm still interested in the plot (which is a miracle) so I think this drama deserves all the attention it gets. Also, I love Ji-Hyuk's and Ji-won's cute reveal (watch to know otherwise)

10/10 acting:
Of course, a rom-com isn't a rom-com without the rom-com queen Min Young!! I personally love her. The acting is also a 10/10 bcs of the way I raged in the first ep with Min-Hwan and Soo-Min (and throughout the whole series because of these two I swear...). They (the two actors that acted Min Hwan and Soo-Min) portrayed their hateable characters well and that's a talent.

10/10 OST:
I don't find anything bad or good in osts, I don't think it matters but in short, I don't listen or pay attention to the posts.

Rewatch Value 10/10:
I think this is rewatchable but I don't like rewatching series myself.

overall:
funny, has great acting, and gets you hooked.

04/02/2024 (Feb).

Am really enjoying this so far as it is more about older adults (early 40s) going back 10 years to try and fix things whereas other drama series like: Twinkling Watermelon and A Time Called You are about adults going back to their teens to try and make changes to divert the future in some way.

Honorable mention:
Oh No! Here Comes Trouble -

This is another excellent drama series up there like TW and ATCY only it is about a teenage boy that survives a horrific bus accident with the same supernatural ability as his grandfather - no time travel in it plus it is about saving "souls" , however, it is just as fantastic!

Now back to Marry My Husband...

It is good plus each episode delivers something worth your attention - especially episode 10 which has whopper after whopper moments in it. Talk about getting what you want when it comes to revenge and cutting ties once and for all.

Am hoping this drama stays on track and doesn't digress as have been reading a few rumours as of late. No no no!

What I haven't liked in it so far is the overuse of someone liking someone else because of being smitten over something like a dog or kitten - why keep the kitten outdoors when it clearly has no shelter (at first) and also when it starts to snow?!?! It is totally cruel and makes no sense. Either take it to an animal shelter or home.

SPOILER ALERT!

I also don't like that the General Manager who is in love with Ji Won is doing nothing to save himself - when you think about it he is pretty much in the same boat as her and in order to LIVE the price is a "death for a death."

What else?

Although I don't think the female lead is attractive (plain face) she does nerdy, teen, mousy wife to a strong female really really well, however, becoming a strong woman due to a haircut or makeover is highly unlikely and especially overnight.

The female that plays her so called "best friend" does a good job of showing just how someone can be all innocent yet underneath is totally twisted and dangerous. Kind of like one character in "Beauty From Gangnam" (I think) only maybe a bit more over the top.

Am so glad I have never had a single friend like that in my life!

Anyhow, each episode is well paced, has no real unnecessary fillers and keeps you wanting more.

Well worth watching!

From okay to amazing in a few episodes

I will say that for the first few episodes I wasn’t super invested in this drama, but I’m glad I continued to watch. Everything becomes worth it around episode 5. I like that the lead isn’t too hesitant on getting back at the ones who wronged her. Male lead is adorably protecting her at all costs and the choices he makes become extremely understandable after a while. The antigonists suck and the actors do a great job showing that. The plot itself is very well connected. Can’t wait for more!
